2019 North American Reptile Breeders Conference Tinley Park, IL

hey what's up everybody I'm here at 2019 na RVC in Tinley Park it's Friday so a lot of the stuff is still getting set up just kind of give you a tour he's got some stuff over here different style Cajun rack systems there is some animals out I'm not going to go through every single one of them right now a lot of all pythons here we got different tortoises Turtles so I'll kind of give you a quick walk through some of the vendors set up just so you guys get an idea of just how big this place is obviously right now not a lot of people here as I mentioned it's still Friday so technically the the whole show hasn't started yet so just a lot of setup a lot of the vendors are coming in getting all the animals set up enclosures so some of the names that I've already seen set up here Ozzy Boyd's over there which will swing by Justin Kim Belka constrictors buck see we got any Rd nerd over here and we'll swing around this way so tomorrow if you guys you know watch some of my previous videos you know that this place is just gonna be jam-packed all these aisles here are going to be filled which is not easy to walk through so I kind of give you guys a kind of tour now that's all getting set up obviously here we got Ozzie Boyd's as always she does have some animals out already which will come back and check out a little bit there he is there so like I mentioned if you've never been here on a Friday especially if you know you're coming in just for the weekend kind of get an idea just how much work and effort goes into setting up a show like this it's not easy especially when you're lugging around a lot of animals and closures and traveling and you know the Chicago weather always doesn't help either and I'll swing back this way and I think Justin Cabela's setup is this way a lot of ball pythons here so tomorrow I'll definitely be getting some more individual shots as always kind of focus on specific animals so freedom breeders set up over here all the track systems mice reptiles over here we got constriction diction I'm a really big fan of just starting to get some animals on packed set out so I kind of swung by this table earlier a lot of cool acid stuff over here which I'll show up later so this whole Middle area here which I just kind of walked around this is all freedom breeder caging rack systems you can see just how massive some of these are awesome awesome rack systems awesome enclosures great lake geckos it more always cool stuff from them glad to see these guys here so a lot of times you know when you come to these shows it's not just reptiles people do bring a lot of neat stuff a lot of artwork books custom-made products so it's really cool it's not just your typical you know reptiles from wall to wall it's obviously different lights the closure styles humidifiers anything that's really need we got Jas reptiles over here there's Justin the belt is set up so basically it's kind of get the same area all the time a lot of work being done here in the middle this is usually like EXO Tara they do a lot of nice stuff over here with their setups different logs and closures all different nice styles of products that they set up so I don't want to get into the middle of these guys tables especially when they're setting up so just kind of a walk through just kind of see how massive this place is so this is the Tinley Park Convention Center it's a really really big convention center and usually if this is packed like I mentioned tomorrow it'll be packed from wall to wall some more rack systems over there getting set up so as I mentioned a lot of cool artwork here which we'll take a look at tomorrow really really cool a lot of detail goes into a lot of these pieces get up shouting exciting - very cool almost look like they're loose they're so realistic we're swinging around this way a couple more vendors just trying to get their signs why I can get a full shot of it so tomorrow when I start recording you'll see just how I'll pack this place kits right now it's kind of easy to walk through obviously this is kind of like a pre-show usually just a lot of vendors VIP a lot of awesome t-shirts here all different types of stuffed animals and I kind of walked out to the lobby you say you guys get an idea of so you can see out there there's still a pretty long line for vendors and whatnot kind of take a walk out here so here's the lobby then it's kind of a bender line still and it goes all the way down here and not a whole lot set up here so back inside got hotbox incubators sea serpents rack systems so if you guys watch my videos in the past I have a few of these style so you kind of see all the different styles of racks here from sea serpents and then they got the hotbox incubators some Zillah products over here did you know the cool thing about these shows is uh you know if you need stuff that's you know for your aquarium for your enclosure any type of habitat shipping supplies light fixtures heating lamps anything this show has everything you can possibly think of or need which is really cool because you know sometimes depending on where you live shipping cost or if you want to see something prior to purchasing this is the place to go stock up on in the now obviously if not able to make it one of the reasons why doing a video just so you guys can feel like you're here at the show with me kind of get a walk through so I kind of make it like you know a POV style going down here I actually haven't been down here yet a lot of stuff still been set up alright so back kind of towards the left side of the Convention Center so in the past you know especially the last video I did I got a lot of comments questions requests so a lot of times you know when people ask to see prices especially on like specific animals not always are the prices listed on the animals so you know just for example like a couple of these you know they they will have the genetics listed out okay they will have prices directly on these what's wrong but like I said not every vendor has the same setup not every vendor list prices so for anyone that's asking about you know prices all the time I can't get prices if the prices aren't on the animal so I do do my best to you know get a shot of the vendor they're sign and they kind of scroll down to get some some video of the animals that way if you're if you're window shopping if you like a specific animal specific genetics specific line anything like that and kind of almost shop from home you know which is what I do a lot of times you know I watch through the video I kind of see who had what contact a specific company individual and it's almost like he has a kind of catalog right at your fingertips so as I mentioned though not every vendor has pricing on the animals [Music] I kind of get a nice overview here [Music] so he style you know acrylic setups you have the person listed here it's very easy to get a total shot price sign really cool swinging around this way [Music] so I do listen to you know you guys out there I appreciate it I try to make this as interactive as possible for everybody but as I mentioned sometimes I just can't get certain things especially if I take a look at nude stuff again they always have awesome stuff so perfect example here I've got the animals listed genetic some of them have prices some don't kind of get a quick shot of some of these now that is that is wicked right there and you know to be honest the most difficult part of filming especially at these shows is not so much of getting in close to get the animals it's really delighting it just plays a lot of tricks in the camera get a lot of glare sometimes so I do try to make it as clear as possible I really like this setup here that there it is really cool kind of has like like a skater style reminds me kind of back to the day move back around this way even I'm chilly really a nice sign here a lot of work went into this one hey I do take a look at some of these blood pythons here [Music] real nice setup displayed ladies makes it super easy there's a walnut - okay awesome loss of variety here so he's nice to see the corn snakes that these shows I mean corn snakes are really cool coming to a ton of different colors patterns relatively inexpensive easy to coop we great hats I mean I remember when I used to start first keeping snakes I had definitely some corn snakes some king snakes all different colubrids so corn snakes king snakes they was kind of hold a a special place I guess we'll check out his table now it's not a lot of people here it's going to be really tough to get here tomorrow if it didn't so if you're familiar with Ozzy specializes in a lot of orange dream super owners dreams it's kind of his uh his big thing so a lot of these snakes that are totally standing out if you can almost spot from down the aisle it's going to have some type of orange dream involved all different logs here it's kind of you know four different enclosures or habitats a lot of times they'll sell a lot of different plants here logs kind of driftwood all different types of coconut you know rough you chip all that you can get here Missouri rodent feed obviously if you watch any of my videos I always load up on this stuff anybody that keeps your greens there owns you know rodents it's kind of a staple obviously you're getting a show a lot of times I'll have it discounted easy just to load up in your car and go no shipping anything like that I'm gonna take walk towards the back area here see what they got set up over here so I kind of mix it up this year video wise Amy that's to me that woman go to my box so I tried something different this year hopefully you guys are enjoying it obviously the walk throughout the pre-show you know last year I didn't do it just thinking about what I wanted to kind of mix up this year that's why I took pictures I swing around the back here and I don't think I was here this is the far wall [Music] hitting the table a really cool setup here rare earth really public to the toilet let's kind of get a couple shots here but all a lot of the lighting is not old setup yet so a lot of these animals are not you know their colors and stuff are not popping out yet just because all the lighting isn't set up yet obviously so swing around the back here some more animals are starting to come out and kind of get a view of some of these [Music] [Music] get us out of this town right this guy's really really nice look at that that guy is gorgeous get a shot of this guy colors that means really really you know they really pop this is without a lot of lighting either I mean that color is just completely wrong tons and tons of gorgeous animals here [Music] these are always really cool these black hat and Pais hunts I love looking at these online and the seem in person just to see how pitch-black the heads are and how the body just totally contrasts everything else so if another one over here female awesome smaller ones here we take it's beautiful Jason to show a lot of ball pythons all doer which will definitely look at tomorrow it's going to stand out these guys ways for now [Music] got the wall get set up there's a really awesome phone but they passed up and in unless their spot knows Brown obviously that wild pattern with the spot knows involved I'm gonna sweep mine this area hopefully you guys enjoy this pre-show let me know what you think what do [Music] raus anybody's guys got a lot of cool stuff set up over here get some tortoises oh he's a favorite of mine these guys are so cute there's something you don't see all the time take a look at this guy there's a really cool one next to him also which we'll take a look at so these are really cool if we've never seen what these bluetongue skills you got one more on the end over here which we'll take a look at some tortoises here but a skink over here get aside these guys a little bit humid in here I don't know if I can get a good shot [Music] [Music] oh yeah take a look at someone who stinks got one facing me see if he feels like sticking his tongue out [Music] obviously crocodile cause of the back there off the cameras picking it up it's got those really rough scales just like just like crocodiles let's move back around here they say a TV so I traded yeah and I got something yeah so I've got two cities what okay I bought a bear [ __ ] yeah it says that I got a pair of bears the spacing he has always locality things yeah so yeah we're gonna have to talk about their paradise yeah in milk several degrees awesome stuff swing back around here [Music] [Music] take a look at this model over here and an FS you're not familiar with it not for sale a lot of times these are just for show sometimes breeders will bring stuff in just kind of get an idea of what makes what you know especially if you're buying a pair or buying some hats they kind of give you an idea of you know what maybe a final product is or something to shoot for with specific animals so anytime you see that that's what it means eres kg these are really nice acrylics singing blades by the clown so in terms that'll walk to you guys I mean that's pretty much from side to side obviously a lot still getting set up tons and tons of stuff that's still being brought in there's literally you know people with carts you know stacked high with with different reptiles there's a really cool one with a spotless cow it's a black razor and you know me I really like the dark stuff so anytime I see something like this Lori's gonna go get it go get the top of it razor stuff is really cool something I'm definitely looking into getting into my collection starting to work with so it's awesome to see it here there's a really cool static combo there you go so I get a good shot here it's another static pet clown on this one okay not yet it's looking all the good stuff the razor stuff is really cool I like that and our yeah I don't see many of them are you so over here so like I said I still a ton of stuff getting on cat give it on display you know call go reptile house looks like they got their sign setup they always have really cool stuff I have a bunch of their hats obviously I don't live too far from these guys so I could I can kind of stop in and pick stuff up if I ever need it they always have a really cool sign and obviously big shout-out to Brian Potter he's one of the main guys that is responsible puts this whole show together so thanks a lot of things for everything that you do really appreciate it see Justin cobalt over here this area is starting to get set up yeah it takes work to get males up check out the sign here so definitely no animals out yet yeah so hope you guys enjoyed the walkthrough here thought I'd try something different this year just to kind of before and after because all my videos in the past I've done as you see on Saturdays and Sundays so once the show is already set up all the animals are out but I want to kind of give you guys kind of a free show a couple of these little guys here [Music] so once again it kind of just gives you an idea of how much effort in and time goes into something like this so just something else to keep in mind if you know you're purchasing something from a specific vendor or individual that a lot of time and effort goes into it if you breed your own stuff have you see you're well aware of how much patience time and dedication it takes especially to produce healthy you know healthy animals like the ones you see here [Music] so as I mentioned you know think of it just like a piece artwork you know you're not just buying the art you're buying the kind of the time the perspective the dedication patience everything that went with it and you know people here and the animals here deserve the same type of respect there's a lot of time and patience and effort that goes into breeding these animals [Music] there's always a favorite of mine obviously nothing set up yet Garrett de Meyer constrictor designs it's not a Wisconsin really really nice guy even though he's a Packers fan really nice guy awesome animals he's one of those guys that'll take time and talk with you about anything answering your questions coming around this way Mike is here and always always excited to see the stuff that he brings a really cool combination here super cinnamon obviously and ghosts awesome combination there's some artwork over here it's kind of get an idea there are some animals outs with Dignity take a look at some of these this is kind of more of a fool lighting so you kind of get an idea of how the lighting really has a passive role and showing off these animals and this is here a super ng Orange Street fire Mojave so just like house kind of mentioned earlier no prices on these new lobbies avails pinkish females and so goes out there about the prices if they don't have them I can't get it it's as simple as that a lot of times like I mentioned the time in the effort so here's an awesome combination I'm gonna have to come back later see how much they're asking for these black pastel or extreme extreme so a lot of times when you see setups like this obviously the individual knows what he is looking to get for the animal and last thing I want to do is is lowball and/or show any type of disrespect you know being a breeder myself I know how much you know it goes into that so is there some olive pythons if I'm not mistaken yep you don't see a lot of these around so these are gorgeous and they get absolutely huge and this is where I got my pastel sugar from years back Chad halter all right so on this side a lot of stuff just getting put up so as I mentioned it's not just all reptiles here that's everything reptile related so books a lot of cool stuff a couple of my boys and nephews bought stuff especially put some of these books here in the past so it's always cool to see you know actually hardcover softcover books especially in a world where everything's kinda online or digital so seeing something like this is always really cool just kind of give you an idea we sleep around this way [Music] - tough getting set up here in terms are on different type of thermostats I would be lighting and once they have this up doing tomorrow this is always really cool it looks like if you didn't have a cap just always neat to see setup a lot more people starting to come in obviously being Friday people getting off work coming up here take a look at some of these teams so one of my favorite snakes is the king snake specifically if you've seen anything I post a Mexican black king snakes are pretty much my favorites I just like how you know durable and versatile the king snakes are obviously they get their name because of it is just awesome I could stay you know look at these guys all being really nice lighting here to pick up the colors there's a nice warm-up Python awesome display here great when you walk in the front door so if you're heading up here or you're gonna be here tomorrow there's a nice high white game here's the gourmet wrote it so you're not familiar they do sell reptiles - not just the rodents so a lot more stuff coming in mark bayley setting up over here now a huge fan of his it's got someone to clean this stuff you'll see see if he's got anything out we can take a peek at - both super Ravens try to stay out of these guys ways where they're setting up Santiago has I'm pretty sure that's all [Music] let's bring back around this way real nice natural style setup here love the LED lighting on the upper lip there I know these guys always bring in too big big animals so obviously nothing out yet but tomorrow definitely get some some shots coming back this way so like I said mark bayley always always awesome stuff let's say at that guy's table all day almost every animal I could convince myself to get some of the real big big guys aren't on display yet so it's roughly about 4 o'clock here this pre-show kind of setup is going to run all the way till 7:00 and then the show tomorrow technically I think the door is open at 10 a.m. and runs till 5:00 I'm gonna try to get here around 7:30 VIP wise they kind of give you this VIP and you know allows you to get in early that's obviously why I'm here now so once again I'm trying to give you guys a full experience anybody that can't make it or you know even if you are here there's always something that maybe you've missed so I tried to give you guys the full experience kind of how I see it and as I mentioned this year I'm kind of doing the pre-show setup and then I'm gonna obviously be here tomorrow when the when the crowds roll in and we'll kind of see how that goes obviously give me some feedback that way in the future that's that's awesome you know the cool thing about the free show not a lot of people so I'm not having to you know to get in anybody's way or or anything like that I can kind of get a good shot of what's out here and at the same time stay out of everybody's way I'm gonna swing back around here so guys get a good glimpse of what I'm looking at here you know I do breed obviously ball pythons but I'm just a reptile fan in general so whether it's [ __ ] as king snakes corn snakes any type of blood pythons hopefully they got some tarantulas up here this time I like it all well obviously I've been been around for quite a while especially with you know reptiles and whatnot but there's always something to learn who's always you know something to pick up on whether it's a new yes they do have the snacks here so this actually gets really really crowded really quick when when people are here all this french toast and whatnot so really cool setup like I mentioned as a nice sugar it's like a sugar orange dream there's a blackhead combination another one here black computer love the blackhead stuff so as I was saying you know just in terms of learning it's kind of a never-ending process there's always something new coming out whether it's you know just with ball python specifically a new morph you know obviously the names are kind of arbitrary but there's always something to learn that's why I love communicating with everybody looking at all different styles of reptiles you guys keep and I follow tons of different accounts on Instagram and YouTube just because it you know I don't have the room to keep them you know different style reptiles I love looking at them I love seeing what you guys share in post and obviously you got to be open-minded and humble that you know you don't know everything because like I said there's always something out there so it's called go reptile house they're getting their acrylics out these all been filled up tomorrow there's got a cool style t-shirt and see which ones they got this year kind of digging the turtle one on the left all different hooks equipment [ __ ] probe set swing around this area yours Erica so he got up here and red foots right neither sighs ah okay oh say about the gripping in terms of you know rotor racks these are you know pretty much top-of-the-line got the water system in there food on tap simply awesome twice my share Hey so I think that's it for now pretty much walk from side to side here hopefully give you guys a good idea of kind of the facility how everything's set up just just how large and how much stuff is here and as I mentioned there's still this place is probably only 30 percent filled there's literally tons of people still outside in line tons of vendors that are not here yet Gus and it's due to the weather it's not always the best weather here in Chicago so just to get an idea there you go you want a Sun gun no one else on the block has yeah alright guys take care they warm up freeze give me one of these right here I like it hurry up how much I'm gonna check I'm sure working yeah yeah brings back looks like I bought her in the Hamburg reptile show 100 years ago see I got there so we're starting to get a lot more set up in the back here so first time I came around here wasn't much in this area so you can obviously see a lot more getting impact here not more coming out in this blade [Music] there might be a marker down try to go right up this field so you around to these couple of some Tigers already spotted should be on the smaller here [Music] [Music] swing back around this way about a cool plants coming up so time I did City pajama he drives to Ohio together oh yeah absolutely I just [Music] yeah really nice lighting here it's really picking up the details and the colors of all these guys dark ones down here neither that is absolutely whatever's out there check them the time when authority said how about between 1 to 5 percent sounds good oh yeah it was never [Music] it's an awesome awesome display with all these animals what are the colors are losing those are those were just awesome animals so five coops over here a lot of these are costly so definitely obviously anything venom try to pick up some of these color on these messes with my camera there we go and the tiny ones it's all from the first time I came around this area not a lot set up obvious you can tell now reptile basics favorite of mine I kind of wrapped them in a lot of videos rodent caging thermostats shipping supplies turn your on the back here see if any of the frogs or anything are set up [Music] sure oh shoot yeah I'm told they're gonna glue confirm that but it's a suspected female and they made a turn it or anything while you're good gorgeous thank you yeah is it a refocus yes very nice [Music] lot of frogs are just getting set up now I can to show you still in a lot of the starter folded boxes so really excited to see them especially the glass frogs those guys are just so cool so every time I kind of do a lap around this place you kind of see more and more that's set up he's actually Chris over there as I mentioned earlier from sea serpents one of the coolest guys around here especially when this company was first getting set up I ordered a lot of stuff from him and he was doing most of the work by himself at the time and it was literally you know I would get responses back within 20 minutes anything that I needed so as I mentioned every time I kind of knew it a laugh here you see more and more stuff getting set up and I'm not gonna get these guys way too much just wanted to give you guys a different you know a different perspective of the show that you might not see kind of see the you know the work that goes into it and by the time I'm back here tomorrow everything will be up out of this play and I'll try to get much footage as I can as always with a zoom in on specific animals try to get a little bit everything seems to be a great variety this year I'm hoping I you know get to check out some spiders especially some transfers some rodent caging so for those that always ask definitely caging up here if you guys need it highly recommended it's good stuff you don't have to worry about it anything like that so yeah as I mentioned guys tried something different this year let and as I mentioned tomorrow this place is going to be jam-packed all the animals should be out you're freaked out really cool stuff over here to make one last quick stop you see a lot of a lot of black pastel red stripe yellow belly Firefly yellow-bellied hide there's a black pastel asset at cloud pastel yellow belly fun so I'm gonna wrap this video up guys as I mentioned it's gonna be real wild tomorrow real busy I get here as early as I can so as I mentioned pre-show I'll be on the fool show tomorrow I'm just gonna kind of blend this all together so I'll make one video out of it we'll just roll right into the Saturday show in the sunday show so you get a free and in full show all in one gonna give you the best experiences I can so I'm gonna head out for now but these guys finish to get an idea of everybody kind of waiting in line here so this is the Far Hall you can just see that people already lining up obviously tons of people still pulling in outside so I just kind of walk through this line here give you guys an example of you know appeal you type of view here so I head all the way into the lobby they'll go inside check out what's set up and the line ends right here and heading into the lobby and two men always has a nice setup here some giveaway bags pamphlets inside education some coupons so there's actually you know the will call slash will call area picked up any tickets badges and then here will head back inside and coming inside here obviously now everything is set up so compared to yesterday this is all just pretty much in boxes and crates and you could see just how nice this display is here by zoo Med crowd starting together and as I mentioned it's only 8:30 so we still have an hour and a half until the actual show starts this here is for VIP and vendors so anybody in here including myself is technically VIP and it's basically you just purchase a pass ahead of time specifically for that morning and yesterday obviously I showed this here she's got this giant albino Burmese if you just see the massive size of these Burmese pythons is to get an ID on both of these typically they pull these out there in the show quite a few people hold them just to get I'm gonna check out these other ones before it gets really busy here [Music] [Music] [Music] and I'll swing around just so it's easier to read these labels [Music] - [Music] and as you can tell a lot of these aisles are starting to get busy people are coming in [Music] [Music] he's early school and I did spot a couple of glass rods over here earlier [Music] one guy back there going at it so I'm gonna head to the back ticking up here can either set up yesterday you have much out take it I know it's gonna be one of the ones guys thank you all right I'll let you get back to me what's one other person I think it's air coolers got some I think he's the only other person at the show I saw the Hat well then again half the vendors when it set up yesterday's truth twenty-nine I knew like blackhead stuff if you got a black definitely tough hatched out looking ready to come into head net enough meals [Music] we test [Music] one of the other awesome you don't see too many yeah all right I'm gonna swing around the back here lot of this wasn't set up yesterday for someone's campaign 40 see Jesus hanging much yo let's go them something I'm starting to constricted wait yeah that's following [Laughter] but pure daily dose yeah Perry fire yeah we're doing a okay so it's starting to get extremely busy here a lot of people with VIP passes are showing up I think we got about a half hour or so before the general admission starts to come in so it's going to get a lot more crowded from this point I'm gonna head to the back area make a quick stop here along the way [Music] [Music] difference from yesterday kind of one of the reasons I wanted to do the pre-show just so get to see the difference here forged all different types of bedding coconut Cypress very cool I'll see if I can make my way back around tricky part is is to find the route set not too crowded so you're not bumping into people or getting in people's way but back towards the entrance so yesterday none of this was set up awesome displays here by Timberline so this is right at the main entrance you can see the lobby from here and back that way was originally where that line started [Music] awesome displays labels are right yes oh no problem this tables got a lot going on a lot of ball pythons they know they can make it it's good to see them showing up if you can see I guess I'm just going to kind of
