foreign [Music] hey everybody it's Mike coming to you from the vrv family of companies 2024 models are finally starting to drop onto our lot now from Jayco and right here I have a red hawk a beautiful red hawk unit that I'm really looking forward to showing off to you this 2024 Redhawk series delivers family friendly floor plans with some nice upgrades over the Red Hawk SE series The 29xk is 32 feet 6 inches long and with the dinette and sofa both in the slide out you have plenty of room to maneuver inside this coach it sits on the Ford E450 chassis with a V8 7.3 liter engine and it features modern Farmhouse Decor this is the very first look at the 2024 Jayco Redhawk 29 XK a few of my very favorite things in the 2024 Jayco Redhawk 29 XK starting with all the refrigerators are now 12 volts I don't like any dark Corners in an RV you've got under cabinet lighting right here and then over here I've got lighting above the balance as well there's no dark corners and new for 2024 as a Prestige style front cap with a window I love that okay starting on what I love to refer to as the fun side of the RV this is where the all the action happens the campfire the stories the fishtails you name it all the good stuff happens on the fun side underneath a 16 foot awning so I have an LED light strip underneath that awning plenty of coverage for your picnic table and all the games and everything on the fun side I always pay attention to how much storage is on the fun side because you're going to access this way more than the Utility side of the coach this is where you're grabbing the dog collar and the bag chairs and camping supplies and all that kind of stuff so I have one two three four compartment storage compartments on this side for storage this is our propane right here so obviously you're going to hit this when you're when it's time to fill and check the tank level right there so I'll make that one go away but I have a spacious storage compartment here that also houses our solar charge control 200 watts of solar up on top think of that as a robust trickle charger for your batteries so since we have a 12 volt refrigerator it's important to make sure those batteries stay topped off and that solar charge will help do that even when you're not driving and even when you're not running the generator or have Shore power it'll expand the amount of time you can camp off grid this is a six gallon direct spark ignition water heater runs off propane or electric it prefers electric but it'll run off either one and then I have a compartment here with coax cable and 110 so this is the place where you'll hook up a television if you want to have a television on the patio side this is our furnace vent that does get a little bit warm so beware nice spacious storage compartment here and then here's what I really love pass through storage that goes all the way to the other side this is great I can access the storage from the back of the coach so the fun side the Utility side or back here if I'm a kid I'm probably going to set up camping here this is fun down here I have a 7 500 pound hitch Jayco surpasses their competition by putting a very robust hitch on their motorhomes instead of 5 000 pounds that you'll often see at this price point 7 500 pounds so you can pull pretty much any dinghy vehicle you want to here now you might opt to use this for a boat or a golf cart or just a storage platform for firewood or what have you but you can pull a pretty sizable toad as we refer to them to behind your your motorhome now I have a seven way right here as well as a four way flat plug so if I just have a a golf cart trailer or a small boat and all you need is the four-way prong for lights you're good to go right there and you don't have to put an adapter on there so very handy to have that I do have my backup camera up on top now one thing about a regular red hawk versus a red hawk SC is I have not only a backup camera there but side cameras as well so a nice little upgrade from the Red Hawk SC to the what we'll call regular Redhawk other side of our pass-through storage this is just great I absolutely love this I love having all that storage big enough to put bicycles you could lay them down there if you have those collapsible type of bicycles you could put five six of them in there so here's our utility Bay where we're going to do our water connections and so on it's labeled to take the guesswork out of it so whether you're filling your tank or under normal operations they're all numbered and here are your switches so you're going to have these set according to your specific application hot and cold outdoor shower right here so you can wash your legs and feet off if you're at the beach or whatever I can control my water pump inside but also out here which is very handy to have our main water connection so I'm going to route my hose up through the bottom into here and then also our black tank flush valve now two things about this always make sure you have a water pressure regulator on this connection to keep pressure at 55 PSI or less and then your black tank flush valve make sure your black gate valve is open right here before you hook that up now keep a separate hose just any old garden hose will do hook it up there make sure this is open and turn it on and let it run so time to break Camp time to gather up all the kids toys run the awning in pack the chairs away and so on turn that on and just let it run it's going to spray the inside of your black tank out and help keep it clean black is black gray is gray black tank gray tank I recommend opening up the black to empty first and follow it by the gray to rinse out the the hose Jayco vacuum bonds their walls so 144 tons of pressure for 12 minutes virtually eliminates the possibility that this wall delaminates over the course of time it's a slow tedious and expensive process but Jayco does it and that's one of the reasons they can afford to give you a two-year warranty instead of a one-year warranty like everybody else frameless windows are nice they're Sleek modern looking and they tilt out so you can leave them out on a day that it might come up a shower and it won't rain in but you can still enjoy some of that fresh air pretty sizable slide that houses both the dinette and the sofa so with both of those Furniture components coming out it really opens up the inside of this I do have another storage compartment here perfect size for you know extra sewer hoses and cleaning supplies and then our attached 30 amp power cord is in here your coax cable and power so if you have cable at your Campground and many of them do now hook it up right there now I have cable both on the patio side as well as inside the coach this unit's equipped with a 4K generator so this is pulling off of your gas tank inside of the chassis at 25 percent so when it gets down to 25 percent level of your gas tank this generator is going to kick off and it's a to keep you from running the coach out of gas if you're out in the middle of timbuk nowhere running the generator when it gets down to 25 percent this generator shuts down but this provides plenty of power to run your rooftop AC and all of your power needs if you don't have access to shore power now we do have side cameras again on this regular red hawk right here so I have side cameras when you hit your left turn signal this is going to give you a clear shot down the left side of the coach and obviously right side as well these mirrors fold in and again I love that in 2024 jayco's Gone With The Prestige style front cap so this whole front cap on every Jayco Class C is one piece molded fiberglass there's no seam here there's no seam along the edge it's all one piece so it's not going to leak anywhere but they went ahead and integrated that window in the front which man if you're a kid how fun is that and it's got a power shade in there which I'll show you in just a second but that's really a neat feature that's now standard on all Mainline Red Hawk RVs all right let's take a look on the inside and check it out follow me okay now we're on the inside of this red hawk and I want to point out right in front we've got a little curtain that will isolate the cab area from the rest of the unit if you want to so this does a couple things obviously privacy you don't have to cover the windshield up there but also it gets warmer up there in the summer and cooler in the winter so this will help provide a little bit of blockage from the cab area and it's got little velcro tabs along here so I'm gonna go ahead and pull those off just for the sake of this video but it's nice that you have that we used to craft them ourselves on other units motorhomes I've had in the past that they didn't provide that with so now I've got a nice bunk up here and it's significant because Jayco gives you a 750 pound weight rating on their bunk areas so a couple of adults can sleep and of course kids can sleep all day long you have this little deal right here so the kids don't like to fall out of bed so I'll just undo this for the sake of our demonstration and get that out of the way makes it real easy to get in and out of the cab area because this just hinges up out of the way like that I can step down into the cab area and very easy to go from cab to the house part of the coach and then when it's time to go back to a bed simply pop this back down I got cup holders up there USB ports to charge my gadgets as well as 110 a little storage cubby here as well and check this out this switch right here controls the shade for the front window how great is that you're a kid you get to look up at the stars while you're sleeping and it adds a lot of natural light in this coach as well really lights it up nicely in its power does a nice job of blocking out all the all the light when it's time to go to bed but that is really handy TV is up here if I release it right there I can pull this out for any viewing angle depending on whether the kids are watching it up here or watching it from the living area now cab area again we are on a Ford E450 chassis a big monitor which will have your camera for backing up into the web to into your website which is the backing into your website your campsite and also it's got Android auto and apple carplay Sirius XM so a lot of entertainment options there as well these seats do spin around so they can face the back part of the coach as well so that's real handy so I'm going to start here up in this corner and give you guys a tour of the inside of the coach okay I'm going to start up here by the entry door and just point out a few important aspects of the coach a lot of control features here so your solar power controller is right here to monitor your charge status of your batteries from your solar four point leveling so automatic leveling forget about carrying along those blocks to block the wheels you have automatic push button leveling over here I have our power step which when it's on that step's going to come in and out every time you open and close the door when you're at a campsite I turn it off because I don't want that step coming in and out either way when you turn the ignition on it will come in for safety here's your main 12 volt power disconnect a lot of people refer to it as a Salesman switch because the sales guys always turn that off so the batteries don't discharge Awning in and out pretty self-explanatory and exterior light also self-explanatory our Co and propane gas alarm right here so that's obviously a safety and important feature a little light switch right here for our main light so when you step into the coach it's just one toggle switch and you have lights up here I have our tank heaters so if you're in cold temps hit that tank heater it's going to keep your tanks in the thawed State your water pump and then your water heater either on gas or electric controlled right here our slide out control here as well as our generator start and stop so we can control our generator here as well I can check our tank levels for our fresh black and gray and obviously they are all currently empty now here's an upgrade in 2024 on the main Redhawk versus the SC I have the Tower of Power as they say so I have USBC regular USB and then 110 power here on this release it with that little Tab and push it down and now it is a wireless charger so just lay your phone and if your phone will charge wirelessly it'll start charging just like that real handy so you have to fool around with cords and stuff I love the under cabinet lighting so I have lighting here as well as up above the valance so really really nice when it's time to watch a movie in the evening you don't want all the lights on this adds just enough classy light under here gives it a high high-end feel now we are in the modern Farmhouse Decor scheme here so in 2024 you can choose from Modern Farmhouse or you can also choose from Asheville which is more of a brownish wood grain look this is proven to be jayco's most popular option and it's important to note that Jayco actually gives you an option to begin with many manufacturers at this price point you don't get an option you get what you get Jayco gives you an option of two different Decor schemes so these are solid Maple doors yeah and I like that they're all open it's not individual compartments so that adds to the flexibility of this space up here always the styles are pocket screwed and glued together they aren't stapled together so very very handy nice amount of counter space here this looks like almost like a concrete countertop it's not it's a lightweight poly material but it allows Jayco to do an under mount residential style sink speaking of residential style it's stainless and that's what everything is in 2024 your appliances are stainless stainless stainless everything's stainless moving into 2024. Ample Storage under there Ample Storage under the sink and then I've got drawers full extension drawer Glides here as well now one of my pictures is where do you put the trash can you get an RV I spend a lot of money and where's the trash can go and I always hate it when there's not a place for it that's the logical place for a trash can or you could put one in there as well you could even Mount one to pull out if you like or hang it on the door but I hate it when you have to put the trash can out here where everybody's tripping over it and everything and in this case you don't nice utensil drawer there as well moving back into the galley portion we have a three burner cooktop with this cover which folded back now becomes your backsplash this is easily removable for cleaning so you can take this out wipe it out wipe this out backlit controls here for both the cooktop as well as your oven not a huge oven but big enough for pizzas and pot pies and cookies and stuff like that and then I have a little storage compartment up here thank you Jayco for putting guest struts up here and not leaving this to come crashing down so very handy extra foodstuffs and so on up there residential size microwave this is real Handy and again this is lighted here and vented also so feels very much like home 2024 12 volt refrigerators the gas electric fridges are on their way out so like it or loathe that's the way the industry is going I personally like it a lot not just because that's the way Jayco has them now but I've been a fan of these since they first came out much larger were 10 cubic feet than a than a regular gas absorption fridge would be which would top out at about seven or eight cubic feet in this same spot but also it's a compressor style fridge so this gets cool much quicker turn it on and within a couple hours you're freezing ice cubes the old kind you had to start them the night before to get them down to a temperature where you could be freezing and be wanting to put put food in there now before I leave the the general area here I'm going to talk about the the living area so this dinette table does remove this table becomes your base for the bed so I have another sleeping position right here there's another cushion that goes in here and then you can just remove these cushions entirely so I have 72 inches of sleeping length here the sofa up there does convert into a small sleeping position but it's a jackknife it's not a tri-fold so let me just get this little curtain out of the way so lift up in the front so that's what you got so it's not a huge but you got a young teenager kid certainly could sleep here now notice here Jayco always puts seat belts in seating positions so you don't have to choose which of your kids or grandkids don't get a seat belt you've always got seat belts for safety you can tuck them away when you're set up camp so on I have more storage up here again open all the way there's not just one gas strut there's two when you're shopping around and you should there's a few things you should do see how they build the roof see how they build the wall structures are they vacuum bonded do they have one gas strut or two you know Jayco could get by with just putting one but they put two here it's a few bucks more but then you're not putting extra torque on one side when you're opening it and closing and the other thing is lift up the bed and the base of the cushions and see what you see do you see plywood or do you see OSB or particle board in jayco's case you're always going to see plywood it's stronger lasts longer doesn't off gas it's more expensive but you're the end beneficiary of that because it's just a better product I really do love this lighting up here it really adds to the Ambiance this table rotates around so it makes it easier to get in if you're The Unlucky One that's to sit back here makes it easier to get in than if it was just stationary here so I can lock it in place down here so that it won't do that it's kind of Handy to have it that way so uh actually it's kind of like a lazy Susan you know past the green beans thank you whatever all right right here's your thermostat works just like home whether it's your gas furnace or your air conditioners in this case and then our power control system right up here as well now I have two air conditioners but we're on 30 amp power what's up with that so the way Jayco installs these with soft starch you had Energy Management you can actually have two air conditioners running with 30 amp power used to be an unheard of thing but now you can now it's an option and we optioned it that way because hey we're in Texas and it's June and it's 173.4 degrees today and it feels nice and cool in here today thanks in part to the fact that we have two AC units so what am I forgetting probably something so that's where you come in if you're watching this video and you have uh Corrections questions anything let me know I learn a lot from viewers and I like hearing from you I am certainly nothing special but I've been in these things for a lot of years and use different kinds of motorhomes and I always enjoy passing along tips to you that might help you with your RV Journey so if you have questions or comments drop them below and I'll personally thank you if you click like And subscribe that way you'll be the first to know when we post more videos like this or if you have a request for a video that you'd like us to do drop that in the comments below as well I have a split bath set up here my toilet and sinks over there my shower is over here so I'm six feet tall plenty of room plenty of Headroom up here thanks in part to this skylight shower wand here matte black and then this is handy so if I have wet swim trunks I can hang them up here to dry or if you got an overflow of clothes that you're going to your cousin's wedding and you're taking the whole wedding party's closing all hang them hang them up in here I guess but anyway it's nice to have that and you can remove it entirely so it's not banging your head somebody told me one time that's terrible you crack your head on it look it comes out real easily one piece shower surrounds there's no seams in the corner it's not going to leak and here's something special Jayco does three quarter inch tongue and groove plywood under here so it's reinforced even if you're a big person coming in here you're not jeopardizing the plumbing fittings under there which you may not discover for many years if there was a slow leak you'd be surprised how many manufacturers skimp on the way they build the platform under their shower pan sometimes there's very little if anything Jayco reinforces that so that you don't have to worry about there so coming into the bedroom area here I've got a separate thermostat that controls the back AC here and another spacious spacious little bathroom here so I have a little under mount sink here medicine cabinet up here it's plastic foot flush toilet a lot of people say hey can I upgrade it to a porcelain you can come standard with a plastic foot flush our light is in here and our fan up on top to get the humidity and uh the odors out of here now if I've got one critique to Jayco is come on give me another shelf or two in here really I mean this is a lot of space I mean this has got this is screaming for a shelf here and a shelf here for toothbrushes and what have you I mean I got two shelves here so that would have been an easy thing to do so actually Jayco does pay attention and they pay attention to your comments I know for a fact because they've made changes and revisions and freshened up floor plans based in part to comments that you guys make so don't be bashful I know you won't you never are um so yeah we've got our fan up here got a robe hook here very nice little bathroom now moving into the bathroom area close that vent so we can keep mom and dad can stay as comfortable as they want because you've got your own dedicated AC back here a full walk around queen bed so it makes it very easy to make this bed I've got little a little drawer here and two drawers over there as well as garment storage up on top with a closet rod so I'll open that up so you can see that there's a ladder right there so you can use that ladder for the front bunk area and then there's your extra seat cushion there as well if you do want to convert that bed rather dinette into a bed storage up here again with two gas struts all the way around nice reading lights which are adjustable so again that switch right there hit it once and you have a blue light which is a nice night light it won't blind your partner but it's enough to just let you find your way around here without disturbing them hold in and it goes back to reading and again it's adjustable all the way around and then this is great wireless charging up here too so lay my phone on there and I have a wireless charger and I don't have to worry about having a separate cord up here getting tangled up and everything also have regular 110 power on either side of the bed as well again separate thermostat right here controls this AC and then we have some light switches here pretty decent mattress it's a Serta brand mattress used to be junk mattresses and RVs these are actually very okay mattresses he might put us a Topper on here but it's pretty comfortable it is and then here's that plywood I was telling you about it's not particle board it is plywood down here are your breakers for your AC current and your fuses are over here for your DC current so make sure you're familiar with what these control they're labeled on there so if you ever have to troubleshoot you'll know where to go if an Outlet's not working or some other aspect of the coach isn't working you'll know where to go check it out what else am I forgetting I'm sure something but this is a fun unit in thanks part to the fact that this slide housing both this dinette and the sofa open up to create all this room in here so if you do have Mom and Dad a couple kids and two of their friends along you're not on top of each other you're not ready to just like oh is this trip over with because when that's open there's plenty of room to maneuver in here and it's in the Jayco Redhawk line so you've got Redhawk SC you got red hot then you move up into the Gray Hawk line as well this has a lot of the features that used to be only reserved for the gray Hawks and one of my favorites is that uh Prestige front cap how neat is that so I appreciate you joining me again if you have questions or comments drop them below always do my best to get to those questions and answer them as I'm able and until next time enjoy the great Outdoors my name is Mike and I'll see you next time foreign thank you
