electronic clocks and then again in 1953 that meant that all instruments had to be tuned using a mathematical ratio from the piano a which was at 440 Hertz this ensured a standardization in what instruments and consequentially music sounded like from Toronto to Tokyo but not every musician is happy with this standard that's because many believe that 440 is an unnatural frequency arrived at randomly and without any scientific support the 432 Hertz frequency is more easily relatable that's because it's derived from the 8 hertz frequency discovered by Otto Schumann and has been called the Schumann frequency or Earth's frequency it got that name because Schumann demonstrated that waves traveling from Earth to the ionosphere surrounding it do so at an 8 hertz frequency so any multiple of
