3 faux pillow scoop and drags and why I'm doing this... #acrylicpainting #fluidart #swipe

mine's on finder these are the colors that I'm going to use today Lagoon by this little piggy Southern Ocean Blue by Matisse pranite by this little piggy and Rose those are new This Little Piggy pigments this is oxide black by Amsterdam foreign we're gonna do my layered faux pillow I told you before, the idea behind it is a layer instead of using a colored pillow reasons vary for example colored pillows are hard to find at least the ones with the right consistency they're also more expensive, so a lot of people just put a layer of a solid color on top of the white two keep the consistency they need and also save a few bucks I do it because the scooping and dragging reveals such a depth and also if you layer paint underneath a solid color like I did in here with the rose you will see how a scoop and drag reveals the color underneath I freaking love it it's a very special it's very new I think it's a cool technique check it out here I do a regular swipe just with gold cell activator and boom gel and on the first side you see just a gold swipe on black but wait till I scoop up oh you can already see it the rose is peeking through a little bit and when I scoop and drag parts of it foreign of the color underneath a little bit tricky I gotta admit you have to find the right spot where your tool goes into so you do not want to lift up the white underneath you just want to lift up the black and the Rose [Music] yes tricky like I said but once you got it right I look so freaking cool [Music] [Music] [Music] I hope it's as plausible for you as it is for me in my little brain [Music] I just love to play around and I love that effect so this rose color is so cool on the white it looks like a perfect Rose but on the black it almost turns violet okay this is the scoop and drag that I end up not liking just a warning we're gonna do three pieces and two of them I'm gonna scrape re-watching this um I died a little because I poured over pretty cool pieces but that happens when I'm in the zone if there's only one thing that I don't like it's yeah it's gonna go sorry about that but you'll get used to it okay now then I spin and all the paint expands and you will even get to see more of the rose color I just used those two colors to make it obvious for you why I'm doing this and I really want you to try it because ah it's so much fun and so much potential so try it out I will also teach that next year in the fluid art experience in Seattle in April I haven't taught that before but I think I'm at a good point where it all makes sense and I'm ready to share what I know about this okay we'll keep spinning and spinning and spinning and there is that one little tail that is like right in the middle of my canvas and the surrounding looks really cool it's just that heel in the middle that is that and I couldn't get it in a different spot so it wouldn't bother me as much so and see the rose on the black it is almost like an interference blue or something really cool very ghosty and mysterious there is a close-up and you see my gold is kinda breaking up I do not mind I think that's a pretty cool look yep so we're gonna do this again sorry and the next one is going to be even prettier the bird spoiler I'm gonna pour over that one too all right I will keep doing this if you have any questions oh this is the pre-night which I I'm not a green person but this is so gorgeous especially with the Lagoon and the Southern Ocean Blue um say uh I will let you watch I'm gonna do the same thing if you have any questions go shoot happy to answer all right guys enjoy [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] everybody [Music] everybody [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] thank you thank you foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] I think you see best what I mean I have not used the blue or the rose on my palette knife in the swipe those were just the colors that were underneath the black and look how they pop look how much they come out foreign will live even though I'm not 100 happy with it that's what happens I'm always chasing for the perfect painting haven't got it yet but my time will come all right guys have a good week see you in the next one until then bye
