hey there and welcome to Costa Ric story and today we're going to talk about the top 22 things you need to do when you come toita so I've picked out 22 things and I'm going to give them to you in no specific order but there are 22 things that I think you really have to do when you come to uita and I'm sure I've missed a few things and I'm sure that if you have some things that are must see here in ovita give give me a shout out in the comments and let me know what what you are are fond of doing when you come here to uita so I'm going to start out with with number one is go on a whale watching tour and of course Rita is famous for its whale watching and there's we have so many different companies here you can't go wrong with any of the tour companies here that'll take you out while watching I've been out quite a few times and another another thing too I always say that the guides here are just such fun people anytime you spend spend time when you spend time with a guide you're always going to have a good time then if you're seeing whales it's even better yet number two go to Cascada Verde otherwise known as uo waterfall very close very close to here I walking distance for me I've done a video on that you can check that out three pantanas and pantanas is it's a beautiful beach to start off with but the magic of it is the sea caves there's two sea caves that at low tide you can actually walk inside and experience them a little bit and you have to drive across a little river to get there so it's it's a little bit of an adventure but the the beach itself is close to where you park your car so it's not a huge hike to get out there that's one of the the benefits and it's a it's a favorite with the locals there not not to mention it is a tourist destination for sure speaking of tourist destination uita is famous for the whale [Music] [Music] sale number five visit Dominic dominical is kind of a sister city here to uita but it it's a completely different vibe there there's no way to describe it but just go visit there there's there's a lot to do there the beach there is really nice it's a good surfing Beach number six go on a coffee tour and if you watch this Channel at all you know that my friend danir from CFE dilio has got a coffee plantation just outside of town it's about it depends how fast to drive maybe a it's a 30 minute drive maybe up the mountain cuz it's a little bit of a bumpy road but it's it's a beautiful drive up there and you get get to experience what it's like to make coffee but more than that you get to experience the culture of living you know away from the coast it's it's a lot different when you get away from the coast and up in the mountains you don't have to go far and you're in a different world so a coffee tour Cafe Don amilio number 7 going on a serpe river boat tour and this is a great way to experience Wildlife if you are a wildlife lover and if you're coming to Costa Rica I assuming that you are but the guides know where all the wildlife is and they'll take you up close and personal to monkeys all kinds of birds I highly recommend number eight doing a zipline adventure with Osa Canopy Tours and they take you up the mountain and then you come down on a series of zip lines and it's it's really cool it's a little bit scary at first but once you get used to it it's it's a breeze and you do feel the breeze cuz you get going fast on a couple of those and that's that's like I said that's about half an hour from here as well at number nine right here in town you can do a coconut tour you can learn all about coconuts the many different uses of coconuts and the process of growing coconuts I yet to do this tour which I will shortly number 10 do a culture tour and this area has a lot of culture not just the ancient culture but recent culture how how uita came to be the the changes this town went through it's all very interesting stuff and I highly suggest a culture tour here in U so number 11 visit Playa Hermosa and play Hermosa is the closest free beach for you to visit here and it's it's known for its surfing and it does have a lifeguard Tower there if you if you want to be in a area where there is a lifeguard there's a lot of Beats there and it it doesn't have um a lifeguard Tower but there is a lifeguard Tower there and if you want to visit play Heros you have the option of going to the main entrance where the lifeguards are and two other minor entrances I also have a video on that number 12 visit par National Marino bana and the National Park is not just the whale taale there's five different entr uh to the national park and a ticket into one entrance gets you into any of the other entrances of the park for that day it goes all the way down south as far as play up in whis and there's a lot of diversity in the beaches they're not all the same so so check out some of the the less known entrances to the [Music] park number 13 go on a kayak tour and you can go on a kayak tour in the ocean and check out the three sisters and whale rock or you can do a um a mangrove tour which is interesting you might see some interesting Wildlife there but the mangroves themselves those trees are just so beautiful and it's just a beautiful Vibe being down in the mangroves number 14 a horseback ride on the beach and I'm not really a horse person I've only been on a horse one time prior to this but I did go on the horse back ride on the beach and it was it was a lot of fun I was a little intimidated because this you know you've got this giant creature that has your destiny in its in its hoofs so I survived it I had a great time but I I didn't Gallop when everybody else was Galloping I was a little bit of a a when it came down came down to uh you know being the cowboy out there I was uh I was mosing more than I was galloping number 15 go on a bike ride and bike riding in this area is a lot of fun it can be dangerous out on Route 34 I wouldn't I wouldn't recommend writing on Route 34 but if you go down in bajia there's a lot of beautiful areas you can drive there's some some paths and things that are really really nice number 16 go on an ATV tour and there's a couple different companies here in uita that can take you on a tour in places that you probably don't want to drive your car car and uh they go out in groups and they know where they're going you they take you to some waterfalls and sometimes they even go up to the the coffee plantation you have a cup of coffee so the ATV tour is definitely not to be missed number 17 go watch a turtle release and at play a Tortuga they have a lot of uh Turtle conservation facilities there and they they incubate these eggs and they release the eggs and they release the eggs play a Tortuga and they also play a Hermosa and in at the national park and you pay attention to when a turtle release is going to happen because you don't always get a lot of notice because they don't know exactly when the timing of it's going to be so there's a couple different ways you can you can check out when the turtle releases are going to be and I'll I'll link those down below they've got an Instagram page and they've got a Facebook page but that's a lot of fun that what happens is they have a bucket full little baby turtles which is very cute bucket full of turtles how how much cuter can you get and they have everybody make a little semicircle and they put the Turtles out on the beach and they all Scamper for the ocean it's it's really cute to watch number 18 go on a caca tour like a chocolate tour and those are an interesting thing they they show you the process of how they make it and there's there's one it's part part of a ceremony they they smear the chocolate on your face it's not mandatory not all chocolate tourists do that but some of them do it's just one of the things they do here it's optional you don't have to smear the chocolate on your face number 19 visit a fish farm and the Fish Farms are are usually tilapia and they'll cook them for you there on the spot so that's an interesting thing to do and I'm trying to learn to eat fish I'm kind of have an adversion to that but I may be doing that in in an upcoming video so we'll see about that we'll see if that actually happens number 20 are many many restaurants with beautiful views we've got views of the whale taale views of the ocean in general there's some just views of the mountains some mountains and ocean it's just one of the things that can't be missed whether it's you're there for breakfast or for dinner and sometimes it's nice just to go for cocktails and watch the sunset so highly recommend restaurants with a view and there's there's many here 21 a visit to play Arco play Arco is in the national park but play Arco is a bit of a hike so plan on that taking up at least half of your day to get out there and you need to know the tide on that especially because it's not really accessible unless you hit it just right so maybe you need a guide maybe somebody can take you there on a ovita day adventure that would be a good idea Posta rico.com number 22 visit naaka Falls and that's for it's between dominical and Perez zeldon and it's one of the bigger waterfalls in this area and I will be having a video on this topic in the near future but if you are coming to uita and you want to get to know some of these places I talked about a little bit better you can do my famous uita day adventure we can customize it to your needs to your wants I also do Consulting for people moving here
