we are down to the final evening of round-robin play here at the Scotty's was a place to boost Joe [Music] the page playoffs are on the horizon as the championship pool wrapped up at Mosaic place the country's top teams are on the collision course for the wheat heads tonight the battle for that coveted number one seed heats up where in Moose Jaw it's two Scotties [Music] [Music] and making our way in to mosaic place the upper concourse for this final night of round-robin play in the championship pool this afternoon a key game between Prince Edward Island and Northern Ontario the result really several teams and their future in the event depending on this result pei down six three playing ten and Northern Ontario left with so many stones in play and Krista McCarville had to make that little rub and roll over that left Pei and Susanne Burt with this trying to run it back she has three to tie four to win and she wouldn't get it getting just two as Northern Ontario picks up the win and that eliminates anyone else in contention and so now we already know the four qualifying teams elsewhere team wildcard Jennifer Jones wins over Manitoba it was British Columbia beating Team Canada's defending champions and Ontario wins by five over Saskatchewan and so here we go we know that Northern Ontario can do no better than fourth place but Ontario team wildcard in Manitoba tonight will sort out one two and three and the page player and on this Friday night we do say hello Canada welcome back to moosh our continuing coverage of the Scottie Sherrill Russ alongside and so it is Manitoba against Ontario our featured game and Manitoba goodness gracious they've just lost two games all week hard to pick where their fault may lie and there's only two little faults that ended up being big on the scoreboard to this afternoon against Jones give up a four word off the bat that games over a seven D'Andrea Crawford in here Brunswick that came joven other than that they've been just about perfect number one in stats they just in both cases tried too hard to force their opponents forgot to bail a hoot and cost him two games interesting when you talk about Ontario it turns out maybe a shot here maybe a shot there well in you're right they may have bad shots but they rarely turn into full Bad ends and that's really because the uncanny ability of this team to know when to bail judgment ROC placement and Rachel Homan herself she has the ability now to save an end with her draw and you now see a team that is able to summon performance on demand and they're gonna need to do so tonight to get in that one two game alright so it is Manitoba against Ontario we know that team wildcard adjoins is also in the mix we'll sort it all out over the course of the next three hours what come across kick it away [Music] what a great shot [Music] got to get through the port they will hang red doors [Applause] Manitoba [Music] the Scotties Tournament of Hearts it's brought to you by Tim Hortons the official copy of curling Canada the Scotties Tournament of Hearts is brought to you by okay tire and vkt tires by Purex bathroom tissue soft and absorbent for over 95 years and by new holland proud sponsor of curling Canada [Music] so it is team Ontario against Manitoba on this final evening of round off and play time to meet the team down brought to you by Home Hardware here's how team Ontario the champions hail from the Ottawa curling club Rachel Holden along with Lisa Wiegel Joanne Courtney and Emma miscue three-time champion Rachel Homan T Manitoba Kerry Anderson and the team from the Gimli curling club with Brienne mayor Shannon Bertrand and Val Sweden [Music] and Manitoba has won the turn of the button and so they will have the last Rock I'll have to hammer playing the yellow stones Rachel Homan Oh brush down and to get us underway the Ontario lead is Lisa wheat that's already a minor victory for mounted told me to get the hammer the one thing you want to do if you can is keep the hammer away from this home and team they've been just deadly this week 64% of the time they're converting to two or more with the hammer that's the highest number out here in this field what would you say the average would be around 30 yeah 35 40 40 is probably high yeah Ontario has five wins and no losses however without the last rock dangerous as well all right let's take a look at the keys to the game and we will start with Ontario I just talked about the hammer the this team of their scoring machines they do what they need to do when they have hammer they take risks and they put a lot of points on the board and then MMS q I think she's one of the best line callers so she could get the award tonight for sure for saving some shots I think she can get the most out of Rachel's shots by calling line and even by recognizing what a plan B would be on our line called the Emma goes to very good and the keys now for Manitoba well careful with those I meaning careful without hammer that we just talked in the opening the to disastrous ends the foreign that which caused them to gamble give up another four and then the seven two new fronts work nobody's good enough to come back from those type of numbers so really really take his much stock of what's going on with the ends and if you have to bail bail Rock placement that's what causes these big ends and nobody's better at capitalizing on putting a rock in the wrong spot and reach a home in in Ontario you throw a rock and they're top eight instead of back eight they make the double four to the case of the game I thought would never end are brought to you by pure X bathroom tissue soft an absorbent for over ninety five minutes there were ninety five years I didn't hear the last you know you but you talk about the first ends for Manitoba in particular they have scored in their last three they scored a three with her a score to three with have been earlier today they gave up before to keep it to a wild card and Jones so the first end has been very explosive either way it's telling for them probably why they went o up inside here just to keep it a little more seen we would love to blank this one I would search fresher than even end but if you're gonna handicap these two teams you have to look at the experience is definitely on home inside in big games they've just been together longer and many more of them and not that this is a sudden-death game but it would be a nice one to get into that won two games we did mention that prior to the championship round the ice makers have touched up the rocks I think of it as a your skate sharpened the skates sharpen the stones the ice was getting just a little straight so as we say the evening Cathy go Jay you have to now adjust it's almost like going back to day one for every team including Manitoba well Kerri for sure felt that the ice was more sensitive this morning she said it could have been in part to those sharpened stones and it may also been in part to those new sharpening stones on fresh pebble it for sure caught them with a lot of bounce off sand those bounce offs wound up to be a four for Jennifer Jones you talked about the bail she felt that she was bailing rust but she was trying to bail out of ends by soft shots that's the talk with patty bandy talking of patty bandy now patty bootrec talking about how do you bail while you bail with your strength and that's right through the order that's the hits yeah there's no doubt they thought as we look at Shannon Burchard throwing the the second stones trying to run this one back and we'll touch it over tis it go all the way yes it does they waited too long against New Brunswick they waited really too long at times even against a wild card and Jones today when do you go well sometimes with foul sweetings first if not you certainly go with the last of Shannon Bertram we just wait that with and set with a 15-foot run back to get that onto a very rock out of there that's the weapon for sure all there this is touching girls hockey pac-12 I [Music] think this is gonna be the matchup to watch tonight I mean they're all close both skips tied at the same percentage both leads pinkie watch Val Sweeting and Emma miscue and that'll be a battle and the one that gets a little bit of an edge that's gonna be a benefit for the skipper Belle's off a point on Emma and the most used to being a top dog back to the T line Manitoba with last fall we didn't have to brush that I think they're worried about the over curl [Music] not peeking over they may have a game coming up though they reseed Jennifer Jones team wild card in the background she has qualified not sure where she will wind up first second or third you certainly want to be in that one two game gives you that second chance yes huge critical one of the other Roque I'm trying to get it down on the corner just rolls off a little looks a little better with the O term but they haven't played it so you'd be taking a little bit more of a guess down that center line path this is the better call you can tap that moment's don't back just a touch yeah a lot more practice rocks out wide like this aren't they racing to the button in both directions and they are sitting too with the hammer so British Columbia Saskatchewan those teams were eliminated with northern Ontario's win earlier today Northern Ontario potential matchup against wild card and Jennifer Jones smiley Championship Brown begins Ontario Manitoba's are featured in Team Canada the defending champions Chelsea carry at four and six pei eliminated also earlier today [Music] Rachel's to make this effectively as to get to the inside of that yellow which is underneath it has to get a little closer to the guard [Music] would you ever play the oak turn at this if you're going to try to get down to the corner and maybe be a shot stone or cut them down could you play the other turn you could for sure you could I think again it goes back to they've seen this path they know this wait and they be guessing a bit with the out turn on the wait and rolling it back and not getting inside enough so those two yellow rocks still sit one - Manitoba almost it looked like it was going to really try to go hard great shot go look Rachel can raise that with either turn right now so take match because I mean like here's fine I think even wide open on the centerline top for Miss Rachel tops that red one you get a one foot raise situation if you bury this rock and then you can't raise it you know natural center don't know Center you know I just think what are you most concerned about hear them tapping and forcing you or stealing on you if that's the case and you're probably throwing at top aide trying to guard the top forcing them to a tough game on TV I actually think I'd take away this time the intercom yeah they're kind of trying to do both here you see they're gonna try an angle on the red just settle they're sitting the three it's interesting that these are the four playoff teams two in our game and two in this game which we update now Northern Ontario final stone they have the hammer the team from Thunder Bay Krista McCarty but an opportunity for to Jennifer face to on her final stone tried the kit and roll behind the center guard and just stuck it so it is open but shot and that's why she's playing the hips and to read it is so Northern Ontario opens with a couple against team wildcard and Jennifer Jones who's tournament began a week ago tonight in the wild-card game at a win over Tracey flurry to get herself into the field of 16 just a foot too far really could not they can angle it in back well straight straight back I should say and angle out that back Rock I'm not sure why they were brushing on a simple so it's got to be perfectly straight back if you high-sided jams that yellow and you roll out and i wonder why you might leave that's gonna be okay knows they're only laying one yeah oh God two one rid of one moved a second and shot stone now does belong to Ontario I think there's enough room don't you just got to get it right on the center line so you you've got to scare that GERD but that goes that goes and I don't think that can possibly roll out it's got to stay right there sorry Rachel's almost backed up she throws it a wee bit differently than most players so you've got to get close to the guard here peel wait that'll get enough action on that right hand as we're looking at it now and make sure you get by get rid of that one roll over you get two if you move it at you know a foot you get three don't let that guard ruin things here so Manitoba trying to do something while the team has done this week and that score three against oh there it is so statistically that's it first Manitoba scores three against Ontario who give up three for the first time and look at that Manitoba the last two times they had the hammer in the first end they scored three three in a row [Music] Manitoba love is the first end don't think for the third straight game where they've had the last rock in the first they put three on the board so here we go to the second on this final night round-robin played in the championship pool Ontario will have the hammer playing the red stones into well what will make this a battle is what we talked about it in the very first end as Homans team has their 20% better with the hammer so even though you had a three point lead and it's early for you know the five Rock makes you continue to play the game to which always brings in more opportunity for the team that is down oh yes and when you think about it it Carrie Anderson this is the shot that helps set up the three while we've talked about how she's working on her draw finesse shots because this is money for her just was made right out of her hand that's what she's becoming is known for and that led to the three the key shot brought to you by beat Katy tires growing together lot of similarities in these two skips we we've picked on Rachel over the years because they're so good we've always said they're the best hitting team on the planet well Carrie Anderson comes along she pretty good hitter so you start saying well the weakness is drawing and both teams have obviously look at the finesse shots that were made they're just incredible first and fresh pebble different spots well played and by Manitoba I think Amy shot that really got Ontario in trouble was because Val made we talked about that being a big key matchup his Val made really good fries Emma chipped off and that started that bad series of them freezing on something with backing we're gonna make the double trying to stay wanted to stay but it's still useful a corner guard and get all the wheels down chanted Burchard I find it fascinating with her delivery because when she's coming out for Appeals just have a lot of things happen she counter turns and then turns a rock back and it's amazing with the extra rotation the back set on a ford set now watch this counter and she doesn't have a lot of time she's coming out for a peel Theo turns even tougher it's it's you got to get that in before that hog line shows up hard to do that year Shannon took Katelyn loss spot she was brilliant Jones and a pressure situation walked into to Marcel rock of course safe Abby Furby fourth and in his second tour with this team when you think about it and it was interesting he said because we talked about yunxiang and he was coaching China at the time and he said it was in his contract that he would not coach against Canada because Rachel Homan when she was going back and forth which live in his basement right so she was family with him so she wouldn't he wouldn't coach her against her but when he came back they said can we try again and he said okay with these conditions and he says they've learned and she has learned how to also throw the quieter wait because she's got to become a better drawer and it's a curious thing because it's the same thing with with a carry Anderson you have a belief that can only make the upward shots and you have to work on it and we're until you in fact believe it becomes your favorite you start to look to the draw as opposed to the hip I think it's fascinating rust to see the little bits of all the coaches that Homans team has worked with you look at you know they've taken some things from Earl Morris and then Richard Hart was with Adam Kingsbury analytics like they've just built and built upon all these great coaches and then back to Marcel Rock and I think that was for the touch game no kidding no kidding it adds up to an awfully good curling game yeah smart to reach out to the right people [Applause] [Music] that's at the yellow double but to make the yellow double you're gonna leave a red double let's just work really hard and roll right so doubled and rolled away yeah as far left as you can with a rolling out and but you can't you can't hit a too far off center so there's big weights required here [Music] nice to sit the two as we drop in on the game British Columbia Saskatchewan they hit blank the first final stone final game for Robins silver Nagle Saskatchewan this year Scotty's well facing three Corrine brown tried to play the freeze she got locked on part but if Robin can get to the nose oh and she squeezes it out too smeared it out the back in for up three and yeah you know she didn't it's a disappointing week let's be honest didn't get the crowd into didn't feed off the crowd as much [Music] well the schedule got tough they were doing really well lots of clothes came North Ontario and then one oak played three in a row just kind of ran out of steam it's already a long week and a grind and add that into the mix great role by Emma there it didn't think she could roll quite that far on a shot of the double at all patty vote Rick coaches this team from Gimli and of course she lives in Gimli and so they spent a lot of time on the ice together and that's where they've worked so hard on the draw weight and those sort of hack wait those halfway shots as it were but further ado what's your point earlier about this team they get caught up what's the adage you try so hard to force some team to a single and you end up giving three and four yeah she says they're guilty of that and they've got to make sure they pick their bail point a lot earlier another great shot that looks simple but you're gonna have to get by that red one by about an inch to make it properly you have to throw it firm to get some separation [Music] this is a huge shot right here oh yeah it's three two if you don't make this one and they're right back in at Ontario yeah make it Ontario's going boy what am i up against what do we do here she's down to the other end having a look Val Sweden I'm just thinking if they can't hold this shooter here and forever one reason the shooter should go would you play a split for a three on that one on the front it's probably makeable okay top I think Sweden went up to have a look yeah I wanted to see how tight it wasn't what the ankle would be look out now look at now oh oh maybe we'll see it now Northern Ontario up by a couple and looks like they are shot stones at the top four so what's this for two or three this is a chance for three Krista McCarville facing three on her final stone was trying to play a hit and roll underneath all of those stones but stuck it right on the nose so it is open for Jennifer for three drop the first game of the event right after they won the wild-card game and they've rattled off nine straight oh dear and that spins too far settles for two so here we go playing the split yeah gonna give it a go Stephanie there they're gonna miss it so so they'll get their deuce missing the chance for the split three to Manito Lisa Wiegel throwing the lead stones for Ontario part of the Ottawa curling club as we welcome you back on this Friday night to Moose Jaw and our coverage of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts the Canadian women's curling championship 3-2 to Manitoba leads it and we go to the third Manitoba with last Ron Klain me Yellowstone's Manitoba Ontario Northern Ontario team wild car Jennifer Jones they are your four playoff teams we will sort out the final seedings for the Paige playoffs at the end of the evening [Music] that's to back of the tea line it's probably the fastest the first one they they wanted back there so there's no hit and roll but that's probably the fastest spot that in turn six or seven shots they're in the first and right they've been down there so many times just sliding really good jo-ann Courtney Holman out to now trying to get that leading edge that curling edge and try to help adults and boy do they ever it's underneath sitting top of the button how nice is that [Music] straight peel on the dangerous one I always liked that roses tannin Burchard trying to get rid of the stone up top or they just caught it and a slide on through but there's join Courtney no great sweeping Emma would like to reply thank you but she's out of breath she'd like to say something and just can't she nods they just caught us oh that's kind of carefree let me catch my breath first well that's a tough one when you don't even they tried to get it by just take the top one didn't remove it and that's the rule of thumb isn't it Russ you get one or the other yeah exactly I think Chen is just she's just trying to throw my hair to her set up a double here there isn't so the down to the corner that the corners showing I like chasing it Sheryl if you throw hack wait stay on top of it kick one of them out of there because it might put a better well guard all right you'll never get a chance yes it's a double peel it can but you better make it okay bail point mm-hmm this is it well they have hammer here so you can you can usually be a little later with hammer okay but yes yes absolutely it's when Shannon's got the tools to make this type of shot stop it but rolls it over it spills now covering the edge of the 12 but the shooter hangs up it's out there covering the edge of the four way better though that's part of the strategy Beckett's it's it's a tough shot but it's Shannon Burchard playing it so maybe it's worth the risk I you know and the only thing I lean toward playing old ones in the floor focus cuz there's two in there there's one the double peel all day but yeah now you're chasing two and you're still in trouble and you made a double peel yeah yeah you need a half shot miss here out of a team Ontario now I know you don't play for misses or you hope to not miss but if you're going if you would have played the two stones in the forefoot boy if you ever get don't get them then ya know and that's the risk Vic absolutely but they'd seen that spot so many times from the very first end on I think he could he easily played a board wait tab get rid of wine maybe stay on top you're looking over a big end ya know it's it that's the hard part it's and then when you don't act you you go out I was strategy was wrong one more time bang and away they go and then spills the gray stone out into the top edge of the four really and that's what patty vucic says in those begins the seven and then the two fours against Jones today yeah they missed their bail point but they also didn't execute yeah they missed shots they had to have that's gonna happen well and it usually does and it's a it's just compounded miss after Miss cuz the next player gets a little tighter and the next player and mm-hmm they can just go up the line this isn't heavy I've got to make a decision either bury it because it could over curl on it so they're getting it there wow that's something else isn't it nice shot since you might see that it is draw I could I like the head yeah it was pretty good that was key yeah Cheryl right if that stops a foot higher there's a double really great brushing I really like that they let the skipper take it yeah says a lot for skips I do I don't want to start that trend it's only a few feet off it just for a while and then by the time a her got back down to it watch what happens here or when she got there in time as it rolls over for shot stone looked like there was a huge hesitation val was having a good week kind of those key shots she'll get the roll so make the freeze she's gonna have to with Emma justa city to bury back when frozen all of a sudden the inside should curl I gotta believe it yeah I'm just being here yeah so we haven't really seen it right but it should be obvious little sore then you gotta stay down Jill keep it off center line Rachel Homan first skip stop yes is really running wanted jam and release that red looking at that red right now that could have been worse is that different rust than the first few days where the likes of Jennifer Jones and some others got caught on up wait shots that you were punished because they were update and it didn't catch the girl is that a little different this one yeah I think from Rachel's reaction she popped that out a little bit just just floated it out of here and and that that to your point that's what's that's been the common miss this week seemed to catch them off like I heard Emma say I like the throw so I just I also think they may be over iced it a bit too yes yeah Rach I thought it might crab some pebble that might be the other reason what did he they trying to roll inside her it's straight back and yellow under red I think straight back yeah I'm just rolling it out which is a red double to avoid it all couldn't so good they'll spill it and then there's that fight at the back and that's the one boy you saw the two they could have maybe if they held that once it for but they're sitting three at the moment yet curls another eighth of an inch she hits less of her own and sticks it but what a crease shot and what a great end again for Manitoba Rock double I believe in a 2-2 tie it looks like Northern Ontario may have a chance in another couple well she does thanks to a nice berry by Kendra Lily on her second Jennifer tried to go around was open was hit by Kristin McCarville and then Jennifer kitten rolled to the wings and this is I know what was on that stone for to okay we take a 4-2 lead Kendra Lily who throws the third stones for the team from Northern Ontario is outstanding terrific game earlier today and maybe the best we've seen her play had a Scotties it's close to doubles close to rolling Barry tough to get this out Fred we're right behind of the Oh turns probably the way to go yeah thank weekend cheese get a little finish out there Oh turn through the whole this way looks easier to me and even if you jam in the back when you score you score one yeah I stand in through that ten note here is actually nine three in around dead straight awful long guard you could you could probably get fairly close to the nose if you try pick the right speed here like hack hack the board I would believe is the way to go the Rachel's split for three that at the other end it was similar path and it kind of hit some pebble and died I want to get this by here comes that tire right here they closed purchase layer here they go here comes that guy staying with it avoid the jam push it and three [Music] [Applause] [Music] the sneaker there and then get away with a little bit of a jam and push it out the same great brushing can put two points on the board but put three [Music] you run another room there's three Manitoba [Music] all of you haven't let's get you caught up and what's going on at the World Junior Championships in Russia will start with women's play semi-final Canada against the Russians picking up fifth Russia leading for one Mackenzie the country is facing one what a shot in off to score three now score tied a extra Canada with last rock and again facing one to carry us with the take out shooter will come on hanging around how they'll do it Canada wins at 9/8 and now they go on to face Korea County and that's a really big win because Russia that is the defending champion so for Mackenzie and her team they will go on to face Korea that is min ji kim she has played on the women's circuit she will be really tough and you know Vic you might want to know that it's minus four and overcast over there in Russia because I know how much you care about the weather let's go to it man send me now and uh hey Jacques goat Jake Canada against Germany in the second facing one will hit stick and that'll score a couple and Canada sit down jumps up to the lead so now to the eight we go germinating four to three Canada sitting the one with the last draw and it's a really good sweeping here Zach vilaça great and poet and Canada with a couple they now lead it by one so to the tenth look at that what a mess Kathy Canada still up 5-4 but it's Germany with last draw facing three how do you get there and well they can't Canada steals a couple make the fiber seven for Canada and they will now go on to face Switzerland in the final well and that is an upset that is a sudden-death semi final one versus four with Switzerland Scotland Scotland finishing the round robin in first but they were upset by Switzerland and that game begins in 33 minutes you're gonna count it down aren't you you know it well good luck to both Canadian teams from all of us here and as we continue on so Manitoba Wow three in the first three in the third six two they lead at Ontario with last Roth playing the red stones here in four [Music] great little role by Jo Ann that starts this end off to corner double corner guards perfectly placed also Lisa regal you have to give a lot of credit you could hear those two brushers on carry a nurse and lost one they get it went through the guard and you could see Shannon birch was giving it I those two have worked so hard I'm brushing has two skips you know they've owned their positions I talked to Patty about it after they won the provincial championship for Manitoba and she said they've just they have a lot of respect for Kerry they know she's gonna make everything but they've also worked very hard to own the position they play and be the best at it that was a perfect example I mentioned they might be the two best brushes out here and on Tuesday as if it was but to your point he carries really worked on the finesse game how much more confidence but she have sitting in the hack playing a touch shot with that front end Oh good Joe yeah that takes the guard it's a four-point swing three three instead of six two at this point the time team Hallman is 92% they're down for tough League I also think with Kerry to its having you you don't realize it's such a small team curling right you don't realize the impact you have on each other out there I don't know she's always had the team that maybe believed in how she called the game which is fine everybody has different opinions but this team does and that gives her the ability to call build some confidence Rachel's doing what she always does just finds a way to get to she's got that one socked in over in the corner no she'll work away with a freeze try to get an easy two here I want to put in the hole just a touch like I'm talking about Emma's rocks cuz she thought that was a right I sent it over curled significantly even though the weight was probably down a touch you can pick the red Oh with some high speed yeah as long as you yeah they were going to talk about topping it and then that would leave a yellow double so leaving all three yellows in certainly helps it might stop that lighter from going on the scoreboard they still got three hits left Holman no sweetie they're in a little nest here's Columbia has come back with a steal of one so they're within one three two playing how you four you can get a couple good things with this one for home and you can roll behind the corner tap that shot stone back onto that back yellow jams doesn't it mm-hmm I thought they actually got it far enough that it wouldn't but I used to hold a bit with the shooter I like this even if we sit right no I was in toughness to hear you'd love to move that yellow red combo onto the back yellow and get it out of there which brings in that nibbler don't have to do with this shot but it is lined up pretty close wasn't she did she not just say I'll take the red back to the face of the yellow yeah yeah so take that back and freeze they would really optimally like the shooter to roll behind the corner but she said she also didn't mind it just sticking on nose as well there's the catcher the back just didn't curl like the first one I know it was a bit more weight but it doesn't touch this one it looks like it might be I think we have to play it anyway but even if it does touch here we're still shot well as long as it catches one of them I think I didn't go it away I think I'll hit it Northern Ontario leads by two and they are sitting one on the lid final stone to come from Team wildcard and Jennifer Joel well that yellow stone you see at the top of the four is Jennifer's attempted freeze on her first one facing a couple and when it was not made Krista capped it off with the guard so this is the angle off the guard on the outside trying to nut it for two even laws calling line Jocelyn was either Madan McHugh and on the brush from the st. Patel curling club fairly close and not enough it'll be a steal of one Northern Ontario we know our four playoff teams we also know that Jones will be either one or two by virtue of last track draw numbers Terry Anderson and she'll spill it and they are sitting one and two for sure looks like they're sitting even three but you make that roll your red over here I don't know maybe in this area Terry hits it you've got the double for as many as four let's try too hard to get the back one and didn't get out the one they're aiming at sure I'll just just kill that one they hit too thick yes the back one was going where it was going technically a wide-open masa pista did get into the ring [Music] they're so good they Courtney Wiegel just to know jammed and watch it spill and the yellow will go just a little farther so sitting one for sure at the moment is Manitoba that's a stone at the top of the eight foot and about two o'clock second and third you miss CH foot it's a hit for three miss the rings it's a hit for five double for five we talked about the confidence and draw weight well that's it I mean in the past you would be biting your nails I think if you're a Manitoba fan but today carry a nurse and today believes that she can make this should be lost that one on the side sure I'll just hit and stay you're sitting at two and forth and that eliminates a big score it's whatever you're comfortable with really has to be shade slower here it's only the fourth end [Music] Richard Mayer wasted no time didn't they and look at air painters it right up behind them Sweden coming to you're coming out to help are you going to take a pack of words a double its pretty good that was all brushing they get it did he do he do rings let out of her hand so the double is definitely there for something like Rachael genius slighted by there but that goes there it might just stay down stop that a good spot they're not certain but I was really good bashing and heads up by the brush or see that's a teaching point to as a Cheryl the third has time to sit there and survey the situation while the skip sliding down the throat whereas Plan B like they wanted to freeze but that that might have been better than plan a don't think reach was trying to find a way it's too steep to even redirect on without it yeah this is like a third sorry it's like a third to a quarter definitely Kaktovik okay can you get me to like can you get it then enough that you know it doesn't look like it looks like I'm thinking if you could go over the top of that read that back left Redwood County I always go by the 45-degree rule so you have to hit it about there to get it there so where's 45 and that's a boat there and you're running into that red line just not worth it if he can't get a multiple [Music] final stone facing a couple Rachel Holman started the koans and now they got to get by their own top 12 oh and just one read it is [Music] Manitoba still gained control mosaic place we've been here now since last Friday's wild card game on this final night of round-robin play the championship round it will take the grade eight take it down to the fat for starting tomorrow [Music] so just ho-hum usual numbers release aleena ball team really you're playing great just your opponent's not cooperating and it will stop right on the pin didn't want that deep [Music] like that wait call you to always talk about a tap and then the throwers thinking tapping you end up rolling off so just throw it forty line you've got these great brushers and let them take it at the end I'm gonna freeze wouldn't be horrible somebody said light that's not gonna quit get to the bump position boy it's quick down there yeah you don't think it's possible when that stone crosses the hog line or halfway down that they'd even get it to there looked like toffee to me in the yelled five good shot sweet great shot front arrow Wow now you've got me looking at that oh he winds up the stone and she is there by the time yeah all this happen oh it makes me nervous on the peels she does it join Courtney would you ever say to Shannon or try to work with Shannon during the offseason to get rid of that or is it too late no only if it was a problem and it's not I you know we watched her even when she played with giant run to the final and it's if you know how to ice it she as long as she repeats it the same way over and over again which she does I wouldn't do a thing she's done it that way for so long that would take a lot of throwing to ever change it get this lovely yeah take it back don't change that we don't yeah I shot she made a run two ends ago all in the same direction Rose please up that centerline a little tough to draw in the intern that's the only hiccup at this point but the Romans got to be a little careful all of a sudden oh yeah my dear I think it's the most I've ever seen there is it six seven maybe and the games and I we in the games that we've seen you know and there it is Stephanie lot and I think I cut twice and yup games we've done right that's right [Applause] Plan B I can't pick it out so you really just stay it might be better if you picked it clean you probably already you probably got everything and then Rachel goes around the corner [Applause] [Music] and the green lights this time Carolee affect you too because now you want to let it go early and and if you kicked out the same speed you're gonna be heavy yeah that's that's my I meant by being better when valve jammed out it now it Rachel really can't do anything aggressively there's a double to sit to all of a sudden bell Sweeting sitting to watch the team was so it's really nice and you think about these second year for this team and these four former skips and when they won Manitoba Terry Anderson the first thing she says we felt so good for Val because Val when she played in Albert of course lost the final twice so two times silver medalist then last year they tried to get through the wild-card and then they lost a wild-card game so yeah they you mentioned how these four have really banded together now in the second season yeah they very much seemed like a team they support each other also Noah Carrie said she's very relieved not to have to play the wild card so that's most stressful game and she's played it twice yeah right once it worked for her she got to a final and not so much last year it was two years ago that she lost to Jennifer Jones would you hit the left-hand one I think you could because Rachel hits the other one you're laying to do it either way I guess I don't kind of like giving that a go yeah if you just get this trying to hit a third of the yellow goes on to that left hand red and takes out the other red - they're trying to yell a raisin yeah they're trying to yellow onto that left hand red and then taking both reds oh it's probably there but you could lose the shooter even if you make it it'll spin spin up and is it worth the risk three up hit the one they're aiming at the red one in the middle and rolled right there's no double cuz it'll Jam little more yeah the oats running very very straight so you would expect that this should go a bit mm-hmm and they'll leave it there just a little hook well tomorrow is curling day in Canada and he is anvil era one-hour special immediately following approximately five o'clock Eastern Time immediately following our coverage of the three four page playoff Brian hudred Bob weeks will post and we'll have a sit-down interview with John Epping about the upcoming Brier and look at Special Olympics curling so it's curling day tomorrow in Canada and we'll have a special for you hope you'll stay with us right after the 3 4 H playoff don't the shot they wanted but it's a pretty good leave because it forces on terror to make a nice draw into a good spot they're gonna really wide here around the corner guard on the wide side so if they go back eight foot to be a double for three to go top eight there might be a note turn through the hole for double for three so you gonna be pretty precise here we talked all week nice is great out here but remember the one Rachel threw at you try to tip shot in the second and it kind of Dino wide right I'm on the other way this is note a bit further than they've been [Music] all hands on deck here and we're gonna need your help so as they dance around that corner guard and again hey you know you're scouting these two and we've mentioned before there are some really wonderful brushing front ends but I think it's fair to say in in Courtney and Wiegel for Ontario and Richard mayor you've got to the very best in our country can put points on the board how was a game saver that shot you missed the eight foot it's a hit for three to go up six this is why they didn't want to hook these so that they could at least run one or the other back I think it redirects on Twitter doesn't it I think if you know is it yeah a little high side obviously ya don't have to throw a rock ID here either because if it doesn't come off perfect you can troll this is the turn that will run a little straighter [Music] so at the moment is Ontario sitting the one down by three [Music] Terry Anderson pressure on the brush it's all about the line now what do you got oh and she's got it for a single it appears almost pump the yellow far enough it's worth a look come on now make me write thank you there you go so a single for Manitoba it's almost done without multiple points seven three Manitoba leads it midway through [Music] the Scotties Tournament of Hearts is brought to you by New Holland proud sponsor of curling Canada [Music] welcome back to Moose Jaw the Scotties here on this Friday nights you know the split times there on this ice it looks like it's running pretty fast there but it's great to see the fans having a great time at this year's Scotties welcome back to the side mosaic plays bride moods are joined by Bob wig so they got the band back together again Bob and we're excited it is year two of curling day in Canada as we go coast to coast telling some great stories about the Rory game including a visit with a four-time Bryer champion who was hanging out with the Briar tankard and you had a chat as well with John Epping who will be at the Brier in Kingston Ontario this year Sir John Epping is gonna be representing on cheerio but I had a chance to sit down with him recently and talk about his experience as being an openly gay man and also an elite curler obviously the second ranked curler in the world right now in terms of his team we spoke about the reaction of the curling community to his decision to come out and why you came out I can tell you Brian it's one of the more powerful interviews I've ever done it's something really that people will I think find very interesting we're also going up north to Whitehorse they have a bonspiel what five hours east of Whitehorse that's going to be fabulous as well curling and diversity it has been fantastic and we have another story about someone coming over and feeling Canadian because they found their way on the ice didn't ya Paul Hollingsworth has a great story about a woman who was born in India moved to Canada and 20 years after that she got her citizenship but she took up curling recently and she says I never felt more like a Canadian until I started curling and I think a lot of people can relate to that it's a wonderful story about how the face of of curling is really changing from coast to coast and it is a lot harder than it looks and the bar down guys find that out firsthand as well we have a feature on them so just a reminder it is curling day in Canada right after the 3 four-page playoff game and will tee up the 1 two-page playoff game as well and you can join us at 5 p.m. Eastern Time 4 p.m. local time curling day in Canada as our coverage continues as we round-robin play from the Scotties here in Moose Jaw the Scotties Tournament of Hearts is brought to you by Home Hardware here's how by sponge towels nothing absorbs like it and by Tim Hortons the official copy of curling Canada [Music] so cute the chance to he liked those on the ice okay now that is an take up that was terrific let's check the numbers after five and the 7/3 Manitoba leads it there very equal the two skips outstanding Rachel moments at 90% carry a ders in it 93m a miscue with a few because she's at 73% [Music] okay coming around coming around coming around very nice that was a little in turn out turn to jr. yeah wasn't did you see those got it going one way got to go on the other a 7-3 Manitoba leaders welcome back six once again Ontario will have last rock playing the red stones [Music] I think that first three ender you give that to Carrie Anderson beautiful out turn double and then the in the third end the next three ender you give that to the brushers ha ha ha yes at percentages to them for their sweeping on that not to be overlooked a well-played game by Ontario most catchment scored their three in the second but have yet to score anything since and British Columbia is sitting one they are in Korean Browns final stone is a guard in the 12 foot but it came a little bit deep so silver Nagle trying to run with the combination red yellow red yellow and all very nice all that beauty that was giving the crowd something to cheer about here at Mosaic place from the Twin Rivers curling club in North Battleford [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and Brianna Brianna [Applause] breanne mayor with a light brush to drag it up to the corner a couple of corners there on that left side belonging to Ontario if they can ever drag the play over there they do have last row again Lisa Wiegel setting up two corners perfectly oh yeah you gotta go stalling just really has to curl started you yeah let's go now yes nice wait yeah we'll hang around though that's the question and now just spills too far [Music] there we go get your fingers off yeah that's close like clean in a 2-2 tie and it is Prince Edward Island sitting the two so that's what's facing the defending champions Chelsea Kerry Team Canada out of the Glencoe curling club in Calgary well it switched around in one shot Chelsea carry hits a light - on her first but then a good shot by Suzanne bird has left her lying - so this is a draw needs flights four and six as we wrap up play here in this championship pool and unable to defend so you have to go back to 2014 and after Rachel Homan one in thirteen and then one again has Team Canada in 14 back to back that's the last time and that will be for one there and meanwhile Ontario goes to the back four got that back back eight foot even right yeah this wouldn't have been so easy it starts to happen doesn't it you you brush one all the way down you sliver by a guard you bury it there you go I've got nothing back it up with the brushing and the catcher and that will go to so Manitoba still leading the two shooting the two pardon tricky freeze here to get by the red and not over curl and hit the top yellow that's you'd think that would be a lot of room but with the curl maybe not sure you know the other shot I looked at Vic was just play the intern cover on your corner there's a double there on these two yellows so set up for your first point and then deal with the rocks in the middle cuz this is Tom you're still almost on the corner guard right now gotta get off it and here comes that guard and here comes that brushing when here comes that stone top 12 and they'll touch it and there's still a little finish left when it gets to the corner it was I mean they got it back a little bit behind - you lie I heard Rachel in the second end say your rocks are different and it should just mist images miss narrow so maybe there's a bit more curl than the rest of the team and that that's really puzzling because Emma might match for cutters in practice but they don't really know it all the game starts at how they compared to the other six very nice Val Sweeting and that'll be pushed through as well I can't get to it now this is tough because you're going by the yellow turned out over curl this is a spot where one of Emma's over curled and that's when your to the conversation you're talking about where they said those rocks are different one over curled one round stream yeah she's completely free of the rock she touch it with their index finger at all yeah but it's off here and it has me a lot to them don't wish they would have tested about the other one because your van if it was [Applause] less she's really reverse wrote her about oh yeah and and then we said like well if the other team saw it we weren't the featured game though we think if the other team saw it and we weren't over can we throw it and like no it's however it tested but I mean she clearly wasn't over the hog lines if we have TV now she's clearly not oh yeah I think she should read throw it just it's just like they said that they played with that rock and big attitude like it's the problem with the wrong I've never had a hog line violation in my life I think you should go read through it that's nice of the T Manitoba absolutely who offer but it's up to the official and then the ice technicians Oh yes alright well we have a moment let's go over to sheet B and the two other teams that we will see in the final for Northern Ontario wild card and a chance here for a couple for Jennifer Joel no a chance for three for Jennifer really set up by a triple by Caitlyn laws on her second stone Krista not able to make a double on either of hers so nose hit for three I think I'd be able to see that one up there in the yeah I didn't three it is and again we know from the last Rock draw to the button and those drawers are all important throughout the event for the draw in a game they keep although into the distances we know that team wildcard and Jennifer Jones will definitely be in the one two game we just don't know whether we won or two as a kowai technician Dave Murr clinger and the chief umpire I think it's a problem with the body yeah I've been look he's gonna change yeah I guess just how much yeah cuz the other problem - we've seen this before the ice sits and it says and it says that it changes we yes you don't want too long of a delay no you're affecting eight people for that happens yep and the crowd is appreciative of that decision as well and compliments to Manitoba for saying yeah we we think you should agree throw it [Music] so the official will move to the hog line those of you who are watching not old enough this is the way it used to be done but the official used to sit by the board and look across two sheets again just a great carry by Wiegel and Courtney it's such an incredibly tough shot too skinny that top one and stay on I say try to hang around Cheryl there's a little bit dangerous yeah don't you be two notes always sore up to be that yeah it only can help the other team I was home and I'd want rocks and play anywhere well you say quite often for us if you not sure what to do just turn around to look at the scoreboard yes mistake there okay so you're Cheryl you know you're in yeah you want to win of course put yourself into the one two game but win or lose here you're also trying to set your up for what's coming up tomorrow whether you're V in that one two or three four and it's about a focus it's the execution it's all those little things that you want to take forward to tomorrow because you know you're going to be plugging right and in for Manitoba they just came off a loss and that was you know that was difficult to bounce back God's good take some good positive shot making from this game the ice might have changed a little bit you're on another sheet is just the little things of brushers can talk about what the ice changed like at the half there's so many opportunities to keep learning because it really is to learn for that Sammy that final never hurts to send a message to a team that you'll be playing again yeah that's what I always wanted to do is make these guys are in it to go to beat me to go to work at it let them know that we're still in this event and under they go don't think they have any of that rock if anything under curls every time just a little bit straighter than matter for take that spot it's getting straight or tuned as the week goes along so this is a tricky one you only have to move it an inch or two more than that you guys just like back 8 yeah yeah so you thinking like a 14 5 yeah what you've been giving up for time five to fourteen eight that's a nice message where you been giving us all week speaks a lot to how her draw weight has been her feel we've seen her make so many of these just soft touch taps not mid-weight can be hard for two things putting the bird down making sure you don't overthrow it so that's the message they're trying to sand isn't it have you haven't beaten them for a while and up to it did they hold it no they did and they tap it back very very nice like that's just dead on what she wanted [Music] is the is it a double dare I think they're gonna try and play across the face I don't know that the clan the devil you don't think so I don't know it's there they all turn doubles there for sure where do you hit this oh yeah that's what I think so Shane throws before I'll be able to back it off Thanks oh boy this is uh what uh eight eighth to a quarter basically hit it right where that center line is use that as your guide that's pretty close must be a big deuce again this team has played well Roman throwing 91% but all they've been able to generate the three points about holding it up now staying with it got one get it out of there for two brilliant [Music] by the last two shots of e Manitoba and Gary haters into the best that she could do and this is how you're treated for that thank you very much [Music] police you saw there the ice crew has come in it's like a little pit stop and race you coming to change the tires will they came in to change two handles so that should correct any problems well done by everybody well handled by everyone concerned Ontario gets the two and six and now it is Manitoba once again with last Rock they lead by two as we pick up play here in the 70 a 92% Rachel Homan it's one of the best games she's played all week because the degree of difficulty she's had still down to but what a great double really nice tick on brands first one trying to get on the second yeah the way it's going here the Ontario catching up again this would be massive to make this one you could ever get to blank even if you're forced to one in the eighth and you're three up playing nine it's close for us [Music] perfection [Music] it loved to steal if your home and force would be kind of second-best but without any center guards it's those two ticks make a massive difference yeah you saw Rachel sweep that for second red one then stop because she realized wasn't going out so you leave it there so you might be able draw around that that's the only rock we're looking right at Sony rocky could actually hide be in the in the rings this is not the ice this is not the ice unit get any nose hits unless it's really thrown poorly does it run so nice and straight on the hit wave it's a rare combination you can very just put anywhere and the speeds good so it's good for a finesse but the hits run poker straight and it's good for hitting [Applause] Oh a number four line it's great just trying to move it left and right of the center line trying to create a different look for Manitoba [Applause] I know what you're saying if you do it every time it's okay but there's he almost think because she does that it actually would she popped the stone a little bit you know there because it's that this way and then it's a snap release that she wouldn't play with to handle yeah no I it's uncanny how she can throw it straight through I very rarely see her said it lot more players are throwing with a straight handle bringing the rock back dead straight not counter turning it and that's basically what she's doing so that allows you to get it onto the broom better I think but then she counter turns it to throw it like the old-style way she just counter turns it a little later than the rest of us an update for you Northern Ontario up by a couple and they are sitting over the shot rock belongs to team wild starts so what does a foot can they get here well an opportunity after scoring three they give up three right away to Krista McCarville Jennifer tried to play that out turn draw berry on both of her shots both times having good weight and both times not being buried notice how brave I was there wasn't committing to it yeah mr. McArdle and sit down and yes they are three it is three rats now so you get it and you give it right back ten to five so Northern Ontario leads wild cards there that holds that would be a second loss for Jones in our game Manitoba leads Ontario if this holds that would be a second loss for Ontario so you'd have wild card Ontario Manitoba all at two losses which would means they would go to the last Rock draw where the course of the entire event Manitoba would be one wild card - and Ontario three setting up a three four page playoff with Northern Ontario so going into this final draw now this is the way this standings are presently but again if they end the way they the scoreboard sits right now Ontario from they her first would go down basically Manitoba and Ontario would switch places and it would be Manitoba wildcard one - Ontario Northern Ontario three four funny how it unfolds Rachel Homan look like arguably the best team or second best team here all week they're nine and one the curling 90% is a team and they could drop the first a third here comes those white corners trying to sneak this by after Ontario went around very nice controlled wait well just reminder tomorrow is curling day in Canada and we will have a one-hour special for you immediately following that three four page playoff approximately 5:00 p.m. Brian and Bob will be here and they've already mentioned the John effing interview also we will have for you a very special announcement curling Day in Canada tomorrow approximately 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time are immediately following our three four page playoff I wouldn't say straightened up but didn't finish curling as much as they thought just a brilliant shot it was tough to get there as we talked about getting a wee bit straighter around those corners to perfect speed [Music] [Applause] hearing them say Joe and Courtney we got a goal it sounds like wait this isn't a bit of line those are so hard and it will over curls oldie shot stone still belongs to Manitoba just perfect wait on that one is no I think it's whether or not we try and stick around like blankets it's worth a try Cheryl you get a dead-on and go for your blank or sit - you okay with sitting - I guess I'm Rachel freeze is perfect you're not happy the hardest shots yeah you might get three that way yeah yeah I know this is uh this is the seventh and you'd like to take the last Rock to eight I will be wrong with just it I think I just split the Rings there get it dirt but they're actually gonna hit it cuz it's yeah you could draw your shot Rock but your back's gonna hit it's it to try to look second thoughts here [Music] we're gonna go as a pelvic she could just sit too good yeah just draw I mean if they draw the other side what is what does Ontario do probably freeze that move the red one an inch or two and freeze in there so if you're if your other ones closer you get your two I mean getting a couple here yeah you know just to steal an eight to came on no wrong call though the skip coming out in PAL Sweden and he actually apologized you know because once the decision is made you're supposed to just for being let it go it's good that Kerry went back down talked about it sometimes just sitting I thought she was just gonna throw she's like what am i throwing [Applause] [Music] that decision I'll never really hurt you know even just going okay British Columbia sitting two or three three I believe Saskatchewan went around and tried to freeze on top on their first one but she rolled off a little bit and Crimbo unable to remove that stone to lie those two grouped at the back of the for on her second so this is a draw needs the four-foot [Applause] [Applause] well and even by doing this so you've effectively given yourself to hammers to Homans one right there they're really only their only chance to score would be with the hammer chances of stealing but the ticks that are being made it's tough ice played for the plank [Music] Rachel Homan find yourself down by the tube on this final evening of round-robin play championship pool you already know the four teams who will advance the page playoffs starting tomorrow Manitoba trying to lock up first place they can hold on here team wild card Jennifer Jones loses right next door they would have first place Manitoba leads by a couple and they do have from big games by both leads a year just made a lovely tick to open up the center line trying it again now with her second Burchard trying to help this over just enough to touch it overhead touches it on the way by still helps it's off the center line into three in a row vie for that one [Music] gives Ontario a little bit of hope you don't hear it a lot and maybe others do it but that kind of thing I'm impressed with when we talk about all the players and we've noticed you know so I'm Courtney will walk down with the opposing stone just to get a sense of of speed this is a Shannon Burchard but engaged in every shot so there they are miscue and and Wiegel we've got to get the separation cut they I mean they talk about the eventual outcome even as the stocks their stone has come down the ice they do and we watch remember the other game we were watching them Vic and they came down to make sure when Emma and Rachel were talking it they knew exactly where plan a was for the stone where they could be as Plan B they don't stand down at the other end very often they don't get in the way of the conversation but they're there to make sure they do their job and more than once trucks this weekend talking to the coaches and players communication we've got a communicator we've got to let them know yes you know we saw it with Saskatchewan on one occasion the other night wherever and they've their coach said everyone was yelling but nobody was listening yeah that's just that we as coaches you you want your teams to communicate but in that case it kind of was self-inflicted watch they read in the corner the one there doesn't spill in no choice oh you two keep guarding until you make the move go around it you'll barely be shot rock if you're buried it's throwing up one more guard they are just a one a little bit wider than the previous two getting everything out of that again that lengths problem though I'm not sure why they wanted a one I guess if they guard it perfectly it's beneficial would you ever ignore if you're Manitoba Cheryl now you have to rip them do you do okay the high one isn't the issue I think she's an only thing she's concerned about is the jamb tight one that's why they're going high one yeah the jamb is definitely there but who are leaving the dangerous one you could try the double peel here what starts to get concerning for Manitoba is you've been throwing hits for a lot of hounds and you know if Pullman's team can sink something good and you're forced to a draw make sure they're communicating on the paths rachel pointing out front again I like this call you want to give Manitoba the least amount of chances at shot stones so throw one more get them to waste another stone then you go around and cross your fingers [Music] down Oh - it's good nicely done like this your saw ways to steal feel thank you [Applause] now sweetie I know this is the 8th but it has a tenth and kind of feel to it wasn't yes it does at this point in time they're just playing the odds to up keep peeling I assume Rachel's going in now most you'll ever steal as a single you still have control of the game I'm sorry Kathy Northern Ontario leads it by five shot Rock field longs to Northern Ontario with the last coming up for her a jinjo well that biter that you see Krista McCarville made a double on her final stone and left her shots don't guarded so Jennifer has to play off her own hit it on an angle to get shot and hopes to rollers shooter in enough for to angle it back got it and now will that settle in time and old is coming back no it's out there so it's just the one round they go here comes hold it at Ontario and knock it around to sit there top four very nice it's a really good shot they tried to get they tried to not go behind the tea line but get as much separation from this run because it's carry strength like normal this this is eerily similar to the Manitoba game against a wild card where ball card coughed up a four to rip to a Jennifer then played exceptionally well gambled again coughed up before played exceptionally well they curled something like ninety percent and lost badly it's the same kind of situation here team Hallman's played great they ever 91 percent right now and Manitoba is at 89 okay and the score is pretty lopsided Terry Anderson and her first Cheerios hitting the shot stone just peeling the guard they're trying to roll in as it but the key was peel but they're hoping to stay there may be a little less weight what it made some more sense there but the key was get rid of that thing there garter sit - yeah yeah impressive game by both skips really is when you think about it as we mentioned team play 91 for Ontario in depth 89 for Manitoba player numbers were brought to you by New Holland proud sponsor of curling Canada I think I would take the garden yeah I would too just they haven't thrown it we talked about it a few rocks ago Manitoba hasn't thrown draws for a while like we're kind of flirting between these lines here is this way easier that way haven't seen one yeah the hits not that top so you're probably three down we know the line for the you haven't seen the drive I'm not either they're all like keep it there yeah watch it come up okay you're trying to force correct hi Cheryl alright okay so you you've got chalk stone right second shot is back eight why would you try to guard your your shot rock and force them to draw for a single that's what I would play and for a few reasons because Manitoba has been throwing a lot of hits she's a great hitter so the chances of her missing rolling out too far on one of these I don't see it and they've thrown for Ontario that guard probably three four times they know the path the line and Rachel just threw it think you could get a steal out of it are you surprised they're doing this for us yes a little bit a little bit again it's not wrong you've got the force you get a couple the next end you're gonna make it interesting for sure they do nice roll anything high side here is it just as well do 10 hits of steel attempting to throw like a board wait here wait that you can't roll across the top of the second Ontario stone makes this a lot easier then you can cheat on the inside and use that as a catcher I assume that's what they'll do is throw like maybe a ten and a half on eleven don't throw it hard enough so you can hit that and roll across the top of the back red interesting to see if thee the old Carey Anderson comes out here on this throwing a lava weight as she typically did at one time perchik mayor practice that's what all that practice in Gimli but patty vouchered was all about and hack Wade shot to make back eight-five medical that's where we are we're here at Mosaic place on this Friday night winding up the round-robin portion of play this is the championship round we know the four teams that will be in the page playoff starting tomorrow these two teams Manitoba Ontario we know as well Northern Ontario team wildcard Jennifer Jones we just don't know how they're going to settle out yes we do but Northern Ontario will be 4th the team from Thunder Bay and it's so important to get into that one two game yes we do also know that team wild card because of last Rock draw will be one or two I've got second chance you get lets you play loose in that game most certainly gives you a chance to go out there just throw so an update for you six five Saskatchewan leads it after they got the single in eighth and the final stone coming up for BC can loot her in ground and she is a very small area to draw - she made a double on her first leaving herself shot on the lid Robin silver nego came down and is in that area she is not shot that blocks a lot of the area that Corinne would like to draw two for to the Canadian junior champion of 2013 making a first appearance this is an entire rookie team had to come down to their own rubs and just spins off that much there you can see great weights to see the blue band under that yellow stone so a single it is to tie BC that team has been impressive yes we see in Saskatchewan coming in at five losses they were eliminated earlier today with the wind by Northern Ontario Team Canada winding up against Prince Edward Island one two three read final stone this is Prince Edward Island's Suzanne Burt man really challenged to get something going to stand on her final Chelsea hidden stuck and that leaves the three that you see needs four foot [Music] really nice coming around by Johanna now a chance you come down to that top that shot stone top four yeah I lock it on the corner [Music] [Music] one of those days yeah with big ways and try and get both hey yeah I think so does it go under the wait are you thinking I think appeal step make sure this Shirl will it get the other red I think it just might Jam like it'll touch it you think it doesn't dog no not you know obviously a little high cited I think it jams little dead on I think it might double it off good two-for-one nearly touched it hit it thicker so that stone there that Ritz don't still the shot rock belonging to Ontario could come here to come on I think it drags but we could try Berlin no I mean like it's Auto where Val left her shooter is tough for Rachel yes 11 backline just sharp to them to get a soda for here okay they could just kind of hit and roll and sit for though yeah what am I trying to like jumped off knows the top one [Music] I think cuz it's the same thing when mice are often it out this time yeah my call time this is kind of funny cuz it just popped in my mind those daggers there's one guy in the world little remember that that's not good is their coach myself frog he they coughed up that tumor Casey the breyer final right in their heyday when they're about to win three or four in a row yeah you could go around here's good just make it we won't be shot like we won't even be you may not even be fourth shot are we thinking you could go back here yeah I mean we're going for the deuce right and maybe a three yeah so you're coming around just gonna breeze always you're gonna chase her out right you're in a good spot right problem right do you want to move that three back to here they hit and roll no you're you're plugging the double on yours well no it drags like if I didn't roll under this drags in try you might set up a double if you don't get under like these rocks really suck for us right now no drags there and the slash is there they go to mate so she'd come over here that's the thing right you mean you're talking about everything and she says it all sucks for us but until you get it there and they try you don't know that for a fact well the other thing they don't talk about is this you could do that Cheryl not easy but you roll there yeah then you've got access around those rocks that way as because what they're worried about is if they go around this way you know these will drag a little bit towards that so if you open it up little hack wait top and roll buried they're going to be all close together but it's a red raised the only thing with that I would worry about it out rolling enough and leaving a double in the Reds right to kind of run another yeah they're worried already left her shooter is brilliant to because it's I can run that back yes yes you can tap it back I'm not sure two in a row just let you know what about my kid I think they are trying the top and roll buried must be what they're trying thanks house I heard back to wall lemon lemon it lean woman doable then pushing through yep whoa random glass yeah whoa no no please close really close we're hitting it too hard good shot that's what they wanted yeah it kills that stag or at least yeah my first bow mind the chance Chris train does it kill this dagger yeah I really like that call he hit the yellow at the top and or or sit three by hitting the buried one at buried one that's tough hit this yellow I do to get rid of the stagger all right Kathy let's update this game Northern Ontario we know they will finish fourth team wildcard will be in that one two somewhere and this is that they're facing those like to she is she was facing three on her first they called a timeout they elected to try to at the top double she just scattered the rocks got one out and so Jennifer went around but is deep and so eight foot will do four shots yep you're on it you're on it and down to it and that's a single and that's a win for Northern Ontario [Music] 11:6 is the final and so Northern Ontario will finish with a record of eight and three and wild card and Jones will go to nine and two they're gonna have a chance at a deuce at least cuz the ones half buried and this one's going to be totally follow or chase and roll whatever you're seeing great thinking like that 13 I mean I got half of this I think she could see from a hack about me actually if you do ever make this you roll right over underneath yeah you got it again there's a hairless curl now to the coroners wrecking is a better play than flashing [Music] fingers were playing with the handle on the release her first Burchard touch it on the way by maybe a pin double come across how very nice his scent good line tall wonderful brush channa Bertram yeah hey bow on that one really good call girl good call definitely straighter there sir good Oh [Music] [Music] yeah back button now you have to try and manufacture another deuce yes it's got a chance you know 90 but yes keep it close they just saw this with amaz I'll be a fat line wait still gives them a sense of how where they need to put the broom down not quite it says it's makeable here Ankeny because you can hit like half of this little spin see more than a thick huh yeah yeah should have purpose the hard part now if this is made it's you've almost got to play the blank I think Cheryl thank you he's just lying you play the double can you can you amazing make that double and roll over in Manitoba wow that is really good I just figured they'd splash them all out of there yeah nice shot nice force didn't get by by a pile similar line [Music] and of course obviously here for a second time in this one [Applause] and drawing down to it quite as halfback for a single [Applause] [Music] Ontario picks up one but they trail by a couple or the crowd is for a for Saskatchewan in their last game as they pick up a 7-6 win through finish six and five province silver Nagler and the team from the Twin Rivers in North Battleford go out a winner [Music] so Ontario forced to the one for the second time in the game Manitoba playing it very very well doing to them what they how many teams have been able to do and also when he consider the threes put on the board Ontario had been very good defensively not to give up big numbers but they have tonight [Music] we've already had a couple of finals Santa here is the third and it's a win for the defending champions Chelsea Perry and Team Canada as they win 5-3 over Prince Edward Island then both those teams will finished with records of five and six it's funny since you pointed it out I just seen it I gotta watch her get to there [Music] well I'm not least one finish it over him yep gotta go keep going okay just the one game in play three others are over and away it goes eight-six Manitoba leads it as we play in ten lockup first place in a game that really has there's the two I mean you see it one and three that's the difference those threes but when you're talking about the skips look at they've thrown but every player Wiegele 98 Cortney 94 miscue 83 on the other set mayor 87 Burchard 89 sweetie 92 wonderfully played game ladies Cape story brought to you by Tim Hortons the official copy of curling Ken okay well either one we just gotta try not to leave a double team curl 92% and two down coming home without the hammer yeah it just does not happen that's you know it's tough against this hitting team at that 3 the very first three you can look it up both ways team scores a three against you early on a lot of time to come back but the teams playing 92 percent that's tough to come back at even when you are what a great call tickers buried and almost rolled frozen so so smart checking over her shoulder just to make sure watch where this peel goes he can't even peel the towards that red one because it's queued up to jam let's assume they're just playing the straight peeler sweetie good yeah it's better timeout called by Ontario Marcel draw I think they go easy go easy if we just freeze here so we want to protect from this from this one hitting and rolling in right I think one more girl I think one more guard they peel and I think on your last on your they're not gonna leave that there on the last one lay three well or if you think she's gonna do something earlier but you think she's jamming there if she comes after it so you they're gonna have to you just want to guard this one definitely don't want to over girl okay yeah it's hard to hear three two three say mine we can't emphasize enough here how important the game is we already know the team wildcard Jennifer Jones will be one or two but at this point in time we know she'll be in that second game the winner here gets one the loser goes to three that's a big day and it's a big difference huge difference because that three four offers you no second chance game one game winner moves and one leaves I spent all time ercell here sorry there heyyo guarded up he assumed the red peel would be made on the open rock he can sink another one with Rachel's first one and then you've got two buried pretty good I think the peel is pretty good still care I could feel the back ones I think it does yeah that's fine too after that one needs to lock another one in there were drawing against you they didn't look at the back he could actually get that back red one you could play this peel with the other turn I think I'm Val did Russ yeah did somebody say oh yeah she said I could pick the back one that would work that would really work would we need to get him if you get the back one that doesn't bode well for Ontario does it they need a steal of two and Manitoba is yet to give up multiple points if you pick the back when you'd have a wide open hit don't seem to rush up and it's got lots of time I think they've used the time owed either heavily I haven't seen Patrick oh now I should tell they still have 290 second time oats at one point that guy was coming in this way with like I was back for and I was trying to freeze on a rock those two line I mean it just curled up at the end and I ticked and I went right beside it and I thought I was careful and we were about here okay they were gonna hold it here this rage are we like that looks like this looks like minimum we we're just draw like just little time drop button okay edge of four okay that's tight he's got an indication then Cheryl of the ice is straightening up a bit no I think it's an indication maybe of that and also just Rachel's release little straighter nice any other option would be go back eight varied there is a red double but it's a very flat red Rachel Homan her first trying to set something up to force Manitoba maybe to draw against two or three cannot cross it going through and they will they'll hit the hole I think that was just more the brush are looking at or sorry the line color looking at the amount ice and thinking they had to go early but yeah and you know in turn which gives you the most action most spin if you go like that they could actually all fly we know your and then she has to do this she does that then your blog there's no hole no no hit as thin as you can even if you flash this one get the back one Rachel's got a top to sit three and there's an extremely easy double all P it's under pressure extremely easy double from up here really thing to get them all little short around the world around the horn yes first find it now if she can carry Anderson mayor what to back you know she did touch them all [Applause] it's really close for shot I'm not sure great truck little bit thinner very nice though they're from that angle that looks like it is red so it is Ontario that makes the biggest difference in the world there because other what you can't play the shot he would be coming around buried not sitting - and the game would be over so coming around and drawing - what the one of they just behind the tea line back edge of the floor yeah I've got a sink as much as you can and stay in the forefoot all completely buried back there there's not enough space but needs to steal tooth for a time on the right legal on the left sq calling line oh get there don't fly too far and they'll settle down just you couldn't do that hair dot top yellow and they're calling a timeout Darien Krista McCarville Fort William and Thunder Bay will play in that three for tomorrow but who will they play you're still the quick that's the simplest shot just knows your own even a little high site is you don't want to miss it obviously that way it's definitely going to jam but it should kick out of here I would think knows if you're given past that top and you get the back one wholly against hope here now is home and she is Manitoba and Anderson need to just make one to go away oh what a brilliant shot you just plain hit the red one too but yeah skips preference here yeah throw it light can know it final stone for them the wind to finish first [Music] all the way down sweetie calling Ryan you can't hurt it and you'll spin in for one more minute tumble will pick up the win and whip it they'll finish first make the final 9 to 6 [Music] [Music] and so all three of those teams Manitoba Ontario [Music] go finish and nine and to Northern Ontario one game off the pace set at eight and three so it will be Ontario and Northern Ontario in the 3-4 page playoff make a note to p.m. Eastern Time the one two game with the winner how [Music] to win any studies title I think I probably want this one the most and the reasoning is because Thunder Bay is hosting the Scotties next year and I think to be back and be representing Team Canada would be pretty amazing I think for us it's mostly we want to win every game we're in then you want to see how far we can go in the sport and we want to represent Canada and we're excited to get the chance to maybe put that new belief on our backs going for number four but first she'll have to get by Northern Ontario that is the three four page playoff the winner will move on loser
