5 *Affordable* SUPER STRATS Every Guitarist Should Try!

hey guys welcome back to the channel today I'm going to be looking at five of my favorite super strats that I think fly under the radar and offer Great Value here we go now when it comes to iconic guitars of course there's the Stratocaster Telecaster Les Paul and 335. those are the big four and I always encourage players to try out each one of those models because they offer a playing experience unlike the others and of course you might end up bonding with something that you never expected that you would but I think there's one more that we should add to that list and that is the Japanese Super Strat so iconic and again offers an experience unlike any of those other guitars now in the past I've done videos like five Les Paul's not made by Gibson or five strats not made by Fender that kind of thing where I look at some budget options that I think are great for consumers well today we're doing that with super strats so five Super strats not made in Japan these are more affordable instruments that I think capture the spirit of a super Strat without breaking the bank now a quick caveat before we jump into my list of favorite super strats these are guitars that I have hands-on experience with this is not just a random list these these are not just models I picked off the internet these are guitars that I have played for hours and I know very very well so that being said let's jump in and look at Guitar number one [Music] all right you guys super Strat number one is from Schechter now Schechter knows super strats right from their Omen series which is like 450 500 bucks all the way up to the Korean series the Japanese series and the USA Custom Shop these guys have super strats in almost any configuration you can think of like this exotic wood series but this is not my recommendation even though I love this guitar my recommendation and I think my favorite super Strat from the Schecter lineup is the C1 SLS Elite absolutely fell in love with that guitar it's about half the price of a Japanese super Strat so tons of savings there stainless steel frats you know USA pickups quality pots switches all the way through so super high quality components all the way through this model it looks killer it plays killer and like I said half the price of a Japanese super Strat [Music] super Strat number two not made in Japan is from Sterling yes this is the budget version of music man I've been playing on Music Man and Sterling guitars for many many years I owned an early uh jp60 Sterling uh Steve Luka their model that's a killer super Strat but I think my pick is uh the John Petrucci series now this is the Majesty it's the more expensive version there's just the basic JP series which I would recommend I think that's the best bang for Bach they go for about like I think uh 650 700 bucks something like that this one's quite a bit more but it is an excellent guitar and you get things like stainless steel Frets on this and you get the Boost circuitry push uh push push which is really nice and easy to use the trim system on both Music Man and Sterling um is the best I've ever played and I've played on a ton of different tram systems so from the factory just a basic two-point trim I think music man is the best in the industry it doesn't matter if I was playing that you know 500 JP series that thing held tuned all the way up to my American made music man this is my favorite trim so if you want to have a trim that you can bend up you can bend down and it'll come into tune my recommendation is music man and Sterling so yeah that's my recommendation I would go with just the basic version of the JP series if you have the money the Majesty's awesome but this is all about more like budget options so I would go basic JP series I played on that for years killer guitar [Music] super Strat number three from a company that's just killing it right now is Court this is the g300 pro again less than half the price of uh Japanese super Strat and we've got things like of course locking tuners graphite nut stainless steel Frets ebony fingerboard uh Seymour Duncan pickups great two-point trim that you can bend up and down mahogany neck mahogany body on and on it goes uh just a Litany of amazing specs and awesome playability on this guitar so quartz yeah like I said I've looked at I think three of them now over the past few years and each one you know they're winning awards they're making amazing amazing guitars and this is just my personal opinion one of the best choices for a super Strat if you don't have one just because of the price and because of the features and like Brands like Schechter um you know you're just getting an awesome awesome array of specs which you do want in a super Strat for a price that's just uh yeah just insane compared to a Japanese one so yeah this would definitely be on my list this is number three court g300 Pro check it out [Music] super Strat number four is from the king of super strats themselves and that is of course Ibanez now like Schechter they have super strats of course in every single price tier my favorite of the whole bunch is the S Series now of course the RG is like yeah that's like kind of like the iconic super Strat but for me I think I like the softer curves of the S Series they have thinner bodies they're really really contoured this is the essay series that I have here with a little uh pickup upgrade um but this has since been replaced with the S standard Series so that would be my pick for you guys is the S standard that's the most affordable version or the S premium um beautiful guitars that would be yeah my pick soft easy playing guitars great tram systems um of course you know you get the thin Ibanez neck very very iconic and yeah just that uh that s body Series has always just fit me perfectly and if you haven't tried one go to a store and try one RG versus S but my recommendation S Series I think it's absolutely a perfect compromise between playability and comfort [Music] and finally my last pick for super strats that are not made in Japan but our amazing guitars are these two I like to sneak a Telly in every once in a while uh so this is actually a super Telly this is from sire guitars uh one of my favorite Brands just because of the value that they offer uh this is the t7 humbucker humbucker so you get the big humbuckers five-way switch Supreme playability on these great comfort and uh awesome looks so not crazy specs on this because it is so affordable so you don't get things like stainless steel Frets but yeah really playable beautiful guitar and uh yeah that's a great pick for somebody who might not want like the Estelle body but wants uh an affordable kind of super guitar and finally what a gorgeous guitar this is this is from shiji and these guys again are a company that are just killing it specked out to the Moon absolutely killer guitar I always like to show the grain off on this one just so straight roasted Maple neck stainless steel frats of course um locking tuners all that kind of stuff high output pickups great trim system that can go up and down all the Hallmarks that you'd want from a super Strat again less than half of a Japanese super strap price so uh yeah and of course you get all these uh a few different uh gradient finishes with that beautiful quilted top so yeah shiji sire those are my last picks if you're looking for a super Strat type guitar you don't have one in your collection any of these five or six guitars would fit the bill really really really well and like I said I've got extensive
