Hello-hello, reading people! Welcome to this video where we will know '30 Sonic 2: The Hedgehog Curiosities' Released in 2022, the film has managed to raise more than $350M to date,
surpassing its predecessor and positioning itself as the fifth film based on a video game
with higher collection. For those who haven't noticed, one difference that Sonic's fur in this movie has,
with his other depictions, is that his arms, here are blue in color whereas in games and other media they have normally been
the color of his snout, with a few exceptions. So as a small nod to that, in the movie,
the Sonic little doll, made by Badnik, is more similar to the color of his original arms. The bird masks worn by the beings Robodnik faces are colored green, purple, and gray, though it's hard to tell
from the scene's lighting. But this is a reference
to the group of Babylonians that first appeared in the Sonic Riders game. The fact that the first time
we see Knuckles is on the planet of mushrooms is appropriate,
if we consider that the first time
the red echidna was playable was in the game 'Sonic & Knuckles, whose first world
was also themed with mushrooms, in the first scene of Sonic we see him standing on top of a building watching a police chase, just as it happens in the scene of the video game 'Sonic Adventures', likewise, in said game, there is a point at which water begins to shoot out of the sewers, marking the arrival of a certain creature. And although it does not appear
here in the film,, it was decided to include a reference to what happened with the sewers. Josh Miller, one of the writers of these films, in his youth had a Golden Retriever
named Ozzie, for which, in honor of that, the family dog in these films is named after him. For a moment, we see Sonic getting a Moho hairdo, which is reminiscent of the American design the hedgehog previously had. Where he was shown with his spikes positioned in a row, making him look like he had a mohaican, followed by a skateboard that has the same artwork
as promotional art for the game 'Sonic Adventures'. One of the posters for this movie recreates the cover of the game
'Sonic the Hedgehog 2', although the poses of Sonic and Tales seem to be inspired
by the cover of 'Tekken 6', something that Katsuhiro Harada
commented was true. Another small detail
is that Knuckles' eyes are subtly incorporated into the poster, in the same way that they are hidden
in the cover of the game 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3'. When they are escaping
from Knuckles Sonic refers to him as Clifford, a character that Paramount To whom they had made an adaptation
the previous year. Following that Knuckles
goes through a water truck that bears the name of Splash Hills, being the first area of the game 'Sonic the Hedgehog 4' At Agent Rock's cafeteria bar we see a small goat figure, alluding to the beats with goat's milk that he made for Doctor Robodnik
in the previous film. Likewise, the cafeteria is named Mean Bean, after the game
'Dr. Robotnik Mean Bean Machine' For this sequel, Dr. Robotnik now has a greater resemblance
to his game version, and although
he is still not pot-bellied we do see his characteristic
round shape as a representation in some parts, some new shaped drones also appear as wasp form. being a nod to the Buzzbombers of video games. And of course, his round-shaped flying vehicle
is also incorporated. When they arrive at the tavern and Tales uses one of his gadgets, we see on the screen the numbers "11.21.92", this being the date on which the game 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' came out where Tales had his first appearance. For a moment Robotnik
uses the expression "Wrong-o", just as the Grinch said. Played by Jim Carrey himself. In that same scene, we are shown a small hologram of Sonic with his hands on his waist
and moving his foot just like the character's idle animation in several of the games. During the dance battle, while moving terribly. Sonic mentions that
Channing Tatum makes it look easy, of course, alluding
to the 'Magic Mike' movies. Seconds later,
when they get the hang of it, the hedgehog imitates his pose
in the 'Sonic Adventures' game. When he tries to escape
from Robotnik and Knuckles Sonic starts snowboarding just like he did in a level
from 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3'. Minutes later he calls Tom and it's clearly heard
that his tone is the soundtrack
of the Green Hill Zone, the first zone of the first Sonic game - "Sorry, I thought it was silent." In this sequel,
Sonic once again says the theme line from 'Sonic X'. But unlike the previous film, where he says it
as soon as he wakes up, here he does i
just as he is preparing to run with a close-up of his face, which in turn is reminiscent
of that first trailer with the controversial design, where he also said the phrase - "Gotta go fast" The temple where
the master emerald is located, apart from including
easter eggs to Indiana Jones, is based more on the Labyrith Zone level, with notable references such as owl-shaped engravings on the walls, colorful crystal formations, and the fact that Sonic arrives at the place by sliding down
several slopes with water, which also appear in that area of the game. Finally finding the Master Emerald we are shown that Eggman plans to betray Knuckles
by electrocuting him. Similar to how he did it
in the video game Sonic and Knuckles', followed by that,
when Sonic arrives, Knuckles begins to fight with him and for a moment he throws a flurry of fists, which he misses, due to how fast the hedgehog is, as it happened in episode 5 of 'Sonic X'. When the temple is destroyed, the whole area begins to flood and when he tries to save Knuckles, Sonic absorbs an air bubble to have a little more oxygen. A small easter egg to what
he has to do in the game when it is underwater. When we are shown
a Gun helicopter, we see that it has "SA-2" written in reference to 'Sonic Adventures 2', where this organization
appeared for the first time and can also be associated with the Sigma-Alpha 2 group, who had Sonic captive in its helicopter. This sequel includes the iconic red biplane that was first seen in the game 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' and although the one here
does not have Sonic's name, we do see the number 761. Being a small nod that goes back to one of the character's origins. a kinetic gyroscope
to test his speed, and by breaking the sound barrier
he destroyed the machine, this accident was what gave him
this characteristic blue fur. The giant climax robot It is based
on both the Dead Egg-Robot From 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' and the Giant Egg-robot From 'Sonic and Knuckles', the latter being powered by the Master Emerald,
similar to the one in this movie. Although it should be noted
that the one here has an auxiliary mode that allows it to function
even without it. For a moment, Agent Roca shows the manual of the robot whose style is particularly based on the design
of the instruction manual of 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' substituting, of course,
the name of the console for the aliases of the villain. During the fight with the drones, Knuckles grabs Sonic
and throws him like a ball, a move the echidna can do in the Sonic Heroes game where the team fights multiple enemies simultaneously , just like they do
in this scene. When Sonic asks Eggman what his plan is. He mockingly mentions
if he will build himself a robot wife. Something that is not
so far from being true. Since in the series
'Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog'. because of Robotnik wanted someone
to serve and love him decided to build a robot wife. Going over the bridge,
Eggman with his robot comes out from below and launches a powerful nose attack, to which Sonic tries to avoid it as the ground crumbles. All of this is a easter egg to the end of 'Sonic and Knuckes'. Where the robot comes out from
below and starts shooting fire from its nose as the platform falls down. The fact that Sonic transforms just before being crushed
by Eggman's robot had also happened
in one of the Sonic comics, likewise the final battle against the robot is also reminiscent of the 'Sonic X' series where the transformed hedgehog caught a Eggman's giant robot hit and disabled the machine
by running through it several times, just like he did here. In April 2022 Jim Carrey mentioned that he plans
to retire from acting. Being 'Sonic 2: The Hedgehog' probably his last movie. Regarding this, the producers commented that they do not plan
to replace the actor since no one could fill his shoes, so they remain hopeful that Jim will be encouraged to return with a next movie. In the end, while playing baseball, Knuckles doesn't get the point of the game, to which Sonic says, Just what he told himself
in the first movie, when he was playing by himself. Thus reflecting
how things have changed, Well, despite saying the same thing this time he does have company. In that same scene, when Sonic explains to Knuckles what ice cream is, he asks if it has grapes. - "Dessert? Do you serve it with grapes?" This is because, as revealed in the 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3' manual, Knuckles is fascinated by grapes. - "The grapes are delicious". Like the previous one,
his sequel had mostly positive reviews, highlighting the interaction of the characters
from the Sonic universe, Knuckles' humor,
the action sequences, and the creative inclusion of certain areas or key moments of the games. On the other hand,
among the most criticized are those parts that involved humans, those that did not have
Sonic, Tales or Knuckles feeling very stuffed, lengthening the film unnecessarily, but in general it had
more successes than setbacks. unlike most video game adaptations that have been made, so with its already announced third part,
and the Knuckles series, it seems that this universe
will be on the right track. If you liked the video, let me know by giving it a thumbs up and sharing it with your friends. I also want to thank the members
who have supported the channel, And before I go I send a big shout out to… And well, that's all. Bye. - "The grapes are delicious".
