3281 Kansas DOT inspection

hey everybody you gotta get here once again sorry to keep bothering ya okay we're coming up to the Kansas State scale here oh look at that they got a lot of trucks over there look at all those trucks they got over there yep today is the 72-hour d-o-t inspection blitz they got one two three four five about five bub actually there's a lot more than that they're doing their own thing today Oh looks like we've been pulled around doing grief it's late we're going to be inspected so where's a good place to park absolute check on your paperwork okay you can gather up for me papers on the load your truck driver's license or you pay for electronic fault all right look tronic okay I'll look at it the minute I gather that stuff up and I'll get some information off your trailer I'll be right back all right there we go but you got a log out here Oh what in the world is this driving two off-duty here we go I guess this is just gonna be a level one inspection all right let's see how we could do long yeah all right you pull up the graph for me okay there we go this is my today's vlog see let me go back yeah yeah they're all back that was yesterday and then I had my 34-hour reset tell me when to stop today there that's a date I can tell this way is yeah 526 526 okay go back a couple that's it that's as far as it okay alright go back to yesterday's okay alright this is 26 this is a 27 28 29 30 and then 31 and anyone what time did you start your day that day I can't tell from here looks like you love it eleven okay all right so you went up to midnight okay going to the next day which is yesterday right today oh oh today yesterday is a second and I drove until about one o'clock how many hours were in the sleeper berths there for a year tail honking honking I get it that little blue lines on top makes it look like you're spread out more but yeah nope that work give me this few minutes to do your paperwork and we'll get you back on your way then pull come open your door I need to get a number off the inside okay thank you yep and I suppose this is the best time to do a he is watching this okay uh do the status and then other what's other category inspect then remarked and then d-o-t check off-duty to on duty there you go so now while he's running all the running all that license and registration and all that stuff well the truck has been in the shop miss Lewis but basically today is only going to be checking for paper working away he's now gonna be doing a truck inspection or level two and let's have you sundial photos right underneath your name no violations of paperwork could you clarify something for me clock right okay our safety says that when you guys I asked for our logbook all we need to do is show you the manual of it now not necessarily I mean some guys don't understand not sure how to use it I mean even the drivers some guys like for us they like to go in and look themselves yeah to me I don't want to mess up what you got so I just want to go look at the graph and that's really all I want to see like that but you can argue I mean there's no real comfortable run in it you know that's what I'm saying supposedly we don't have to show you but like really you know that's that's why I what I asked you because I don't want to yeah yeah is it I mean that wouldn't be any different than that's a pretty long but yeah I mean you have to show that yeah that's why you know are this another question what is the purpose the real purpose of safe haven some people say safe haven is only for hazmat drivers no like I mean if if if we look at something like especially if you're placed out of service yeah yeah you have to be in the same thing necessarily no I'm I'm talking about if you ran over your 11 hours let's say let's say you had good hours that you've mapped out your stops and then you got caught in traffic or that stop that you're intended to go through what's closed right and then you end up going usually to show me that sells to go to yeah you go on over 15 minutes or half hour tour ever the next available see if they even say you David yeah oh you know it's obviously something very broad as far as definition goes but some place where you've got plenty of room to go off you know you're not necessarily parked on side of the road yeah a good place where you got room maybe some facilities yeah yeah but you know like I don't know I mean obviously you'd have some facilities here but if you took this parking area and didn't have that there to me that's a safe haven I mean you know you're got room to bark it's you're off the road you're not obstructing anything I can look up the definition for you if it even has one if you want me hey that's that's fine what about the over to 30-minute break mandatory break sometimes you get caught in traffic like it downtown Chicago there's no place to break and again that's something you know as far as timing wise goes that okay are you wait until you're seven and a half hour mark to try and get your 30-minute break in did you have time for hours before that where you get a good safe place you put them stop you know that you were that's kind of just discretionary you've you out right yeah well I mean and if you can believe it or not people don't always tell us the truth so if you say well I was in traffic I've been in traffic for three hours you know I just didn't have time to get there well how do we know that you know me you know what I'm saying yeah yeah but you've been a really nice but yes you have a safe trip you've got that left line you don't have to cross the scales oh that's good thank you well that concludes our DoD inspection for today what else we need to do here yeah let's go blue that's one fine officer Italian let me cut this off the way of yeah
