A desperate 48 2nd phone call by a 16 year old boy pleading for help, and I don't know if you maybe you need to come now. The call ends later home found burning with three bodies inside a woman and two boys . Two days later, a father found dead inside his burned out truck every day that goes on the longer this Takes. It's just harder. Listen to this burden does not get lighter. We deserve justice today deserve justice. Those boys deserve justice. Yeah. And finally, the wheels of justice are turning today in the murder of the carry a gah family. Thank you for joining us for the news at five AM Hana Kim and I'm Jamie Tompkins. Three people have been arrested for the quadruple homicide, two of them reportedly members of a motorcycle club. We have team coverage tonight. Steve Kiggins has details on the investigation. Step by step, But first we had to anchor David Rose, who spoke with family members today. David, How are they reacting to this? Well they are elated. Hannah about 20 of them came here to the kids have County Sheriff's Department and met with the detective and the investigators who arrested the three suspects this morning and operation that we're told when very cleanly. The family came out of that meeting. Safe meeting feeling much better about the situation is tragic as it is because they had some of their questions answered, But they know there's still a lot of things they don't know and are all of the suspects in custody. Detectives say there may be more involved. But let's talk about the three that were caught this morning. Finally after 5.5 years, Fox 13 news reporter Steve Kiggins is here with me and kidnap county and has that part of the sto. David This was a very sudden end to this year's long investigation. But by this morning three suspects, two of them here in Pierce County and another Excuse me two of them here in kids and counting in another down in Pierce County, all arrested And they had to coordinate it. So we're all three were arrested just within hours of each other. It's been a long road. We've never given up. Our detectives have have Plourde blood, blood, sweat and tears into this case, Lieutenant Ken Dickinson when the kids have county sheriff's office, spoke with a grin on his face. Pleased to share the news. In a case that once ran cold might finally be coming to a close The types of people we need to get off the street. Very my whole family shot. Me too, were 16 year old Hunter's traps last words on a call 911. Pleading for help on January 27th 2017 u W with the gun. I don't know if people even you need to come now in a minute when first responders got to the carrier gets home, they found the building on fire. And when the flames were doused, three bodies were discovered inside 16 year old Hunter shop 16 year old Jonathan Higgins and 37 Year old crystal carrier, but her husband, 43, year old Johnny Kerrigan, was nowhere to be found. Someone spotted his truck also scorched by fire along a remote North Mason County road. Some three days later, Johnny's body was also found inside the car. It will be four more months until investigators shared new information seeking the public's assistance. The surveillance video released by investigators in June 2017 show this man Who they called a person of interest video was taken inside a target store 12 days before the murders. Police identify the man is 39 year old Denny Kelly, shown wearing a tire connected to the Bandidos motorcycle club. That's what investigators played with other club members to come forward with information about those murders. But the case grew colder with each passing month until now, four years later, after a video was released, investigators announcing three men are under arrest. Two of them with ties to the motorcycle club. Each phase 16 charges from aggravated first degree murder, assault , kidnapping, burglary and more. We don't yet know if Kelly is officially charged. After years of sweat and toil kids up, county sheriff's deputies believe they can finally bring justice to the carrying a family. Elated and relieved and satisfied. I mean, all the good things that you can think of This is the result of years of tremendous hard work on the part of so many people to finally bring some measure of justice, or at least begin the process of that for the carrying a family. Now there's still much to learn exactly how all three of those arrests happened earlier today and the direct leader of those arrests, we're gonna learn much more tomorrow. Detective working in this case mentioned The probable cause. Documents for each of these suspects is 50 pages long Each of these suspects are being held here in jail on $20 million bail, each likely to be arraigned. Tomorrow, David. Steve Thank you kids up. County Sheriff. Detectives also worked with the FBI. This was an intense investigation that was very detailed. They were dedicated and not going to give up. Some family members were frustrated how long it took, but the prosecutors saying they wanted to delay the trial because of covid until they could have a jury trial, which they now can have. So they serve those warrants and arrested those three. Suspects today one of the people that our viewers have connected with over the years is the mother of Hunter Scott Karley Scott because she has made so many tearful pleas, and her pain has just been palpable every time she talked, asking for somebody to come forward. It worked. Detectives say they did get tips from the public to assist in this case, so today after she spoke with investigators. I talked with her about how she's doing. I'm just I'm happy that there's going to be some answers. I'm happy that, um I mean, we've been waiting over five years for arrest to be made. This is a huge step in the right direction style in court tomorrow. Absolutely. Did you learn anything today that you didn't know that might provide some answers for you ? Um I think a lot of it wad some things were No, I've I've got some answers. And unfortunately, um. There's going to be a lot more, but I don't know and we'll come out and that is scary.
