- Hey everybody! This is Randy Santel Atlas, and this is kind of a different video than we normally post on our channels. I try to keep everything as
positive and uplifting as I can. Even when I lose, I still do my best to keep everything
positive and promotional for not only the
restaurant, but for myself, my team, and everybody else involved. The primary goal of each
food challenge event I do is to promote the
restaurant involved. That makes each promotional
event a team effort. With that said, there's
three typical situations that may occur which can cause me to lose a food challenge, and I've never discussed any of those on the channel before. Reason #1 is 100% my fault. By either not having my
stomach capacity ready for the size of the food challenge, or by not doing enough research
to have a good strategy that would allow me to dominate. Reason #2 is both my fault and partially the
restaurant's fault as well. When I'm preparing for a food challenge, I try to make sure that
my stomach capacity is ready for an extra
half pound or pound more than the food challenges
that I'm expecting. Every now and then,
though, something happens in the kitchen regarding the food prep and either the food gets
cooked too long, or more food gets added than there's
supposed to be, whatever. The food gets brought out to me and I'm just not able to eat fast enough to finish within the time limit. In those situations, there is no ill will on behalf of the restaurant. They wanted to do their best and they tried their best,
something just happened and that's understandable,
we're all human. In the case of #3, though, there has been at least 12 times where a restaurant has maliciously done something so that I lose their challenge. When those situations occur,
I usually just take it on the chin and lose
gracefully because I know that I'd wanna go back
in the future to rematch the challenge, and then
if I create a ruckus, I'll burn that bridge and
they won't let me back. These four restaurants, though, I have no intention of ever going back. One's even closed. Restaurant #4 is the most
recent one that I've visited. It was last year in the summer of 2019 in British Columbia, Canada. Magic Mitch and I took a four
hour drive up to Kamloops, BC, so that I could attempt the massive Reubinator's Sandwich
Challenge at Reubin's Diner. I started feeling poorly a few days prior in Indianapolis, Indiana. I lost a food challenge
in Lafayette, Indiana that I should've won. I won the next two after that, but I had really long,
terrible finishing times. I had never heard of Kamloops, BC before and it was very far from Vancouver. But I knew that there was a seven-pound Reubinator Sandwich Challenge
that four people had beaten. It looked good, so I
figured I'd give it a go. Problem was, I did not
get a sandwich even close to what everybody else
before me had gotten. I knew I was in trouble from the get-go because they were making the sandwich on a plate that was way bigger than in every other photo I had seen. We weren't able to get a final weight of the sandwich because
Reubin's Diner didn't have a scale that went that high. I knew it was at least
eight and a half pounds, though, because after the challenge, the owner told my buddy
that they made the sandwich a pound and a half to two
pounds bigger than usual because I'm a professional and
I should be able to eat more. Needless to say, with there
being over seven pounds of freaking pork meat
and me not feeling well, in front of all those
people, I had to take the L. It's gonna stay a loss forever, too, because Reubin's Diner is now closed. Maintaining poor ethical practices in today's world just
isn't sustainable longterm. Restaurant #3 I visited back
in 2017 with Magic Mitch during our summer Australia
tour, Johnny's Burgers in Canning Vale, Western
Australia, near Perth. I was doing pretty well in Australia and confidence was high,
so I decided to take on the massive Burgerzilla
at Johnny's Burgers. It had been won twice before,
and it just so happened to be by the same person,
my friend Tom who goes by the nickname "The Polish Piranha." He was gonna do the challenge with me and try for his third
win, and I was gonna try to become the second winner. What we were supposed
to be trying to eat was about a three kilogram burger
with about a pound of fries. And as you can see, we got a
few more than a pound of fries. I started getting worried very on, because Johnny's was very adamant. Not only we were not
allowed to film the cooking of the food, we were not allowed to see the preparations at all. When those massive trays
of food got brought out, Tom and I just looked at each
other and shook our heads. Not only did I get my butt kicked and I had to take the loss,
but Tom "The Polish Piranha," who had won twice before,
he didn't come close either. We both loss and needless to say, I will not be going back there again. And I wanna give a
shoutout to my friend Cal in Australia, "Hulk Smash Food." He's not gonna try the challenge
because of what happened. Much appreciated, sir. Restaurant #2 is Butcher's Burger & Butcher's Steak House in Athens, Greece. Magic Mitch and I visited there in 2016 during our European summer tour. We first flew to Thessaloniki,
Greece to meet up with our friend Damos and
do two food challenges. Then the three of us
flew to Athens, Greece, so that Damos and I could attempt the Massive Burger Challenge
at Butcher's Burger. The three of us took a
morning flight to Athens and we got to the restaurant pretty early. We did that so we could talk to the owners about the challenge that Damos
and I were going to attempt. Butcher's Burger had a
long-standing challenge that they offered, which
we all agreed would be a bit too easy for Damos
and I as professionals to attempt as part of a big
and well promoted event. I asked the owners,
though, and they agreed that I'd be able to be
there when the chefs made the burgers, so that I
make sure that challenges were still manageable for Damos and I, since there was gonna be a minimum of 150 people outside watching us. I went to bathroom to change out of my bum travel travel clothes and into my uniform and to
get ready for the event. By the time I got back
down to the kitchen, all the food had been prepared, the burgers had been made. Damos and I looked at
each other, really scared, and just said, "We can't eat these!" Not only did the make the
burgers extra massive, they also did what I hate the most. They added like a whole liter of sauces, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise. It was all over the top bun, the bottom bun, all over everywhere. Needless to say, we both
got our butts kicked. Damos technically won because I ended up getting sick because I
couldn't handle all the sauces and I was full and not feeling food because I had lost the previous challenge that I did in Thessaloniki the day before. I do appreciated the fact, though, that they screwed both
of us and not just me, so that Damos, the Greek guy, could win. So Butcher's Burger, I do appreciate that. And the freaking video has
almost five million views on YouTube, so even though I lost, we're still winning there. Now we are down to restaurant
#1, I am so excited. It's the entire reason for
this video, I don't hate any single person in the
world, but I hate this place. Lulu's Bakery & Cafe
there San Antonio, Texas. Unless you were following me
on either Facebook or Instagram back at the very end of 2017, you have no idea what I'm talking about and that's because there's no video because I never even got to
attempt the freaking challenge. They had a chicken fried steak challenge that you had to finish
in just 12 short minutes and it went viral all over
Facebook and the Internet, and I literally had over
500 people message me, tag me, everything, wanting
me to take this challenge. And when that happens, I do my best to get to the restaurant so I
can try the challenge. I called up Lulu's two
times before the event. I called about a week before
and then two days before to make sure everything was still on. I made sure they knew that a
YouTuber named Randy Santel was coming, and that I'd
be taking the challenge to post the video onto my
channel and that I wanted to make sure that they
knew about it beforehand. We agreed upon the time of
the event which never changed. We agreed upon the fact
that my friend John, who does food challenges,
or did food challenges, all around the area was gonna be able to do the food challenge with me, and I said that I would be there about a half-hour to an hour early and get everything ready for the event. Game day came and everything was great. Everything was going well because
we had over seven families come to watch and then I
think four or five individuals came too, so everything was going fine until the manager came
over and informed us that Lulu's supposedly had a policy that did not allow for
filming inside the restaurant, which I thought was funny,
because both times I talked to people that said specially
that it would okay to film, and most importantly,
a guy had just within two weeks prior had posted a video of himself taking the
challenge on YouTube. I wasn't going down without
a fight, that is for sure. So I didn't conceive right
away, but eventually I got to the point where I saw
that there was no chance of winning, so then I
switched over from thinking about myself to thinking
about the seven families and all the individuals who
came to watch the challenge. I had Magic Mitch put away
all of our camera equipment and John too and then we put in our order with an understanding
that there was gonna be no video of us taking the challenge. Twenty minutes go by, we had no answers. John and I still had no food challenges, but also none of the families or people that were with us got their food either. And then finally a lady called me over, who I had never seen before. She made sure to let me know that she was the higher upper manager and that she had come from her house, very inconvenienced, to
deal with this situation. She then informed me that
none of us were gonna be served our food challenges,
none of the families with us were gonna be served their food, we all had to get out. What it came to is that
the restaurant thought that there was the potential
for one of the seven families or people watching us take the challenge to use their phones to
video John and I taking the challenge and that we might
post it to my social media. I even offered to sign
a legal document stating that I would not post
any video of us taking the challenge to my social media. That didn't work, nothing worked. She then said we've
gotta get the heck out. I went to all the people with us and told them what was going on, which none of us could really
understand what was going on. Then I asked Magic Mitch to get all of our stuff cleaned
up, which he did that, because I needed to go
out and make a phone call. I called up Bobby J's
Old Fashioned Hamburgers in Helotes, Texas, which
is near San Antonio. Bobby J's was awesome and super friendly. And thankfully, it wasn't too late yet for John and I to go over there and take their burger challenge, but by the time I got
back to the restaurant to tell everybody, the
freaking cops had been called. They were already there! I got back into the restaurant to get a handle on the situation. What happened is that two
police vehicles were called, four police officers total, and they were responsible
for not only getting myself, Magic Mitch, and John and
his family off the premises, but also the seven families and all of the individuals
that were with us. How in the heck in America,
the land of the free, how in the heck are they
gonna get kicked out of a freaking restaurant
simply, only for the fact that there's a chance
that one or two of them might have a cellular
device with a video camera that might just happen to film
us taking a food challenge. That makes no sense, still to this day I've never gotten one single apology, and I have no idea how the
hell any of that happened. But you know who they
screwed out the most? And I'm not talking about
just America in general, but also Magic Mitch. Magic Mitch loves sweets, and Lulu's, they have these massive,
delicious looking cinnamon rolls, and because of all this,
Magic Mitch still to this day, has not been able to try
one of those cinnamon rolls. It should be a crime! I do wanna end this with
saying that I don't mean to talk bad about the
entire Lulu's organization, the servers that we had
excluding the hostess, all the people in the
restaurant were great. It was completely a management problem, and I'm not gonna call myself a martyr, but, thankfully, I was the last
person to have that problem. Molly, my friend Lane,
and a couple other eaters, they've all been able to
go into Lulu's since then and do the challenge for their
channels without any issues. So, that is a good thing, but
I myself am most definitely not going ever back to
Lulu's or even near there. If somebody in the area does
want to send Magic Mitch and I their cinnamon
rolls, we would eat them. Time to end this story and
I hope you guys enjoyed it. Thanks for all your time and support, but I've never seen so many people treated like absolute felons for something
so astronomically stupid. So Lulu's, more like boohoo's. But like I said at the beginning, I've been cheated other other times, but those were food
challenges where I want to rematch them and
hopefully win on round two. So, there's gonna be some
rematch food challenge videos upcoming in the near future. Hopefully, I don't get cheated during the round two's of those, but yeah, thanks for watching
this video. Have a great day!! Always remember, win before your begin!!
Lulu's has been garbage since forever, the Malt House was actually better lol. Bud Jones is where it's at for some good fried steak.
Wooooooowwwww fuck Luluโs dude. Thatโs so embarrassing.
Luluโs is trash. First and only time I went there was during off-peak hours. Customer service was horrendous/almost non-existent and food took forever to come out.
LULU's is fucking shit, Im not surprised.
Donโt let this make you forget that Luluโs is really dirty.
Ouch man, not going to Lulus anymore. They really acted badly for something that would have just been free press. Glad the burger places was cool in Heloteees lol
You wanna know the best thing about Luluโs? The Lubyโs across the street. ๐๐ป
Lulu's was so gross last time I went. But this is just bizarre. You'd think they'd want the free advertising.
Lol donโt go there. I went, saw roaches, notified the staff and they did nothing. I walked out and never went back.
