2021 Ford Bronco | First Ride!

oh [Applause] [Music] ronco [Music] [Applause] hello bronco lovers we're here at off-road park outside detroit to test drive the new ford bronco it's an exclusive employee only event but we were lucky enough to get invited here to film it so let's see what we got and let's have a great time today let's go [Music] we're here with mark from ford he's going to show us the new bronco tell us a little about the models about how you remove the roof and how important this is for ford this is our brand new 2021 ford bronco and for the first time ever we have a four-door version so it's got all the capability but it's got more versatility and it's got even a better open-air experience where you can store literally all four doors on board in the back in the cargo area how many different colors you can put in there's 11 different colors across the bronco this one's called our cactus gray it's got a little bit of a green or bluish tint to it but certainly you're going to be able to very easily mix and match this vehicle so everything from the doors the roof the grab handles even the trail sites tell us a little bit about the changes from the gen 1 bronco to the gen 6 property so we literally started when we did the design of this we took a first-gen bronco and they literally digitally scanned that vehicle and so we set the proportions and the overall design of this new bronco based on that first gen so you're going to see a lot of the same design cues that you saw in that first generation but obviously in a much more modern kind of off-road vehicle but when you see this at first sight i think you're gonna say well this is a brock up we're gonna jump in the new ford bronco let's go for a ride let's see how it is [Music] [Applause] oh holy crap that was nuts wait you get one of these you know one of the key features here again you had to have the round headlamps if it was a bronco we have multiple different grilles that are easily interchanged on this for the first time you got bronco across the grill right instead of ford like the original one of the neat features that i really like is these are called trail sights this was actually a design cue but they also are load bearings so you can tie down you know a kayak or a canoe on the roof of your vehicle as well tell me a little about the how you improve the ride quality from the gen 1 to the gen 6 which i did take a ride in the gen 6 right unbelievable unbelievable right tell us about that yeah it's night and day so we've got a unique suspension system we're calling our haw suspension system and it's based on an independent front suspension you know same suspension architecture that we use on a raptor it gives you a great ride kind of around town uh when you want that but on the trails plenty capable and when you got the big meaty tires like this does 35 inch tires from the factory and it's on every series how about the anticipation from the bronco lovers you were saying before like you almost crashed the internet yeah like tell us about that that's like amazing because i know i know hundreds of bronco lovers myself like so tell me about that we thought we were ready on the night of reveal for the anticipation and excitement of the new bronco but we literally almost melted down our website for about four hours it was just so many people coming in we've got over 160 000 reservations and counting right now but just the anticipation and excitement has just blown us away so over here we've got our cyber orange two door and i'm kind of debating myself which one am i gonna get the two or the four that's yours can i buy this today so this is our cyber orange uh it's our it's our two-door uh version on this again you got removable top because it's a bronco you gotta have a removable top spend a lot of time trying to make the open-air experience really easy and just the whole experience even taking the doors off is so much easier you see there's no frame around the top of the door here so this is a frameless store right more like a mustang convertible so it's lighter weight easier to handle when you take off the doors even the check strap for the door is integrated right into the hinge so it's super easy to take off and get that off and when you take the doors off you still got mirrors mounted right on the body for that yeah yeah i like the different color interior as well it's nice right tell me how light these are i actually lifted one before i was like very impressed on how light this is it's meant for anybody to be able to take this off very easy two separate panels super lightweight and you know because when you want open air you don't want to be messing around or having to ask for somebody for help you just want to do it so we have an all ecoboost lineup we've got a 2.3 liter ecoboost engine with 270 horsepower and then we also have the 2.7 liter v6 ecoboost so it's got a lot of power and then you can either get the 10-speed automatic on both engines or we've got a really unique 7-speed manual transmission you get a crawl ratio of nearly a hundred to one the gas tank we've got a couple different sizes depending on the uh the two and the four-door there not only do you have off-road cameras that you can see almost like your own personal spotter of the vehicle we can see where your tires are going you can also have what we call our off-road trail maps so imagine you know you're going off the trail you don't have the cell service anymore but you can download any number of trails to your phone it'll project right on that big center screen there for you you can project your off-road trail map right there you can share it with friends or family four by four standard on bronco wow yeah we're not messing around here four by four standard because you know when you go out to the wild you need that capability the bronco two and four-door will be arriving at dealers uh kind of spring of next year thank you for having
