21 Things to do in BUFFALO, NEW YORK, US / Top Buffalo Activities and Attractions You Can't Miss!

welcome to Buffalo New York in this video I'm going to be sharing some of the top attractions and things to do if you're visiting Buffalo New York is a city rich in history culture and of course chicken wings whether you're interested in history a foodie or just looking for a fun weekend getaway Buffalo has something for everyone in this video I'm going to share some of the best things to see and do in the Buffalo area so let's Jump Right In [Music] the first item on your list should be to visit canalside this vibrant Waterfront destination is a must visit you can enjoy live music food trucks and outdoor activities like kayaking paddle boarding and ice skating we really enjoyed walking around the area and I think that in the summer months this would be the perfect place to be and while you're down at canalside you can come check out the Naval Museum they have two massive warships and a submarine here that you can actually go through if you pay the admission price if not you can still walk alongside them and take pictures and get to look from afar the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park has actual military vessels on display and you can even go inside some of them it's a great place to learn about Buffalo's role in American history and you could easily spend a few hours here along the path there's also some monuments to explore and there's plaques out front with information about what you're looking at so it makes it a very informative experience [Music] another thing that you can do in Buffalo in nicer weather is take a Buffalo Harbor boat cruise as you can see today it's still pretty cold and these boats are not operating yet but in the summer I suspect this would be a lovely attraction in the nicer weather I think this would be a beautiful area to explore by boat you can also rent a bike through ready Bike Share and explore downtown Buffalo and canalside as well take a bike rental to explore canalside in the downtown area rent a bike and take in the sights and sounds of Buffalo's bustling downtown area including the beautiful Waterfront at canalside another thing that you can do if you're in Buffalo is come to the Buffalo and Erie Botanical Gardens this stunning indoor and outdoor Garden is a great place to take in the beauty of nature it was so colorful inside with different varieties of flowers and foliage and if you visit on a sunny day you can enjoy the outdoor Gardens as well there are so many different flower varieties and Exhibits to check out while you're here it's pretty nice when you're planning a trip to Buffalo you should also factor in going to the theater they have an entire Theater District here so if you're into musicals or theater in general you should check out the theaters and what's playing so that you can add it to your itinerary Buffalo has an awesome historic Theater District with several small and large theaters the Shea theater in particular has been restored to its former glory and is a great place to catch a musical or Broadway show but there are plenty of options in the area another thing that you can do in Buffalo is head to the Buffalo zoo the zoo is a short distance from the downtown area has a big parking lot and the zoo itself has over 1 000 animals from around the world including Tigers polar bears and lions dine around the city buffalo style pizza was recommended to us and it is basically a thicker crust and lots of toppings and cheese but there are tons of other great food options in the city to try no matter what your food preferences and budgets are thank you check out some of the Buffalo breweries they have a variety to choose from and the ones that we've been to were great visit a local Brewery to grab a drink Buffalo has an amazing craft beer scene with breweries like Resurgens Brewing Company Lafayette Brewing Company big ditch Brewing Company and Beltline Brewery and Kitchen just to name a few we went to all of those places and can 10 out of 10 recommend foreign is to go to a Distillery we visited Hartman's Distilling Company but there are a few others around Buffalo that you can visit as well the vibe at this Distillery was quite nice and we really enjoyed the decor another thing that you can do in Buffalo is come to the Theodore Roosevelt inaugural National Historic Site here you can go on an organized tour and learn more about some very interesting historic events that took place right here this historic site is where Roosevelt took the oath of office after President McKinley was assassinated and it's a fascinating look into the history of the presidency we were so lucky to get a mini private tour while we were there because we couldn't stay for the full tour but I'd love to go back one day to see the entire house and I definitely recommend adding this to your list another thing to add to your list of things to see and do if you're in Buffalo New York is coming to a sports game whether you like baseball hockey or football they have it here so number 12 on the list is to visit the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame at solid field and go to a bison's game the Buffalo Bisons are the city's minor league baseball team and the stadium is located in downtown Buffalo with a seating capacity of over 16 000. thank you number 13 is to see a Buffalo Sabers game at the KeyBank Center the Buffalo Sabers are Buffalo's NHL team and they play in the heart of downtown Buffalo the arena has a seating capacity of over 19 000 and is known for its Lively atmosphere during games if you're a hockey fan catching a Sabers game at KeyBank Center is a great way to experience the sport and the City of Buffalo number 14 is to check out The Monuments and historical sites in the city Buffalo has many historical sites including the electric Tower Pierce Arrow Museum and the Buffalo City Hall to name a few so informative [Music] another thing to do in Buffalo is come to Niagara Falls Niagara Falls is located about 30 minutes north of Buffalo and is one of the most amazing natural wonders in the world there are three separate waterfalls there Horseshoe Falls American Falls and bridal veil Falls while you're there you can take the Maid of the Mist to get up close to the falls or visit the Cave of the Winds to get behind the Falls there are so many hiking trails with stunning views of the falls and the surrounding landscape so definitely add Niagara Falls to your itinerary if you're in Buffalo you can also come check out the Walden Galleria number 16 is to shop at the Walden Galleria this mall is the largest mall in the Buffalo Niagara area with over 200 stores and restaurants making it a great place to shop eat and relax it's technically located in Cheektowaga about 15 minutes from downtown Buffalo Allentown is number 17 on the list this area of the city has a nice shopping area with boutiques restaurants coffee shops and is a nice pedestrian area if you're looking to walk around [Music] Allen found another top-notch attraction that you must check out if you're in Buffalo the oldest tree in Buffalo according to Google this may be the oldest tree or at least one of them in Buffalo located on Franklin Street this massive sycamore tree dates back to 1710 and has a plaque marking it as the oldest tree in the city number 19 is to visit the Seneca Casino if gambling is your thing they have slots and table games and there's also a few bars and dining options inside foreign [Music] if you are in Buffalo New York and want to see some really cute houses you should definitely head over to the historic village area there are tons of cute little houses here and you can walk through the peaceful Johnson Park where they have a plaque and a monument dedicated to the first mayor of Buffalo New York the West Village is Buffalo's original historic district today the West Village which has been a residential Community has been designated a historic district under the City of Buffalo a New York State's landmark and preservation ordinance and the Federal National register of historic places it is home to many beautifully preserved 19th and 20th Century buildings including the Richardson Olmsted campus the Guaranty building and the Wilcox Mansion which is now the Theodore Roosevelt inaugural National Historic Site and number 21 is to admire the architecture around downtown Buffalo there are so many beautiful buildings and great examples of Art Deco and Beaux Arts architecture in the area and if you're interested in architecture or city photography this would be a great activity
