Ford Ranger is the strong base engine this model implements a 2.3 l inline 4 ecoboost engine this engine although pretty small is a real powerhouse all thanks to the turbocharger so the numbers are really strong the 2.3 l EcoBoost in the ranger makes 270 horsepower and 310 lb feet of torque not to mention the huge potential for tuning of this engine in some applications this engine easily pushes up to 350 horsepower and 350 lb feet of torque which for its size is quite a lot number four same tow rating across the whole range a pickup truck wouldn't be complete if there were no good Tow and payload numbers a truck has to deliver the numbers in order to be considered as such what is good about the Ford Ranger is that this model gets the same tow rating across the whole lineup so what does the MPGs but we can assume that they'll be pretty similar to the 2.3 l but slightly lower for about 2 to 3 MPGs on average the ranger Raptor should even have worse fuel economy than this considering the fact that this model will Implement a more powerful engine and all terrain tires number two two a lot of Technology one of the key selling points of the new Ford Ranger is the abundance of Technology nowadays every customer wants to get a vehicle that packs a ton of tech and luckily the Ford Ranger is one of these models this model implements a driver's display where you have all of your gauges and notification lights but the main star of the show is the giant portrait screen for the infotainment this is a 12.4 in screen that is very responsive and also extremely Snappy using this infotainment is very intuitive and easy for any went out there because the system uses the latest version of Ford Sync software for those who don't like the screen you still have physical dials to control the AC and also a volume knob for the stereo number one high performance Raptor model the biggest Pro of the new Ford Ranger is definitely the Raptor model this Raptor model is expected to be one of the most powerful trucks in the midsize segment specifically tailored for off-road the ranger Raptor will compete with the likes of the GMC Canyon at4 Chevy Colorado Z ZR2 bison and the new Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro when it comes to the specs the new ranger raptor is expected to pack a 3.0 L V6 twin turbo engine that will be paired with a 10-speed automatic the power output of this model is expected to be 405 HP and 430 lb ft of torque which is quite a lot for a vehicle of this size the suspension is also expected to be quite good this model will come with Fox shocks at all four corners and also with allterrain tires that will make the ranger Raptor perfect for off-road but also most expensive you'll have to pay at least $57,000 if you want to get yourself one of these trucks now that we covered the pros let's move on and learn about the cons of the Ford Ranger everything has its cons and that's the case as well with the ranger number four lack of a hybrid model one of the biggest drawbacks when it comes to the Ford Ranger is the lack of a hybrid model which in our opinion is a big downside this is the case because it is 2024 and some of the car makers have started to another big drawback of the Ford Ranger is the lack of engine options in total there will be three engines available for the Ford Ranger there are the 2.3 l 2.7 L and 3.0 l in the ranger Raptor all although these options might seem plentiful there could have been more namely Ford offers diesel engines across the world with the ranger these include a 2.0 L EC blue and a 3.0 L V6 Power Stroke so we honestly think that Ford should have introduced a 3.0 L Power Stroke for the US market as well this engine is very powerful and what is most important is that it delivers excellent fuel economy with this engine the Ford Ranger could have up to 30 mpg on average with no problem that's why we think that Ford should have introduced a diesel model this engine is already developed and approved so not using it is a real shame number two lower payload than before another drawback of this generation of the Ford Ranger is the lack of payload capacity compared to the previous model year although the Ford Ranger has the best-in-class 1,85 lbs of payload capacity it is still lagging behind last year's model which had 1,95 lb of payload capacity we really don't know why this is the case because these are genuinely the same vehicles under the skin but who knows what Ford is up to and why they did this to their new truck for the next model year we hope that Ford will improve this and offer more Towing and payload capacity number one more expensive than before the last con of the Ford Ranger is its price the new Ford Ranger is very expensive compared to the previous model year this model starts at $325 which makes it more expensive than it's competitive just for reference the 2023 model had a starting price of $27,400 this new generation is almost $5,185 more expensive which for a truck especially a midsize truck is quite a lot this is why we think that because of the Steep price Ford will lose a ton of sales not to mention the price for the Raptor which will be around $56,000 is this truck worth this much we don't think so so Forge should definitely reduce the prices of their trucks if they want to sell them in good numbers
