let's see if she has a 300 yards bud absolutely try not to destroy my camera down there man this thing barks doesn't it that it does gooder patter let's get at her Wow that sign is totally gone target is gone let's see if I can find that same point aim here yeah first shot it blew it right off must have hit a dead center 4,000 foot bones energy that's what it looks like wallet is loud you can hear that clanking way the way back here oh my should I shoot the leg hold it up no magnetic parks whoa let's go down and check how you did on the steel plate [Music] well so much for the bullseye sticker what do you think your Shawn already think impacted here probably one two three four five night yeah use one two and three I don't know where the fourth is check out some water in there check out that video one word [Music] [Music] Mirage is pretty brutal on that sand well hey Shawn thanks for joining me out the 300 yard range with your Ruger precision rifle and 338 Lapua so when did you get this rifle got this rifle pretty much as soon as they were available yeah it was well probably around January February times yeah where'd you get from you know for shields right yeah where'd you get out of the door for a little over 1,600 with tags that's not too bad so what kind of scope and mount your rock in there I've got a vortex mg I had problems with the mount at first because I got them too sure where the bell was hit enough real on the rifle so a couple of trips back and forth with the wrong size rings I just settled on a vortex regular cantilever mount you lead the first one I tried at a twenty MOA but I couldn't zero at a hundred yards because I'm planning on shooting this rifle at a mile but this is just a regular no mo a cantilever base yeah just writing off the measure of angle rail base itself would you guys 30 minutes of angle building to the real yeah and then you got a looks like a level there - is that a fork texture that's a vortex level which is a must for shooting at long range so you don't can't your rifle and miss your target yeah so tell me about the scope vortex AMG it's a great scope it's made here in the USA just like the Ruger RP are unlike other scopes that are made out of country oh yeah I'm pleased with it the clarity is awesome no first-rate american-made glass that it is where'd you get that out the door for I actually was gonna put this on my 6 5 RP are the shoe product production class and the PRS but the MSRP is too high even though I bought this off the door for $19.99 nice otherwise it's pretty much pulling stock right yeah everything on this rifle is stock magazines and running magazines and everything that that breaks pretty hellacious double gets a park to it doesn't it'll definitely wake up the neighbors at the shooting range away so uh tell me about your reloading adventure with us era your start was a little rough wasn't it uh the start was horrible I took suggestions from a friend that works over the edge heals he's like well the ruby our PR has a one in nine and a half inch twist so it's ideal for the three under green bullets so I went with the burger OT ounces start out with I started with Burger suggested max which was somewhere around eighty five point four grains of each one thousand yeah I wasn't getting they did a ladder chest up to one green one tenth of a green and I wasn't getting the velocities I want so I stepped it up even more and in my letter ladder test I accidentally jumped up one full green which worked to my advantage thing Philippe well now is that over max way over max true and what Berger suggested max was and you really couldn't find a decent accuracy so you know real I couldn't find anything whatever at all with it yeah so I ended up starting at eighty five point four greens and then I worked my way all the way up to ninety one point seven grains of h1000 what kind of velocities were you getting over that top end power drop well I got the best as these with 91.5 grains h1000 and what kind of STIs it was about 6.7 yeah yeah 5.7 for an SD and there goes a deer oh sorry about that for a wildlife is flying take a look at this deer here so anyway he's back on track so you kind of what took my advice in Swiss over some serum at Kings right that I did with the burger otm s3 under green I could barely hold minute of angle granted each 1000 was only powder I used I didn't try a tumble which people suggest you get higher velocities with I didn't want to mess with that because I use each 1000 for a bunch of other calibers so I can just buy an econ jug be done so I took Todd's advice and switched over 300 green see her match Kings I started working up it took some advice from online where to start because I couldn't get any good solid data from Sierra because you have to purchase your rights to get their dad or whatever they're now even though I have a book but not for the 300 green sierra matchking yeah so what do you are you pretty much down you're low development now are you still kind of working on it i am still working on it yeah so right now we're just gonna take look three three shot groups yeah yeah we're gonna take three three shot groups at 300 yards 100 yards has been pretty good so far i believe i'm at eighty nine point four grains of h1000 behind this 300 greens here match king versus the 91 five with a burger I'll get a couple more rounds out of the poem so with cover to these rounds costing you with your reloads for every pull the trigger well I'm on my second batch of the pool of brass so I'm in the 200 rounds so roughly per rounds that running yeah reloading by yourself reloading by myself starting out it's about four dollars around okay so cheap no that first hundred rounds with the burgers was frustrating as they lose haha well cool well let's take some shots here so we're just still doing some low development we're gonna take three three shot groups at 300 yards correct that's correct me what we can get sounds good [Music] oh this thermals are getting real bad yeah a bad one not too damn shabby buddy yeah except for that one flyer yeah that one flier kind of kind of screwed yeah was that the very last one or the very first one yeah but you have this first one here is probably what three quarters of an inch I would say about an inch maybe inch and a quarter and this one I think we'll just disregard I don't know what's going on with this flyer but those first two three shot groups look pretty good especially for little development [Music] you [Music]
