4x4 Off-Road Rigs at Midwest Overlanding & Off-Road Expo

we are currently in springfield missouri at the moore expo it is about negative 20 degrees here right now with the windchill it's freezing so we are going to go inside the expo and give you a look around some of the cool rigs that we found here today [Music] oh it's cold well leo started right up yeah i'm glad we were able to plug in um it got down to almost zero last night and we were able to plug in and the engine block was at about 40 some days kate and i prefer to stay south in the winter as many snowbirds do but we made the trek from texas to springfield missouri for the midwest overlanding and off-road expo we were there to exhibit our four-wheel pop-up camper with juniper overland they brought a brand new slide in hawk camper for the expo and we popped our heads in to check out the new features which include a max air fan instead of the dometic the standard hawk slide in has a dry weight of hundred pounds and a starting price of just under twenty thousand dollars there were over eighty exhibitors at the show with two halls of over landing vehicles and gear to check out van gear rooftop tents storage rack systems and off-road folding camping trailers adventure motors in grand view missouri had two opus campers on display according to their rep this op light folding trailer weighs in around twenty three hundred and fifty pounds with the options and priced at twenty thousand dollars according to the opus camper website the light air tent will inflate in 90 seconds and deflates in less than a minute this setup is ideal for sleeping two adults on the queen-sized bed the outdoor slide-out kitchen comes with a four-burner stove sink with running water from the 20-gallon tank and a 12 volt fridge the op2 off-road trailer has two sleeping areas to accommodate up to four people this one weighs in at 2 850 pounds and priced at 28 000 with all the options on display [Music] the bundu on caught our eyes as we were walking around the expo it was attached to the bundu tech trekkin trailer with the bundu top mounted on the roof this entire setup weighed in around 1200 pounds and was priced at 16 000 according to their rep the awning and top are imported from south africa and the trailer is made in iowa right across the aisle was one of our favorite vendors at the expo this used sherp atv was for sale at 95 000 with all the options which includes roll bar and seat belts for six passengers brand new the sherp atv starts at a hundred and ten thousand dollars and each one is made to order this one has about a two thousand mile range when all of the auxiliary fuel tanks are filled and has a webasto diesel heater to keep the passengers warm i don't know about you but i would love to go for a ride in one of these things rustic mountain over landing based out of birmingham alabama brought two of their trailers to the expo each outfitted with a different rooftop tent configuration their base model trailer starts at 8 500 which comes with 31 inch all-terrain tires on 15-inch wheels a front cargo basket custom roof rack tilting lid and rear tailgate [Music] [Music] kimberly campers based in australia had their platinum camper on display according to their website this camper is equipped with 300 amp hours of lithium diesel hot water system independent air suspension a 42 gallon water tank and they claim it can sleep up to six people with the expo in springfield missouri we weren't surprised to see the adventure truck on display by global expedition vehicles we first saw the adventure truck at overland expo east a few years ago and liked the interior layout with a front pass-through between the truck cab and the camper the front dinette and driver's side kitchen makes the space feel open with a full-size bed and wet bath in the back according to the spec sheet there's also an option for a washer dryer combo bay starting price for an adventure truck is 260 thousand dollars brad of trail recon also had his rig on display at the expo we didn't get a chance to meet him but we got to walk around his patriot camper setup there was no shortage of off-road trailers at the expo another one we checked out was tent tracks overlook with a base price of under six thousand dollars it's designed to be used with rooftop tents like the one on display options include a solar heated road shower which was mounted on this overlooked trailer has a reinforced fiberglass body 2 000 pound axle and 31 inch all-terrain tires our good friends from storyteller overland also brought out two beast mode adventure vans to the expo built on the mercedes sprinter 4x4 chassis these two fully outfitted vans start at just under 190 000 they come equipped with a 360 degree kc light system convertible sofa bed with two shoulder belts to seat two additional kids or adults air conditioner microwave induction cooktop and a 12 kilowatt m power energy storage system with high output alternator and a 3600 watt inverter to run everything on board storyteller overland also had the best vendor booth complete with cornhole and a pinata apparently tanner's head just wasn't quite hard enough to break it open the show also had some cool trucks on display including this ford f-250 super duty with a rooftop tent from untamed badlands the 2014 ford f-350 super duty by project valhalla was also on display at the expo with blue line overland the owner of the truck stopped by our rig and made a joke about how our camper wouldn't fit on his truck dave and george of quigley 4x4 also had two vans on display we enjoyed looking through the gmc van with quigley's 4x4 conversion which includes a 4 high and 4 low transfer case interior layout is simple but functional and both beds can be folded up and out of the way to use the interior space for something else there was a lot to see at the midwest over landing and off-road expo and we didn't even have a chance to attend the seminars going on both days since our rig was on display we
