okay YouTube I've watched a lot of videos on the Riker starting from January kind of coming up to this now March 28 but I watched a lot of videos on this bike saw the commercial and it really piqued my interest and the reason why I picked it is I Drive a hundred mile well fifty a hundred miles a day commuting back and forth to work and I'm putting forty two thousand dollars a year on my car and I cars you know if you go by your gonna put forty two thousand times at times too and pretty soon you got a car it's only two years old and it's got a hundred thousand miles on it or being close to but the reason why I chose to go with the wrecker much lower price point I got the wrecker Rally Edition and the only reason why I chose the wrecker rally Edition is because the roads here in West Texas are just horrible and I wanted to have beefier rims and beefier tires to stand up to that type of punishment so that's why I made the move to the rally Edition versus the standard edition if I didn't have to worry about the roads as much I just go with the route or the non rally edition real nice bike I bought mine at family power sports on a st. Angelo I'm in the sales business so I was able to work on a really great deal with them folks and they were very responsive and they even delivered the bike to me for free which was great because I had no way to get it back for like two hours away from where I live so I'm not going to go over this and talk about all the little NIT noid stuff that everybody talks about with the little plastics and things I have almost 200 miles on it I've only had it for four days so I'm riding it I'm riding it a lot I'm gonna continue to ride it I hope to do another video where I got a thousand miles on it two thousand miles on it and pretty soon 10,000 or 20,000 miles it's fine if if the comments come in like why would you do that you know I don't really think this is something it's going to be worth a lot of money like a spider or some of their touring bikes but I do feel like it's a great price point for something you can just write every day and I really think that they hit the nail on the head with it from that perspective so I'm just going to get into a few things that happened to me in the first week that I've owned it and put the first 200 miles on it and just talk about a few things in general because the other videos really did help me make my mind decision there's some things that I think that hold people back from jumping on this and I don't know why you'd want to hold back personally I used to ride a Harley and when I made this decision out here though the West Texas winds could be 20 miles an hour sustained 30 mile an hour gusts and if you're on a two-wheel bike you're basically laying on your side and a crosswind trying to hold 55 miles an hour with this I can do 80 miles an hour still get to work the wind still plays hell with you but you don't have to worry about waning like that you just take the beating and hit the road so some of the things that have not happened to me yet I've seen in one video where this starts to rattle and make noise for the air intake coming in has not happened to me yet on the rally edition have not had that issue the drive shaft clunk now what's interesting is for the first two days I didn't actually get the clunk it was on day three that I started getting the clunk and I know that some of the people that have gotten the clog or contacting the dealer to try to find something I'm hoping can a more BRP whoever's going to own responsibility for this will kick out a newsletter of some type saying hey you know that's perfectly normal and that's fine if it's normal I understand being that it's a Sumpter or a CVT transmission and the way everything engages if it's not going to break I don't care but if it's something that they say no this is a fault but we're going to replace them all under a manufacturer warranty then hey that's fine I'm okay with that too overall the bike has held up really really well with the punishing roads out here so I think they did a really good job kind of narrowing it down let's get down to a few other things oh yeah so within the first day there's an orange reflector that goes right here and that blew off in the first day so I was coming home and then I'm straddling winds it just blew right off I took pictures I sent it to the dealer found family power sports at San Angelo a quick response time they're ordering the new part under warranty and they're gonna get me another one so I found that kind of interesting it just blew right off but other than that nothing else has fallen off the bike everything else has been good you can see the right one still fun fully intact didn't make a whole lot of sense why it blew off but how here in West Texas nothing makes a lot of sense anymore okay the biggest thing I can tell you is if you've ridden bikes before is if you get this one of the big advantages is you just don't have to worry about too much I mean you're literally along for the ride you just hit the gas and go and that's it and you have to think quad you can't think street bike because it rides more like a quad not a street bike if you've never ridden one before you're gonna love this thing because you just get on it putting gear and you just go it does get a little squirrely in the wind the wind will get pushing on it pretty hard and you know push that tail in around but it's never gotten out of control it's always just been kind of it pushes it around push it around a little bit and then it just straightens right up and I know if that's just because of the track design or the traction control kicking in one thing I'll tell you is I'm not a small guy I can get up to about 240 on my best day and maybe 220 on my worst day right so I was originally riding us in one with my big bud on here and with the rough roads here this was swinging arm is actually bottoming out and keep hearing a clunk so I now have it on - and on the way to work this morning in the way home it actually didn't didn't hear any clunk so I think - is a good position still keeping it soft without at bottoming out okay let's see there's been a few other things they talked about all the frames hold in place really good the storage man everybody just kind of talks about it in general but I've been able to shove a lot of stuff in there including my like big drink cup that I like to carry and my big Yeti cooler thing and I throw it in there dump the water out throw it in there got my riding gloves in there now but yet I mean great bin and I always forget to lock it have a tendency to push it down and forget to lock it but it's never flown up and my most the time I forgot I didn't lock it it's a real good design on that no other rattles that I've been able to pick up and I'm telling you I'm I got you know 15 years in the service I got a bad back I got bad shoulders bad hip bad knees and that's another reason why this attracted me of the bike is the second I set on this thing with my bad back and hit it was just comfortable and riding it so far for four days an hour two hours a day over some pretty crappy roads out here I've been very comfortable definitely get this backpack or piece on there because I lean against that as I'm riding down the road really comfortable everybody's shown it it holds a lot I got my jacket in there I got the inner liner to my other jacket in there I mean just very handy to have besides having that cargo bin up front ok so one of the things that's kind of a chap on my butt is the fuel mileage so and everybody wants to talk about the fuel mileage there's not a lot on the website right now as of March 20:19 there's just not a lot about it and everybody's just kind of throwing a wag out there saying oh it should be about this it should be about that but so when I bought the bike the first day I got it I didn't change anything on it I just got on it and I wrote it home had a full tank of gas I rode 50 miles by the time I got got too close to my house I had one bar gas left on there I went immediately to the gas station I thought myself I made the worst decision of my life like this thing is only getting like seven miles to the gallon got home got on YouTube remembered oh yeah I'm gonna switch this economy a moon I switch this to economy mode and then it hopped on the bike rode to work 50 miles and the gauge didn't live and I'm gonna show you that now because I did the same thing today the gauge didn't move well when I rode to work there wasn't hardly any wind so later that day driving home 30 mile an hour winds coming home and I burned half a tank of gas coming home so I was like well I should be fine for the next morning so this morning I wrote it in I was 80 75 80 hovering in there going to work and I got 16 miles outside of work and the low fuel light came on it was just ripping through fuel but this morning we had winds at 30 miles an hour sustained gusts in the 35 and I was fighting to keep this thing you know in between the white lines basically it just kept grabbing the grabbing it and grabbing the tail and pushing it so I get to work I fill it up with gas and then tonight I drive home and there's like a barely a 10 mile an hour with 50 mile an hour gusts and this thing didn't burn any gas so it's interesting because the fuel gauge will say like you got 266 miles to the gallon on this tank of gas but I just don't see it I barely made it 155 miles on one take of gas and so it's been a little bit frustrating it's a little bit a little hard to figure out I'm a fairly analytical person and kind of running the numbers in my head I'm like this just doesn't make a whole eye sense but it hasn't turned me off of the bike because I would imagine that it's probably the same on many other bikes spawning differents been a long time since I've been in this situation riding a bike but and in the situation driving it back and forth to work every day as a daily driver I mean I haven't done that and probably a decade so I'm gonna go ahead and hop on it now a lot of the videos will tell you like okay you got to flip the switch press the power button roll it forward put your foot on the brake and then hit the button I'm here to tell you in four days and I'm kind of a disparate quick and haphazardly firing this thing up I flip it on I hit the button roll it forward I already got my foot on the brake and I hit the start button and it fires right up so whatever configuration they're showing you online I don't really think it matters as long as you got your foot on the brake and you rolled the throttle forward hit the switch it's gonna fire up no problem so let's take a look at this gauge so I drove a total of 50 miles today and you can see that on the trip a meter cuz I reset it when I got gas so 50 miles full tank of gas doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me it says 272 miles this tank where yesterday on the way home it was sitting at full bar on the way home it dropped a bar maybe in the first 20 miles and then for the last 20 miles it just dropped bars all the way down and got to half a tank and that was in those 30 mile an hour winds this morning when I went to work again drop 30 it dropped all the way down and then went low fuel I had no bars and I was panicking like man am I gonna make it and I did make it when the low fuel light came on and that low bar disappeared I drove for almost another 15 miles before I hit the gas station so I don't know if this needs to be recalibrated or something and maybe BRP cam can-am whoever's owning this whoever's gonna take over and say hey we'll fix that I think that's something that's gotta be fixed because it's throwing me off I just don't feel like with as much computer control that this thing has that it should be that far off you know the winds really affecting it and cutting it down then it should adjust this no problem fuel stat yeah twenty seven point two so you know it's not great but it's still kind of amazing to go twenty seven point two miles in a 30 mile an hour win but again I don't see why it's ripping through that gas so quickly so but like I said tonight I drove home to him on our win baby gusts in the 15 and it did a really good job let's show you how many miles I got on it so far just so you can see turn that off there you go so I got two hundred and forty-five miles on it so far and that's just in the period of Wednesday Thursday Friday so three days driving it so but so far no problems one thing I would wish would wish or wish they would do is when you're riding and you're bouncing and you're all over the place your arm is going up and down so as you're going up and down you know your speeds going up and down the throttles going up and down I wish they would put a cruise control on here you know look let me set it to 75 and then we're good and then let it just kind of handle itself and they can make it where it defaults where if I roll it forward it kills the cruise control or put it over here where I can just set it set my cruise over here and then when I rolling down the road and doing what I got to do I can just roll the FATA forward and then it just take it out of cruise control because I'm telling you if you're hit you know in a left turn you're going to left turn you're not really ramping on that throttle but if you're in the right turn you'll ramp in on that throttle and next thing you know you go from 70 to 95 yes you will zoom up that quick because it's it's just that responsive even in economy mode it's a it's that responsive so in the beginning I had it in that regular mode and man ripping through gas but you want to set yours up for economy mode if you're gonna use it as a daily driver the mayors are okay I think they could be better they're very easily bumped and knocked out of position but it is what it is I don't think that happens and differently on any bike I kind of like it overall I mean I've just chill back and relax and enjoy my ride home definitely get the the pack and definitely get the windshield you can see right there I'm collecting bugs like you wouldn't believe and that a little bit actually does kind of help help quite a bit when I go down the road I can actually duck behind it when the winds are really bad and then kind of lower that swaying effect of the tail ends I'm going down the road but at almost 250 miles I mean this thing's been awesome and I really just wanted to share the video with other people that might be on the fence thinking about it like man I don't know and I get it I did that for about a week and then I just said you know what I'm doing it I'm doing it I got to do something I got to get the miles off my car I got to start saving on my gas mileage and it's not too big it's not too small it rides really good does it spin the back tire all the time in Eco mode not as much because the throttle is not as quick to respond but even in Eco mode I've made some turns and kind of rolled in the throttle and it busted loose but then the traction control kicks it on and it straightens right up and I mean it's so easy to ride and I really do recommend it for if you're thinking about it so far maybe in another week I might feel different I don't want to but so far I've really really enjoyed it and those are only been a few knit annoyed things that for me I've been a bit confusing especially the gas mileage maybe km will publish something soon and say hey this is kind of what people are averaging and there may be something about that clunk and hey give me a cruise control up on that throttle I would love it I mean even my Harley had a little friction lock here at the bottom to lock the throttle cuz it gets exhausting holding this because when you let off the gas this thing it's like turning on a break this thing will almost stop itself when you let off the gas and that's another reason why I kind of liked it after I wrote it was dude I really have to hit the brakes I can just let off the throttle and coast to a stop barely touch the brake to finish it so you're gonna save on brakes if you're fairly conservative when you ride and I'm pretty conservative but I don't rip it around that much I like corners so I'll rip it around corners but outside of that so this is the wrecker rally edition I think the factors to consider between the normal Riker and the rally edition is what type of service you think you're gonna write on that it's going to be a pretty puppy road situation I would go with the rally edition just because you get the heavier Rams and the heavier I think they call it a medium harness tire or something like that but that way you get the harder tires how to rims so when you're hitting potholes and stuff because you got to remember if you swerve to hit a pothole with that front wheel well your Center wheels aren't there you're going to hit it so you got to try to split the difference between up most of the time between that wheel in the rear wheel and that's just about anything in the road and you have to pay attention to things in the middle of the road because you're used to a car you'll Center up and pass over it so you don't hit it with your wheels well if you do that in this you're going to hit it right dead center so you got to split the difference and make it kind of go right here between the a-frame so that we don't hit the rear wheel but that's just a learning curve hasn't been too hard to figure out a lot of times I get on it and I got my Bluetooth humming over there lots of beer weather stuff fell away I got my Bluetooth helmet over there so I'm listening to my morning show stuff or listening to Pandora and I don't really think about it and then next thing I know I'm running over a rock and I'm like ooh you're supposed to avoid that but it handles it really well how parks retire nothing's gone wrong I think strongly consider it don't sit on if you're thinking harder rez don't sit on the lighter one because that ass and will squat and you'll feel like oh no I can barely you know barely having a suspension definitely look at the rally and you know the interesting thing is about these is that a lot of people will check them out because they think they're cool but they just can't get into it because it's not a traditional bike and I think when not very many dealers have the rally edition on hand so you're getting on this the other standard Reichert and then it just doesn't make you feel comfortable I think getting on the rally would change your mind most certainly all right thanks everybody thanks for the people that I've watched YouTube videos I haven't liked using my other channel from my other business and post a video a long time I think I'm going to do another one of these when I hit 500 miles maybe a thousand I don't know the fire is really going to do anything I'll wait till a thousand and let's see what happens but anybody who's owned one I think you're you're just as happy as I am the gas mileage thing is probably not making you happy if you're using it as a daily driver I'm kind of on the fence right now I wish can't Ann will publish something or say hey we got an update for the computer coming out or something that way I can figure that out 27 miles a gallon isn't really that good but good enough about the same as a full-size at hand Toyota camera my Toyota camera gets 21i miles again and so got to figure it out maybe they'll get it and that clunk clunk would just I'd like to know if it's like hey that's going to be normal once it breaks and don't worry about it or hey we're gonna replace that to make it go away but I think they'll do the right thing I think they'll let everybody know I think they know they hit a really good market and there's gonna be a lot of interest in this probably not so much right now but in the next three to four months as you start hitting out and these reviews are going out people are really gonna start considering these bikes so alright guys enjoy any questions just put them in there I may not be quick to respond but I'd love to share it because I really do enjoy this bike
