[Music] hello and welcome to the city of second chances the las vegas challenge from beautiful wild horse golf club presented by innova disc golf you are watching the disc golf pro tour on jomez pro it's the first stop on the 2021 pro tour and you are joined by big sexy berry commentary myself nate sexton jeremy colling and paul euleberry and right into the grip 6 low profile eagle mcmahon leading the field and this ladies and gentlemen is history this is the highest rated card in disc golf history it has taken place right here right now 10 52 rating average for these four players calvin heinberg right there behind eagle paul macbeth and you know rounding out the card we have got a man from fort mill south carolina ricky wysocki just these are four previous champions these are the four highest rated and ranked players in the world i believe maybe chris dickerson's in there but i mean this is just set up for an incredible finish these are the 1050 boys i mean if you had a deck of cards disc golf themed i mean these are them kings these are the four aces these are them kings hole one par three 393. ob on the right you've seen it before looks like eagle's gonna go with that high backhand right to left wind so these guys are gonna have to get it out over that cart path over there on the right hand side as you see and then trust that it's gonna come back and oh that looks so good playing the hillside to perfection and just that extra ground play that you're gonna see today these flags are going to be ripping calvin yeah this wind is serious the persistent pers help me out persistence precision thank you jeremy yeah okay jeremy gets the winner there okay of eagle mcmahon's drive right there to hit it on the very top of that hill is pretty much the only place you can hit it on this hole with getting that nice and as you can see there's the action that i'm talking about you have to hit it on the top of that hill in order to get that soft glide down the hill and get you know pretty much a park job it really is a shame that this is phase one and we couldn't have spectators because with this card can you just imagine the gallery i mean this is i think galleries are going to be on a different level it's gonna be a new game we're gonna be seeing huge events it's gonna bring that excitement that we've just missed since last since about this event last year and the memorial and we saw we didn't even really see it at waco so much because that was right when the outbreak kind of hit and let's get into the mind of ricky wysocki before he tees off on this final round [Music] i'm ricky wysocki i'm 27 years old and i'm from campo bello south carolina i started playing disc golf when i was about 15 years old neighbor across the street from me growing up in ohio he got me started i went to his garage picked a dx valkyrie and a dx rock trashed i remember i was throwing that thing 50 feet up in the air and hyzering backwards almost behind me at first the moment i kind of knew that i was gonna be a top professional is when i was i started playing leagues i started winning the leagues and then all the all the locals started saying hey you're good you're onto something and so i started traveling throughout all the local states and playing all regional tournaments [Music] out here at wild horse the greens are fast the fairways are fast lots of ob you're landing hyzer on these fairways it's going to skip 50 60 and who knows even farther sometimes i mean the wind's always ripping out here it's very rarely dead calm 2017 las vegas challenge was a great start to the year i got a first win my first las vegas challenge and i went on to win a world championship that year so it was a great year for me and the las vegas challenge really kicked it off i haven't had enough experience [Applause] there's mr waisaki there yeah yeah so for for me to get focused going into a final round with a lot of pressure being on the lead card i do i do a lot of meditation i do a lot of breathing exercises i do a lot of cold showers actually it sounds crazy when it's cold out but you know cold therapy actually like gets me psyched up and gives me energy that i wouldn't normally have when i get under pressure i can go back and say hey what was i thinking about this morning in my in my meditation session and that'll really give me confidence time for the 2021 las vegas challenge lead card let's get it i had no idea about the cold shower that's a pretty interesting technique yeah talk about persistence guys am i right stop it about this guy nope you don't get to use that word for the rest of the round i don't think there's a more persistent player on tour first one going sidearm here he's got that turned over he's gonna need a little help might be a little deep as well so i also i just get the feeling with rick that when it gets windy he's just kind of like nice you know and all the rest of us are like oh it's so windy this is tough and i just feel like he's like oh man is this as wendy's gonna get come on a little more because his putt is just so effective he's just powerful well who on this card isn't that way oh my god really yeah just speaking of i mean that's so i mean that's such a good effort through a bunch of wind i mean the flight of that putt was not congruent with the amount of wind that you're hearing right now in the speaker i mean it's just [Music] nice nice birdie from eagle that was so dead it was so money just the very bottom part of the band man what a highlight that would have been calvin up and in for the birdie and and ricky and macbeth really don't have much room for air going into this round with eagle having the forehand backhand combo calvin with just the the consistency that he's had those two players are are out and above the rest of the field right now and and it's going to take a monumental effort from either one of macbeth or wysocki to come back and get into this mix yeah absolutely three birdies is incredible there though in that wind unbelievable hole two part three 270 feet straight ahead just a slight left finish perhaps if anything and you've got to keep this pretty low because all these trees are just a little bit wider at the height you would normally throw you can't really get through cleanly especially this last one so it's kind of a low skipper mid-range most likely the disc choice for these guys unless of course yeah what okay eagle is going that spike hyzer route and came up a bit short the first time we saw him try it and it looks like it has worked in round four yep i think this might be a luster plastic rock might be a rock 3. it's a pretty common miss it is hard to keep that mid-range flying to the left on this low ceiling that just a little break midway down the fairway but getting that swing is really difficult especially with that left to right crosswind we have right now i mean it really just adds to the impressive shot that eagle threw that he's bringing wind into play as macbeth just says another beautiful shot low ceiling bringing the wind into play i mean right now he has all these trees that are blocking the wind but nope just gonna go up and over everything and expose the side of the disc to the wind this is a play i haven't seen very often with the pig looks great wow yeah nice shot such a hard shot to throw there with that cross when once you show that anhyzer angle the wind tends to just smash that right into the ground and you don't really get the full flight so and 270 with a pig i mean that takes a lot of power too i mean that's probably a well-seasoned approach for for rick i saw uh macbeth on the practice screen this morning as we take a look at eagle's putt and i'll kind of finish this story after we see if he can convert this birdie of course beautiful putt but he threw his buzz and as it came out of his hand he said you know that thing is done it's finally done and all the dark gray and our uh our our commentary partner here yuli uh yesterday's round kept noticing hey that buzz he's always 40 feet away what's going on he keeps flipping that buzz over and today on the green he was like yeah the thing just not working right and i said hey did you throw that on 16 and you throw it on four and he's like yeah that's the one so you were dead on that buzz is uh not likely to see a lot of action today i think man felt like it had kind of turned the corner now he's got a new green buzz in there and a nice little luna putt here which he connects on and three birdies on the card on this hole again these guys don't really feel the effects of the wind like the rest of us i'm gonna guess that every hole will be burning today or by one of the players yeah or a little better yeah that's probably a good prediction i mean what other card would you ever say that about i mean this is this is amazing stuff that we're blessed to see today hole 3 par 3 270 to the elevated basket out of bounds water and out of bounds cart path long all out of bounds are going to go to a drop zone if if these guys can hit that black base part i think there's going to be a little donation to charity as well so a little added bonus if they can uh make contact there probably like an md5 just enough distance to get around that and that is just so well thrown i bet he birdies it from there are they called md5s or md4s the over the really overstable ones don't know now never would never will at least i'm trying that famous black zone paul loves to throw and that's going to be just as good this hole is uh it's really interesting because you're you're teeing off from an elevated surface and then you're going downhill over this water area and this tree that sticks out over the water you see ricky go underneath this is hammered this needs to slow down oh no wow it was so overstable i really thought he crushed that huh just such an overstable disc because it looked to me like it got on a little bit of anhyzer i was worried that was going to push the path long yeah you got to be so brave in order to get a anhyzer at any point in this win today that's you know going with the win not trying to fight against it that should any of us throw that it's probably done so but but 270 downhill is so short i mean of a of a hole for any of these guys and to be throwing that into this head when it just is there's so many different things that are competing with one another that make this shot so touchy [Music] oh that was a great effort from 35 feet from calvin i feel like calvin is the only one in these conditions on this card with a real disadvantage with the putter and a headwind because he has that really long kind of push butt stroke i mean he's great at it but when you're comparing them against these guys yeah these guys have different spin angles that they can switch to eagle really doesn't change his putt in the wind and ricky is kind of one of those guys that's had like 10 different putting styles in in his career and he's been able to successfully go with any of them at any given point that he wants and he's gonna have to come up with something here because he is in the one spot within 20 feet that is completely obstructed wow unlucky nice putt he just goes forward he's like oh there it is pink that's a hard putt to maintain your balance as well to really get your body into it with off to the knee a lot of times you can fall forward on that one and that would have been a football in that situation but he maintained his balance and eagle gonna putt with a mid-range or something here maybe just for convenience sake i don't know if that strategy or that headwind's blown pretty stiff right there i mean a little bit more stability maybe a little bit more predictable eagle and macbeth off to a perfect start it's really blowing me away hole four par three 377 new t-pad this year so you kind of have to hit a gap or go up over the top out of bounds is just beyond the basket and it is it comes up on you quick if you kind of clear this little rise almost certainly gonna cross that path and be left with a nearly impossible wind butt quite like this change on this hole looks like it's just gonna be a putter for eagle here kind of a tailwind sports too easy not bad at all they're throwing frisbees in the wind you know what i mean like that's a tough thing to control and he just the bigger the rim the harder it is to control in the wind because the wind gets under that and just does whatever you want so this is just incredible to see that right there this is also maybe you that's that much buzz that's a buzz [Music] ricky turning it over maybe a bit too much he's gonna be about 65 maybe even more out ricky really can't afford to fall behind anymore he's already seven back and we've already played three holes calvin see if that if those bushes are in his swing at all this could be a kind of a touchy spot to be in this wind to try to get close enough to save an easy par yeah that's a lot of ground to make up right there from him to the basket looks like he got a pretty free place to swing his arm but he's gonna need that to slide oof okay this could be a really pivotal moment in this round and it's still so early but eagle's showing that he's ready and poised for this round already three under and calvin's already dropped two strokes from the uh from the pace that eagle setting here's that spot that macbeth has been putting at seems like the whole tournament i mean if he can get a few of these to drop this round especially this one i mean momentum will be on his side yeah it's about 35 feet oh and off left but if calvin doesn't connect on this putt next thing you know macbeth is going to be tied for second place something to keep an eye on [Music] oh no is a goner and man it it's worse than i thought this could be a three stroke swing and just like that i mean what could be more comfortable for eagle at that point yeah he's just gaining strokes with bars at this point oh eagle's still got a relatively short birdie putt here come on calvin [Music] that's on every hole out here though you miss a putt there's a real good chance that that thing's gonna roll away no way what a monster what that was 45 feet oh that was more than 45 man look at how clean that's spinning too incredible yeah that didn't flutter one bit the entire way into the chains and it's like that frustrating yeah okay i get it it was a great putt but i'm not that happy about it but it's at the same time you're really happy that it's over and the eagle does connect and my goodness he's off to a hot start five shot lead that is danger time for the rest of these guys i mean very precarious wow he's gonna be uncatchable if he can keep this pace [Music] what kind of weed do you think somebody has to get against these guys for it to be comfy for people that aren't in this 1050 club for this card oh for this card i think a i think a five stroke leads feel a that's my guess i mean i'm sure he's not letting himself relax but i think he's probably feeling very in control of what's going on here with the whole five looming our first par four 606 feet out of bounds just long of the basket uh one of the toughest features of this hole and the reason i say that it starts to get cushy at five or six strokes is i mean even though obviously we have so many holes left and there's so many things that can happen in this wind he can start to play safe in some situations and then it's not like these holes are all easy to birdie i mean they have to attack super hard and when you get in attack mode in these conditions on these greens yeah usually doesn't work out in your favor so it'll be interesting to see if if anyone can make a push though look at this play from macbeth wow is this going to hold angle wow man that's juiced up there in the headwind it's actually kind of a cross head one but man that is a bomb why would you why would you decide to do that that's crazy that's a flex play man he's just flexing that he can kind of surprising to see ricky not go with the forehand hyzer it's such a strength of his and i really feel like it benefited the wind direction and the gap's bigger over on the forehand side as well still a manageable distance from where he is correct but for sure you can you can cover a lot of ground if you have that weapon talk about a weapon yeah that's that's a typical calvin heinberg shot just hello five feet off the ground 480. hopefully he has a permit for that one because that's dangerous the gun or what the weapon the weapon yeah the weapon yeah re-watch the i will i yeah it's okay it's good let's see what ricky's got here this is a pig pushing it about as far as he probably ever does there and he's safe maybe up against the wall at the bottom of the hill you go playing that pretty much to perfection it's going to be another short putt for birdie macbeth from about 220 feet flicking the wrist with the zone and that'll be it's happen [Applause] finally up to calvin's drive that's insane that macbeth throws a flex shot full flight and cal calvin with a nice break there calvin outdrives him with just a hyzer flip so a little flat one this is this is stranger danger right here and i'm talking about the basket yeah great look out witness protection program get out of the way when i'm when when we're all warming up for a round i will spend like a couple minutes sometimes just watching rick throw 50-foot putts it's just awesome to watch it's really entertaining honestly i just it blows my mind how consistent he can be from that range and you know in a round you might see a couple of them but in practice you get to see like 10 of them in like a couple of minutes it just makes them all when i'm stepping up to a hole i visualize everything what's the wind the water the trees what disc am i gonna choose [Music] what's the distance okay 425 i'm going with the esp nuke knowing the distance is pretty much the most important thing i feel like it's going to revolutionize how good people get i am paul euleberry working together with bushnell we can push the game to a whole new level [Music] a nice star frame for our league group 25 to the edge foundation [Music] on to the friendliest looking tricky hole that you're ever gonna see this the wind is wreaking havoc on the sixth just 222 feet but it's an island green if you go out of bounds anywhere you're left with a 45-footer dead at the water got to get a very overstable disk throw flat and low and it doesn't look like eagle has done that does it stay in bed yeah yes yeah it's great it's safe so it's wonderful yeah it's great any other day in round two this was a breeze no pun intended this was a very easy hole and in round four this is oh that's a 500 disc right there in the water this is maybe the most exposed we were to win the entire round just because we're right there on the back side of the lake just straight headwind get down quick safe to your point on the last hole i feel like when you go to a basketball game and you're like watching steph curry warm up kind of the same thing you know i wonder if the other players think the same thing they're just like i'm gonna just sit here and watch steph for a little bit yeah it's awesome they must this needs to sit oh that lifted and that is out of bounds so we'll have two players proceed to the drop zone and really you'd like to go for it from there but it's just not a very good decision i don't think we're gonna see them go for this we'll see i feel like they have to you there is that i mean macbeth said he's done laying up yeah you're right and yeah that's the penalty say hi to your zone yeah i mean you don't see macbeth with a bad wind read very often are you kidding huh wow calvin's not interested in good decision making he's yeah he's at the disadvantage and then he's lost two of the last three holes he's just gone 45 foot heart job wow and the eagle lays that up i mean makes sense you don't really need to be pushing when you're yeah five clear but edges circle oh he is being aggressive that's a couple that have hit high and i mean there is that this for a double bogey five drop paul seven off the pace eagle gonna be taking his first part of the round and it was just a decision that he made based on that cushy comf that that comfort zone that he's in right now and doesn't have to play aggressive i mean eagle has to make that putt i have no doubt in my mind that he's drawing solid metal maybe making it probably making it but he can make those decisions right now and doesn't lose a stroke to anyone on the card speaking of decisions this is a hole that i'm interested to see how eagle decides to play because it's so risky i mean you have any out of bounds takes you to the drop zone and it is a par four the bunkers you get to move up but you take penalty a lot of different uh options here it could be a high spike eyes are short but he does kind of look like he's eyeing up the green here in the calm i don't know if this necessarily feels like the par 4 that it's labeled in the wind it absolutely does oh wow oh no way barely in the sand such control though i mean that yeah in the little four foot radius that you're allowed to hit in and he was about four inches off from just a tap in eagle this needs to smash down this is looking pretty good oh my gosh it's really good it's amazing who knows what would have happened if it didn't hit metal but that's incredible it is so windy i just don't it's just that is precision at its finest i'll say it for you paul and persistence from him i said he can't say it anymore man and it's still just that eagle does this have enough to get over the green he's racing the eagle for the oh my gosh and he's safe wow [Applause] they really are the greens are it's you you feel like because the green is the shortest cut that you'll get big skips and typically you don't something about the greens they really do seem to to stop the disc here's that force paul's been throwing sounds like you've been doing some research i might have asked him a few things uh oh that's a weird situation where i really don't know if paul was going for it or playing the safe shot i got i think he was going for it just got the wind underneath it and that is a much harder shot than paul made it look it is a very narrow gap between those two bunkers fairly low for calvin that is so amazing that it's just still an eagle doesn't it dripping headwind don't need a disc up yet great putt there from the sand salvages the birdie paul in for par not a bad par on this windy day but when you're on this card you make a mistake you're gonna look pretty bad there were some scores to be had i mean there were plenty of sixes there was an eight out there some fives i mean once again we see that full range of score from eagle birdie par bogey double triple and above hole eight par three 427 feet downhill with the out of bounds on the left and then wrapping around the pin along usually this is a turnover mid-range or a forehand driver these in these wind conditions you might have to make an adjustment though either going more overstable than you thought or perhaps switching to a driver from a mid-range this has got to be one of the hardest holes of course this is the hardest hole in the course and ricky has blasted a forehand are you can you reach this in the headwind wow you are a you're a maniac for being able to reach this hole in a headwind that is insane i know this guy can reach in headwind and does he does he look for a little flip today or is it just full heiser yeah i imagine he's worried about going deep man that what a weapon i wonder if he has permits for those for a gun calvin go on the backhand turnover and this needs to get a little bit of slide and it does wow those are impressive incredible tribes everyone's inside circle two can't quite tell if calvin's inside circle one or not but and we know this is stable you threw this same force on the previous hole came up a bit short he's gonna have to keep this low which he gets it low and that looks great with the anhyzer out of the hand paul has a great forehand and he displays it right there i wasn't sure if he had enough distance to get there in the headwind but even he does i mean this is this is pretty incredible stuff that doesn't mean it's a gimme birdie though this is still a tough putt cross one right to left no chance sit down looks like he stays in bounds and the the door is closing yeah paul right now i think he feels like it's already closed yeah he kind of has that demeanor right now he's most likely right [Music] you see him he he's put himself at 35 feet it seems like this whole tournament in the calm in the wind wow wonderful yeah if he just brings that in a good five feet in the coming months you know what i mean then it's a completely different story well i don't believe macbeth has ever won at wild horse is am i correct insane i think you are he has won the las vegas challenge before calvin what a great putt that was obstructed straddle lean out to his left and guess what there were two birdies in this cut field in the entire day and we just saw both of them that is it that is why this was the hardest hole in the course and they could have had a star frame yeah yeah i mean just a few inches off from having a star frame just really showing why they are who they are and why they are they're 10 50 boys that's right hole nine par four six oh one this one is through a tight gap to start you've got ob down that right side and then the approach shot is so difficult because you just have to decide how close are you gonna push it to that basket how much risk are you going to bring in to going into that hazard sand trap really the smart play is take something stable and just bail out left but these guys are greedy they want that eagle look they really do man that is a big drive then he hit the pine yeah and i believe that's ari in the background ari helps ricky on tour with social media stuff and travels with him she is definitely his number one cheerleader yeah that's his tour manager tour manager yeah which is an amazing thing to have in the sport as calvin comes up wayward left and he's going to have to try to salvage a par i don't know if you can reach that too from where he is does anyone want to be my tour manager i feel like that's such an advantage to there it's still okay yeah it drops out into the fairway but quite a bit short of where ricky landed [Music] if he figures this out yeah he's actually in the wide open i i thought he might be obstructed with some palms he figured it out he said what a horrible break oh man so close to being perfect and that's the difference between his draco and his eagle that you could see right there wow i mean look at that look at the distance he's left with once again but yeah the uh in this headwind situation we're going to see calvin most likely go with that draco quite a few more times than he would normally throw or in situations he would normally throw the eagle sure [Music] ricky in attack mode yeah he is wow that was a great run eagle just showed the easiest birdie you're ever gonna see on this hole um calvin in for par after that unfortunate penalty eagle is just on cruise control yeah he is and really so is rick seven down on the front nine and that's what eagle shot but could you imagine thinking that you just shot seven down on the front nine in these conditions and you were trailing by five and you did not gain a stroke on the leader yeah you're just getting wrecked and this got to be demoralizing going into the final nine holes eagle he's got a comfortable lead and the holes are running out for calvin heinberg ricky wysocki's there too but i mean it's something incredible is gonna have to happen for these guys that have a chance and we've just got nine holes left at the las vegas challenge come back for the back nine [Music] me [Music] i

Is Eagle throwing a Tilt?

That high pitch melody on the music during hole breakdowns is really making it hard to hear the voices, it clashes a bit and I really hope they dont keep it as is for the next tournaments.

Im also a bit unsure about the three commentators thing. I love em all But it just got to be a bit much. Found myself zoning out completely from time to time... might just be that they Will get better together, as they are all great When they are Two of em.
