different for you today this time we'll be taking a look at a product this product is a Li XI key cutter it was sent to me by banggood.com to give a little bit of a review / first impression from it and I think I've got enough keys now with it to get must give a fair first impression of it and oh might even be able to call it a review I'm not a hundred percent sure I don't normally do reviews as a lot of you know anyway been good to come reached out to me asked me to review a few other products for you guys and I agreed and this was the very first product I picked I like to cut my own keys for challenge locks and in the past I've been hand filing every single one of them and it is a very time-consuming process takes anywhere between Oh ten minutes to half an hour sometimes to get it just right and that's just on one key so I figured maybe this will cut my time down and from what I found it actually does reduce my time in cutting a key and it does a fairly good job of it I'm pretty impressed with this lishi key cutter well what does it have well it's got your key cutting blade that's kind of an obvious and I've cut seven or eight keys with it so far and it's holding up just like it was brand-new it's got some depth marks right down here let me zoom in on just a little bit it's got the depth marks here we got 0.5 and we got 0.6 and I assume that's probably in millimeters so we have half a millimeter and point six millimeters for our different knotch debts and I don't really pay a whole lot of attention to those from what I found when I was picking I was using more for registration mark for getting this thing straight on the key more than anything and in every case that I've actually cut a key with it I've still had to God go back and even do some little bit of fine-tuning with the file but I'm talking minimal fine-tuning I mean the toughest one I cut was this gale took me about three minutes to cut it and this is my product it looks just like the original and but you could tell I had to go back at it with a file and do a little bit of touch-up to make it work and that little bit of touch-up was maybe about a minute so I've greatly reduced my key making times I mean even with challenge locks this is a old national key that was a blank I cut it to fit in this and it works perfect the same way with this one this is another challenge lock it's a quick set and works perfect another key I cut and I actually cut to is for this commercial master lock and it has a removable core which has made it easier to cut because if you guys remember when I got this slot it didn't have a key for it so it's now got two working keys and they both worked beautifully and this leg right here this is actually a six pinner and it's a six pin lock it started out life as a five pin er the first or the second third fourth fifth and sixth cuts on this key they are actually from the stock key that's how it was originally pinned so I changed up put a 6 pin in it and just made that little notch in it so it worked out real well so how did how do you how do you reuse this I know it's a little bit different it's not a key cutter and you're going to be doing this by hand so what I've come up with and it is worked very well for me is I will clamp the keys up in my vise tightly loosely at first so I can get them to register but give me a second and I'll come back and those will be registered nice and tightly okay and as you can see I've got both of these keys in the vise and lined up perfectly with each other or as perfectly as I can make it because I guarantee on every key you cut with this no matter how good you are you're probably going to have to do some fine-tuning at the end so it's probably a good idea to have your lock gutted that way you can line your pins up just so you can fine tune it but it does work for me it does shave a lot of time off of hand finicky it's not as quick as a and as accurate as actual a machine would be but this is also for the people that can't afford a machine so as you can see that's how easy the cuts make see I'm not getting in the bottom of these holes perfect so that he's going to be a little bit proud but as you can tell it's shaving quite a bit of time off of my key making routine and there we go it's ruffcut to my original and it looks really close I doubt it's gonna work right away I'm probably going to have to do a little bit of filing on it but like I said I'm doing a tenth of the filing that I was doing before so this is the original key and it works this is the one I just cut I don't expect it to actually it's getting caught up right there all right here's some artifact of the machine and let's just let's just see I'm pretty sure it's not going to work right away nope but I guarantee you it's close and close for me when making my own keys is pretty good because I can fine-tune them to whatever I want so there's another key cut for you know another lock in the future guys so this key cutter here what do I really think of it I think it's a very useful tool do I think it's a perfect tool no I would prefer the jaw to be a little bit bigger on this that way I can take deeper cuts the angle on the jaw is just about right so we can keep that and if the ejection hole down here was just a little bit bigger because as I was cutting some of these were getting caught up in here every one so all I had banging on the side of my table or my chair to get a little bits of key to come out not a not a big issue but you know not a game-changer either they handle it's a nice solid handle it's not going to come off on you very easily the fit and finish on this is nice and tight it does operate smoothly squeaks a little bit but heck it's a tool let it squeak I don't care so this tool it is actually called the advanced key cutter lockpicks locksmith tool the product ID on banggood.com is nine one five three seven three and I will put a link to this into the description of the video I will let you guys make up your own minds on whether or not you're going to buy it but for me I'm glad I have it it saves me time and that's my final product it is a time saver everyone please stay safe don't do anything illegal and as always if you like what you see here subscribe comment ring the bell all that good stuff and more videos will be coming at you [Music] [Music]
