Good morning everyone. I'm Natsumi. I traveled to Taiwan for 3 nights and 4 days on a low-cost airline. This time, I found some delicious local restaurants and minor sightseeing spots, so I hope this will be helpful to you. It's raining in Japan, but the weather in Taiwan is I hope everything goes well and I'm off to go. After a 4-hour flight, we safely arrived at Taoyuan International Airport. Purchase an IC card at the airport and take the train from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Main Station. Charge some money first. Take line 2 towards Taipei Main Station. There are rapid trains and local trains, and the prices are the same. The rapid train takes 35 minutes to get to Taipei Station, while the local train takes 50 minutes. This time I rode fast. The inside of the MRT looks like this, and there is plenty of room in the seats. Don't worry if you have a suitcase. [Music] We arrived at Taipei Station in no time. The hotel is located in Ximen, so I will have a layover. Everyone on the train was silently looking at their smartphones or sleeping, just like in Japan. On the first day, go to West Gate, East Gate, and Night Market! Now, let's eat some delicious gourmet food in Ximen.A very popular restaurant in Ximen, Asong Noodle Lines, was recommended to me by a Taiwanese friend. It had a familiar taste with the bonito soup stock and the creamy noodles were very delicious. Next, get on the train and head towards the East Gate. When you get off at Dongmen Station, go to the street called Yongkang Street. Yongkang Street is my favorite street as it has many fashionable miscellaneous goods stores.Next , I visited a shop called Bai Shui Douhua, which is popular for making douhua, and even the utensils and spoons they use are stylish and tasteful. [Music] The brown sugar syrup was smooth and had just the right amount of sweetness. It was my first experience with tofu, and it had a refreshing taste. The peanut and tapioca toppings were very delicious. The staff was kind, so I highly recommend this restaurant. Next we came to Tianjin Leek Mochi, a shop on Yongkang Street that is famous for its green onion rice cakes. Last time there was a long line, but this time it was empty, probably because of the rain, so I was able to buy it right away. One plain is 30 yuan. The dough was so chewy and fluffy that I finished eating it in an instant. There are many miscellaneous goods stores on Yongkang Street, so be sure to check them out! I went to Bao Maison, which sells cute Taiwanese miscellaneous goods. The Taiwanese gourmet memo pad was so cute. Postcards with simple designs I love collecting postcards, so I purchased this without hesitation. Koraihao is a famous miscellaneous goods store on Yongkang Street that is often featured in tourist magazines. We carry a wide range of Taiwanese miscellaneous goods, souvenirs, interior goods, and fashion items. This is the perfect store for those who want to buy miscellaneous souvenirs.I was thinking of going to a night market that I had never been to on this trip, so I immediately decided to visit the store. I'm going to go to the big night market. Taiwan is so humid that I get short of breath even after walking a short distance. Taiwan Normal University seems to be nearby, so there were a lot of students there. Apparently, Konoyo is said to be one of the best apparel shops, and there were many shops like this these days. It's like Korea. I would like to visit one more night market tonight. I came to Linjiang Street Night Market and headed to the store I was looking for. ``Zheng Hao Fresh Meat Xiaolong Tang Bao'' is a popular Xiaolongbao restaurant known only to those in the know. There are only three things on the menu: Xiaolongbao, Shumai, and Hot and Sour Soup. . This time I will order xiaolongbao and hot and sour soup. It was very flavorful and tasted like it was made with plenty of spices unique to Chinese cuisine. I was looking forward to each xiaolongbao, each one big and delicious! The seasonings and sauce had plenty of self-serve green onions, and I was impressed by how delicious it was among all the xiao long bao I've ever eaten. Personally, I think it's better than Din Tai Fung. Recommended for those who want to eat authentic and delicious Xiaolongbao. I came here to eat senso celery. You can eat in or take out. I decided to order the standard menu for now. Senso jelly is a herb jelly from the mint family that is a little rare in Japan. It is slightly sweet, light, and easy to eat. And best of all, the taro and sweet potato dumplings that were topped with it were sweet, chewy, and delicious. It was a hot and humid day today, so it was great to cool down my body. There are many signs inside the store. I don't know if it's a celebrity's autograph, but it 's often featured in Japanese magazines, and Tsubasa Imai apparently came too. My uncle was charming and cute , but I'm already exhausted today, so let's go home. Enjoy a good night's sleep with some Taiwanese beer at the hotel. Good morning, the second day is off to Taichung! I'm going to Taipei Main Station to take the bullet train. I was able to buy tickets in Chinese! ! ! I'm so happy⭐️Rely on the markings at your feet to find out where to board the Shinkansen. The Shinkansen with such a cute design has arrived! I think there are many cute things in Taiwan. Now, let's take a ride on Taiwan's Shinkansen! Oh my goodness❔ It's like riding a Japanese Shinkansen. The language is Chinese, but the rest of the structure and atmosphere are almost the same. According to my research, it appears that the Taiwanese Shinkansen is made in Japan and is based on the 700 series Shinkansen. All the passengers were quiet and it was very comfortable for us Japanese people. While I was thinking about this, I arrived in Taichung in no time. It took just about an hour to get from Taipei to Taichung. Taichung Shinkansen Station is far from the center of Taichung, so you will need to take a train from there. First, walk from Taichung High Speed Rail Station to Shin Tori Station. The stations are connected, so you won't have to worry about getting there. I entered with an IC card. The atmosphere is already a little different from Taipei and I'm excited. We arrived at Taichung Station. As soon as I got off the stairs at the station, I found an interesting spot. Apparently the train has been remade and turned into a gift shop. There were cute miscellaneous goods for sale inside. It seems that vehicles on the opposite side can also enter. Plants were being sold on this side. HAUSING 1035 was originally a renovated building that was used as an otolaryngology clinic in the 1910s . The staff can also speak Japanese, so I was able to order with confidence. It seems that Taichung's very popular restaurant HAUSING CAFE has opened here as its second store. I ordered matcha chiffon cake. The rich cream is irresistible to matcha lovers. There were a lot of Japanese magazines in the store, so I was kind of happy to see them✨While I was enjoying the sweets, I planned my plans for the next day and tomorrow with my mom. I'm glad that I was able to overcome my desire to go smoothly. Next came the long-awaited Miyahara Eye Clinic, which has become a very popular tourist spot in Taichung.Miyahara Eye Clinic was built as an ophthalmology clinic in 1927 when Taiwan was underground in Japan, and a confectionery company restored the building. It was reopened as a sweets shop. The inside of the store is decorated in the image of a library, and each package of sweets is photogenic no matter where you look, and each one has a cute design that makes it perfect as a souvenir. The bright and Taiwanese retro design is really cute.It was so cute that I ended up buying a lot of souvenirs. Miyahara Eye Clinic is also famous for its ice cream, so be sure to give it a try! The journey through my body continues. There are not many Japanese or Nikkei shops in Taichung, so you can really feel that you are in a foreign country. I love this local atmosphere. There are fewer tourists in Taichung than in Taipei, so you can take a closer look at the city. I came to Taichung Park, which is loved by the people of Taichung! What I wanted to see was Koshintei, a symbol of the body. This park was built during the Japanese colonial period. The Japanese-style red bridge is very impressive. Once you cross the bridge, you will see a pavilion floating on the lakeside. The elegant European-style Huxin Pavilion was built in 1908 as a resting place for the imperial family visiting Taichung. The view from here was very beautiful and it felt good. Well, I have somewhere I want to go tonight, so it's time to head back to Taipei. Taichung is a moderately urban city with a moderately relaxing atmosphere, which made it a lot of fun. We arrived at a hotel in Taichung, which was very different from Taipei in its lush greenery and laid-back atmosphere , and we headed to Ximen, where it was crowded even at night. It's a city that never sleeps. The oyster omelet and pork rice are popular , and are made using the popular Tian Tianli plate. The menu is cheap and plentiful, and is made with handmade craftsmanship. Thank you for having a Japanese menu. There was a long line, but the turnover rate was slow and I was able to get into the store in less than 10 minutes. Contains plenty of luxurious oysters. It was so creamy and delicious that I highly recommend you to try it when you come to Ximen. The pork rice is unique and is an exquisite dish that Japanese people will definitely love. It's always crowded, but it was worth waiting in line for. There are many souvenir shops in Ximen. My mother, whose hobby is buying magnets when she travels, seems to have found her favorite. Xiao Long Bao's Magnet Cute Taiwanese specialty gourmet chicken dumplings. This is my third time in Taiwan, but this is my first attempt. The Taiwanese fried chicken was bigger than the palm of my hand.It was crunchy and delicious, but it was so big that I had a hard time...I was getting thirsty, so I decided to buy some fruit juice. It was lighter than I expected, and personally I think it would have been a little richer! Well, it's delicious so it's ok! ! ! Let's go back to the hotel Good morning 😁 It's the third day.On the third day, we will sightsee around Dihua Street and Zhongshan.Unfortunately , it's raining on the third day, but we'll have fun today too! In Taiwan, where it rains a lot, there are many sidewalks called ``chi towers'' that are semi-outdoor, so you don't have to worry about getting wet. Dihua Street, which has an attractive nostalgic streetscape, was developed by urban planning during the Japanese colonial period. It was a town with thriving commercial activities, especially as a wholesaler of tea leaves and dried cloth. Dihua Street is still a charming place lined with historic shops and wholesalers. I found a general store with many cute Taiwanese designs. The pictures on the postcards are so realistic and full of the Taiwanese feel that they are so cute. There was also a picture of Shilin Night Market. Why are Taiwanese miscellaneous goods so cute? I can't get enough of the soft atmosphere. There are many pottery and teaware shops in Taiwan. Among them, we stopped by Mingeicheng this time, which has a lot of beautiful pottery. And the display and space are tasteful. What a beautiful space Taiwan has beautiful greenery everywhere you go. There is also a cafe on the second floor, so be sure to check it out. Takaken is a popular basket bag store in Taiwan that has been introduced on the internet and in magazines. There are only Japanese people inside the store, and the prices are aimed at tourists... Good for people who want a basket bag but don't know what to do with it. I found a shop. The basket bags at the store I was looking for were priced at around 1,000 to 4,000 yen, but this shop also sold small size fisherman's net bags for 110 yen for 2 to 300 yen. I bought this because it was cheap and cute. I love using it both in my private life and when I go to work 💖 Once you cross the narrow passageway, you will find a quaint and lovely cafe that stands quietly. This cafe seems to have been renovated from a Taiwanese mansion from about 100 years ago.Taiwan has been around for a long time. He seems to be good at reproducing good things that have been passed down and creating new art and business. When I step outside, the greenery is beautiful again. Drink tea and take a break. Although the price is quite high, I was able to spend a relaxing time here and feel refreshed. It's the third day of my trip to Taiwan, and I'm a little tired, but I'm taking a breather to relieve my physical fatigue. I guess it's true that some Japanese people tend to have a tight schedule when they go on a trip. I would like to be able to take a relaxing trip someday. It seems that the bar and afternoon tea are also popular here, so be sure to give them a try. It seems that the rain stopped while I was at the cafe. This is Taiwan's urgent signal 🤣 I rode the train to Zhongshan Station. The area around Nakayama Station is full of fashionable general stores and clothing stores, and is a place where young people gather. It also has a Korean atmosphere. I came to a shop that sells pineapple cakes that are perfect as souvenirs. It comes in a cute paper wrapper and is individually wrapped, so it is recommended for the workplace. Next, we headed to a temple called Dalongtong Sangu Temple. This temple is said to be beneficial for health and longevity, and is one of the three major temples in Taipei. The colors and decorations are very beautiful. Since we came all the way to the temple, we decided to visit and see what we saw. Toss the poem and when it comes up heads and tails, draw a fortune. Right No. 55 Draw the fortune written on the number 4 on the right. I didn't really understand the content, but I hope it's a good one because it allows you to travel as much as you want. Light an incense stick and make an offering to purify your body and mind.In Taiwan, people kneel down to pray, a method of worship that is not seen in Japan.Paper coins are always burned at temples in Taiwan. There is a gold furnace for this purpose. The visit ends when you burn the paper coins. This golden paper coin seems to represent money offered to the gods. There was only one type of amulet for sale, but I bought it as a commemorative gift. Whenever I visit a temple in Taiwan, I feel purified. I feel like I've received a lot of power. Now that it was getting dark, I came to eat beef noodles for dinner. Laoshan Dong Beef Noodles in Ximen is a famous restaurant that has received the Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide. You can order by filling out a form on a piece of paper and ordering the beef noodles and soup dumplings you want. The beef bone-based soup contained thick noodles and melty beef cubes, and it was very delicious. The chewy skin of the boiled dumplings was also great. At first glance, the atmosphere looked like it would be difficult to enter, but inside it was a very busy and delicious restaurant. good morning! Finally, today is the last day.Today, we will go to Longshan Temple. Before going to Longshan Temple, we will have breakfast at Ximen. I came to eat Taiwanese gourmet soy milk soup for breakfast. The style is to take what you want to eat instead of ordering. It's been so crowded since the morning! The long-awaited soy milk soup is light and I can see why it is popular as a breakfast dish in Taiwan. There may have been more foreigners than locals, but it was delicious. After eating breakfast, I headed to Nagarezanji Temple. I tried drawing fortunes today as well. It was Kamigami, which is considered the second best! I wonder if something good will happen ✨ I'm going to buy a Taiwanese amulet and go home again this year. There is a piece of paper with the meaning of the amulet written on it, so look at it, write in the number, and place your order. The red brick wall of Longshan Temple seems to be a photo spot. I took the opportunity to take a walk around Longshan Temple and suddenly saw Bopiliao appear in the middle of the city. What kind of place is it? Bopiliao still maintains the beautiful streetscape that was created during the Qing Dynasty over 100 years ago. It is a place with impressive red bricks and mural art.It is said that the slightly scary-sounding name ``Bibariao'' came from the fact that at that time, wood brought from China was stripped of its bark and processed into paper. . In addition, it was recently used as a filming location for Taiwan's blockbuster movie ``Scattered in Monga'', so it is now a tourist spot and is visited by many tourists. A quaint dormitory with rows of lanterns. I'm happy to have found such an unexpectedly wonderful spot. Return to the west gate. I had some time left before my flight, so I went to the Ximen Red House, the symbol of Ximen. This building was designed by architect Juro Kondo, and inside there are cafes and retro Taiwanese goods shops. There are also interesting products such as art pieces made from crushed empty bottles. Now it's time to pick up my luggage at the hotel and head to the airport. Taoyuan Airport MRT can also be accessed from Taipei Station, but the route is complicated, so on the way back, you will need to take the underground passage at Beimen Station. It's very easy as there is only one road. There is also a moving walkway, so you can feel safe even if you have a lot of luggage on your way home. I was able to ride safely. I took the fast MRT on the way back, so it took 30 minutes to get to the airport. I bought a few souvenirs at the airport and before I knew it, it was time to go home😭Although it's a neighboring country, I'm drawn to the atmosphere of Taiwan, which seems similar yet dissimilar. It was another great trip, eating delicious food and seeing the wonderful cityscape. I'm sad that the trip I've been looking forward to has ended, but I'm sure it'll be back soon, so I'll be looking forward to it and working hard from tomorrow. Thank you for watching until the end. See you again in the next video.
