It's probably more apt to say "$5 UART to WiFi bridge" so that people understand you're still limited to UART speeds, etc. But, it's pretty capable as its own microcontroller as well.

Came across your channel a few days ago whilst putting together my first Arduino project and it's definitely one of my favourites. Thorough and well thought through so fairly easy to follow for a beginner, well paced which makes them nice bite size videos, plus your delivery is great which keeps them from being too dry and makes them eminently watchable. Keep up the good work!

This is really great stuff. Once you are connected and have an IP, how would you go about hitting a URL to POST or GET data?

Nice! I got a couple of these hanging around, never got around to using them.

Watched the video and went ahead and bought 4 of these. WiFi enabled projects, I can only imagine all the automation I can achieve around my apartment. Start my coffee machine from my phone? Yes. LED light strip control over WiFi? Yup. How about letting me know when my 18650 cells have finished charging by sending me an email-text? What a time we live in.

This is awesome! I could only find more expensive ones before, but now my wifi dreams are possible.

Thank you so much for this video! I bought one of these a while ago but I'm still a beginner and I never found simple instructions on how to use it. Your video gave me a lot of confidence and I think I'll even add it to my current project!

Recently there has been quite a hype about this ESP8266 WiFi serial module on Hack A Day And it is totally reasonable I mean, just 5 dollars for WiFi module, which works easily with let's say Arduino is way cheaper than an Arduino yun, or other WiFi shields So I went ahead and bought 3 of those quite a while ago And today, I will show you what they are, what they can do, and how to handle them properly Let's get started! (*Electronic Music) Firstly, let's talk about the board itself As you can see, mine has a small antenna on the PCB
