him as he talks to us for all this is by prayer in the name of jesus christ our savior [Music] good evening once again during this family togetherness week of prayer our desire is for every husband and wife every father and mother every family and every person that loves jesus to produce the fruit of the spirit in their lives today's spiritual fruit are kindness and goodness galatians 5 22 and 23 reads but the fruit of the spirit is love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self-control against such there is no law kindness is the quality of being generous considerate and friendly there are many ways to practice kindness such as opening a door sharing food with someone who is angry helping someone carry a heavy load or simply sharing a smile in ephesians 4 31 and 32 the apostle paul teaches the essence of kindness to the members of the church at ephesus when he shares all bitterness wrath anger clamour and slander must be removed from you along with all malice be kind to one another compassionate forgiving each other just as god in christ also forgave you here paul is talking to the believers who are jews and gentiles equally claiming to be part of the family of god as such paul reminds them their family relationships should be informed by the values of god in their families and in the kingdom this means putting away five sins in all their relationships one is bitterness two is wrath three is anger four is clamor and five is slander malice must also be removed and replace this repulsive behaviors with kindness compassion and forgiveness since this is the way god be behaves with us paul goes on to say you should also behave this way with one another these deeds including kindness are meant to be built up in families and developed in the unity of the body of christ jesus practiced kindness every day in a very bold and radical way for his time his kindness often extended to the list of these people who are not treated so well in the society he healed lepers cast out demons from those who are possessed and fed people who are hungry and as for the virtue of goodness it literally it literally means godliness to be like god holy pure and righteous just like kindness a pure heart is required to cultivate the fruit of goodness daily we are to exhibit the goodness that is godliness of christ as psalms 23 6 says certainly goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and my dwelling will be in the house of the lord forever goodness is not goodness is about having the character of christ of course goodness is not just doing kind good or kindeed or act practicing goodness needs to become our way of life speaking about people who would exhibit these qualities in their lives ellen white said all who became the subject of christ's kingdom he said she said would give evidence of faith and repentance kindness honesty and fidelity would be seen in their lives so the followers of christ will give evidence of the transforming power of the holy spirit that is from the desire of ages page 107 being transformed by god's spirit is what being a christian is all about so today choose to water the fruit of of kindness and goodness in your heart and in your homes as you share a smile or words of encouragement with family members neighbors co-workers and friends may everyone recognize that you are walking in the spirit that is verse 16 rather than living by the desires of the flesh because the spirit of god lives in you at this moment we should give our tithes and offerings those who have the physical money i i don't know where is the is there anybody to collect fiscal money otherwise we have our bank accounts through or m-pesa or airtel that we shall put that but before you do that let us pray we want to thank you our father at this moment when we want return a little all that you have given us may you accept our offerings and bless us more for this my humble prayer in the name of jesus christ our savior we'll sing our opening song song number 652 which is also our theme song love at home [Music] there is beauty all around when there's love at home there is joy in every sound when there's love at home peace and plenty here a bite smiling fair on every side time does softly sweetly glide when there's love at home love at home love at home that softly sweetly glide when there's love at home kindly heaven smiles above when there's love at home all the earth is filled with love when there's love at home sweeter sings the brook let's buy brighter beams the azure sky oh there's one who smiles on high when there's love at home love at home love at home time does softly sweetly glide when there's love at home jesus make me holy thine then there's love at home may the sacrifice be mine then there's love at home safely from all harm i'll rest with no sinful cares disrespect through thy tender mercy blessed when there's love at home love softly sweetly glide when there's a love at home good day to you all saints of the living god i am so happy to be here and i hope you are too as we commence or as we continue our program catch the little foxes catch the foxes the little foxes and before we go any further with our word for today may we bow our heads in prayer heavenly father the king of all kings the lord of lords i come before your throne and request now that you fill us with your spirit forgive us of our sin and help us to accept this your word the bread of life lord god that we may live and see your goodness in the land of the living thank you so much bless everyone who is listening and lord god may you feed us that we may want no more in jesus name i pray amen um church today we're going to be touching on a topic that is um very sensitive and you know i have since discussing this matter with the pastor himself prayed about this and asked lord god to help us accept the truth of his word and the gems of his word if you would buy a tv manual today i mean a tv you would use a manual faithfully in order to make optimum use of this tv the same thing with our christian lives if you are going to use to walk in the christian walk this is our manual the bible the living word of god jesus himself says i am the word of life and um this is the word with which we ruminate upon today we speak about the little socks one of the little is the foxes is the fox of extremities and now i want to speak specifically to us as women because this one is catching us more unaware than we would have thought now as we read from the bible reading from today uh i mean was joshua chapter one and verse seven it says only be thou strong and very courageous that thou may observe to do according to all the law which moses my servant commanded thee turn not from it to the right hand or to the left that thou mayest prosper wither so ever thou goest this is god talking to joshua and i mean moses had departed had left the scene he had been the judge prophet and leader over israel and how sarcastic after being told or after being asked by one of these servants with whom he met fighting at that time an israelite in slavery and he said to him who made you judge over us and paul speaks about that later and says this is the very same moses this is the very same moses who became leader and now joshua comes to replace him as a leader judge over israel and it is the same joshua that god is speaking to and telling him now when you are taking this position of leadership be strong and courageous and that you may uh observe everything that i've told you according to the law but he says something interesting at the end he says to him don't depart from it to the right or to the left in other words don't be extreme in your approach and this is what we're going to address the little foxes of extremities amen now i want to share with you if we um go to the book of proverbs chapter 31 we get the common story the common reference when women are speaking when we women are speaking to each other in terms of virtuous a virtuous woman a powerful woman one who resounds with god and where else to extract it but from the words of the mother the queen mother to to the queen mother to king lemuel in the bible and we are told at this moment uh that the king is sat down by his mother and she tells him she imparts to him wisdom and you know i don't know if i should call this a blessing but i listened to um one possible speaker from southern africa and he alluded to this issue and i want to share this today just a piece just little tidbits of what he had to share with us from his sermon and i want to merge it with what i want to bring out today now one thing we must understand about this uh scripture and i love the fact that it's not me who's speaking about this but a theologian and also confirmed from the research that i managed to do in preparation of this sermon now the one thing that is emphatic that one thing one a person cannot run away from this passage is the fact that this message is not to any ordinary person but it is to a king and that king's name is king lemuel but if you look at this this passage you'll find that it it troubles historians it troubles theologians in that this passage this king with whom this passage is meant for was not found in the lineage of israel or judah and it poses the question so who then is king lemio but if you look at the name itself the theologian submits that this name lemieux actually means of god of god sorry or born of god or belonging to god and so um historians or theologians have come to an agreement that this most likely is king solomon because if you remember he is the king we had an encounter with god after requesting lord god please give me wisdom and god spoke to him and it is in wisdom that he ruled the children of israel and so we are led to believe that this passage was written to king solomon who bathsheba decided to give the pet name lemieux meaning of god or belonging to god and as we read this passage we understand that the first few verses verse one to nine speak about how the king ought to conduct himself but verse 10 and continuing from there is where we women thrive because this is where she starts speaking to us or speaking about what a virtuous woman looks like amen and when she speaks to this virtuous woman she speaks about qualities with which she identifies now let me speak about what this pastor had spoken about in this preaching i loved this element that the gems that he shared and one of the gems was that you must understand that bathsheba unlike the queen and the queens that were wives to solemn i mean to king david at that time did not have a kingly uh history if you remember bathsheba she was a kid i meet you as a wife to an officer of the king amen and if you remember the story you remember that bathsheba was not acquired to be the king's wife in the most normal ways and [Music] so [Music] so [Music] that again okay saints of the living god we apologize for the technical glitch and yet we know that we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against principalities and it is a critical message for which the devil does not once want us to share so please wherever you are spend a second to uh to pray and ask god to lead us and to continue with us in this moment now as i was speaking i was saying that if you recall well you realize that bathsheba unlike the other wives the king david did not have the lineage of kingship she did not come from a royal family what she came from was a common family what she had were from the works of her hands and if you remember one of david's wives were out was abigail she came from an affluent family and if you remember one of david's wives were daughters to king saul and so you remember that david's family david's uh wives were women of royalty women of affluence and yet bathsheba was coming from a common place and yet she renders this proverb to uh king lemur or as we would say now king solomon in terms of wisdom and she speaks about a virtue and i'll say from verse 10 she says who can find this woman who can find a virtuous woman and she says it's not only a woman but is a wife i enjoyed listening to the sermon as the pastor explained that you see the the woman was not just a woman at that point but before the man found her she was already a virtuous wife which means she qualified as wife in her own conduct but look this is as far as i'll go with his sermon and i want us to come back to this point if you look at the chapter if you look at what the the chapters talk about i mean the chapter talks about one thing that bathsheba emphasizes or that the oreta emphasizes is the fact that the husband to this woman to this wife safely trusts in her that her hands are not idle that she works hard that she owns things i want to read here that it says that her worth is far above rubies she's not defined by work by by wealth but she is defined by the works of her hands and she says that the heart of her husband safely trusts her so he will have lack no lack of gain and she does him good and not evil all the days of her life and now after that we start hearing verses upon versus of how she exports products i mean imports products of how she works in the in the morning and sleeps late to ensure that her family is well fed and taken care of and is the bible not true to give us examples of such women we have the story of the shunammite woman in second kings and we learned that this woman the bible describes her as a woman of repute it says she was a great woman meaning that her influence was felt in society that the bible had to enunciate the power for which she possessed we have the stories in the new testament about women who accommodated the apostles as they shared in the gospel of god we have stories of notable women who like deborah had positioned offices of of of prophetic offices where they shared god's work and they said to those who feared that because you have fear to go before the lord a woman shall take possession a woman shall take possession shall kill this king who so troubled israel at that time church what i'm driving at is the fact that we have powerful women who are explained in the same virtue that proverbs chapter 31 gives us today and yet there is a line and yet there is a place where we ought to realize that we should not depart either to the right nor to the left and i shall explain [Music] now if you are like me you'll also read the bible even from where it begins and if we go back to the book of genesis we'll realize that there's an interesting story that happens in the garden of eden the god of eden expresses a story between a man and a woman a husband and wife the first man and the first woman to be created it explains about how they fell into deception and i want to zoom in an important aspect let us go to the book of genesis the bible tells us that in chapter 3 the serpent verse 1 was more cunning than any beast of the field which the lord god had made and he said to the woman has god indeed said you shall not eat of every tree in the garden and the woman said to the serpent we may eat of the fruit of the trees in the of the garden but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden god had said you shall not eat it nor shall you touch it lest you die the point of error begins with the conversation with the devil and i know my husband has preached about it a lot of times but i want to speak about this at the point of error as the point of error if you remember when christ would cast out demons in the bible he would not allow them to speak and let alone when he did allow them he would ask them a question what is your name and yet the woman broadly gets into the conversation with an animal she knew well not to speak and she gets into a conversation with the serpent being used by the devil now i want you to move with me as the gospel speak as a good word is speaking to us and the bible says then the serpent said to the woman in fact she explained that if we do or eat of this of this fruit we'll surely die we cannot eat of the one in the midst of the garden lest we die and and the serpent says to the woman you will not surely die for god knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be open and you'll be like god knowing good and evil i took time to think about this passage and the transition that comes from verse six so when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes so first it satisfied the eyes and it was pleasant it says and a tree desirable to make one wise she took off its fruit and ate have you ever asked yourself the fundamental question as to why she didn't allow her husband to eat first then she ate have you ever taken time to ask yourself why she saw that this tree was good to the eyes and desirable and after the information that the serpent told her she decided to eat for it but for herself first as far as i'm concerned the problem began there what did eve feel for a moment that look i need to help adam i've seen the way he manages the garden i feel like if i take this fruit and i'm a bit wiser it's going to help him see where exactly i'm coming from are you with me church if i take off this fruit he will understand that every time i've been trying to explain to him now that i'm a god i am like god she will he will see the wisdom in what i'm saying from a higher perspective i with me church now that i have taken of this fruit i will better guide him to be a better man because clearly he doesn't have vision and so she took off the fruit can you see where the story gets interesting when she decides to take the fruit the bible talks in fact ellen white talks about how she ate and saw nothing changing are you with me church she eats and realizes the settings have not changed and realizes that and decides maybe the ingredients since we are one flesh because as far as i remember adam said bone of my bone flesh off of my flesh maybe since we are one flesh i need to give him first i mean to give him also to activate the situation it is at that point that she offers her husband the fruit and he eats church we must be knowledgeable of our ancestry scientists submit that sometimes the problems we have with our physical bodies or with our development mentally is because of our dna and where it stems from church i would like to submit that some of these things must make us remember who our answers our ancestors are and i submit today that eve is my ancestor as long as eve is my ancestor i must realize that there is a remedy that the father the creator gives an ancestry like mine let us go to chapter 3 of genesis and verse 15. many people have hated this verse many people have cursed this verse and yet the verse comes as a remedy and i want to explain what i mean by a remedy have you ever gone to the doctor you you've been sweating you are not feeling well you feel tired each time you try and do something you feel less energized only to be told that you're sugar diabetic you're diabetic once the doctor tells you you're a diabetic he tells you it gives you a prescription now you cannot afford to go hungry now you must eat organic now you must make sure you exercise now you must make sure you do a b c and d and for the sake of life i tell you will do exactly what the doctor says we ought to do and this is what we meet in verse four let me start from verse 14. so the lord god said to the serpent after he makes an inquiry regarding who did what and why did they eat of the fruit that is adam and eve because you have done this o serpent you are cursed more than all cattle on your belly you shall go and you shall eat dust all the days of your life amen as far as i remember serpents or snakes have been very true to this calling they they have mastered the the art of gliding on the ground amen they have embraced the curse that comes from god himself amen are you with me church and verse 15 and i will put enmity between you and the woman for our sakes god decides i will put enmity between you the serpent and the woman and between your seed and her seed and he shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel now i want to explain this from my uh rural background now there is a you see there is a certain type of snake called a black mamba i don't know if you know it i'm sure we're very confident with it because i i love the greenery in kenya and yet i shudder at the amount of serpents that are in it and yet in this with this serpent this type of serpent now if you go to the mountainous region of manicoland area you'll find that long back the practice is not as common now as it was back then people because they knew this snake had the habit of attacking the head it it would come from an elevated place this serpent would come from an elevated place and jump or attack a person who had entered into territory it would attack and try to hit the head so locals or villagers would carry pots with hot porridge i don't know what you call porridge this side but i'm sure you you understand ugali a softer version of ugali right yes they would put it on their heads and carry a hot pot of ugali so that if the serpent would come it would launch straight into the pot and die and so the the verse lends itself through amen in fact as far as i've heard about this snake and many other snakes the aim of the snake is to aim for the place that causes that inflicts the most harm this is that verse fulfilled and listen to what verse 16 says this is god continuing the remedy to this situation called sin to the woman he said i will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception church if you're like me and you're a woman i've never heard a woman coming out of labor saying yeah today it was fun never every woman who comes from the labour ward comes with sorrow but is comforted by the embrace of a child and yet the bible speaks along to conception itself it says conception and even today doctors are still struggling with in vitro fertilization with miscarriages because of this verse amen listen to what it says in pain you shall bring forth children and the last part says your desire shall be for your husband and listen he shall rule over you [Music] amen church it's okay if i don't get amens it's okay this is the part when god looks like the devil and yet he is god prescribing to a sin-sick world the best remedy for the survival to the sin-sick world i know a lot of women don't like hearing that he shall rule over you in fact the world has fought that statement from the time from time immemorial till now i remember when i was younger beyonce would sing independent woman and we would sing if you like independent and we were so confident i was so disappointed i'll preach this now as a young person i was so disappointed when she then sang dangerously in love and i said i thought we were independent what are you dangerously in love for the flesh has fought this and so god to make it easier for us through you see like i i think one thing that we have shared in this series is that god never loses control amen and so one thing he does is that when he realizes no no there's a misconception about the rulership of a man he goes and tells paul to explain to men how this rulership works and he says to him no you shall love your wife as christ loved the church amen that is your rulership and died for it that is your rulership amen and he says to the woman you shall submit to your husband as the church to christ amen and from there we get the comfort of knowing that none is oppressed in the equation amen that god's rulership is a rulership that is divine and loving and as the pastor said yesterday it is easy to love in fact the other day it is easy to love a woman who submits and it is easy to submit to a man who loves it is this is a reciprocal relationship amen and so we must pray for the guidance of the spirit to understand these heavy words which seem heavy but are actually easy can i tell you something interesting i'm a lawyer are you with me church i'm a lawyer and uh you know the constitution human rights this is this is our thrusts you know particularly the field i am right now i work particularly with access to justice you understand what i'm saying but there is something about the human rights that can never exceed the divine right the if you ask a happily married lawyer what the secret to her profession is if you're like me if she is like me she'll tell you that it is knowing that i'm a lawyer at work and a wife at home amen and enjoying the two in their different worlds listen if you as a woman want to sleep with your human rights you stay with the pillow written human rights and no husband this is family life amen so i can say this amen i i i will tell you for certain that if we take up the human right and ignore the divine right for which we are called to that is why the bible says i die daily to the flesh because we want to be sanctified in christ we will lose the plot and today feminism rose in its extremities and makes us forget that all of us are feminists amen do you know that you and i are feminists if you take if you are a parent out there and you're watching this and you have daughters and you're taking them through school you are feminist if you are a brother and you have a sister that went through school and you're asking her when did you manage to get that job you're a feminist are you with me church if your idea of success is seeing another woman doing just as well as you are you are a feminist and so i must i i would like to conclude this evening that god himself was the first feminist remember when he created eve he never took the bone from the knee when he created eve he never took the bone from the head he took it from the side because the two were to work in partnership adam and eve and yet when sin came because he realized the situation is different he said to the man you shall rule this woman and to the woman your desire shall be for your wife that'd be for your husband it is understanding that this rulership is not oppressive that allows us to appreciate god for his wisdom and his love the devil has so presented god as an evil god as a tyrant as seeking just justice and not mercy and yet god elaborates through his word that god made them one and he made them to enjoy marriage as one with none oppressing the other which man is happy who oppresses his husband's wife tell me which man and which woman is happy that controls her husband back home women are now taking they are resorting to juju i don't know black magic to take the mind of the man and we call it or being fed i don't know how i can put it this side that the man cannot think he's just it's just a body which woman would like to live with with just the body i would love to live with a man and as the saying goes there can never be two bulls in the same crowd if there's one thing that i've seen that is pleasing to a woman it's a masculine man a man who takes charge as a man and if there's anything that is more satisfying to a man it's a feminine woman i can imagine my husband walking in on me one day and i'm busy fixing the generator now what i'm trying to do he feels displaced and yet if i call him with a type of daddy the car the car there's a punt i don't know what to do he feels the responsibility of coming to save me and i love to be saved do you know how much i would love to be the damsel in distress that is my joy and pride and if you're with me and you're a woman say amen i love being feminine i love wearing the pinks i love wearing heels at no point do i want to compete with a man i want to enjoy my submission to my husband and my father my father-in-law would then say to me one day my young daughter my daughter a woman rules like a submarine you don't see her but you feel her i'm telling you today if most men today were told by their women i don't think today we can make it for the program most of them would be absent because of those few gentle words but watch a woman who says where are you going and that man will say she is annoying just a simple line just a simple line that defines the truth anyway i want to say something two wrongs never make a right though we've been oppressed as women in the past and i appreciate this i understand i offer all people understand though we have been a pre up oppressed in the past oppressing another person doesn't make it right amen i'll give you a story in one nordic country northern of europe that's what nordic means there was a problem of wolves there were so many wolves and these walls in fact there were wolves and these walls were were killing so much deer that you know the the the locals were getting frustrated are you with me church they were so frustrated because the wolves were killing the deers and they thought look let's let's save these animals they're in jeopardy so you know what these locals did they went after each and every wolf and they killed them when they killed them they experienced the new problem and the new problem was that the deers were now destroying the land because they were overpopulated they were now growing in numbers and you see unlike wolves if you've ever noticed predators give birth to smaller number of children and then they have to go through those fights where they kill each other are you with me church whereas the herbivores the the you know the grazers and all these they give birth to a lot of children they give birth more often than the predators do and so it was sooner than later that the locals realized that the deers were now doing damage to the to in fact it's called deforestation they caused a lot of deforestation because their numbers were multiplying rapidly and nothing could stop them so guess what they had to do they had to bring back wolves what i'm saying here is not to bring back oppression but what i'm saying is bring back a man into the marriage yes your father abused you but bring back the man in the marriage feminism is right but it must be neither to the right nor to the left because both extremities are wrong the bible talks about how the path to salvation how the path to god is difficult it says narrow is the path that leads to salvation and it says few there be that find it church i implore us today as women to not get lost with the little foxes of extremities to not get lost in the wave of the world that has come in with a feminism that ridicules god's plan because it is a divine plan how beautiful it would be if we make our homes a little heaven on earth where our children see mother and father working as a team to the progressiveness and the success of the family unit the devil is attacking left right and center and if we do not realize that even we as you women are being lured to the temptation of forgetting our ancestry in eve we can get lost in sin let me conclude and say this god said and i want to read in verse 31 and chapter 31 of proverbs in verse 10. who can find a virtuous wife for her worth is far above rubies the heart of her husband safely trusts her so he will have lack he will he will have no lack of gain amen she does him good and not evil all the days of her life who can find a virtuous woman the question who means that these people are becoming scarce each and every day let us remember that it is god who instituted marriage and he so knows how best to carry our marriages and may we ask that his spirit may guide us so that we may not depart from this law neither to the left nor to the right but fulfill our mandate that when christ comes again he will say of us well done thy good and faithful servant enter into thy rest which is prepared for thee let us pray heavenly father thank you so much what a message what a time a time when the devil has confused convoluted the truths that you have given us has given us extremities as the best solution to those to this world and its problem i pray that lord god you must you may draw us back that where we had taken things in its extremities we may see your hand raised up high for us you've always wanted us to succeed as women you've always enjoyed seeing us work for you help us lord god not to be carried away by the wiles of the devil but to be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves to do your bidding on this earth and to prove ourselves worthy and knowledgeable that sin does exist because our ancestry proves it help us to trust in you david says my heart safely trusts in your in you o lord i will not be moved so lord god help us in this time to submit to you and resist the devil so that he may flee for us from us all others i pray in jesus mighty name amen amen and we thank you for that wonderful sermon it was personally a wonderful pleasure
