Hi, this is Doyouram, here to bring you stories about Kpop idols. 'Idol Star Athletics Championships', known as 'ISAC',
made many fans of Kpop idols worried, but it was aired during the Chuseok holidays and showed idols' new sides. What sport events took place? Why did people cry? And who won gold medals? Let's find out! But first, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and turn on the notification! Many idol groups participated in this year's 'ISAC', and they were divided into Blue Team and White Team, which reminded Korean viewers of
Sports Day in their school years. Between Blue Team and White Team,
whichever won more gold medals was going to be the winning team. The first sport event was the ball passing game. Each team had to pass a giant ball around from one member to the next, and the last person who got the ball was to pick up a torch,
run to the cauldron, and light it. But maybe the idols hadn't been informed properly before the game. Both teams seemed lost at the start of the game, but Blue Team figured out how to play the game earlier than White Team and quickly passed around their ball all the way to The Boyz's Ju Haknyeon
who lit the ISAC cauldron far ahead of White Team. The next sport event was archery! The male idols were up first. The Boyz, NCT, Stray Kids, and ATEEZ participated in this event. The first semi-final match was between The Boyz and NCT. The Boyz members provided some visual treats,
wearing the cosplays of Conan, Hwarang, and Hawkeye, but sadly, they lost to NCT's Sungchan, Shotaro, and Jungwoo. The second semi-final match was between Stray Kids and ATEEZ. For ATEEZ, it was the first archery match ever. Like their last time on 'ISAC', Stray Kids members appeared
with flower crowns on their heads, showing their pretty visual. But it seemed like the ones wearing special items had bad luck. ATEEZ beat Stray Kids, though this was ATEEZ's first time doing archery. After this, NCT and ATEEZ's final match took place. NCT members were very good during the semi-final match,
so they were expected to be the final winning team. The final match was quite intense, though. But ATEEZ's Yunho was a bit unstable, and in the end, NCT won the gold medal. The next event was dancesport, a new sport event on 'ISAC'! Idols gave hot and passionate performances of Latin dance. For the men's division, P1Harmony's Intak, YOUNITE's Eunsang,
DKZ's Jaechan, and WEi's Kim Donghan competed. The first performance was given by P1Harmony's Intak. He showed a powerful performance of Paso Doble and Cha-cha-cha
to a rearranged version of Michael Jackson's song. Intak's mother used to be a professional dancesport dancer, which may explain his incredible turn moves and techniques. As a result, he received a score of 25.4 out of 30. Such an amazing first performance
probably gave a lot of pressure to the next dancer. But YOUNITE's Eunsang, who was the next one up, stepped on stage wearing a Squid Game mask without looking nervous at all and showed cool facial expressions and gave a hot performance of
Rumba and Cha-cha-cha to a Squid Game OST. But he got 24 points and missed the gold medal by a thin margin. The third performance was by DKZ's Jaechan. He gave a cute and upbeat performance of Jive and Cha-cha-cha. He showed fantastic footwork at a quick tempo, but he received 22.9 points. The last performance was by WEi's Kim Donghan. He was so good that the other dancers all saw him as a competitor. Donghan gave a charismatic performance, using a cape, but he received 25 points and won the silver medal in the end. Next, the dancers of the women's division were up! NMIXX's Sullyoon, Kwon Eunbi, Billlie's Tsuki, and Kep1er's Xiaoting competed, which created a lot of buzz even before 'ISAC' aired
because of their visual and skills. NMIXX's "baby deer" Sullyoon was the first performer. With her performance of Rumba and Jive,
she expressed the youthful excitement with a male friend. Her wink at the end was so pretty as well, but sadly, she received 22.8 points. The second performer was Kwon Eunbi, who used to be IZ*ONE's captain. She gave a passionate performance of Paso Doble and Jive. With smooth turns, bold moves, and a cool pose at the end, she left everyone awed. As a result, she got 25.1 points, which is pretty high,
but the next performance was incredible as well. The third performance was by Billlie's Tsuki. Even before the performance began,
the commentators said it's the best of Latin dance. Right from the start, Tsuki's facial expressions made everyone cheer, and with her passionate Cha-cha and cute Jive moves, she gave a cool performance and received a total of 26.9 points, the highest score ever. But the last performer was Kep1er's Xiaoting, a former dancesport dancer who had won awards at international dancesport contests. With the concept of Audrey Hepburn from the movie 'Breakfast at Tiffany's',
she did a relaxed walking and then showed fancy, advanced moves, unlike the other performers. The judges must have been awed; they gave her 29.2 points,
which was close to the perfect score. Xiaoting won the gold medal in the women's division, but the other idols' performances were so cool,
which made the dancesport event so much fun to watch. In fact, Tsuki, and the teammates of the other participants of this event,
ended up crying, touched by the performances and the efforts behind them. With that, the dancesport event of 'ISAC' showed a cool aspect of sports. I guess we'll see the dancesport event on 'ISAC'
on the next national holiday as well, right? With that, Day 1 of 'ISAC' ended, and on Day 2, an e-sports championship took place. It consisted of a solo match, a duo match, and a squad match of mobile PUBG. First, in the solo match, the first one eliminated was CLASS:y's maknae Seonyou. There were some fun battles among the beginners, but VERIVERY's Minchan, who is ranked #714 in the server,
and Ha Sungwoon, who won many of previous championships, showed some amazing gameplay. But the winner of the solo match was Tempest's Lew, who seized an opportunity. In the duo match, the first one eliminated was Everglow's Onda. Ha Sungwoon and Kim Jaehwan, the duo that won the previous championship,
was quickly eliminated as well. Everglow's Mia survived until there were only 4 teams left and made people laugh, but MCND's Bic and Huijun who used the "Chikorita strategy" won in the end. There were funny scenes during the squad match as well, which was the last match. Tempest's Taerae, who was the only survivor,
did nothing but drive around in a car and run over other players, while CLASS:y's maknae Seonyou chased after YOUNITE's DEY who was a beginner. The winning team of the squad match was YOUNITE in the end,
and with that, the e-sports championship ended. On Day 3, the last day of 'ISAC', the track-and-field,
which had caused a lot of worries due to injuries, as well as futsal and women's archery took place. The first event was the 60m race. For this year’s individual race, the idols who had passed the preliminary rounds held by their agencies were to compete, so people expected an incredible race. The track-and-field events on 'ISAC' are famous for
commentator Yoon Yeo-chun's curse. It's because every idol he expects to be a potential winner does a poor job. This is the first 'ISAC' in 2 years, but Yoon Yeo-chun's curse
turned out to be just as powerful as always. In Group 1 of the preliminary round of the women's division,
Yoon Yeo-chun pointed out Joonie of ICHILLIN', and she fell on the ground. And Kep1er's Youngeun, who was running in the lead, fell at the end, so Purple Kiss' Go-eun became Group 1’s winner to advance to the final round. I hope those two idols didn't get injured. In Group 2, Cherry Bullet's Jiwon,
known as a strong track runner of 'ISAC', won the race. In Group 3, Weeekly's Monday, who has the unofficial world record, won the race. Group 4’s winner was Lightsum's Huiyeon who was a 1st-timer. In Group 5, Cherry Bullet's May,
gold medalist of the last competition, won the race. And in Group 6, H1-KEY's Hwiseo,
who managed to avoid Yoon Yeo-chun's curse, won the race. In the final round with the winners of each group,
Cherry Bullet's May won the gold medal by a huge margin. And Cherry Bullet's Jiwon won the silver medal,
which showed once again how good Cherry Bullet is at running on 'ISAC'. Next, the men's division was up. In Group 1, ATEEZ's Seonghwa, who has previous experience on 'ISAC' won the race. In Group 2, P1Harmony's Soul who likes potatoes won the race. In Group 3, ATEEZ's Wooyoung,
the first one to achieve a sub 8-second record, won the race. In Group 4, Tempest's Eunchan,
who had won a gold medal in a nationwide contest before, won the race. Group 5's winner was CIX's Seunghun who fell as he finished the race. And Group 6's winner was DKB's D1 who set the fastest record. But in the final round, D1 fell at the end of the race,
and ATEEZ's Wooyoung won the gold medal. The next event was the women's archery
where many legendary videos had been born. The first match was between IVE and soloists' alliance. The soloists' alliance consisted of Choi Yena, Jo Yuri, and Hynn. IVE's maknae Leeseo did a fantastic job, but thanks to Yuri and Hynn, the solo alliance won. Meanwhile, Yena and Liz earned a new nickname: Bbang-jeom-duo.
(*Bbang-jeom means "zero point" in Korean.) The second match was between ITZY and Brave Girls. ITZY's maknae Yuna made up for the low points scored by her older members, but thanks to Minyoung's performance, Brave Girls won. The final round was between the soloists' alliance and Brave Girls, and in the end, Brave Girls won their first gold medal on 'ISAC'. Yena said she had promised to eat ramen through her nose if she won 1st place, which makes us suspect if she had done a poor job on purpose. After that, there was a game of futsal, which is another event
that makes fans worried about injuries. At first, Blue Team, which contains WOODZ,
a former soccer player in Brazil, was winning, but the futsal MVP Jaehwan did incredibly well and in the end, White Team won, 10 to 4. The last event of 'ISAC' was the 400m relay,
which is known to be the highlight of 'ISAC'. The women's division was up first. In Group 1 for the preliminary round,
Brave Girls, NMIXX, Kep1er, and LABOUM competed. Kep1er's leader Yujin caught up to the lead and took 1st place, but while passing over the baton, she got confused with the lanes and ended up blocking the other runners,
so Brave Girls and NMIXX, who finished 2nd and 3rd, advanced to the final round. In Group 2 for the preliminary round,
Everglow, Rocket Punch, Weeekly, and Cherry Bullet competed. Weeekly, which is a tall group, ran really fast and took the lead. Cherry Bullet fell behind at first,
but Cherry Bullet's May and Jiwon narrowed the gap. But they failed to catch up.
In the end, Weeekly and Rocket Punch moved on to the final round. In the final round, Weeekly's Soojin took the lead
and Monday expanded the gap, and won the gold medal in the end. The competitiveness in the men's division was intense as well. In Group 1 for the preliminary round, DKZ, AB6IX, WEi, and P1Harmony competed. Maybe it was the competitiveness or a problem with the shoes or the track, but P1Harmony's Soul, AB6IX's Woojin & Donghyun, and WEi's Junseo fell
early on in the race, which made people worried. But fortunately, no one got injured,
and P1Harmony and DKZ advanced to the final round. Yoon Yeo-chun said that it's the runners' competitiveness,
not the track, that caused them to fall, which I think might make the fans angry. In Group 2 for the preliminary round, VERIVERY, ATEEZ, ONEUS, and TNX competed. And VERIVERY's Gyehyeon fell on the ground right at the beginning,
which made many fans worried. And yet, VERIVERY and ATEEZ moved on to the final round,
taking 2nd place and 1st place respectively. In the final round, ATEEZ showed incredible speed and won the gold medal. In this year's 'ISAC', ATEEZ basically dominated the track-and-field event. After all the events ended, White Team had 8 gold medals
and Blue Team had 2 gold medals, so White Team won. 'ISAC' had caused a lot of worries, but it was nice to see idols’ new sides and to see them have fun competing, regardless of winning or losing. If 'ISAC' takes place again for the next national holidays, I hope it involves events that don't make the fans so worried. This has been a recap of idols' performances in 'ISAC'. Did you enjoy it?
