in the lord your god you know fear is a very powerful force fear will paralyze you and when you look at all all around the things that are happening particularly there in nigeria the fear can paralyze you and that is exactly what the enemy wants and yet faith will mobilize you okay another story uh in second chronicles chapter 20 one of my favorite stories of jehoshaphat you you all know the story three armies were coming against a jehoshaphat and he was afraid but he called a fast they came together to seek the lord and and jehoshaphat reminded the lord in his prayer o lord god of our fathers are you not god in heaven and do you not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations and in your hand there is not there is not power and might so that no one is able to withstand you are you not our god who drove out the inhabitants of this land before your people israel he was he was reminding god of his covenant and he called the people together and the lord spoke through a prophet in in verse 15 do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude for the battle is not yours but god's okay all that you're going through all that we are going through it can't be solved by human knowledge this is why this gathering is so important you're coming together to seek god's face and to strengthen yourself in the lord this is not the time to draw back and stop worshiping and declaring the goodness of the lord this is the time to press in listen to what the the plan of the holy spirit was for the children of israel you will not need to fight in this battle position yourselves stand still and see the salvation of the lord stand and see the salvation of the lord and what they did you know this story they appointed the singers and musicians to go in front of the army in verse 21 he appointed those who should sing to the lord and should praise the beauty of holiness as they went out before the army and here's what they were saying praise the lord for his mercy endures forever they were they were declaring god you are good and your mercy endures forever and you may look around you right now and say what is good about our situation but this is not the time to draw back and stop declaring the goodness of god declare it by faith even though what you're seeing around you is not good by faith we declare god you are good your mercy endures forever and here's the key verse 22 of second chronicles chapter 20. now when they began to sing and praise the lord set ambushments against the enemy when they began to sing and praise that's why it's so important for you to come together like you are today and gather you're turning your fear into faith rather rather than being paralyzed you're going to be mobilized okay that's what faith does and then finally one more thing before i close yes we serve a waymaker and i love isaiah chapter 43 listen to this fear not i have redeemed you i have called you by name nigeria you are mine when you pass through the waters i will be with you and through the rivers they shall not overflow you when you walk through the fire you shall not be burned nor shall the flame scorch you for i am the lord your god the holy i will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert lord we ask you to do a new thing in our hearts in this nation forgive us for looking to the past and trying to replicate what you
