facebook youtube everywhere you know the drill this has been a fantasy marathon that's been happening for hours and now tonight erin everybody's gonna sit down and we're gonna have our draft this is where things get a little heated even though these are professionals it's just like fantasy drafts we're at i think everybody's got their players everybody gets a little snippy i'm hoping that we do have some you know professional trash talk and i hope they lean into that a little bit here you know with the draft and everything we gotta you gotta really be for your people well there's no doubt damian woody can trash talk and in fact he's got plenty he'll be able to say check out the draft order i don't know how this was decided i'm not woody's going to join us later i'm going to ask woody if he beat everybody up i don't know because the top overall pick in the draft goes to the biggest guy in the room damien woody you see after that clay shefty you would think that chef he would have had some sort of insider knowledge on how this was going down there's there's a lot to break down from this order i got two of my guys from daley weiger tyler folgham anita marks why how did they get nine and ten yeah what's up with that i think you're sliding the sports betting team we're gonna have to really have a conversation about that after this meenakaim sitting right in the middle which i think and the draft for me is always the sweet spot like you know i don't want to be at the beginning i don't want to be there because this is a snake draft and so i like being in the middle because then at least my mind can rationalize what's coming next plus mina is arguably the smartest person in the room in every room she's in so i feel like sitting in the middle she's just going to be the like stealthy i'm going to take advantage of everything yeah i kind of think she might she's not like a dark horse but being in that spot she's going to be so good so good well and at some point this is going to be such a strange nfl season that i think it makes fantasy and betting something you cover a lot yeah so difficult because frankly you've got stack divisions like the afc west not just because my beloved raiders are the helmets next to me the fc west is going to be such a incredible division you could look at it and say hey maybe all these guys put up huge numbers but also i don't i don't i don't know there's so much new there's so many weapons it's going to be a really interesting season to try and figure out it's the one division that we've been talking about non-stop no one can really figure out how to handicap and it makes sense because they're just they're all really good teams so it's going to be interesting i'm sure we'll talk about that throughout the show though well in the afc overall i mean you can make the argument as some are some of our experts have that there are basically three teams that aren't in the playoff mix in the afc the rest of them are the nfc on the other hand looks like it's there for the pickens for some of the there's only a handful of teams that look like they're going to stand out there well i think that's also a case for why some people are trying to bet teams to win the super bowl in the nfc because it is an easier type of conference right now so we'll see how that goes but as you guys see i'm not sure yet but the eagles helmet is behind me we talk about the nfce some big big eagles fans yeah there's a lot there's a lot of hope for the eagles this year depending on what they do at the quarterback position the quarterback at tonight's show that you're going to be watching throughout the course of the night is field gates my buddy does it better than anybody he's going to be he's going to be responsible for keeping everybody somewhat professional and then we'll see how this thing goes because if there's anything i know from doing this last year and now again aaron is that people will be fired up about the guys they fall in love with uh and i know that we're gonna see lots of raiders drafted that's my i think it's it's early in the night and i'm just gonna say we're good every time we can come to to do the draft they'll help you get ready for your season and just a little bit of housekeeping before we begin let's give you the rules that how this draft works again there are 10 teams it's standard points per reception we call it ppr it's a snake draft you start with one you don't pick again until pick number 20. you've got 60 seconds between picks in rounds one through seven and then 45 seconds between picks rounds eight through twelve we'll see how things shake out plenty of value to be had tonight and there is a great group of people here and we've got most of our cast here in studio right in bristol connecticut but we do have many others joining us and let's take a look at the draft before we say hello to our entire team and that draft quarter number one overall they can first having the opportunity to make the pick that everybody else is envious of is damian woody one of our great nfl analysts and a big part of our fantasy coverage this season you see mike clay behind him adam schafters bonnie bell munich eric moody daniel top we also have liz loza tyler folgham and anita marks did i just say anita marks and tyler folgham there they are right there from vegas what's going on guys hey we are happy to be here but i see what you did after we crushed the draft last year you stick us with the ninth and tenth pick in the first round because we're out here in vegas come on guys fair with the ninth and tenth pick i how that's not like that we're making the turn watch out baby well mina kim just not gonna complain about having a late pick because she won the war room league from the 15th slot last year out of 16 teams you can go ahead and flex on it right away mina i'm just so glad you said it because i was gonna say it but since you said it now i look humble yes i did win yes a lot of people are talking about i'm probably the favorites to win this one as well we'll see how it goes i don't know anything can happen uh we have daily wager coming on after our show we're gonna dive into the odds for the war room in that very show tonight so it should be a lot of fun now let's take a look at the rest of the drafters that we have here and how about this liz loza joined the espn team this week here she is we've got her on campus should be a lot of fun daniel doff this man has the sixth overall pick tonight the seventh overall pick tonight good thing i can count eric moody relatively new to espn not quite as new as liz but great to have moody here with us stefania bell to bail the ball you already know her she is ready to dominate her draft tonight and i am told via sources that adam schefter is in fact here chef the man who knows what all of us are going to do with our picks tonight before we even do mike clay the machine the man responsible for our projections has a second pick and mr damian woody with the number one overall pick in tonight's draft how does it feel to be in the cat bird spot oh it feels great no pressure at all for me [Laughter] damian woody says no pressure whatsoever is that we can get this thing going let's get it going okay there you have it 60 seconds on the clock damian what do you get to make your pick and i'm gonna have you guys if you could kindly announce your pick out loud so the masses can hear which direction you're headed yeah i'm not gonna you know i'm not gonna drum up any anticipation or anything like that i'm going damien woody goes jonathan taylor number one overall from the indianapolis colts guy who basically led his position in every statistical category in fantasy football you know he's going he's going to get more of the same this year but i got one one bone to pick though okay tell me frank wright okay we have we talked about this on nfl live today okay this the camera my knee look at look frank wright all that nonsense she was talking about pulling back the touches no sir okay i'm going number one with you guy i need all the touches i need it all all the touches for damian woody and jonathan taylor who last season led the nfl in rushes and rushing yards and rushing touchdowns rushes of over 20 yards 40 catches as well that all seems pretty good but frank reich's had something to the effect of you can't ground and pound your way to a championship yeah you can a fantasy championship that's what really matters here no surprise there is the number one pick goes to jonathan taylor mike clay this is where things get really interesting though pick number two maybe do they i think so interesting to me apparently i mean kind of a layup here i'll take christian mccaffrey come on the guy is so good at football even last season right yeah missed a lot of action his worst game his worst game when he played in full didn't have an injury 24.7 points 24.7 he was top 15 every week he played last season the guy is just so good and look i know there's a little more wrist than there is with some other guys but look the guy's still in his prime and when he plays he's a league winner i'll gladly take him number two good pick woody don't mind taylor at one but not passing on cmc i'm happy of course the cmc just 10 games played over the past two seasons that means 23 missed but when he does play as you said he is the best player in fantasy football when he is available and on the field as things stand right now he is available and on the field some people might have considered someone like austin eckler picked number two maybe even cooper cup the first wide receiver on the board mike said the number two pick was not that dramatic so i guess that means the number three pick could be our first dramatic selection of the night shafty and i'm a bit bedeviled by this election and i say that because in all honesty you could easily take cooper cup you could easily take jamar chase you could easily take justin jefferson austin eckler is tremendous i mean there are some really strong candidates i don't think there's a clear cut number three okay i don't think there is but i'm going to default to a guy that i just think has just tremendous ability and i'm going to take jamar chase at number three make the case for jamar chase he has tremendous ability justin jefferson taught me the gritty and i owe him a lot and he's probably going to be disappointed and he'll pay for the baby gritty again i'll tear the meniscus to my left knee to go along with my right knee but i mean jefferson and jamar chase to me flip a coin and again i'll just be chased there because chase isn't going through anywhere else fourth in the nfl and receiving yards last year he was 18th in targets it was a big play waiting to happen and if that volume increases this year watch out it wouldn't surprise me if we have at least three wide receivers go in the first round but stefania only won so far fourth overall pick is yours yeah you know what i'm gonna do i'm gonna i'm gonna make one person in this group either really happy with my pick okay or really sad i'm already excited because i'm going to take austin eckler who i know liz loza loves which means she can't have him and i'm going to get him but she's going to be happy because she knows how fantastic he is look oscar went on here when i want a running back i want a running back who can catch passes he can i want a running back who's going to touch the ball a lot he will i want a running back in an excellent offense done box check and oh by the way i want a guy who gets it about fantasy football he loves he loves fantasy football he understands that the fans need him to score points he's a man of the people he is a man of the people and i love it austin eckler is my choice and austin with liz loza of a very successful fantasy football podcast to pay credence to the idea that he loves fantasy liz he is all in on this great game that we play he absolutely does he well i mean he's a chargers fan so every game is uh maybe an away game yeah he finds his fans in her fantasy he's a smart man he knows how to cater to his audience eric moody it's pick five and i don't know how many mock traps you've done so far this nfl off season but how many of them did you have cooper cup oh you know what i was trying to skip over mina it's fine when you win the world i'm gonna get cozy because no matter what i do you're gonna win the league anyways so you don't get a first round pick no you do uh understand the selection you call los angeles no i get it i'm the prohibitive favorite i understand um adam sheffield with his pick i'm gonna grab my thesaurus and say i am flummoxed that no one else is taking cooper cup easiest pick of the day triple crown winner what are we doing folks why are we overthinking this i know that they added alan robinson to that wide receiver group i do expect him to score a fair amount of touchdowns this year based on what i've seen at rams camp but the thing about cooper cup and the reason why i love him obviously his production speaks for himself it's not just the combination of him and matthew stafford the quarterback it's a combination of him and head coach sean mcvay who is so brilliant and finding ways to get this guy the football we saw that in the super bowl it didn't matter if he was double teamed he will move him around that formation get him in the slot get him free releases he will do whatever it takes to get the ball in cooper cup cups hands we see what he does with the ball in his hands this to me is a no-brainer i am thrilled to get the hometown hero yeah again we could have had cooper cup go off the board of pick number two i don't think any of us would have been totally surprised mike remind me how many more points a cooper cup have than every other wide receiver last year uh 500 i think it was just about that it was 96. 96 more points than the next closest wide receiver so i was trying to get eric moody the fifth overall pick in the draft my negotiations were unsuccessful and my opportunity for you to draft cooper cup also unsuccessful i i know you know i was i was kind of salivating here i was thinking you know what i may be able to get cooper cup and i knew in my mind that the uh the picks were reversed and i was like you know what i thought i was going at six but if if field wants to do that i may consider going but you know hey it's okay so i'm sitting here you know i'm on the clock and i'm sitting here thinking about who to go with so no hesitation so with with the six overall pick i'm going to go with dalvin cook i want to tell everyone a little bit on why you know you look at the supply and demand of viable fantasy running backs and the supply is very very limited doesn't meet the demand but you look at uh dalvin cook like he's averaged 23.7 touches and 122.3 40 yards per game since 2020. what i do like is that you know kevin o'connell here he may end up lining up at wide receiver you know he's going to get the rushing accounts and so when you're looking for a fantasy running back someone to build your team around well if i'm on the clock here i don't have cooper cup obviously but i feel very very comfortable and confident building a team around dalvinco feels like dalvin cook is due for some positive touchdown regression another one of those fancy terms i learned from mike clay he has not found the end zone quite as much in recent seasons on the ground as you'd expect i think that number could spike this season daniel really interesting justin jefferson i'm gonna are you kidding me he was top five in snaps amongst wide receivers snaps routes targets receptions receiving yards fantasy points the dude is absolutely elite i have no idea what's wrong with any of you i am so excited to be able to have justin jefferson on my team daniel's just coming out shots fired all night justin jefferson has more receiving yards than any other player through the first two years of his career in nfl history that seems pretty good to me right yes pretty good and there is talk talk at least that justin jefferson now playing for kevin o'connell formerly the rams offensive coordinator could have some cooper cup-like utilization which that seems like a really good thing as well liz pick eight is yours first pick is an espn employee what do you got well welcome to the team thank you very much daniel duff um i you know yesterday during the marathon i've had my concerns about derrick henry not because of the injury but because of his performance per particular metric called broken tackles plus missed tackles per attempt it's a little bit complicated but basically he was not elite in that category before the injury in tennessee that being said stefania last night allied many of my fears in fact saying that she's more worried about the guys running into derek henry than derek henry so with the eighth pick i will take the king of nashville there you go eric kenny there you have it and just a reminder before he got hurt last year derek henry was so far ahead of the pace of every other running back that he broke some of our stat models derrick henry was literally doing things that no other running back at their very best could even dream of 30 rushing yards 30 rushing attempts in the game totally acceptable from derrick henry in some ways predictable from derrick henry if stephania says the foot doesn't bother her doesn't bother me as well so the former fantasy king goes number eight overall we headed out to hand it out to vegas where tyler folgham is officially picking the rams defense with this first pick based off the jersey alone yeah i had the first pick last year and i couldn't take aaron donald unfortunately and donald he would have paid off getting that ring finally but with the ninth pick in the first round of the 2022 fantasy draft i'm gonna take travis kelsey tied in from the kansas city chiefs and guys this is a positional scarcity pick there's really only well let's put it this way with tyreke hill gone travis kelsey is actually the wide receiver number one now with patrick mahomes tethered to him as his quarterback i know juju smith schuster and mvs and skye moore are there but we know that patrick mahomes trusts 87 as much as anyone getting a little up there in the age model that concerns me only slightly but to have a tight end on my roster who will give me wide receiver one production that's the type of first round pick that i want so i'm going travis kelsey of the kansas city chiefs anita now you get the uh 10 11 turn here what do you think about that kelsey pick though i love you so freaking much boys oh my gosh i mean like who who has it better than i do right now at 10 guys no nobody you know why i'm gonna go najee harris running back for the pittsburgh steelers okay we're hearing maybe maybe okay i'm not doing the second pick i'm not doing the second pick um we're hearing maybe 10 15 percent less carries i'm not buying it the dude's a beast they've improved their offensive line i just i love najee harris so that's who i'm taking with my last the last pick in the first round and hold on if you're wearing that shirt and we don't know who you're picking at 11 then something's wrong so here's the thing flying out here to vegas i must have participated in at least 10 mock drafts and like not one of them did i have the ability to have two of the running backs that i covet available when i make the turn i love you so much i love you so much out there in vegas we're not going to spoil pick 11 but there is a ton of wide receiver talents still on the board the first 10 picks of our espn fantasy football marathon draft tyra kelly you heard of him debo samuel or heard of him devonte adams you heard him healing leads the nfl and receiving touchdowns over the past five seasons there he is the wide back debo samuel and tyree kill plays with the quarterback that apparently is even more accurate than patrick mahomes his word not mine stephanie bell and aaron not a lot of surprises at the top running backs go uh early went awful we knew that that's what we expected we knew jonathan taylor most likely was gonna go number one so this is not a surprise we know the running backs everyone loves to take them right away so are you have any reservations towards this because i do a little bit i think there's a little reservation for me with christian mccaffrey second overall and i know all of the apps are telling you to take him i just i don't know what the quarterback situation is going to be their health has been an issue year in and year out i have a little bit of a hard time with that and if baker mayfield ultimately ends up starting he loves to pass the ball i don't see christian mccaffrey there's a lot of issues going on i think with chris mccaffrey as well because it wasn't just injured last season the past two seasons only played in 10 games well and then i think the surprise has continued third overall shefty taking jamar chase and look i love jamar chase i love joe burrow we all love jamar chase and joe burrow but justin jefferson sliding all the way down while you're taking tomorrow chase i i don't know like commentable things i think we're a little bit of super bowl bias going right there a little bit just a little bit but i honestly if i was going number one overall i think i still would have taken derek henry i would have done what liz did i know that's a maybe a bold take there but it's gonna be running like crazy this season for the titans i mean they're certainly not going to throw the ball more given the situation their wide receivers are just gone at this point so what are you gonna do the biggest question they're gonna have in tennessee is is it more challenging without great wide receivers we'll go to one of the greats damien woody woody joining us he's on the broadcast had the first overall pick here's the most important question did you beat everybody up to get it or did you just walk in and say i'm taking the first pick because you're the big man in the room you get what you want yeah i'm the biggest guy so i don't have to beat anybody up i can just you know demand what i need and then it all came to fruition you're not wrong were you surprised we're breaking down some of the surprises was there anybody in there that really surprised you um you know i would say that travis kelsey won the travis kelsey pick surprised me a little bit but i understand the rationale you know picking a tight end that early you know maybe a little bit of a head scratcher but you know there's only going to be a few of these tight ends that's going to get picked relatively early and then it's going to drop off a cliff so i understand the reason in there especially with tyreke hill moving on to miami and tell us how much analysis went in to picking jonathan taylor at number one uh absolutely zero okay like that was probably the easiest pick i've ever made in sports in my whole life like i literally rolled out a bit i've been thinking about this pick all day because it was that easy for me picking number one overall all right real quick before we let you go woody what's the snack game you got any like did they get you something to keep you fed you know man i'm going healthy i got like an apple and just water you know i don't want to fill up my body with any junk just the let's take a look at what the first round looked like picks one through five jonathan taylor christian mccaffrey to mark chase suspense built up by shefty austin eckler and cooper cup lasted all the way until media times take five picks six through ten there you see them right there dalvin cook justin jefferson derek henry travis kelsey and naji harris some value for anita marks at the end of the draft mike clay what'd you think of travis kelsey going to pick number nine field a little early a little early for me didn't love it didn't love it i mean you look at last season look that's the end of my analysis look last season travis kelsey look at hatch rate yards for target i'm looking at you tyler i see you over there end zone targets he had four of those they were all career lows his target chair was the lowest we've seen in a long time he's 33 years old now and frankly you took the wrong tight end how about mark andrews coming off a career he had 14 endzone targets the guy is six years younger that is the right first tight end to come off the board this season and also they should be coming off the board late in round two not late in round one tyler come on buddy patrick mahomes is still the qb in kansas city right and he's he's gotta throw to someone is he gonna throw for three thousand yards this year or closer to five thousand i i like i like having a tight end who has put up some of the most prolific tight end seasons in the history of fantasy football mike clay i think uh we did we mute tyler i didn't hear what tyler said i was sitting here and i thought it was my earpiece for a second but tyler i'm sure that was riveting analysis with all due respect uh we'll try to make sure we get the audio of it somewhere uh if anita can hear me you are back on the clock we don't know who you're taking but we think there's a possibility that this player's last name is shared with a pop singer icon yeah absolutely just like adam said anita can hear me but we can't hear her but i don't think we think we know how she's taking her just point yeah with the 11th pick in the 2022 espn fantasy football marathon mock draft anita marks takes deandre cliff running back from the detroit lions from the university of georgia dan you're a lions van take it away yeah i was hoping deandre swift was going to fall to me here in the second round but i'm thrilled with this pick he was a top three running back and points per game for the 11 games that he was healthy last year crazy usage in the passing game i think this offense is just gonna get better i love being able to get him as your number two running back anita i am with you at the turn great pick here i think we have anita back anita that was absolutely outstanding miming you were doing right there what is it you like about deandre hopkins that you can verbalize my running man i know you guys don't like the fact that he took travis kelsey i love it and again you know deandre swift this was a guy that i i i i knew i would get at the turn i'm not gonna lie to you i'm not sure whether or not the audience can hear you i can't um so we think that the audience can and here's what i'm here to tell you we're going to move forward to the next pick can you give us who you have at pick number 12. i tyler fulgam if you can hear me i'm going to be taking running back saquon barkley of the new york here because he's an eagles fan i know that so he's not rooting for any giants saquon barkley i think this is an opportunity to get a guy who's a true three down workhorse goal line and pass catching back for the giants if brian dabel is as good as i think he is that often should score twice as many touchdowns which will make them just about league average instead of one of the worst in the nfl this season and saquon could catch 50 60 70 balls get a thousand rushing yards and score 10 on the ground and four or five more through the air i think this is where i'm at right now one of the last opportunities to get a guy who has that true fantasy winning profile at running back he doesn't come off the field and he scores in every single way passing game running game goal line have it all so maybe that's more a little more um off the board than travis kelsey but i love saquon as my second pick offensive line there we have it now let's pick up the pace here move on to liz loser for your second pick well there's a lot of receiving talent left on the board i am choosing between two different receivers one is reuniting with a college teammate and the other one is the qb one's wide receiver one so that's the way i'm gonna go i am going to select stefan diggs as my first wide receiver and second pick of the game 10 touchdowns last year even if his yardage came down a little bit from the year before okay there you have it hardy argus von digs in the second round daniel you're back up again yeah i really wanted deandre swift as i said am i i'm gonna go with joe mixon here listen joe mixon third in total carries last year and carries inside the five yard line he's on an elite offense he is going to have goal line touches i wish he would get a little bit more work in the passing game but joe mixon as my as my rb one here in the second round i'm good with this yeah crazy rushing volume last year for them and i hear the bengals are gonna be good at offense again this year eric mooney you're back on the clock i'm i'm in a little pain because you took joe mixon yeah you took joe mickey from me that hurt that hurts quite a bit but you know what i just got a breath of life and you know for this pick so round two pick five i'm going to go with alvin kamara okay there you have it so you know i'm a saints fan so hey i'm letting everybody know this isn't a homer pig when you look at his volume that he's that he's gotten uh very active as a runner and as a pastor love him quite a bit that's who i'm going and recent reporting from our colleague here adam schefter has indicated the possibility that he could not be suspended until next season we'll see you there but there's at least a chance that could happen right chef this might be pushed back to next year yeah everything keeps putting pushback and the more that happens the more you think that any discipline that will happen to alvin kamara might be in 2023 not 2022. okay so after eric moody we skip ahead to stephanie bell i'm kidding anita i mean mina's back on the clock that was a joke the first one was a mess up this one was a joke okay um i'm really tempted by a certain tight end whose name has been mentioned who i think is going to be a target monster yeah no i mean i love it noah fan baby uh daniel said noah fan at the same time i can't believe man just keep hitting me with the seahawks running back jokes please um yeah no no i'm gonna go with aaron jones for a couple of reasons split backfield with aj dylan he does get some carries at the goal line but with that wide receiver group being what it is as much as we love future hall of famer romeo dobbs um they are going to target those running backs a lot they already do like to target them i think aaron jones is going to get a lot of scrimmage yards behind what still has a very good offensive line aaron rodgers trusts him in both phases of the game i just think that he's probably the most reliable of these wide receiver running backs even though there are a couple ahead of him on my board by the way uh mina earlier today aaron jones aaron rodgers set up aaron jones i could see him getting 50 catches this year i think it's a conservative estimate to be honest with you here we are pick 17 and a certain 49er still on the board stefania you can pick with your head your heart or both in this instance and i will meena skip the seahawks so i feel like i should pass the 49ers at this point do what you want in your team that's true that's true but you know what i'm gonna go with uh the player that my clay already did the analysis on because i want my clay to love my pick and that's mark andrews at tight end because i don't think he'll last on the turn no and i i like i was thinking about devonta adams there think about going with this receiver who's still available who obviously is intended to be a target monster in las vegas but mark andrews is lamar jackson's favorite outlet play and you're not there's a big drop off at tight end after him i'm with mike i have mark anders ahead of travis kelsey this year so i feel like i'm lucky that he made it this far two tight ends in the top 17 chef that you are back on the board first time around took a wide receiver and jamar chase wow uh wow i just can't believe some of the talent that's still on the board here and the problem jeff is when you say wow for all we know like a superstar could be getting traded gotta be a little more clear when you say wow i uh am looking at this spot right here and uh i'm going to go with none other than devonte adams i wasn't playing for the wide receiver wide receiver but it's yeah i mean he's sitting there he's a great player like i'm not going to overthink that one devante adams pick 18 for davonte adams who has 69 receiving touchdowns over the past five seasons the guy is simply unstoppable i know it's a different offense different quarterbacks he's got a connection with derek carr that dates back a long way so i know it's not playing with hall of fame quarterback aaron rodgers but i think these guys are going to get along pretty well well some great success over the next few years derek carr could literally be in the hall of fame conversation check the numbers if they win a super bowl he would certainly be in the mix mike clay you're back on the board pick number 19 you have been patient i cannot believe the debo samuel disrespect wow in drafts right now agreed i cannot believe he's available this late in drafts look you look at the first half of last season right barely touched the ball as a runner right it was mostly as a wide receiver yeah he was number two in fantasy points per game then they switched them to a dual roll right the the what do we call it wide back it's a wide band wide back you're not just giving this analysis to pivot are you no okay i'm not i'm i thought that was clear but my apology so uh then he plays the wideback role he's fourth in fantasy points per game right so no matter how they use them it doesn't matter i don't care if he runs i don't care if he just plays wide receiver the guy is tremendous he's my pick here easy one there you have it now damian woody you my friend have been waiting a long time trent williams still on the board nelson still on the board you've got a couple other a lot of notable offensive line and still available for you which way you're going instead yeah i would love to pick off a salon i'm alarming their heart but i'm going to go with cd lamb yeah one thing we talk about with cd lamb is you know the past couple years his target share has been meh yeah you know well obviously that's due with amari cooper yep you know they had cedric wilson who moved on to the miami dolphins but now you look at the dallas cowboys offense who's that going to be throwing the ball to cd lamb that's what he's going to be throwing the ball to and he's going to throw it to him a lot because of the the lack of depth at that position so i think he's going to be a target monster this year 198 targets vacated by mari cooper and also cedric wilson from last season hey we're just getting started here through two rounds still on the board a guy in javonte williams who damien woody said could be a league winner he's got the next pick by the way also available tyree kill he's still sitting there two would have drafted him first overall meanwhile a quarterback not yet picked how soon will josh allen hear his name called more to come here get your team drafted right now [Music] all right we're back at the house and neon aaron dolan jason fitz getting you caught up on everything during the breaks and obviously aaron a little bit of a surprise for some of us in the room because we saw in round one kelsey goes off the board in round two we see mark andrews go off the board so two tight ends off the board neither of them named george kittle no neither the name george kittle but i really do like the mark andrews play because i do think the ravens are going to be go back to their normal ways of being a run heavy offense it makes a lot of sense there's a ton of injuries last season they went up to the seventh most past heavy team up from 30th the year before now lamar jackson back a much healthier roster he's going to get a lot of looks yeah i agree with you and no team lost more games due to injury for starters than the ravens last year i think they're going to have a big bounce back here kittle also speaks a little bit to the quarterback conversation because at the end of the day we have no idea who trey lance is as a quarterback the last time we saw any meaningful football from him it was at north dakota state i think any sort of a guess right now about what to expect from the weapons in san francisco is just that it's a guess it is a guess and i feel like a lot of analysts are really big on trade lands i'm just i'm personally not seeing it just yet for me to make a hard solidified stance on that but it's been a little iffy for me and that's one of the reasons why i've said all the time on spain and fitz a great radio show you can check out on espn radio 7 or 9 p.m eastern monday through friday uh that you know frankly if i'm the 49ers and i get stuck with jimmy g still on that that team i'm good with that i want a backup plan in the meantime we need no backup plan when we have anita marks hanging out with us anita you're doing a great job you go big on the running backs was there any sort of consideration for you because it's a long time until you pick again and he worried about not going wide receiver yeah so again flying out here i must have participated at least 10 mock drafts uh on that very long flight from new york and and not one of them was nanjay harris still available for me at 10 in the first round but because the wonderful and fabulous tyler who i work with picked kelsey i was just like are you kidding me one two punch i knew that i was going to get de'andre swift on the back end at the start of the second round listen uh he plays over 70 of the snaps for the detroit lions i do not anticipate him getting anything less than um let's say 200 plus carries maybe 70 plus receptions he's going to be a big part of that offense so the fact that i can make the turn with the one-two punch of harris and swift to me um i've already i've already won i've already i've already i've already won the league i've already won the league anita let me know though quickly are you betting with your head or your heart here how are you picking this considering your shirt when it comes to fantasy come on aaron we've been working together for a while now you know me you got to leave your heart at the door especially especially in fantasy you got to leave your heart at the door no no no heart picks here i just uh i think both these running backs are going to be have a massive massive volume i'm needed you got to get back to hometown kid for eric moody meena guyms continues her strong start with aaron jones mark andrews goes 17th and shefty lands devante adams all the way at pick 18. that was surprising as with steve samuel going number 19 plus cd lamb at pick number 20. mike clay what is the theme of round two as you look at it on a macro level it was uh mostly chalk actually right nothing too out of out of whack here love the value in devonta adams and nebo samuel of course at 19 biggest like your own pick yeah interesting right biggest reach so far of the draft other than travis kelsey is safe juan barkley so [Laughter] [Applause] now i can't really say i'm not really allowed to say anything else on saquon barkley by rule i need permission from stephanie after what happened last season if you watch this draft but i will just say a little early for my liking fold them defend yourself well i will later go back to my draft from 2021 when my strategies have worked out but travis kelsey is tied to patrick mahomes i like that and saquon barkley is going to be on the field 80 85 of the stats for the giants that's that's how i'm defending myself with those picks that's weird how he didn't say who barkley was tired brian how about brian davil that's who he's tied to that was a good jason get there by folger that was justin bieber all right so everybody goes number 12. i got just for my seat and i i have no i have no skin in the game here i'm just the person sort of hosting this event uh duante adams certainly stood out demo samuel certainly stood out we see some running backs going early deandre swift i feel like mr eric moody could be kind of underrated this year i think people know how good he was last year but they don't realize his top five running back in fantasy football last season his upside in the passing game is ridiculous thoughts on deandre swift you know what i was anytime deandre swift's names mentioned you know i get excited because i think one thing and hey woody you're going to like this you look at this lion's offensive line right how this lion's offensive line has improved they're surrounding jared goff with playmakers essentially replicate what he was able to do in los angeles when you bring all that together you look what todd gurley was able to do and i think deandre swift is very capable of that type of production you know what from the time they moved on to damien woody that offensive line upgrade yeah that is true [Laughter] it worked out for everybody that's right damian woody you're back on the clock here as we're into the third round first pick you have already taken jonathan taylor and c.d lamb where are you going well you know before you went to breakfail there was i think was the word i'm looking for is called foreshadowing you know when you talked about a certain individual in denver yeah um so my pick is going to be javonte williams okay this is a guy that obviously had you know had a 50 uh share with with melvin gordon in the backfield but i don't think that's gonna be the case this year yeah i mean you're talking about now guys 22 year old back who's about to explode this shield melvin going to find back 29 years old i think the lion's share for the denver broncos in that backfield is going to be javonte williams i expect him to have a huge year this year and on top of the opportunities they're probably going to score a lot more this year with russell wilson at the control panel so the opportunity for touchdown should spike as well mike clay who's been judging our picks and seems to like his own the best that's weird you're up now pick 22. that is weird right i do like that pick i'm in on javante i'm with you there i'm going with tyrikill here i'm gonna get kyrie kale look uh we're not valuing him how we were when he was with patrick mahomes and in this chief's offense but last season teams ran a ton of cover two against the chiefs right they tried to shut down that passing game what did tyrek do he had a career high in targets and receptions right a lot of weeks a little inconsistent but still very productive i think he'll be fine he loves his new quarterback we know that for sure i think tyrique will be a mid to back end wide receiver one i'll take him here in the third round moving on to pick number 23 adam schefter so far has a wide receiver first in jamar chase and then a another wide receiver in devonta adams i believe the lone drafter without a running back on his roster through two rounds shefty will you break that streak yeah well i i think because of that i mean i'd be tempted to take a lot of different guys here um man i'm looking at this and i am tempted oh boy a lot of running backs staring at you mm-hmm there aren't there but there's some more wide receivers out there too adam a lot of kickers left stop it listen uh i i wouldn't have gone into this draft thinking that in round three my pick would be one leonard fournette but he's still there he's a good value he's gonna be the top back on a productive offense we'll go leonard fournette and make him my rb1 you know chef d a lot of people have talked about how the bucks offensive line along the interior is an entirely different group than last year i weirdly think if that interior offensive line struggles it's going to impact the running game more than the passing game it might mean even more attempts for tom brady who had over 700 last year and leonard fournette one of the best receiving backs in the nfl stefania you are back up yes well i was trying to think of a big word but i need to get my thesaurus out because we've already had to be deviled and flummoxed and foreshadowing and i'm just like stumped [Laughter] here's the thing earlier today when we did a podcast and uh one mic clay referred to stacking players as gross i think was the word yes well yeah in intent team league but i'm going to do something where i'm going to take a player from the same team but a different position and i'm going to go with keenan allen of the chargers as my receiver because all he does is at rack up the yards four of the last five seasons over a thousand yards receiving he's been consistent after a couple years his first couple years in the league where he struggled to stay on the field had a couple injury issues he's been incredibly reliable playing virtually the entire season his quarterback trusts him and he's got a pretty good one and justin herbert it's a star offense so pretty much justin herbert just needs to focus on austin eckler and keenan allen and i'll win the league justin herbert austin eckler keenan allen mike williams josh palmer who's our kicker these days dustin hopkins definitely is building a beast over there all right no issue with keenan allen whatsoever he feels to me like maybe the safest pick in fantasy football based off where he is going the guy is a thousand yards 100 catches and probably around six to eight touchdowns every single season manichem's back on the clock here mina out in los angeles where keenan allen plays his ball who are you going with the pick number 25. oh taking a running back in a cliff kingsbury offense do i dare yes i do i'm gonna take james connor um he is the unequivocal number one with chase edmunds now in miami they've got some you know younger backs behind him but in my mind there's no doubt they're gonna be going to him at the goal line and here's the thing as much as we think of this offense as being you know air raid four wide receivers on the field they've actually been better at running the ball and throwing the ball at various points during cliff kingsbury's tenure there and i suspect with deandre hopkins out due to suspension even with marquis hollywood browned in the mix they are going to lean on that run game more than people think i think james connor is a pretty safe pick actually um just because he is undeniably going to get the workload in arizona so he's going to get a lot of touches mike clay is the king of regression could we expect him to keep up his 18 touchdown pace from last year no if you score 14 or more touchdowns you're pretty much guaranteed to drop off the next season it's like a 95 hit right however mina i do like this pick i do and i'll actually attach it to the leonard fournette pick that adam made because these are kind of boring players this year right like nobody wants them and they're still probably going to score 10 to 12 touchdowns and be the feature back in uh in very very good offenses and remember no more chase edmonds conor's role as a pass catcher can't expand so i like it i think these are savvy picks here in the third round i hope that he can handle the increased workload that's thing has never been able to be on the field for a full season has michael have you accounted for the alternate helmets in your projections this year i did not that's like a new metric i'm working on but it's i went to the great wesleyan university about 20 minutes from where we are right now and the cardinals alternate helmets are a spitting image of our helmets at wesleyan and we have a juggernaut of offense so if james connor wears the alternate helmet in a couple weeks might have rb1 value not like top 10 running back i'll work on that hashtag analytics got that dialed in for the next run of projections mike play a man of many trades eric mooney back on the clock your third over or your third pick so far which way you had you know i was just thinking where you mentioned like juggernaut you know just to add to all this plethora of words sneaky you know i got a tough decision here you know i'm looking at this you know we got dj moore there you know mike evans we got jalen waddle we got michael pittman jr but you know they're not then i'm sitting there looking i'm like everyone's forgotten about t higgins all this jamar chase talk adam i'm like he's a great receiver commands a lot of defensive attention but i'm looking at mr clay's projections i was tempted on t higgins at my spot i know i'm like he's there and so i am going to go with uh with t higgins for the selections i'll put that out there uh you know graphics like you mentioned field but um you look at mike's projections you know for everyone out there that's watching he has jamar chase projected for 131 targets but then you've got t higgins there projected for 125. such a significant discount and it's a discount that i'm going to take advantage of in this draft to continue building this juggernaut yeah people might be surprised by that but you look at the games they played together last season almost even in targets so that's the justification dee higgins very good too i think i think chase's targets can go up this season uh our chases can higgins is right there as well he's they're both very good both guys will be very busy stefania referenced how mike earlier today on the fantasy focus had a less than thrilling endorsement for having two wide receivers from the same offense because of the possibility of something happening to their quarterback and then losing value on both those players shafty just teased the possibility of potentially taking t higgins to pair with jamar chase what was the calculus there what are the pros versus the cons well i would have done it but i didn't want to start my draft with three wide receivers made me uncomfortable yeah but when i saw t higgins sitting there his numbers are comparable to jamar chases jamar is a little bit better and there's more upside but t higgins is a tremendous receiver and productive and you know what i have no problems locking in the bengals passing game and if my second pick devonte adams had been one of the running backs camaro or aaron jones or whoever i i would have stacked bengals receivers and been perfectly okay with that i am a hundred percent convinced that the only reason why the bengals did a naming rights deal for their stadium now pacor not paul brown stadium it's because they got to pay the against marches over these next couple of years they're going to have a golden state warrior pedro that's right they're going to have a golden state warriors type payroll in the next couple of years uh daniel dopp yes caught a touchdown pass from russell wilson which is always a fun fact to weave in when you can you're up so i i was going to have a tough decision because i love tee higgins falling but i took joe mixon early on in the draft so i was in that same spot i'm really glad that that eric took him so i didn't have to worry about it and i'm going to go with mike evans here yes especially having justin jefferson i have a guy that's a target monster and with mike evans understanding that sometimes targets aren't always there he's that big play potential he is the touchdown guy he is he's been a top 12 wide receiver each of the last two years but understanding that he doesn't have as many targets as everybody else i love being able to pair him on my roster with justin jefferson who is a target monster and getting both of these guys i love as my top two wide receivers because mike evans is still i think a wide receiver one and i'm he's my wide receiver too on my team uh chef i would be i have to ask you about tom brady because as of right now tom brady is not with the tampa bay buccaneers is there any concern about his availability i i don't believe there's any concern i fully expect that when the bucks are back from week one that my running back leonard fournette will have his quarterback back okay and most importantly get your priorities straight there the bucks last said they expect tom brady back with the team after august 20th game against the tennessee titans in the pre-season liz loza you are back on the clock here i can't tell that's a very contemplative look right there well there are some interesting running backs and i have gone off script for this draft i've done a million mocks it feels like over the summer and i've taken derrick henry and zero of them so i'm thinking about moving but you know what i actually have a question for mike clay do you like love doesn't matter he loves a single running back backfield and cam acres coming back from that achilles again stefania lied any feel any feelings or fears about it last night i think he's going to be awesome he averaged 22 carries and 118 scrimmage yards down the stretch after being anointed post todd gurley's injury in 2020. this is his backfield he's attached to matt stafford he's attached to a lit offense and most importantly he's attached to sean mcfay so please as my rb2 i would love to have cami there you have it 28th off the board overalls we're getting close to the end of round three of our fantasy football marathon draft we head it back out we head back out to vegas right now tyler need to back up tyler you get one anita you get two liz ingratiating herself to me by roasting mike clay right there after he's been roasting my pick so i love her and what she did right there i don't know how uh mike's gonna feel about this is what i did last year first quarterback off the board joshua he was qb1 two years ago he was qb1 last year i see no reason why he won't be qb1 again this year along with the passing of course we get a guy who acts as like a fullback near the goal line he scores rushing touchdowns which makes him so valuable his floor is always 20 22 23 points so give me the first qb off the board like i did last year with josh allen i'm going back to the guy who was the favorite to win the league mvp this year okay there you have it our first quarterback off the board second to last pick in the third round mike clay too early you know what i wouldn't have done it but i'll allow it i'm working on grades here live grading so i'm keeping track here uh look he has 63 more fantasy points than any other quarterback over the past two seasons the guy is so good i mean i don't think people realize he was below average in yards per attempt and completion rate last year below league average and he still was the number one quarterback easily so i'll give it to you tyler okay there you have it tyler finally in the good graces of my clay anita marks has just one pick and anita has more wardrobe changes than the academy awards host uh i think i knew it that isn't yeah now i know who it is in your shirt uh anita if that's not your third round pick don't spoil the beans in your fourth round pick what are you taking to pick number 30. i i'm i've learned my lesson now i know how this show i know how this show operates so i won't spoil it yes i'm wearing aj brown i'm going to go aj brown with this selection and by the way my clay shame on you did you not get the shirt i sent you hello why aren't you wearing your aj brown shirt i'm supporting my racing league tonight i have yours back here though maybe i'll make a switch at some point so i have it in my possession i mean listen love love this i love this eagles team i love this eagles offense um he's going to be a big stud a big star in it i could i could see them utilizing him very similar to how the san francisco 49ers utilized debo samuel so again was fortunate to get najee harris and deandre swift at the first turn i'm fortunate now to get two wide receivers i'm not going to tell you who my second is yet stay tuned for that okay round four what a tease right there what a pro anita marks is and perhaps fourth round pick that nina marks would make patrick mahomes have you heard that he's still good at football he's also still available in our draft right now patrick mahomes who's probably gonna throw for like four thousand yards feel like ten games justin herbert also still available he's going as quarterback three in most drafts on average and speaking of drafts if you are not one of the one point eight one two nine two one people that have drafted a team so far join the party if we do not have two million people by the end of the show tonight i'm not sure what i'm gonna do but it's gonna be probably pretty crazy join the party get the two million coming back with more round know have to do some research here but very excited for them also mike clay big eagles fan as well so a lot of us have high expectations this season i had high expectations for our friend tyler fulgam who joins us now tyler are you even trying like are you even attempting at this point poor tyler i mean you don't like travis kelsey you don't like saquon barkley what's wrong with josh allen is that is that what you're coming at with me here is my draft not up to the standards out there i mean i'm little kelsey was like i'm just saying kelsey surprised the room a little bit josh allen surprised the room a little bit i just said okay well let me let me explain myself here yet again with travis kelsey you're getting a guy who's a tied in only by name he's a wide receiver in terms of the targets the uh yards and the receptions that he gets and patrick mahomes is quarterback and tyree kill is no longer there to steal some of those targets my one concern if there is any is that he's getting a little older but i trust my homes to get him the ball a hundred times for 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns this season and i get that production in my tied in spot which is going to have me ahead of everyone else in my league all right tyler i am on your side here because obviously you know a little sports betting buddy of mine but how do you think you're doing stacking up against all these other players making this draft yeah well i like i said i like that i have i think the best tied in in terms of production maybe not in real life but in terms of production i got a running back in saquon barkley i think is primed for a big bounce back and i know some people were going ah but a couple years ago he was like the number two overall pick people were drafting him number two overall and i think his environment is as good as it's been in a long time they've upgraded the offensive line they've upgraded the coaching staff and then i drafted josh allen who i had on my team last year he's been the qb one in fantasy each of the last two years so why wouldn't i ride that train again i know i'm getting a lot of you-know-what but i think i'm doing pretty well with my draft clay is stepping in for malkite virginia tonight dj moore nick chubb jalen waddle michael pittman jr and david montgomery starting running back for liz her chicago bears we are into round four and we are going back to anita marks who just took aj brown but she has kept her aj brown shirt on she has not wardrobe changed again no i have not um but i'm going to continue going wide receiver and we just saw the list that mike clay feels the best players available and to me it is dj moore i became i came across this really crazy stat marinating this for a minute guys in three seasons dj moore has 129 uncatchable targets uncatchable why because his quarterbacks have stunk they've been absolutely horrible so now you got baker mayfield there we're expecting him to be the starter for the carolina panthers i think a lot of people are underestimating just how great of a wide receiver dj moore is so uh at the turn i'm gonna take dj morrison i've got my two running backs my two wide receivers and it's your turn yeah my friend tyler um i think i i love the dj more pick he's only ever had four touchdowns in his career i think a mike clay worked he's due for some positive regression there because the dude's so good i want to hear mike clay's thoughts on this pic because i think this is going to make him blow a gasket with my fourth selection and the second pick in the fourth round i am taking alan robinson wide receiver let's think about what odell beckham jr did at the end of last year in the postseason and now that is the allen robinson roll because odell if he comes back won't happen till november or december van jefferson's hurt behind them tutu atwell who blows off the field in the wind and ben scaronick whose hands were made of stone we saw that in the nfc title game i am ready for a massive allen robinson year mike clay man he's talking about ben scaronick as an excuse to take alan robinson in the fourth round what are we doing here man you know way too early look this guy's coming off a career uh career worst year in chicago and you can excuse it because of the team but darnell mooney had a pretty darn good season cole comment was pretty effective outside of the touchdowns i don't expect alan robinson to have a big bounce back even in a better offense after what we saw last season at age 29 there was one receiver who was a top 25 fantasy receiver last year over the age of 28 it was keenan allen i'm just i'm not saying this is way too early i uh i know somebody in this group who knows a little bit about the rams he's been at the practices he's doing the rams pre-season game thank you what does she think about alex they absolutely love him there they think he's going to produce i saw him catching passes from matthew stafford in the red zone he looked fantastic but here in the draft like thank you i don't object to the pick i object to the the placement of the pick um you know even with some of those injuries you alluded to cooper cops going to be the target monster in this offense i would have waited to take alex alan robinson 32nd off the board tyler fulgium who is nothing if not interesting when it comes to the crash next up can i give him his grade right now like we just knock that one out then it saves time later all right if you must mike all right now hold on okay liz loves that you are back on the clock with your fourth round i am back on the clock and i kind of can't believe that nick chubb is still available arguably the best pure rusher in the nfl yes he's only going to carry the ball 16 times per game even like not withstanding keen uh kareem hunt's involvement but i still love the value one of the most efficient by the way constantly averaging at least five yards per carry i have a projection of over 1500 total yards and 11 touchdowns for him as my rb3 in case derek henry breaks down give it to me all day long okay there you have it nick chubb i picked 33 daniel dopp you are up next which direction are you getting in this is really tough because i'm looking at these top two wide receivers that are on the board um between jaylen waddle and michael pittman and i want to go with michael pittman because i like the idea of grabbing someone's wide receiver one but jaylen waddle was so good last year no let's do it we're gonna go with michael pittman i'm gonna take michael pittman michael bittman jr goes next to daniel dot much of this should bring it sounded like of meena kinds who was just two spots away a quarterback upgrade obviously from carson wentz to matt ryan from boston college or michael pittman jr who again has been a darling in colts training camp eric modi you are back on the clock my friend i'm in pain again i'm in pain i like it again because you took michael pitch i'm sorry i'm drafting the good players that's what you're supposed to do on fantasy drafts i guess they say you played to win the game so that was pretty good it was cool all right so whoa you know how much i like michael pitman matt ryan you know julio jones that whole connection that they had so that that's pittman's future but unfortunately it's not in my future but i always have a contingency plan i do and i want to thank also tyler and anita you know for leaving this player on the board but we're going deontay johnson there yeah with my pen so i think he's going to get a lot of targets just to close the loop on that i know mike clay back his projections have him projected for a ton of targets fourth in the nfl and targets over the past two seasons and a very interesting development for the steelers quarterback situation today chelsea what more can you tell us about the latest in the steel city what was the first time that kenny pickett got reps of the first team offense in the two-minute drill now it was just a two-minute drill and it was the first time all summer so take that what you will but he did go 13-15 in the preseason opener and he was taking some reps in the two-minute offense today as a starter so again you take that what it yeah is right worth something it certainly seems like the gap seems to be narrowing a little bit from the outside a great philosopher mike clay once said the cream rises right yeah in the case of kenny pickett first round pick out of the university of pittsburgh of course has a chance to be the steelers starting quarterback maybe sooner than later meanie comes back on the board have i told you that mina won the world league last year in her first year in the league picking from the 15th slot not envious about it uh you're up thank you it's been about 30 minutes so you mentioned that i appreciate you bringing it up again a few more times for the quota today field for our handshake agreement okay i wanted pittman uh i'm gonna go with another wide receiver and i'm going to take terry mclaren here scary terry i think there's some apprehension around him because of carson wentz there's always apprehension around carson wentz but here's the thing carson wentz does he pushes the ball downfield he's going to push the ball downfield more than taylor heinecke did they did draft jahan dotson who i love out of penn state this year but he is uh absolutely the wide receiver too terry mclaren is a wide receiver one i expect him to produce in this offense doesn't mean this offense is always going to be pretty but he is just so trusted i think the floor is high and i think he's going to score a lot of touchdowns i hope this isn't damning with fame praise but carson wentz i think is the best quarterback terry has played with and i know that carson wentz is not incredible but i think 26 touchdowns six interceptions last year it can be misleading to look at just those stats but i think sometimes with carson wentz we hang on to the ugly moments more than we do the relatively okay moments for a pretty prolonged period of stretch a pretty prolonged stretch last year so we go from terry mclaurin and minakimes to stefania bell who bypassed an opportunity to draft the 49er in recent rounds you are back on the clock with your fourth round pick george kittle perhaps no i have mark andrews so i'm good there i'm not going to go with the total homework dump and dip on the tight ends just to mess everybody up um i'm sure i can't i can't wait to see clay's reaction to this pick actually the whole rooms maybe even woody's but i'm going to go with ezekiel elliott yeah still there yeah it's still there and i think that the hate has gone way too far on zeke and everybody's looking at last year like you know that was the death sentence for him in his career he still had over a thousand yards rushing like do people forget that and by the way he had a knee injury that caused him to look the way he did for the back half of the season a posterior cruciate ligament injury you cannot get power explosiveness and when people are talking about that was gone he was doing a favor to his team to be on the field but he was playing through that injury and he was not himself he is much better he has done a ton of work in the offseason he's not feeling the knee anymore i am told that he is timing faster than he was in the back half of the season and i talked to travis a tien an up and coming running back who spent part of the off season training with zeke and he went to him to work with him because he's so impressed with his training and so impressed with his speed so he told me he is absolutely not done i'm all in on zeke i know i i i'm alone on an island no you're not and i don't care absolutely you're isolated on the island but you're not alone on the island there are other people i'm with you there okay so i like him okay i'm not on that island i'm in a different way no yeah you're are we beefing are we beefing i know you you gave me a little grief last night about the zeke thing because you thought tony pollard could handle all the work and i'm here to tell you that tony pollard's better when zeke is better sort of feels like stefania and chef you're like the condos owners association on ezekiel elliott you guys might be a few others we'll have to figure out we're in pollardville over here uh paulaville over there uh chef you're back up did you want zeke elliott with that pick uh i would have looked at him i would have considered zeke i'm not gonna lie and again i keep coming back to this i'm keep i keep being put into this position where i'm not planning to take a wide receiver and then i see a wide receiver who's there i'm like i can't pass up jaylen waddle like i'm not gonna do it like i'm not planning to take him in the fourth round but he's sitting there in the fourth i'll take jaylen waddle in the fourth round very happy i know that we've got a new head coach there i know that we've got a new speedy wide receiver there but i also know what jaylen waddle did working with tua last year and that was pretty impressive i'll ride with that this year yeah i have an entire list of rookie wide receivers with more catches as a rookie than jaylen waddle here it is right here if we can take a single shot but there's nobody on this list because literally jaylen waddle set a record once held by anquan bolden moving forward here new mike clay who by his own admission is crushing this draft who's next uh actually i need a minute i'm still trying to find alan robinson on my list i don't think he's on here [Applause] too easy all right i'm going jk dobbins i'm going jk dobbs super athlete i know he missed all of last season may not be a full go in week number one but the guy has been so effective on the ground so far at the college level and in his first season he was really good down the stretch in his first year number one in yards per carry and yards after contact i believe in him might be a little limited as a pass catcher but his rushing volume and efficiency i think will be terrific and again it might take a couple weeks devon you know you've i just want to point out that you learned nothing from the sake one barclay experiment last year i can't say that last pick of the fourth round last pick of the fourth round for two we'll start with one i feel like i'm in a conundrum why don't you look at me when you're throwing down the big words [Laughter] he knows if he says him to me i don't have any idea um i'm gonna go with mike williams um big mike williams i'm going with mike williams i you know i'm a huge justin herbert guy yeah like i've been riding with him since he stepped foot on the field and i just think he's top two target in that offense justin herbert is going to be slinging that pill all over the field this season something wrong with mike williams mike williams who just seems to have a way of finding the end zone consistently you got to ride the wave with mike williams right you might have a 10 catch game it might be a two catch game the next week but by the end of the season you're gonna have plenty of production from big mike williams a lot of chargers so far in this draft no surprise one of the best offenses in the nfl damien has four picks in the books there you see him jonathan taylor city lamb jonte williams and also mike williams will he pick another williams next we'll find out jameson still on the board marathon returns [Music] erin dolan jason fitz the marathon never leaves if you're hanging out with us and look uh should be noted mike clay uh noted expert will join us in a moment he also made fun of tyler's dress so i feel pretty good about that uh so i feel like that's a little confidence there but we did see dj moore go at the top of this strat wide receiver panthers surprised me a little bit but you like this yes i actually think he's going to get a lot of production this season because i always am concerned about christian mccaffrey i talked about that a little bit we could actually ask mike clay about that considering that was his first pick in the first round but i do think he's going to get a lot of receptions things like that and his numbers will be boosted yeah and there's a moment for me where i think maybe i overthink things not surprising i'm super analytical but sometimes when you look at the quarterback position and the impact that has to wide receivers i can't find a quarterback solution that i'm comfortable with for the panthers so i find myself down downgrading everything from that offense in the meantime always an upgrade when mike clay hangs out with us mike thanks we've been laughing at your eye rolls at uh at some of your contestants but you did we were we were a little curious in the beginning you took christian mccaffrey any concerns about injury and frankly quarterback play in that offense with that pick well i'm not as worried about quarterback play right baker mayfield's there now i think that will be a noticeable upgrade from what we've gotten from that panthers quarterback situation the past few years a little bit worried about the injuries yes but the fact is i'm here to win i'm not here to make the playoffs or finish in third or fourth place i'm here to win and christian mccaffrey you know he's going to deliver you 24 25 plus points every single week that's even what we saw last year so a minute to win it mccaffrey hard to pass on at that pick and like you just said you're here to win it so how do you think you're stacking up against the competition i know you were giving tyler a little bit of a hard time but does anybody else stand out to you we're trying to get some trash talk going here yeah so i mean obviously i like my team so i'll recuse myself from the power rankings tyler has some work to do to catch up here um i will give a nod i'm doing a little you know taking notes along the way really like what adam schefter is doing some really good picks so far in this one kind of maximizing value getting the best available really like the leonard fournette one kind of a sneaky name right now everyone wants the new shiny toy like rashad white who they drafted this year fournette is still tom brady's guy i like that one a lot again kind of a boring pick but an effective one let's ask the real question here mike i mean you and i are similarly built and you're sitting next to woody who is built different than we are are you allowed to trash talk to amy woody because like he could pick you up and we could end up with a whole viral moment where you're through the table like a bills fan yeah so um look i'm just going to say like when i do the power rankings later and grade the the drafts he'll be pretty high he'll be pretty high i don't really care we draft so he could take a bunch of offensive linemen and kickers he'll be graded well uh get back to work we appreciate you thanks for hanging out with us sounds great uh doing great work and uh look we all rely on mike clay i just peek behind the curtains the number of times that i've found myself texting him and i'm like i need help i need insight on this like he's so smart brilliant so when he rolls his eyes or when he perks his eyebrows up like it's a badge of honor honestly if i was sitting there and he did that to me i'd be very very nervous extremely nervous well he's doing a great job i wouldn't want to play poker against him either he's doing a great job of holding it all together so far they all are doing a great job interesting he said shefty has been one of his standouts we'll talk to chef dee later because i've had some questions about the strategy pick in the fifth round yeah i'm gonna go i'm gonna go to the atl okay there you go i'm going cow pits come on i'm pulling cow piss this is a situation where this offense might be hard to look at but kyle pitts won't be hard to look at because he's going to be an absolute target monster i know he had some bad luck when he came to the red zone that's not gonna be the case this year like if they're not if marcus mariota or whoever the quarterback is down there is not force-feeding hal then i will go down there personally yeah and go see whoever's playing the quarterback position and you don't mess with damien woody that would be the football negligence that they don't get in the ball a ton mike clay you're up here why did kyle pitts a potential game changer but i will settle for uh a rookie another young player that i think is uh going to make an impact right away breese hall with the new york jets yeah michael carter is a passing passing down back there that's going to play a role but freestyle is so good at football i think he'll take a 15 plus touch role right away jeffy would had had him as his league winner last night i would have taken him oh there you go i would have taken him there mike just snaked him from me picked 43 chef dee yeah and and i wanted a running back and so when i look at that list of running backs right now i uh i'll just go travis at the end no now dang it every year you do this to me man we need to like uh report liz like when you get her earplugs or something liz liz just quit yes you gotta raise one of the two want to work here yeah etn jr from the jaguars so much upside of the passing game love him stephanie you are up with pick 44. yes i am and i need myself another wide receiver and i'm looking around and looking around going who we love these wide receivers who have quarterbacks who are going to get them the ball and we know that they're play makers so let's see there's a quarterback who moved from that calf right i know i well i thought to myself i want to i wonder what it feels like to be mina kimes maybe i'll take dk metcalf and i thought no i don't want to cry all season so wow come on we're both nfc west fans we can exchange barbs like that wow um i'm gonna go with jerry judy because there's a quarterback wow that left just keep the seahawks digging the knife and now it's going to open up that offense uh for the denver broncos and i can't wait to see what jerry judy does had a high ankle sprain last year combined that kind of an injury uh plague deer along with some rough quarterback play i i think it's wide open for him nina on the board at pick number 45 who you taking i've gotten really heavy on running backs and i'm gonna continue that and take josh jacobs here i know he's battled some injuries but this offense is going to be so hard to stop it is going to be so hard for defenses to pick their poison with darren waller and devonte adams and i think they're going to devote more bodies to coverage i think the raiders are going to see a ton of light boxes and i think josh jacobs is going to profit i expect him to see the end zone a lot as long as he is healthy i think he's going to end up really outperforming expectations this year he's a guy that seems to find his way every year right around rb20 and seems like a reasonable value at this point moody you are back up on the clock yeah i'm just taking a deep breath because i was i was kind of sweating a little bit you know i heard stefania talking and i was like i know she's talking about russell wilson and i know she's talking about jerry judy or cortland sutton but i gave i had a sigh of relief where she took jerry judy and not cortland sutton so that that's who i'm going with field goals portland sutton here so in a great situation obviously with russell wilson you know he's a big receiver very large catch radius russell wilson's uh ball placement to continue this the trend is uh it's exquisite so i got to keep the trend going so that's what i'm going with okay there you have it he led the nfl and air yards for target last season did cortland sutton daniel adopt you're on the clock yeah so i think i need to grab a running back here and when i look at these running backs they get thin really quickly uh in fact they're already quite thin and i'm gonna i'm gonna take david montgomery here and to pair with joe mixon he's always been really busy near the goal line but last year fifth with 36 carries inside the five you can give me somebody that i'm not a huge pass catcher from that standpoint but if he's getting goal line work in an offense that we're hoping is going to be better under justin fields i'm getting a lot of value here with how far david montgomery fell so i think i'm okay with him in the fifth round he played a ton under the previous regime we hope that stays the same in this new regime liz loza who's taking a pic number 48. i like mina i'm very running back heavy and so i'm looking at these wide receivers a little bit mad at my friend eric moody who took portland sutton i was very excited about the potential of that instead though i'm looking a little further down these ranks and i'm seeing hollywood brown and i'm liking at least the top of the season when he reunites with kyler murray since deandre hopkins won't be available by the way hopkins averaged 6.7 targets per game christian kirk who's also no longer on the team average over five looks per game that's nice volume for hollywood brown i like the rapport i'm going to take the upside there is my wide receiver too there you have it hollywood brown goes 48 overall full gym and anita back on the board picks 49 through 50 full time the good news is twitter absolutely loves your draft and by love i mean they are just completely roasting you oh i am i'm getting michael scott boom roasted all over the place on twitter i love it though because i'm liking the way that my draft falls for this pick in particular i'm going to grab another running back here i'm going to go aj dylan who i think has standalone value in this green bay offense of course if something happens to aaron jones then he becomes a top five weekly pick but i think this green bay team is gonna rely a lot on strong defense and a strong running game with that dynamic duo we heard aaron rodgers say that he thinks both aaron jones and aj dylan could catch 50 balls so if he really makes a a leap in that passing game we know he's a hammer down near the goal line i like aj dylan to a pair with sapon barkley in my backfield now he's taking backup running backs [Laughter] look you're not going to get me to say anything bad against about aj dylan i've seen how he treats mascots and you know i'm not going to get in the middle of that like the guy but man i mean they're starting running backs out there that's i'm just saying man i'm trying here tyler i need to bring this on round five before mike clay says something he regrets you want miles sanders do you want mile sanders over aj does that a starting running back you're telling me you went over aj dylan come on anita just just note to the producers whenever we do this can i always just be in the situation thank you thank you matthew note to self note to self listen i typically don't want to draft a quarterback until at least round seven eight nine but how can i not right now listen i'm looking i'm looking at my roster i'm set at the running back position i'm set at the wide receiver position i'm looking you know all right maybe i'll take a little mile sanders you know i like the dude there daniel dobb the wide receiver you've got in detroit but to me i think justin herbert is going to have the season of all seasons in fact i've even put money down that he's going to win the mvp this year 77 touchdowns in two seasons and now a better offensive line a plethora of talent to work with how can i how can i pass up on justin herbert right now i can't yeah he has set records of the first two years of his nfl career and also you have the t-shirt so it makes it that much more fitting to pick justin herbert herbo is off the board mahomes is still on to feel bad for him but i think it's remarkable she's had a shirt for everybody she's picked so far also woody took kyle pitts the tight end for the falcons at the top of this round which i thought was a little interesting because i like the fact that you've got a tight end in arthur smith's offense we all know that the tight end heavy marcus mariota knows arthur smith's offense also loves tight end so i could see pitts having some production yeah absolutely but i there's part of me i like desmond ritter to win offensive rookie of the year so there's a part of me that thinks that mariota might get benched earlier in the season than we expect i mean he might play the full season we don't know but i do think there's a case we made for desmond ritter well our rookie of the year is liz loser joining us now now liz this is your first time on the fantasy draft set so uh you you by the way killer first pick with the king derek henry how nervous were you going into that first pick oh how nervous i thought you said you were nervous for me and i was like i got this um how nervous was i you know i am usually someone who likes to draft from the eight or nine spot and follow an anchor rb strategy and yet i've ended up with all of these running backs i was not very nervous once i got the king at the eight spot he's not someone i normally target but i couldn't believe he was going so late so it allied any sort of anxiety i had heading into the draft and you talk about derek henry and i actually love him to actually have more rushing yards than jonathan taylor i think his production is going to be through the roof are we in agreement here i hope so now i appreciate that i mean i am a little bit worried about the foot and mostly because the odometer rating is so high and he is the you know engine through which the tennessee titans offense runs but over eight games he managed 21 fantasy points per game and still on the season ended up the rb16 so i mean that kind of data makes me excited to have him leading my squad especially since i have nick chubb the best pure rusher in the nfl arguably as my rb3 for a backup come on yeah i think that might have been a steal for you we keep looking at the depth great great work by you get back to work we appreciate you hanging out with us the uh the chub pick when when it went off the board i immediately said wow i surprised we've got a number of pretty solid running backs that are still on the board as you said you know antonio gibson elijah mitchell as well as as mike sanders um so miles sanders but i'm just i'm leaning towards gibson right now um you know i'm i'm really curious how this offense is going to operate now that they have a better quarterback a legit quarterback in carson wins i'm hoping that it kind of opens things up for them in the running game defenses aren't going to stock the box now because there'll be a threat at the quarterback situation so um so i'm gonna i'm gonna go with gibson here antonio gibson it is i gotta say i'm a little bit worried that it's gonna be so much of a committee but we shall see in washington he is a good pass catcher when he gets opportunities not sure he's going to get enough tyler folgham i uh you and i got to talk here for a second because the internet's roasting you right now uh my clay is roasting you worse than the internet is roasting you right now people are i'm saying some really good stuff i will say this i love i love the hate yeah keep bringing it i love it as long as you know it stays pg mike clay has had some creative stuff but i love my team here look i got travis kelsey who is the past catcher number one for patrick mahomes don't bother defending it because he who laughs best last laughs laughs and laughs easy enough for me to say laughs best and let's go back to last year at this time through six rounds of the draft where people were saying is this guy tyler fulgam even on the espn payroll look at your draft through heaters you my friend have nothing to defend do you know what you're doing well a guy might know what he's doing but he makes these picks here so again i like my team for this year just like last year getting cup and chase in the mid rounds and drafting qb one i got that qb one again i got the all five circumference team at running back with saquon barkley and aj dillon i have a number two wide receiver one of the past happiest offenses in l.a with alan robinson and i'm going to tie another number two receiver to my quarterback and draft gabe davis right here stack him with josh allen the same logic that applies to allen robinson applies to gabe davis right here he has standalone value and that offense is a number two wide receiver heaven forbid something happened to stefan diggs rocket ship to the moon with gabe davis just the same logic we would see with alan robinson so again i love my team please bring it right now i don't care about your adps [Laughter] in the first round this year baby oh man i love it man he's getting mad in case you're wondering it's tyler underscore fulgium on twitter he loves the heat liz closing your back up next you know this is why i love fantasy football because you always go in with some sort of plan and then you've got to let the plan go and see what falls to you i am an anchor rv evangelist got three running backs only two wide receivers in for the first time ever i'm gonna take a quarterback why not i'm taking patrick mahomes at the elite level he has never been anything less than a top six producer in his entire career some changes certainly for him but that division in the afc west should leave him should continue to have him producing and even with the changes and the hiccups that he had at the top of last year he still ended up top five so i like my quarterback let's go with patrick o'hara trick my home's a third quarterback off the board daniel dopp you are next up well here's the thing field what is the thing daniel i always get excited when i get to draft detroit lions oh okay almond ross saint brown of course you are i'm gonna take i'm on rossignol here's the thing last six games of the year 31 target share or better is 30 of a target share good mike clay is that good uh can confirm yes all right what about when he had 41 in one of those weeks is that really high seems really good all right so let's say that he even has half as many points as he did in those final six weeks he's still a top 30 wide receiver this year i'm drafting him at his floor i love him on ross ain't brown and what he's going to bring to the table this year the only concern i have is that tom kennedy of farmingdale new york and formerly a lacrosse player actually leads all nfl players in terms of receiving yards so far this preseason to keep an eye on it as we get closer to the regular season eric moody your backup back up all right so i'm happy you know i got two players that are on the board i'm looking at tight end you've got darren waller you've got george kittle so my pick in this round will be darren waller like him quite a bit i know i know devonte adams is there oh i must have upset nina there oops i must have telepathy i'm in your mind so um yeah what i like about waller you got devonte williams that's there and devonte williams is going to get targets but aaron waller is still one of the few tight ends that can surpass that 100 target threshold and also i've read reports where they want to get him even more involved in the red zone because he essentially said they didn't have a red zone package or planned for me with john gruden was there but you've got josh mcdaniels that's there i think everyone has very fond memories if they're fantasy players about how successful rob gronkowski was with josh mcdaniels and i firmly believe that darren waller can have similar success so that's who i'm going with mina you have to pivot from waller so what's your contingency plan here [Laughter] i'm going to do kittle it's the obvious pick here um i i think that's sort of the end of that elite tight end tier i obviously need a tight end i wanted waller i still love kittle i still love him with trey landset quarterback um just so reliable year after year when he's healthy i yeah i feel okay about it i don't know i know and i'm fine about it yeah i'm fine i mean no tight end has a better chance at 30 fantasy points in a week than george kittle he is truly one of one in that regard stefania a 49er goes off the board much to your chagrin who are you taking next well of course i got to take another 49er i'm going to go with elijah mitchell with this pick oh did i snipe one for me david sure did i love it i love it look i always like to provide depth in the running back position it is the most vulnerable position and no matter how healthy anyone is coming into the air that's that's a really tough position to stay on the field for 17 games elijah mitchell did struggle with that in his rookie year but he was a revelation in that 49ers offense when he came into training camp they didn't know that he was going to be the guy that they relied on but after an early injury to raheem moser elijah mitchell elevated and did things in their offense that they weren't necessarily expecting him to do they've seen it they want to try and protect him that's why he's not doing much in the preseason i know he's got a little hamstring issue right now but uh they let him get healthy from the ribbon during the off season and they love it kyle shanahan is going to give him the ball he's a terrific runner he's got great vision there's nothing to complain about chef well one question chef the uh you are actually on the clock now but health-wise for elijah mitchell we feel like there's a good chance it'll be available week one yeah i do hamstring injury again it's the kind of thing that they'll be careful with but i think when week one rolls around that's the thing you're always monitoring with a guy like elijah mitchell he was banged up quite a bit last year but when he's healthy he's exceptional let me say this they have jimmy ward has a more serious string injury and kyle shanahan actually compared it so they're not that worried about elijah mitchell but they're going to protect him so i'm i'm i would say to everyone don't worry that much about him not playing in the preseason if you have to say if stefania says don't worry i say don't worry jeffy you're now on the clock again uh a run of tight ends there i liked uh quarterbacks i like so i'm gonna go to the next best quarterback on the board right now and go with lamar jackson baltimore ravens quarterback who looks like he could be playing for a new contract lamar looks like i'll have a lot to prove uh he's been going under 50 in most drafts this is pick 58 decent value here 10 team league go quarterback chef he's the most prolific running quarterback in the league's history nearly 11 yards more per game on the ground than any other quarterback ever the guy is a cheat code in fantasy he might call you up next absolutely i'm going to go with one of the most underrated players in the nfl brandon cooks i feel like every year we talk about how we continue to disrespect this guy in fantasy drafts and yet here he is again at whatever pick this is in the seventh round a thousand plus receiving yards and a top 20 fantasy receiver six of the past eight seasons he's done it with four different teams the guy is so good every year he gets it done to get him in the seventh round an absolute steal brandon cooks just seriously it's like he went from playing with incredible quarterbacks early in his career tom brady and drew breesen here say well it's easy to have a thousand yards and you have tom brady and drew brees he continues to get the job done he will be the main target in that houston offense damian you get to close things out in round six of our fantasy draft you got two picks coming up who's the first you know what phil i don't know what kind of we have some type of rapport going on right we know what's going on because the the foreshadowing is crazy you mentioned tom brady right i'm going with chris godwin i love him this is going to be thank you again finally tom brady is going to be slinging the ball all over the field again we talked about the question on the offensive line you know especially the interior are they going to be able to run the ball well guess what i got 12 in the backfield so i'm not worried about one thing i'm going chris godwin chris godwin who last year when he got hurt was way outpacing mike evans in several important categories and evans who's a great player in his own right is going way ahead of chris goblin i understand the acl concerns but at this point of the draft not nearly enough risk to bypass somebody like chris godwin we are not done we still have six more rounds to go and nearly 1.85 million people have already signed up join in don't miss it [Music] aaron dolan jason fitz back in the neon palace and look gotta run on quarterbacks now we've seen yeah obviously josh hallowett and elma holmes goes uh we see lamar jackson go how do you like these quarterbacks well josh allen's actually the favorite to win mvp right now plus 700 you got patron homes right behind him at plus 800. i'm more in on josh i think buffalo bills are gonna be really good this season and i think the chiefs are gonna see some regression let me show my inherent raiders bias which i haven't done all show but i actually really like derek carr in this mvp conversation the odds are good on him and then the flip side of it is this offense is going to be i think a top five scoring offense in the nfl if you have a top five scoring offense in the nfl you go to the playoffs in this afc you've got a real shot at the mvp so maybe it's a little bit of an outlier play but a play nonetheless that i like it's been a curious strategy so far for our own adam schefter he'll join us in just a minute but uh obviously he went early with a bunch of wide receivers i decided he would do the running back thing later yeah which is very it's not typical to do that so i'm very interested to see why he did that yeah and here i was thinking that i knew what i'm talking about and i'm thinking well strange strategy but then when we asked mike clay mike clay says i love shefty strategy so you know it is interesting how everybody has a different approach and you do have to sort of weigh the you know bird in the hand versus the the amount of time it's going to take because chef he's picking third which means in the snake draft as you all know it takes so long to get back to them that's always the debate even for me where i'm like do i reach for somebody knowing that i don't want to wait for somebody to come back that's the hard part well i asked him before this when everyone's kind of getting food i'm like what's going to go on what are you going to do here and he was just like i'm going to surprise people and i was a little surprised yeah well chef he's good at surprising and also you always trust the information you can see his picks on the board behind us but jamar chase i thought that was a bit of a surprise to go chase that that high but then it goes devonte adams we haven't seen a lot of raiders go off the board because of the i think the the share in in opportunities to get much numbers there leonard fournette though was a little bit you know by the time he gets to that that pick on the running back i thought that was a little curious but when you look at it on paper it looks much better than it did in the moment as it was happening to me it does i i mean leonard fournette is my running back i don't know how excited i am about that but i do think that jaylen waddle one's really interesting because of tyree kill this might open jalen waddle up and he might be able to really get a lot of shares this year one of the more interesting conversations we'll try and get shefty later but aaron i think one we got adam adam uh what what was your strategy your strategy was a little different you went wide receiver were you worried about not being able to get a running back well my strategy was i wanted different players and my strategy was take the best player there not going to pass up jamar chase not going to pass up devonte adams i'm not going to pass up jaylen waddle wasn't planning to pick those players it just sort of happened that way and then you fill in the blanks again there's so many good wide receivers but wide receivers of point producers well chef you're a point producer for us brother we appreciate your time get back to work thank you always good stuff what from the time they moved on to damian woody that offensive lineup actually need a man i'm still trying to find alan robinson on my list i'll just go travis at the end dang it every year so much fun so far we are halfway home through our fantasy trap it is round seven we pick up the pace here with 45 seconds per pick damian woody back on the clock you started things off with jonathan taylor take it away from here oh the concert you had a whole break to think about i'm struggling mike i'm struggling you're not bro you know you're talking i'm struggling no you know who it is i see the winds blowing people are picking and starting to pick these quarterbacks i'm going to go i'm going on a limb i'm going jalen hurts that that eagles russian attack number one in the league elite offensive line obviously brought in aj brown another weapon on the outside to go with devonta smith dallas got it i think it's time i think he's going to be prom for a really big jump this year he led all quarterbacks from rushing yards and rushing touchdowns last season mike of course you love jalen hurts as an eagles fan who's up for your next pick yeah i think it's uh the fall has gone the fall is too far for dk metcalf i'm taking him here yeah exactly i know there's quarterback concerns here i totally get it and maybe that changes at some point there may be a pretty good quarterback out there that could become available you know we'll see if that works itself out but uh look dk metcalf has been a top 15 receiver the past two years and i am concerned to an extent about the quarterback but he is so good at football he's a playmaker and we actually saw that when geno smith was the quarterback last season so again at this point in the draft he's not even a starter for me right he's on my bench i will take this i'll take this chance tremendous value right there shifty you're up wait mina's emotional guy was going to look sad there is that why the camera zoomed i didn't want out take him thank you thank you i appreciate it i'm gonna fill in the last i know it doesn't matter you can pick as many at one position but it's nice to just round that your line up here and i'm gonna do that with dalton schultz and then i missed that on tight ends you are just daniel dob tonight with you i swear is highlighted and circled on my sheet and he comes back around to me well he's not coming back around and certainly so much opportunity there for dalton schultz because of all the cowboys past catcher injuries and departures this off season stefania you are not up yes you are up next my back you are up i am i'm right here right next adam i'm going to go with drake london really rarely does a rookie wide receiver make an immediate impact but i think he certainly can it's hard to argue with that one the eighth overall pick and chefty an injury on friday night is not considered serious for them not going to practice this week it sounds like i'm sure they're going to be careful with them in the preseason right but i would imagine when the regular season rolls around that drake london will be trotted out there that's right mina kimes back up next mina uh it's been a few minutes uh warren league champion for those that may have forgotten it from what i mentioned just a little while ago and you won from the 15th slot had an incredible season josh allen austin eckler all that well done yeah yeah as someone who rode emman ross st brown to that war room victory that you might have heard about just now for the first time if you didn't hear about it earlier i know the value of having a wide receiver on a bad team who gets the lion's share pun intended in that case of targets and for that reason i am going to go with bear's wide receiver darnell oh my gosh but yeah but to me it's just look at that wide receiver room it's obviously one of the thinner groups in the league we know justin field's greatest strength as a quarterback is throwing downfield darnell mooney has the speed you saw that connection on display a bit last season i am not entirely optimistic about this offense but i am optimistic about the prospect of him getting targets that's insane value to me for round seven so we go from darnell mooney to eric moody you're on the clock again so so so mina got me back because i was targeting darnell mooney but look at all these different receivers out there there's a lot of great receivers out there you got michael thomas you got rashad bateman that's who i'm going to go with with this pick you've got rashad bateman of baltimore ravens and so he's in a position to get a ton of targets in the buzz between bateman and lamar jackson the chemistry i'm like it's been well publicized it's there this guy is going to have a monster season guy who last year was limited by injury but did find the end or struggle to find the end zone i should say perhaps that changes this season daniel top you are up next pick 67. yeah so here's what's tough field i really didn't want to take a tight end here but i know that anita marks does not have a tight end yet and i'm worried about her potentially drafting one at the turn so i'm gonna take tj hawkinson here if you could let your hair down right now i would make you because you have never been spotted in the same place as everybody hawkinson has never happened no no but i love him honestly he's the last he's sort of that mendoza line for tight ends for me to feel comfortable with like i know that line mendoza all right pick number 68 go see you liz loza sorry liz yeah i've just gotten sniped three times in a row here i agree with you though uh hawkinson kind of being the barrier so i'm going to wait on the position and because mina my new colleague oh my god i'm doing a draft with mina kymes that's cool uh my new colleague uh took darnell mooney my of my chicago bears i am going to show tyler lockett of her seattle seahawks some respect because he is due i know the quarterback situation isn't great but this is a pristine route runner with a top six catch rate in at this point on my bench please give me tyler lockett i'll be honest with you liz it's really not that cool when you draft with mina because like six months later when the season's over you realize that your team wasn't as good as hers so mina biggest champion from this past season in the war room league just one more time let's go back out to vegas for the end of round two you almost hit ten mentions you're almost there she's getting a lot of love for her when again josh allen cooper cup jamar chase last year on my team uh we know who you got next so that's going to spoil it there in las vegas but i'm going gonna go you mention i heard eric moody say michael thomas's name and i know we haven't seen him in a long time but i think this new orleans saints passing attack i mean think about what they had last year to throw to there was no one there now it's michael thomas jarvis landry and chris olave and thomas has looked pretty good so far so i think jameis winston his ability to push the ball vertical down the field uh i like michael thomas to bounce back especially at what we are around six or seven right now i'll take michael thomas uh looks like anita is foreshadowing her next pick because she is in las vegas with a player who plays for the raiders that's right how great is this that like every player i coveted brought the t-shirt here to las vegas so yes i'm going with hunter renfro i think the world is sleeping on hunter renfro you guys know how much i love the combine i love going there i love talking to scouts and every scout has just sung his praises he is one of the best wide receivers against man man-to-man coverage and with devante adams now here in las vegas man the world is going to be his oyster nine touchdowns last season over 120 targets love me love me uh some hunter renfro so i'm going hunter renfro here for sure third and renfro the ankle breaking machine closes out to the proceedings in round seven which means we still have many many picks ahead five more rounds and still available some old faces and new places mario cooper he plays for the cleveland browns you may have heard that juju smith schuster he might be patrick mahomes number one wide receiver what kind of value is there in that base at this point of the draft i'd say other surprising picks here mike clay who we don't question often because of his expertise took tk metcalf the only question i have is you know we saw two rece two seahawks uh receivers go off the board is who's throwing the ball to him in the meantime we'll throw the ball to daniel dobb hanging out with us hey top do you get a check every year from hockinson when you take it because it's an annual tradition i should honestly to be honest like tj and i i feel like are so close at this point by the way i hear you talking about not being able to question my clay i question mike all the time and everything's fine with it you question my clay all that you want jason well that's fair well you have to let us know are you kind of picking based on your head and your heart or what should people do in that type of situation oh no i i definitely got to look at the numbers right like there are people that i want to be able to draft and there's nothing wrong finding players that you want to go out and be able to draft and make sure that you grab them for your fantasy team because this is a game about having fun the whole point is you want to have fun doing it but i'm trying not to reach on people even if it's from a team that i like there are so many players in the nfl that i get to watch so trying to find good value guys that fall down the board to me that i think are in great spots and so far i think i've got a really good team i'm pleased with where i'm at is there a player that you thought you were gonna get that so far has just been swiped out from under you i thought i was gonna get kyle pitts uh in the fourth i was really excited about that who else was there oh and the i was trying to get travis etn i was trying to get travis eating in the fifth i wasn't able to get him because stupid adam schefter took him so i had to go david montgomery instead so it's been tough man we've all been getting sniped this entire night this is a part of drafting you got to be able to pivot is there a big trash talker in the room be honest with us yeah mike honestly mike's really brought it he's upped his trash talk game in a big way i mean him and tyler are going back and forth anita marks who is up on the clock right now with yet another wardrobe change perhaps showing your cards of course i am and again another player that i comment that i have the t-shirt and some i didn't i mean guys i didn't travel with my entire closet so um here's that okay collecting over here but um in all seriousness because of where i'm drafting i know i've got to take a tight end and so there's two on the board that i really like and that's dallas goddard and of course zach hurts i'm taking zack ertz for a number of reasons by the way tyler i know you don't want to hear this but zack ertz without deandre hopkins had more targets per route than guess who travis kelsey exactly so i love zachary's especially the first six games as we know d'andre hopkins is suspended kirk isn't there um i think he's going to have a monster target share each and every week and the chemistry we saw really blossom and develop last season with murray so i'm going zach hurts here okay full gym how do you follow that one up yeah this is the first time i've had two or three names on my board that i i really don't know who i want but i'm just gonna trust it i have juju smith-schuster as the highest rated wide receiver left on my board so now i have the wide receiver one and the wide receiver two attached to patrick mahomes and his arm with no tyreek hill to work with we have seen juju put up 1400 yard seasons in the nfl and now he has a quarterback who will allow him to access those stats again we know they'll throw the rock and as long as juju and kelsey stay healthy i think they will be the two that take up the lion's share of air yard share and target share from patrick mahomes this season so i like having two pass catchers tied to patrick holmes even though josh allen is still my qb liz loza coming to you next uh you know i'm looking at my squad and it's kind of boring like there's a lot of safe plays a lot of smart plays but there's not much upside and field i know that you preach upside and so i'm gonna go with elijah moore because i love him i'm not worried about zach wilson maybe not being their week one because joe flacco will be ready for a revenge game against the baltimore ravens and elijah moore has proven that he is quarterback proof from weeks 8 to 11. four touchdowns and four fantasy relevant performances regardless of the quarterback okay sometimes boring is good and sometimes spicing things up is also good daniel you're up next to pick number 74. yeah i really feel like i need a running back here and i was thinking about targeting aj dillon but then i realized he went six rounds ago thank you daniel yeah so have you seen the man's quad i'm sorry i'm sorry tyler i think i think i'm gonna go after devin singletary here right i want another running back and i like the idea of being able to grab somebody in an elite offense devin singletary was absolutely fantastic down this stretch last year yes i know they drafted james cook he's going to be heavily involved but anytime that i can get a running back that i feel like is in an elite offense he's someone that i could look at as a a rb2 or a flex play on those bye weeks i like devin singletary here in the eighth okay there you have it devin singletary eric moody you're up next yeah i'm torn here you know i was thinking you know should i go quarterback or you know should i go another position wide receiver but in an effort to stay balanced uh i think with this pick i'm going to go with uh kareem hunt like him quite a bit you know the you know the i would say the running back duo in cleveland you know with kareem hunt nick chubb they're going to be actively involved and so i like him quite a bit so he's a great target for my team as an rb three i was this this close to taking kareem hunt i felt like number 76 is up to meenakim samina who are you taking here i'm gonna go with a continuation of a theme and take the best wide receiver in a thin group that is amari cooper in cleveland i don't know if you guys have looked at that death chart lately but mark cooper is going to catch a lot of football it doesn't matter who's throwing into him um it is a very very thin group and uh going to be jacobi preset for at least six games possibly more don't care i think amari cooper will produce in this offense regardless purely because of the players around them yeah around a major value there for mark cooper back-to-back picks that i love first starting on mooney and now amari cooper from mina stefania who do you got here at pick number 77. do you love any of my picks field i mean pretty much all of them okay okay just checking um we'll see if you love this one i'm going to go with adam thielen i feel like people i love you know people have forgotten about him in minnesota offense i get it he's not the big star now he's the number two guy but and last year it kind of faded out after he had that ankle injury i don't think he played a complete game after week 12 but he had 10 touchdowns still to start the season so it's not like his skill set has completely dissolved and i think you can get good value and look he's on my bench i mean adam thielen was not a bench-wide receiver just a couple seasons ago he is so good and just finds a way into the end zone every single season in this new and improved vikings offense shefty you are up next pick number 78 yeah i know that this player told people not to pick him [Laughter] i already like sanders the value is there again and he is due in mike clay's estimation for positive touchdown regression so we're going to take miles sanders i'm in our backfield and we'll ride with mile sanders in a year where i think the philadelphia eagles will be pretty good behind a very strong offensive line mike second straight round that someone has taken an eagle right before your pick you're on the clock and i'm going to take an eagle wow dallas goddard we've got to fill the tight end slot here there's a lot of talented other positions i don't feel like i'm forced to go that direction because there are a couple decent names in this tier but i feel really good about dallas goddard in this offense you look at nine games last season without zach hurts he had a 26 target share that was way above a player like travis kelsey and he was also six in fantasy points during that span so really happy here with dallas goddard there you have it dallas goddard goes to mike clay damian woody we're gonna bring it home here round eight final pick who are you taking man this is tough a lot of quarterbacks yeah uh i'm going brandon iu all right i like the way you've made eye contact with me because you know i love that picture yes i'm going brandon yeah you got i just you know when it comes to kyle shanahan i think trey i think that offense is going to be super dynamic and uh brandon iuke is a guy that man you always have to catch big catches i like his explosiveness in the passing game yeah i'm going well yeah he's fierce with the football in his hands that much is for sure you know it's only 10 teams so quarterbacks sometimes can last a little while longer and still find incredible value and coming up tom brady ever be drafted he had to wait until pick 199 in the real nfl draft will be off the board before then kyla murray still available he was awesome to the first half of last bell but it has been interesting because we did see that little run on quarterbacks now everything's a little quiet another run here on wide receivers looks like a lot of people are going for depth at some point so i'm not surprised i am tyler takes juju smith schuster maybe we've been sleeping on that one a little bit because obviously he walks right into a great opportunity with patrick mahomes yeah absolutely i mean he does because obviously tyreek hill left and things like that so i wasn't a fan a huge fan of him i should say when he was on the steelers but overall it is a really good pick but we're kind of getting into those rounds where it's a little bit of a lull like you've got to just take these on the board type deal so it's gonna be interesting the next couple of rounds yeah amari cooper made a kind of pick and obviously mina a champion at this but you know that comes back to a quarterback conversation too tough for me to figure out where to value somebody like amari when we don't know exactly what we have now we do know we have stephanie bell hanging out with us right now stefania doing great work by the way so far so good have you been saying that to everybody no no no we don't just ask tyler it's been a little contentious here uh but has there been a player that you really had your eye on that somebody sniped out from under you you know i was gonna take nick chubb i was really looking at him and it wasn't the thing is we're lucky because we're hitting some really good value picks in that neighborhood but nick chubb was a player i was planning on i'll tell you why for the people who might be thinking about nick chubb in her draft i had the pleasure of speaking with jonathan taylor you might have heard of him one of the best running backs in the nfl and i asked him who he admired at the running back position and he said he looks for players who are really strong in their lower body because that's what you need to be able to plow through the tackles and he talked about nick chubb and had high praise for him so that got my attention and that's why i was seeking him out so you talk about a player that you weren't able to grab but as we head into round nine are there a couple that you already have your eye on yes but we won't tell the others who are drafting with me because i want to make sure i get them and one of them is damien pierce who is he might be way down in the rankings because he's a rookies with the houston texans but i was down at texans camp and the chatter is all about damien pierce there's not really much ahead of him and rex burkett is there but he's an aging running back damien pierce is quick nico collins called him shifty and they plan on getting him the ball a lot he's got a pathway to be a rb1 and he's got a lot of talent they're very excited about him so i want to get damien pierce i can hide him on my bench until he evolves into that rb1 and then i'll have a steal stefania you are the silent assassin at the about a quarterback but we've talked about this a lot a lot on the podcast just because i need one at this point i have 12 that i like i don't feel like i have to force it i can still wait a while and get a guy later that's a value so uh i'm going to stick with a wide receiver i have a lot of depth at this position i i'm to liz's point from earlier time to think about some upside right i'm going cadarius tony of the neighborhood potential potentially their number one super productive last season i'm expecting a year to break out okay gadarius tony so much ability with the football in his hands especially in the open field jeffy back on the clock at pick number 83 well i went last round with a philadelphia eagle okay and i think i'm going to go back to the well and go with another philadelphia eagle devonte smith [Music] potential second year breakout this guy was the best college receiver we have seen in terms of production in a long time we won the heisman trophy and and and i wanted to reunite devonte smith and jaylen wilder to get the most out of each other i love it you're motivating was trying to them being on the same team no question about it stefania you are up next yeah i thought adam was trying to get a good grade from mike drafting all these eagles um i'm going to go ahead and do the quarterback thing now and i'm going to unite a quarterback with his running back i'm gonna go with dr prescott okay there you have it dak prescott and a guy who has a high floor every year in fantasy stefania even if he's not really much of a runner based off what we saw last year well and last year he was coming off a fractured ankle so i didn't expect him to run a ton at the beginning but he's running a lot more now and i think the rushing yards are going to come back up for deck this year we go back to meenakim's pick number 85 overall all right i'm gonna take this quarterback because like him i do my homework and uh since coming into the nfl second in rushing yards and touchdowns you guys know who it is kyla murray step right up join team times wow so good only mina can weave in the subtle jab like you just did right there four hours of prep for me leading into the draft tonight eric moody you are up so i am up i'm i'm struggling here you know i'm like should i do the quarterback thing should i not should i continue to build out my roster so i think i am going to continue to build out the roster so i'm going to go running back here tony pollard you know dallas cowboys and so i know i'm very bullish on zeke too by the way uh but tony pollard will still continue to be involved and i'll look at it this way if something does happen to zeke if he does miss significant time i have on my roster a potential league winner to crush all of you ah wow the cowboy's best back there how about that wow michael oh surrounding tony paul we're your friends number 87 daniel top you are on the clock yeah this one's tough for me because i feel like i'm at a spot where i don't want any of the running backs that are here i can wait on on quarterback in all honesty because everybody on this side of the draft rs he has a quarterback so i can wait for the turn i'm going between christian kirk and alan lazard okay and i think i'm gonna fall with alan lazard simply because of the fact that i want the wide receiver one and an aaron rodgers led offense though i expect more to happen with trevor lawrence taking the next steps there i just think that i like that offense a little bit more so give me him give me him on a day in which aaron rodgers kind of called out some of the young receivers and the packers he heaped praise on alan lazard a steady eddie for that offense before it gets you in your pick at 88 there is just one nfl team that through nearly nine rounds has not had a single player drafted in this here draft anybody can name the team free pizza from the cafeteria on me liz who are you taking here pick number 88 i think i might be able to get some free pizza because i'm going with from andre stevenson [Music] i had no idea you're doing that well it's we're mind-melding look at this jj and aaron rodgers here um i love that he has improved his past catching work especially with the news that james white obviously is uh retiring and in the two weeks in which damien harris did not play ramondre stevenson scored two touchdowns each week four touchdowns in two weeks when harris was out uh harris obviously struggled with some uh soft tissue stuff so i like the i like the back up so much talent for andre stevenson was the patriots lead back unto himself he'd be inside our top 15 probably every single week back out to vegas for tyler and anita to bring things home in round nine yeah i know a few of you out there based on my draft may think i'm on some kind of performance enhancing drugs despite a six game suspension to start the year once he comes back i can plug in as a wide receiver one and that is nuke deandre hopkins i'm gonna take him stash him for those first six weeks but when he is back we know kyler murray loves throwing the ball to deandre hopkins i i can't be the only one who thought he was going to say ayahuasca there right i thought you were going with a psychedelic trip i haven't been down to uh south america with a shaman with aaron rodgers yet in my life despite what my despite what my draft may uh indicate arnina you're back up and with the what round are we in i don't know round nine round nine i'm taking james cook in yes i actually have a james cook he's got merch wow i don't know how she does it i don't know how she does it wow all right um for a lot of reasons i don't think people realize that this is hands down uh the best pass-catching running back that was drafted this season and what happened last year the biggest weakness for the bills was their backfield right they even tried to get madrida involved and nobody could do it i really believe that james cook is gonna have a monster year especially in the passing attack with uh this dude's quarterback josh allen okay there you have it and by the way if you're wondering to yourself how many times has anita mark changed her shirt tonight we're going to tell you the answer now we went from to start things off deandre swift she just keeps going oh my god round 10 comes up next [Music] she's aaron dolan i'm jason fitz and i'm very confused like i i i had a text tyler folger and ask how many does she have on hand right now he said 30. so that's the number i know it's 30. i feel like it's got to be more how is that even possible well and and that you just saw the video like she's layering them too like it better be cold in that studio because i'd be like schvitzing like putting in a picnic like there'd be like just all sorts of water just going through trying to find it real quick and knowing that it's not going to be taken maybe she has like one of those like t-shirt machine things the cricket thing is she's like over there designing putting the logos on i mean she's having a killer jab but this just feels like it's a lot a lot of work it's it's like a magician it's very confusing i'm not sure how it's going down but it is and that studio is like it's on the strip in vegas it's not like it's an easy location to just bring in 30 extra shirts when you're walking through the casino with 30 shirts people might be a little confused yeah i mean and not and you're parking you're walking from your car you're making two trips like i really wish we had a needle later because i'm i'm wildly confused anything you could pack in your bag she brought 30 shirts i mean that is that is spectacular work by her eric moody joining us now eric moody how many shirts did you bring today well i i think i only brought one i'm just shocked that there's she has so many shirts for all the various players and i must admit i am very impressed with the james cook shirt considering he's a rookie i'll just i'll leave it at that yeah i i think she's she's pulling over on us by the way i was impressed that you got superstar darren waller as a lifelong die hard raiders fan in your draft has there been a guy that you found yourself drafting that you said oh my god i can't believe he's still on the board yeah i think i think darren waller is one such player i was surprised with uh kareem hunt that's another one you know he's a solid you know flex option rb3 that i think gets often overlooked in drafts i know those are two picks uh that came to mind and um i'm still kind of thinking about you know quarterback so i may grab a quarterback in this next round i know it's a couple of quarterbacks that available late that i really like so that's kind of where my head's at right now and eric we are almost over two hours into this draft so how are you stacking up against the competition you feeling good at this point no i do feel really really good at this point i'm trying to build a very balanced team that has a lot of flexibility you know considering if i have an injury or if a player underperforms and whenever i draft i typically use positional tiers you know that are based on you know my projections rankings and really just players that i like and i ultimately make my decisions based on how the others are drafting around me i do that in all my drafts this one here on the espn fantasy football marathon is no different you are doing great work i hope you have a little bowl of hard candies you can throw at woody keep it up thanks for hanging out with us all right not a problem at all all right they're doing great work there obviously uh we we're gonna keep you updated on everything that goes we've still got a bunch of big name quarterbacks that aren't that aren't anita you're back on the board it's round 10. yeah and for the first time i do not have a shirt for this player i will say it's on order it just hasn't arrived yet by the so i will have it for the season and that's damian pierce running back forward to houston texans and for a big reason why like who else is there in that backfield uh you know he's really gonna get in my opinion uh the bulk of the carries a lot of volume and a lot of opportunity to draft him here at this point in the draft where he very well could be uh put up rb1 numbers i'm sorry boo i know you wanted him yeah i that was the guy that was on my my board top because of his ability to you always see a rookie running back kind of emerge in the middle of the season i thought he's gonna be that guy and i do need running back i don't love this pic but i hope this guy can replicate what he did last year cordero patterson in atlanta thank you vince good pick that offense is not that bad i got the mike clay seal of approval that is happening i can't believe it it only took 10 rounds mike to get an applause from you there but uh he can catch the ball obviously out of the backfield i know they drafted that kid out of byu and the offense may not be great but he's too talented and i need a running back so i'll go patterson and tyler to be kind that if he gets more passing game work it could actually be a good thing for his fantasy value you could find in the end zone as a runner last year if he gets more passing game usage all of a sudden cpap could be a massive value in round ten liz loza back on the clock how about russell gage i mean this is someone that tom brady actively recruited to the tampa bay buccaneers chris godwin yes going to return sooner than we anticipated but i love gage as a nice short to intermediate passing option for tom brady as he ages so i like that pick right there a little bit floor but still nice in terms of ppr for all the money 10 million bucks per year daniel you are up next yeah i got a real quick question for eric moody is there a quarterback on this list that still is potentially rb1 because i'm telling you oh captain my captain russell wilson here i come baby i'm telling you qb one potential i've heard it from eric moody [Music] bring them to my team espn executives had their heart stopped there for a second got up on the table but it was a worthwhile moment eric moody sorry about that daniel dobb takes russell hey daniel what's it like catching a touchdown from russell wilson honestly it's it's one of those things that you just can't really put into words because it's sort of like if i were on ayahuasca i don't know is that what it was yes yeah well i don't know all right you mean you're you're not okay i'm speechless i'm i'm speechless here i thought i was going to be dancing like star-lord and guardians of the galaxy at the beginning the you know come and get your love and you know doing the dance but you know you you crushed me here man i knew approached me i'm sorry and you you're gonna do that because i know that liz you know she had uh patrick mahomes i know she's not taking a quarterback and then you just have to do it but as always my friend i i always have a contingency plan so it is time for my team to take a quarterback and you know what i'm gonna go kind of slightly against the grain you know we got tom grade brady excuse me on the board we've got aaron rodgers matthew stafford but i'm actually going to go with trey lance here so i mean okay yeah i'm going to go with treylan so i love the upside uh he's improved as a passer the rushing ability league winning potential so i'm gonna use him as a consolation prize while i wipe away my tears since you took russell wilson 24 rushing attempts and two starts last year for trey lands meenakim's back up three picks left we got okay so i'm in the high upside zone at this point where you're willing to just kind of take bets on players who could impress i i'm going to go with chris o'lave the rookie yeah you talked about following the money field i'm gonna follow the draft picks because holy smokes did the saints give up a lot of draft capital to go and get this guy and it's easy to see why he threatens that all three levels he can threaten deep by the way which is significant with jameis winston coming back he really is the only wide receiver i think of that starting group who does threaten deep obviously michael thomas coming back is meaningful but i just think chris olave adds an element to this offense that is different and i think he's really pro ready just such a polished route runner i love him and i love him on my team yeah long term i think that jameson williams will be the best rookie wide receiver in this year's class but in terms of the guys are going to be available right away i thought it was chris olavey as wide receiver one coming out of ohio state and it felt like stefania mina may have just sniped you there she totally got me back for everything mina you got me you hurt me in the heart it was it was the seahawks joker i know yeah i know that was brutal first anita did it with damian paris that was my next pick crystal lava was my pick after that so here i am feeling very much like everybody can relate to what you feel like in the draft at this point when people are just sniping your picks left and right so i had to scramble here and i had this guy targeted not not originally but based on what i got when i was in miami and just watching him chase edmonds i know it's a backfield that's a little bit crowded but chase edmonds has been impressing one of the comments mike mcdaniel made was that he understood the receivers and blocking assignments they loved that that was a big deal in san francisco and the players who did that got a lot of run i think chase edmonds is going to get the bulk of the workload even if it has to be a time share so good in the passing game and good enough that when he gets the ball in open space he's going to make you miss he's going to get plenty of yards after the catch chef do you are up next year pick number 98. well we're at 98 and there's a guy who was just sitting there again uh i like trey lance queued up but we're just going to go with clyde edwards lair here i mean i got no problem taking them that i mean at this point you know at this point tenth round like it's too easy to take him just it's just such an interesting player this year because the chiefs have made other investments in the running back spot he has not been the receiver he was at lsu but the hope would be that a's talented b he's healthy and c the chiefs do not have tyree kill anymore so perhaps they're a bit more run heavy at least near the goal line compared to where they were in previous years mike clay who's up next yeah that's uh who i was going to take great draft adam gary pick right there you're nailing it my friend uh but i'm gonna go with the next running back on our list here damien harris this guy scored 15 touchdowns last season and he's averaging 4.8 yards for carrie in his career his backup was already drafted i understand where andre is going to play a big role in the passing game so i understand it to an extent but damian harris still their lead rusher still our top goal linebacker he's been very effective love this value over over 15 touchdown over 14 touchdowns though doesn't that make him my prime candidate for regression i'll take 13. i'll take 12. progress all the way to 13. okay yeah my clay takes the second patriot of the night so far damian woody pick number 100 last one of round 10. you know i'm going to go with pat friarmuth oh oh i'm pat friarmuth here uh listen i i understand that quarterback situation it's a little dicey in pittsburgh yeah but i know that pat friarmuth was had 151 fantasy points 10 most as far as rookie tight ends at all time and that's what eric ebron was starting ahead of him initially i think he's going to have a bigger workload um especially when you get down in the red zone like that a lot good sleeper tight end this year uh you played your college ball in the great state of massachusetts and some of your pro ball as well pat friedmouth from the great state of massachusetts as well massive fantasy value as far as i'm concerned hey coming up bunch of rookie wideouts are still available that guy garrett wilson he was drafted 10th overall by the jets still on the board jamison williams won't be available in week one but that guy can flat out fly plus treylen burks a.j brown is gone someone's got to catch passes right could it be the former arkansas standout we're coming up with rounds 11 and 12. [Music] aaron dolan jason fitz getting caught up during the breaks and uh look i think it is kind of funny we asked earlier uh we asked stefania who she had her eye on and she gave us a little bit of a damien pierce sort of nugget and then what do you know bam right away anita marks is that sure so i guess you know hopefully anita wasn't listening but you know you could see a lot of people had that thought yeah no they definitely did and i think she made a lot of great points but again they didn't they weren't able to hear each other so anita was also thinking it yeah well and we've got trey lance going here uh eric moody took him for the 49ers you and i have been discussing this all night and trying to figure out what he looks like a quarterback i think it's just a tremendous yeah mike could yeah i agree there's a lot of question mark still obviously jimmy g is not the answer for them but he he would have won regular season games but he would have won the super bowl so that's the issue i think well we all know qb won around here's field yates field hanging out with us now field my friend a little curious at the quarterback position woody double dips what was your reaction well first of all i have a rule of life that i follow which is when you're sitting next to a former nfl offensive lineman who weighs twice as much as you you don't pick apart their picks no matter whether you agree with them or not so i decided that no matter how i felt about the pick i would keep it to myself uh i'm actually to be honest with you i think it's fine we only have 12 rounds so yes you could have flushed out your bench a little bit more but joe burrow could absolutely smash this season and if he does maybe damian could parlay that into a trade down the line all right so maybe you don't want to talk a lot of smack on him but is there anybody that stands out besides tyler fall jump that might be in a rocky spot tonight you know once again aaron i can tell that my clay fails to prepare the guy hasn't provided one insightful bit of analysis so far it's clear he doesn't study the numbers he strikes me as one of those people that just flies by the seat of his pants throughout his life no more seriously to be honest with you i'm not sure that anybody's drafted stood out in a particularly negative way i think it's one of the beauties of a 10-team league is that there's so much value to be had it's the end of round 10 just now we have guys flying off the board who scored 15 touchdowns last season like damian harris and clyde edwards de lair who might be really good for the kansas city chiefs so so far pretty good job i'm trying to be diplomatic if you guys couldn't tell you're doing a spectacular job hosting do you wish you were drafting a team um you know what i wish i were part of your guy's show for the entirety of it if i'm being entirely honest i don't want to be a third wheel too frequently but i would have taken that duty uh with great honor tonight uh you're not wearing enough neon today on blue keep me keep doing the great work get back to work my friend we appreciate it do it all right guys have a great show not just during the remember the stat off the top of my head over the past decade all of the receipt all of the top 10 picks at wide receiver in their rookie season who played were crossing off kevin white he was hurt in play uh of the 13 nine were top 30 receivers the only ones who were not were injured they missed three plus games so if they play they're good so with that being said i'm going gary wilson i have a question when mike clay says like if i can remember off the top of my head is that just a fancy way of you saying like i've got better stats than you do let me tell you one of my cool ones you know i've just said that one so many times that i was just there it was okay just stuck inside i was concerning him he put me on the spot i was concerned for a second but we got it in between punter projections and you know jaguar special teams depth charts mike clay has that stat available you're up again oh i am yeah okay i will take i was thinking about i was thinking about garrett wilson you took him i will take christian kirk uh four years 72 million dollars how about that how about that for a stack well-paid jacksonville number one receiver they have a nice schedule this year i expect trevor lawrence to make a big leap i don't know if he's going to go in this draft but lawrence this guy i think could break out good sleeper this year yeah a really talented player even though he has never had a thousand receiving yards in a season chef you're up well the news this evening is that the seahawks rookie running back kenneth walker iii has a hernia of some sport some sort so i'm told it's not a sports hernia but as stefania has pointed out running backs and hernias are not a good combination now because that's the case we'll go with the counterpart there in the seahawks backfield rashad any yeah and take him here thinking that maybe he's got a chance to be the workhorse there coming off the big season he had last year he got a little bit banged up recently but he is trending in the right direction health-wise and he was so good down the stretch the best running back in terms of rushing yards for the final five weeks of last year stefania back on the clock crushing this draft like a grape who you taking next well hey tyler are you paying attention because i'm gonna take robert woods yes happened last year with stefania yeah you know robert woods no longer with the rams but out with the titans coming off an acl injury but remember he had it pretty early he had the ability to work we won the best medical staffs in the country during all of his rehab titans obviously felt comfortable bringing him over he's going to be the number one target there and look where i'm getting him like the value is there by the way the titans can't afford you look at their roster right now they need robert woods in a hurry because if he's not available early on in the season who's catching passes trailing burke's obviously a first round pick he'll get some work but they need robert woods in a hurry i love that player i love that pick stefania minnie climbs you're up next and i wanted robert woods thank you yes snaked me oh boy okay what to do what to do what to do no that's too weird all right i'll go with i'm gonna go with james robinson here um you know i'm a little bit thin at running back i did watch like the rest of you travis etienne touched the ball approximately 500 times in the jaguars first preseason game but he is coming off a major injury even with him healthy james robinson is going to get touches especially near the goal line if travis etienne god forbid does suffer any other kind of injury uh robinson is running back one so it feels like a safe insurance pick for what an underrated player he has been since going undrafted just a couple of years ago eric mooney back on the clock he got two picks left make him count yeah yeah back on the clock so uh number of players i'm looking at uh you know melvin gordon's there uh skye moore is there that's who i'm going with going with sky more here you're in the double-digit rounds it's really all about looking for upside and you look at the opportunity in kansas city my memory serves me right i'll try to pull a mike clay i remember a stat i believe they have 360 available targets in kansas city then when you look at mahomes for where he leads the league over the last two seasons in targeting his slot receivers and if they can just move skye moore to the slot where i know he played a lot of slot in college like he's someone who could greatly exceed expectations good things good things come to those who play with patrick mahomes daniel dopp i don't believe ever signed a contract with the chiefs but there was temptation on both sides to accomplish that we talked about it after that after i had that weekend with russell wilson where i caught a couple passes there were a couple things now all right stop i'll tell you what eric i hate to do this but you mentioned skye moore and then you also mentioned melvin gordon and that's where i'm going to go is melvin gordon because why not made i'm talking about wow he is my rb4 on this team if anything happens to javonte williams i have an incredible running back under my disposal and at the same time this workload split is something that none of us really know about i think the value of melvin speed 90th percentile burst as well i like that i like the offense obviously he's attached today just 10 spots apart in a 10-team league for these two chiefs running backs that's how things are jump at one i i'd like skye moore's pick or this pick of sky more there but i already have two chiefs i'm buying into the george pickens hype he was my favorite receiver coming out of the draft and the pittsburgh steelers if you haven't heard have done a pretty good job of identifying wide receiver talent over the years and i think pickens is already establishing himself as a dog next to deante johnson maybe even the number two because chase claypool's kind of fallen off a little bit i think picking's in line for a big rookie season guys x-rays confirmed he's got some dog in him anita you're up next yeah give me joshua palmer wide receiver for the last one again right there dang it anita i'm sorry do you want to do you want a t-shirt i can give you a t-shirt [Music] text me or text me your address beaver um so uh but hey in all seriousness the chargers as we know you know i i reached for justin herbert again i reached because i don't like to draft uh quarterbacks until the later rounds but i just think that this offense is going to be so explosive and god forbid uh keenan allen or mike williams gets injured man palmer steps up as that number two wide receiver and to get him here really explosive an insurance policy at wide receiver if you will we are just about 90 000 signups away from 2 million for the evening less than half an hour left in our fantasy football marathon be a part of the solution not the problem draft a team right now [Music] dole and jason fitz they are crushing it in studio but we're getting that depth period right so there was a big argument about some of the players that everybody seemed to have their eye on robert woods the wide receiver that goes to the titans stefania picks yeah like the whole room got kind of bummed by that one uh but somebody that the titans could have a great shot actually meenakim is joining us now and we'll go straight to mina mina uh so far you've you've been sniped several times what snipe is the one that stands out to you where the one you're just angry about still it was the last one um getting robert woods taken out from under me because i didn't have a plan b no that's that's purely it i did want him but it was more so that i didn't really know what i was gonna do if i didn't get him amina you won it all last season so how are you feeling right now with the roster that you have in hand uh you know feeling pretty good looking at it right now i i really like my running backs i've got aaron jones and james connor and then josh jacobs in the flex i think that's a really nice trio you know now it's kind of the opportunity to take some shots at some higher upside players i thought chris olave where i got him later on was uh i think that's a player with a ton of potential with james winston playing quarterback and then with darnell mooney and marie cooper i went with teams where the wide receiver depth charts are just not great so even if those offenses aren't prolific and i handily don't expect either of them to be they are to me the unquestioned wide receiver one in both of those teams any concern about the quarterback position and how it impacts the production for somebody like amari you know not really i i mentioned this during our show but last year i won with eamon ross saint brown jared goff not a great quarterback but eamonn ross saint brown really was a target monster and i think at a certain point if you can identify a wide receiver who's just going to get all of the targets it really doesn't matter who's playing quarterback that's an amazing point is there anybody that you're kind of keeping an eye on heading forward um on my team or just generally generally because we're almost wrapping things up here like to pick to pick yes yeah well there's some i mean i kind of don't want to tell you guys who i'm going to pick because i think my colleagues are listening in so that's fair all right fair point great job not really close to the best not only have you done a great job with your team but the the homework line was an all-star line and an all-star moment from this so uh great work keep kicking everybody's butt my friend thanks for everything we're hearing out of camp is that he has been turning heads he's been really explosive and i think he's gonna get a really nice target share and he's so uber athletic i think he really shines this season so i'm going ron dale moore a wide receiver for the arizona cardinals love it rondelle moore goes off the board pick number 111 tyler your final pick and for those that have missed it none of your picks have been dull well i don't think this one's going to be dull either i went with a youngster who's got that dog in him and george pickens with my last pick i'm going to go with an old head who i still think has some dog and some gas left in them and that's julio jones he's now catching passes from tom brady baby yeah how many games is he gonna play this season over under 10. we've got a gambling show in five minutes oh i hope over i'm gonna bet on that because if he does play more than 10 you saw what tom brady did with antonio brown rob gronkowski chris godwin and mike evans last year i think julio if he stays healthy and that's the big caveat we'll have a big season catching passes from a guy like tom brady big upgrade over tannehill and the titans offense yeah the box just have so many wide receivers mike evans and chris goblin and russell gage and julio jones and the list goes on and on and on liz loza back to you for your final pick up the draft well it has to be a tight end because i've waited this long yeah you have done so far no i don't and we know that tight ends generally break out years two to three i'm hoping that is true for some personal reasons for cole commett yeah homegrown talent out of arlington heights illinois hopefully by the way soldier field moving to the old arlington racetrack i'm sure shafty could illuminate that for us a little bit later regardless interesting fun fact comet had top 12 receptions and yards but it was the goose egg in the end zone that really did them in in terms of fantasy production no jimmy graham there this year so hopefully that number can reach four to six i could see that happening that much for sure and i'm talking about both the bears moving to arlington heights and kolkamet having four to six touchdowns this year daniel you're up next you know field what daniel come on this is tough there's a lot of wide receivers there's so many wide receivers in this league is what the problem is i think i'm with this understanding we're not at the end i'm gonna go with michael galla give me somebody no i didn't i can put him on the ir list i can wait for him to come back i already have really good wide receivers and he's on an elite offense i mean you know in the 12th round listen you don't have to worry about him being available for week one he bet be available in week six and that'd be okay for you because it's not gonna start until then for you anyways yep eric moody you're up yeah i think it's important when you get to these double digit rounds you know you want to obviously target players that have league winning upside but also i think it's important not to miss out on players that can help your team so my pick uh for this round will be uh jd mckissick okay yeah and so the commanders you know they they brought him back you know for a reason i know a lot of people like wait he's coming back i'm like yeah he is and so i think what's interesting you look at the commanders over the last two seasons they lead the league in running back targets and the kizik will play a role in that backfield and he's he's a great option in this league he's my uh what running back uh five so he's my fifth running back and in a ppr format can't pass that up he got real money to return to washington after spurning the bills and free agency last pick here for meena kimes who for those that are unfamiliar won the war room league last year with the dominating finish to the season she also picked 15th out of 16. thank you so much for mentioning that um i'm gonna wild out here he's 391 on the espion rankings yes but number one in my heart it's romeo yeah i'm drinking the training camp kool-aid i guess psychedelic tea i mean did you guys see him in that first preseason game he looks amazing and look if aaron rodgers is praising a rookie wide receiver in that room by the way i'm going to listen to him it's a low risk high reward choice and i feel like it might steal the championship remember i'm going to adjust my rankings i need to get him out of the 300s at least can we at least get him into the 200 maybe even like the low one like 50s or something like that mike like we work on nope we're hiding them down there okay there it is he's being stashed uh stefania bell who has been dominating the draft she always does she is back up mark mark andrews one of your first picks who was your last my last pick looking for a guy with some upside guy i believe will uh surprise some people this year in his second year in the league nico collins houston uh playing across from brandon cooks he and davis mills come into the league together they spent the whole off season together working and with john metchi unfortunately out for the year and recovering that that's not going to be a threat um this year for nico collins he's really got some room for growth they love him down there and why not last round texans are cooking they're up to something down there in houston davis mills by the way impressive player last year considering the circumstances we are down to our final three picks in the draft adam schefter pick number 118 is yours didn't mike clay and damian do woody spell out the merits of a top wide receiver yeah so if we're going to go this late and we're going to go for upside why not take a shot on trail and burke's there we go not right like mixed reports but the guy is somebody that they picked to replace aj brown we'll take a flyer on trail and burst and see how he works out incredible after the catch in college not necessarily the burner he's got really good size though and your point jeffy someone's got to catch passes and aj brown and julio jones even though he wasn't very good he is also gone from tennessee we're down to the final two picks mike clay is champing at the bit for the opportunity to make this selection yeah so i'm the only team without a quarterback and this is probably the best evidence to wait at quarterback right we talked about that a little earlier in the draft i'm staring at tom brady and aaron rodgers both were top five fantasy quarterbacks last season aaron rodgers is the two-time reigning mvp never finishes lower than nine tom brady was had the second most past attempts in nfl history last season i don't do somebody want to pick for me i mean i'll take either one they're both great options yeah brady brady's higher in the rankings i'll take him but fine with either one yep so again this is the reason why you can afford to wait on a quarterback especially in a 10-team league because might be 14 good options at least in my book final pick is our guy damian woody who started things off with jonathan taylor who is the final piece of the puzzle i'm gonna go erv smith i'm going there i i i think tyler conklin moved on kyle rudolph i think there's a lot of opportunity for irv smith and that in that kevin o'connell offense at the tight end spot so why not got a hand injury right now but expect it to be available for week one of the regular season irf smith the final pick mr umbrella but very relevant as far as we are concerned here on espn and the fantasy team 75 000 signups away from 2 million coming up next we're dishing out some draft grades professor clay is on the clock [Music] aaron dolan jason fitz getting you caught up on everything you need to know in the breaks and aaron i mean you just saw it at the end mike clay kind of throwing the mic drop moment where he says hey i can still get tom brady this late with all the stats to back up why that's a great pick it reminds us that strategy matters in this it does and he also just kind of let left it up to everybody else what do you guys think and someone yelled out brady was like fine brady out of the two i would have picked brady as well i think it's it's interesting to watch the best of the best and the pros that do this all the time still sort of succumb to the wave of the moment because that's one of the hardest things whether you're betting or whether you're playing fantasy like sometimes you just have to live in a bit of a bubble right and be like i'm so insightful to be able to see this firsthand and really watch those reactions nothing's nothing's recorded so well one of the best reactions we got today came from the great daniel dopp who joins us again most important question you jump up on a table had you tested the wheels on it did we know that it wasn't going to move no no i had no idea i was really nervous actually when i did it which is probably not the right thing to say i i pushed it a little bit to see if the wheels were locked at least so i tried to do a safe box jump on there but i'll tell you what when you get a guy like russell wilson that late you got to celebrate however you can i mean you just you you got to let it out it's that's it and we're looking right now on youtube there's actually a poll that went out for who has the best roster so far so your name was one stefania mina kimes obviously and tyler was on this you are winning 37 of people say you have the best roster what do you think of that i think there are 37 of people out there that are very smart that's what i think about that i love the round the draft that i've been able to do i think i found really good value i tried really hard not to be able to force things let people come to me and from that standpoint this is the part of drafting that's so much fun it's so great to draft with people that you love being able to draft with because the reactions are real you get sniped on picks everybody loves the same players it's just so much fun man so let's take it to everybody that's watching what piece of advice after you just went through what you went through would you give everybody watching for their draft i would say weight on quarterbacks mike clay just talked about it you do not need to grab a quarterback early you can wait until the later rounds of the draft you can load up on skill position players running backs wide receivers elite tight ends do all of that first and then grab someone late i grab russell wilson late mike got tom brady aaron rodgers matthew stafford is still out there there are plenty of late quarterbacks to be able to grab don't go out and grab one early i mean congrats on the rust book he's no derek carr but you know i wish you luck anyway great job man you got my vote only because you're with us right now get back to work thank you buddy appreciate it uh it is funny to see that though and it is a reminder that everybody can sort of fall into that same trap so it's been a wild exciting time hanging out aaron dole and jason fitz aaron we've had a blast who's the first time we've gotten to hang out the first times gets cooper cup fifth overall which i know i know i know it's impossible to repeat back-to-back seasons like that but god and fifth overall feels like a steal yeah and that's part of why i actually bumped her up because i like that a lot getting her at five getting uh cooper cup in five of course i like cmc at two but cop falling all the way to five is a value jones conor a good value we talked about that during the draft so good draft and mina your patience paid off at quarterback you get kyler in the ninth round yeah i listen i feel really good about that pick i know i made a joke about the homework but i actually think he is a tremendous quarterback he's going to produce at a really high level he just because of his ability to use both his arm and his legs he's so explosive um yeah i'm excited to see what he does this season yeah the only quarterback in nfl history with at least 70 passing touchdowns and 20 rushing touchdowns in the first three seasons of his career color a unique player that much is for sure let's move forward here to the next of our draft grades and by the way stephanie bell up next for our draftgate's austin eckler her first pick uh-huh and very invested in the chargers and the cowboys here you got two from both of those teams and they're pretty good offenses i'm going with an a minus give me a little minus here i don't remember why i was a galleon of course that's why not not on that one knocked you for that but otherwise really good andrews judy we just talked about him like that a lot drake london one of my favorite sleepers this year good value and adam thielen so really good side of death taxes on your jk dobbins pick no we're out of time okay marathon's over next one here shefty starts off with jamar chase all right love it eight plus i love watching this team love this team he took the best guy in the draft room like every time he knows what he's doing here uh i'm not as quite as high on travis etm because uh james robinson is gonna be more involved than we thought i'm worried about his rushing output but i love the player chase adams a great one two punch we talked about fournette that is excellent value jalen waddle was terrific as a rookie lamar jackson you have a top five option there dalton schultz was one of the best values at tight end in the draft in this uh draft milestand are super undervalued this season you get devonta smith in a second yeah go on and on run we should we should do a few more rounds at least at least one high-ranking source has said to me that this is quote chef this year in the war room does this a-plus draft make you fear feel like that is an accurate forecast uh field i've never won it before that's some good teams takes a lot of luck takes some skill i'll believe when i see it if we can just replicate this draft from tonight when we do our draft the night before the nfl regulations 16 teams is a lot tougher than 10. you end up drafting four strings by the time we get to the last version of the draft all right mike wow look at this one oh my god let's just admire this silence the mona lisa beautiful yeah i don't see yeah you get it fourth round but other than that zero and mike waited all the way until the final round to grab a quarterback he went with tom brady so you started off with christian mccaffrey you wrap things up with tom brady solid team here mike you're good at your job as much as it pains the rest of us thank you so much fantastic at your job uh i'll give it a c uh moving forward here no that's c for clay uh we have another one damian what are you at the very first spot in this year's draft yeah so uh demon's way bigger than me so i'm going to watch what i see here but uh listen man too many quarterbacks you have as many quarterbacks that's before he even said he said i regretted taking joe borrow as high as i did that's the one that he regretted i have to knock you for that i mean you have some obviously some great star power i love javonte williams chris godwin was good value here so you got some good players but you came out of here i believe with two running backs yeah taylor and javonte got to add some a little bit later in the draft but uh again compete here you got to work the waiver on running backs a little bit i'm going i'm going uh b minus one b minus b minus [Applause] how many pluses you want [Applause] three pretty good well here's the good news is that there is an opportunity to work the wave of wire because there were some really good players that did not get drafted in this year's selection those include the likes of aaron rodgers and chase claypool notre dame enthusiasts out there watching right now are saying how do you not draft chase clay pools we bring things in a little bit closer plenty of opportunities to work the waiver wire you've already amended your damian woody draft yeah i have he's getting the a-plus you mentioned some of the undrafted players aaron rodgers chase claypole matthew stafford mike gosicki kenneth walker who we're keeping eye on that hernia issue but uh just shows you the depth and fantasy these days so much talent out there a few rookies drafted in this year's draft but also some rookies that are still available on the waiver wire guys who have some serious pedigree and upside first round picks including jahan dalton and jamison williams not taking in this year's draft but we did hear from guys like bruce hall and drake london amongst others that we're taking in this year's draft this feels like a solid impact for class maybe not a dynamic impact rookie class yeah i agree with you and we could look to year two as well even at the quarterback position right trevor lawrence is still out there and zach wilson and mack jones and davis mills maybe you know there's a lot of guy justin fields a lot of those guys every year there's a second year quarterback that makes a huge leap if not multiple of them that do and we didn't we took trey lance that's it we'll have everybody else out there so again wait a quarterback i'm just saying wait a quarterback trey lands certainly an enticing second year option at quarterback we
