3D Rotating Logo in After Effects

[Music] hi everyone and welcome to another quick tutorial with me michael tourney today we're going to have a look at the quickest and easiest way how to create 3d shapes in adobe after effects so let's get started first jump into adobe illustrator and you can create a shape using a pen tool like this or use your own logo and just put it on a separate layer like this and save this file jump into adobe after effects right click import file control and i is a shortcut select the share player composition return layer sizes import double click this and there's our share player there right click create create shape from vector layer and then we can delete this one so we have the share player now you can also create this directly in adobe after effects but i prefer adobe illustrator to create the shapes initially we'll then change our shape layer into a 3d layer by clicking this button here and then come up here to classic 3d and then change classic 3d to cinema 4d and then this will change some properties in here which will enable us to extrude the shape click ok pull down the properties look at geometry we'll extrude it by 60 and then create a new camera so layer new camera ctrl alt shift and c is a shortcut click okay we'll then use our camera move tool here and we'll orbit around our share player and if you click and hold this you can move around in different areas so use the pan tool to move around this way the dolly tool to zoom in and out and then the orbit tool to move around we'll next go layer new light select the spotlight 120 for the intensity click okay and then if we hit p on this we can move the position of the light in to the top left corner like that then we'll come down to our shear player hit r and we'll move on the y rotation so we'll keyframe it here move to five seconds and we'll hit one so there's one full rotation over five seconds like this if you want to adjust the intensity of the light just double click on the spotlight there and then feel free to bring that up to 160 there and then you'll get a nice shine as it rotates and there we are the quickest and easiest way how to create a 3d sheer player in adobe after effects don't forget to like comment and subscribe and feel free to follow me on instagram tiny.tv thanks for watching you
