[Music] hello and welcome to the earth as it was a very long time ago a hundred million years ago in fact out there in the night sky as an asteroid that's on a collision course with the earth if and when it hits it could wipe out the most extraordinary group of animals that have ever appeared on this planet the dinosaurs but today we can go and have a look at them ourselves this is a Thai Tama so if I was on an ordinary television program I'd say that it was about 40 meters long which is as long as three double-decker buses in line and that it could reach up to the top of a five-story building we could see for himself shall we [Music] at 70 tons it weighed as much as 15 African bull elephants and the body that size needs a huge skeleton to support it these are accurate copies of over 220 bones that were discovered in Patagonia in 2013 [Music] to keep such a huge body supplied with blood needed an immense heart it weighed three times as much as I do and could circulate 90 liters of blood with a single beat [Music] [Music] vast air sacks fed into its lungs so it could extract oxygen both when it breathes in and when it breathes out some birds the closest living relatives of dinosaurs and have a similar sort of system and unusually these enormous thighs had huge tendons running through them which are connected to the tail so it could help in lifting its trunk sized legs and there it goes the largest animal ever to walk on our planet it truly was an extraordinary creature who knows how many more await discover it lying in the earth or indeed are still around [Music]
