3 PERFECT Card Controls Every Magician Should Use!

hey what's up guys MLT magic tricks here so in today's video i'm gonna be teaching you how to perform three really good card controls that can be used in a variety of curt tricks to either control your spectators car to the top of the deck or the bottom of the deck so I do recommend you guys stick around and learn these card controls but really quickly before we get into this tutorial here I let's get straight into the tutorial for the first card control okay so the first card control here is pretty simple you're going to start off by having respect ATAR choose a card so in this case let's say their card is the three of clubs and then what you're gonna do is basically dribble off half of the deck like this and then you're gonna instruct your spectator to place their selection right there in the middle of the deck your spectator goes ahead and places their card right there in the middle and what you're gonna do with this top portion is you're going to start dribbling the cards toward the bottom portion of the packet like this towards you and then you're gonna move up as you finish off the dribble so this is what its gonna look like there you kind of dribble off the cards like that's starting towards the back portion of the pack and then when you come over here with your other hand to square up the deck you're really going to be pulling up from that point where you start dribbling the cards and then that allows you to get a natural thumb break like so separating the two halves of the deck and right there that separation is going to be your spectators card just like that so one more time here you start dribbling towards the bottom forces attack you come over that's a little bit exaggerated there guys obviously but you get the point there you lift up like that with your thumb you get that natural thumb break obviously when you're performing this you're gonna want to make a little bit smaller like that then you simply with the thumb break you just do a double undercut there you double undercut those you know bottom portion of cars they're to the top and you've just controlled your spectators card now to be top of the Dec and there's another way you can do this you can just start off by dribbling enough cards you have your strategical stuff this in this case this would be their card you six of clubs then you just you know continue dribbling but you start towards you like that you lift up with your thumb there and double undercut the bottom portion of cards right there to the top users control these six of clubs in this case their selection to the top of the deck so guys that is the first card control now let's get straight into the second one here so the second one involves your spectator basically just touching a card as you're spreading up the deck like this let's say they touch this card right here we're gonna separate the top portion of cards from where they you know touch that card you're gonna lift it up and say okay this card right here is gonna be your selection then as you're turning the deck up to show them this top card what you're really doing is gonna be pulling back on that top card like this squaring it up with the deck and then you're gonna be showing them the second card there which in this case is the Jack of Diamonds but it's all going to be happening as you're turning your hand up like that so your spectator does not really catch what you're doing there so one more time here I'm gonna show you what it looks like you know altogether in slow motion so your spectator touches the card okay separate you push over the top two is really important you kind of ebook you separate them from the deck as you're turning your hand up you pull that one back like that so your spectator does not see that movie room say okay your car's gonna go ahead and be king of clubs and as you're bringing your hand back like this you're just gonna slide off the top card there and your spectator thinks okay that was the king of clubs or whatever but in reality it's a random card they're the Jack of Diamonds and then they're thought of selection that is gonna be right here on this packet obviously don't turn this card over just keep it facedown you're gonna be doing that all really quickly you can just expect to eat okay we're gonna go ahead and get your car to lost somewhere in the middle at the deck you take the bottom portion bring it on top and you've just control their car to the top of the deck so I'm gonna go over that move one more time here your spectator touches a card you separate you push over the top two cards from where they cult stop you pull over the top card as you're bringing your hand up okay ace of diamonds then as you're bringing your hand back down you're turning it over you're going to slide off the top card respect to your thinks that was ace of diamonds in reality ace of diamonds is right here on top then you guys can do a couple things here you can just simply you know place there right there on top of this packet or if you're a little bit more advanced you can go ahead and place your car right here in the middle but obviously guys that's not their car that's the car they think is as their selection but it's really random car then with your other hand here you can kind of regrip the deck like so you open it up with your thumb and you just place all these cards right there in the middle square it up and you have just you know controlled their card to the top so either way guys that is what that second card control looks like I practice that one a little bit to make sure all the moves look fluent but obviously that was the slow motion you know kind of breakdown of that specific card control so now I'm going to get into the third and final card control here so obviously a lot of the credit controls that I do on the channel when I perform card tricks to you guys is the double undercut so I'm gonna go over the double undercut really quickly and then I'm gonna get into some variations of the double undercut that you can do to control a spectators car to the top or the bottom of the deck so obviously a double undercut looks like this respect to your chooses a card in this case we had before diamonds you break open about half the deck your spectator puts their card in you maintain a break when you put that top portion back on you transfer that to a thumb break and you go ahead and cut half of the bottom portion of cards to the top take the final packet banks at the top just like that and you have been controlled their cars to the top of the deck so that's what the double undercut looks like it's really effective and really you know easy for card control to do and here's another very hyouta variation of it so your spectator chooses a card you break open about half a pack you put when your spectator puts their card in you maintain the break just like this and instead of transferring it over to a thumb break you simply just maintain the pinky break and you just can take half the cards from the top there place them down take you can just do another you know pass like that but the final packet you're gonna cut you're gonna put down or the second final packet is going to be all the cards from the top of the break set that down take the final packet put it on and you have just controlled their car to the top so that's a variation of it it's basically you maintaining a pinky break there and now here's a different way you can go about doing this double undercut type move but it's a little bit different because it involves your spectator and you know go ahead and they go and choose a card and then what you're gonna do is you can have them out joggers in this case we have the eight of diamonds you're gonna keep it like this you're gonna say okay we're gonna keep your card out jog like this you're gonna place a deck on the table and here is what you're gonna do so if you're right-handed you're gonna want to keep the car out dog to your right side if you're left-handed and you're gonna go ahead and keep it out choke to your left but either way this is what the move looks like so slow motion you're gonna be coming over here with both your hands and with your right hand or left hand depending on which side of the car does that jog you're gonna kind of push downwards like that and what that allows you to do is basically have their card now it's out jogs towards you and you come over here you're going to be applying pressure downwards with your thumb as you're coming over you're gonna be kind of pushing downwards on the pack like that getting this thumb break now you simply just do a cut from the brake bringing that bottom portion right there to the top you say you're spectate okay we're gonna go and cut the cards there and you have just controlled their selection to be top of the deck so one more time here respect to your chooses a card you out jog it just like so you're gonna hey we're gonna take your car we're gonna keep it out jog like so make sure just a little bit like that but you know an inch half an inch to an inch whatever works that works you know just fine you come over here really quickly you can with the right hand there you go diagonally on the corner the card you get your little separation there and then you cut the deck just like that from the out car that's out jog towards you and you've just controlled there card to the top of the deck so guys those are three card controls with some variations in there that are very useful and effective and I definitely recommend you guys do these card controls and one more thing here guys so let's say you control you know card to the top using any one of those three methods and then you can let's say you need to bring their card to the bottom here's a couple ways you can do that so you go over here with your thumb get a break just like this below the top card in this case that would be respect to your selection then you just do a double undercut like this bringing it to the bottom so you take half the cards on the bottom of the deck you place them on top you're still maintaining that break you take the rest of the cards just like that bring them to the top and you just control your spectators card to the bottom one more method you guys can do that's really easy to bring a card from the top of the deck to the bottom it's just doing some overhand shuffle so you first slide up cars like that to the bottom and all you do is just finish the overhand shuffles like this maintaining the car there on the bottom then you can just do some arch hanging shuffles as well I like to do this a lot because it's really convincing that you're mixing up the deck but in reality you're keeping the card on the bottom so you apply pressure they're here four fingers you just do overhand shuffles over there their selection on the bottom just like that so that's a way to get the card you know from the top of the deck to the bottom from doing you know any one of those three card controls so guys that's going to wrap it up for the video I hope all of these card controls in this video I explained made
