and be a star point guard Chris Paul has brought some of his celebrity friends to the lanes here in Houston for some super bowling on this Super Bowl Sunday it'll be serious fun some sport's biggest stars join some of the PBA's best known names to help Chris help others [Music] [Applause] they will see Houston Rockets six-time all-star James Harden Boston Red Sox all-star and Gold Glove winner mookie betts legendary NFL receiver Terrell Owens and of course cp3 himself Houston Rockets 19 time all-star point guard Chris Paul they're just some of the stars here outside of Houston Texas at the Valero Woodlands for the length edition of the State Bar see p3p be a celebrity Invitational presented by gold gold is our host Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul and we're back with you again in new city a new location Chris what's it been like now with your foundation here in Houston and bringing this event here that amazing the city of Houston and have not only welcomed me but daven welcomed my entire family's open arms it's been amazing the city is strong relentless and I'm excited to be here with thee back Chris speaking of strongman I was watching me warming up and you were getting a boatload of wrist in that ball man hooking it gutter to gutter and as a defending champion there's gonna be a little bit of a twist this year for you as we take a look at what happened last year here's another cattle pull strike two he threw in roots here victory with that man Chris Barnes and we talked earlier apparently Norma's giving us some a little bit of some different advice know what Norman's been my rival for the past few years and somebody I'm so grateful for Norma but Norma was telling me to look at the dots and look at the boards and that's something I've never done you know what I mean so I think I'm have to stick to what I know a lot of years out of here right but the first time he told me to do it I actually bowed I threw a strike so well you got a great partner norm Duke and good luck to you guys thanks a lot I appreciate it and of course we've got the doubles coming up right away you're going to see Chris and norm against us rock his teammate James Harden and his partner in the siege a tackler can just crank it as we all know and of course the other semifinal PDW tal back together again against mookie betts and bill O'Neil the winners of that will compete for the big trophy here in the cp3 Invitational the prize and everybody comments but we also have the return of the super class which was a remarkable last year and a very special Baker team event featuring a really strong Houston team speaking of a really strong Houston team CP threes teammate James Harden is standing by with Kimberly Preston that's right I'm down here with James Harden Houston Stars but tonight it's all about the Chris Paul Family Foundation and James this is your first year part of this foundation what's it like to be here cause I'm excited to be a part of it you know especially here in the inner city of Houston with everything that we've been through especially this summer Chris is doing an unbelievable thing of you know bringing charity bringing great news back to the city and so I'm happy to be a part of it and I'm excited to start bowling well you took some practice shots how's your game wasn't very good but uh you know hopefully I'll do better when right therefore dude this is a five frame match by the way so the fifth frame functions as our tenth frame we mentioned the winner gets the trophy that's a heavy piece of trophy and everybody who bowls in this wants to be the one to hold that at the end so as you might guess that's like making you free throws then we'll take a look here at ej tackett 2016 a PBA Player of the Year 9 Tour titles in just 5 years and he's only 25 years old [Applause] he's 25 he's our host Chris Paul negative basketball resume he'll be in Springfield Mass one day after he retires with the Basketball Hall of Fame the strikeout to push his team to victory and he got it with Chris Paul that was over the championship is Chris's son is out there also this is just to get into the championship match and of course each Antakya will have something to say about this it's Chris talking and James Horton jacket yeah that's so you got to get into his head a little bit if you can [Applause] so look he gonna tell us series what was it like being in front of all the pros and all your friends doing that I was super nervous but it was really cool to be able to do something like that I can check it off the bucket list now how do you bring that momentum into today and take home that trophy that's sitting over there I'm not sure we're just gonna I'm a little nervous like I was shooting the 300 so hopefully I can be a difficulty group with cookie beds as good as he is yeah just like mine right so it'll be Paulin Duke bets in O'Neil for the championship a little later on in our show [Applause] right now what the cp3 Invitational regardless of the city we are in is the red carpet and Kimberly Pressler walks that with our stars as well as anybody how's your game uh we don't see what you don't see I told I told tio I've been working I've been hoping lately but you know when the lights come on you just have to show up everybody always thinks that it's fixed for me or not but that's not the case like we I got to get there just like everybody else norm this year you are paired up with Chris Paul so you've actually come in second him twice but now you guys are teammates you're gonna put that all behind you how do you know all these little tidbits it's my job norm is always full of energy great guy and when I heard I was teaming with him I was excited you know I believe in Normie he better bring it today I like bowling it's a nice get-together and stuff but people do it professionally you spoke to norm the the right he owns his own ball he scores he owns a house all from bowling a boil boil pretty often but this is another level this is a lot of professionals here I will see so often so how's your game a month it's a serious competition alright man I've seen sometimes her they just get right up into the other space I love it sometimes you just got to have the front row seat they've been a while since I wanted up until last year and when he wanted I didn't hear the end of it so Mookie's been talking a lot of junk so Mookie Betts did you tell me got a 300 game at the World Series I'll make sure I mention it he cheatin Michu he probably got the bumpers out of something athletes all kind of work the same when you started talking to him you know I get a little rattled maybe I need to start tongues of treasure and maybe try to throw those guys off their game a little bit but III did see Mookie boda 300 as for myself I haven't been on the lane as much I don't know how much Chris has been on the lane obviously he's been playing a lot of basketball and we have anything of that nature but uh you see I've been keeping an eye on everybody it's serious it's competitive and it's just funny because you just never know what's gonna happen I don't Bowl I'm not a regular bowler I know people I could probably put those bumpers up for you if you want don't coddle me don't coddle me how would I learn how will I learn if they don't if you don't throw me in the deep end and we'll see what happens I will not break 100 I'll say it here now I go for the laughs instead of the score am i doing it wrong why do I think this guy could be a better bowler than he is james randi he was among the celebrities in attendance for the inaugural Chris Paul event Judy a yes that's Kevin Durant this is in winston-salem North Carolina that's Chris's hometown for this great fundraiser and Chris could roll it back even then Chris Barnes showing his dumb hops LeBron just overpowering pins as the overpowers players in the great Jason couch and II teamed up with LeBron to take the title over Chris and Chris 214 to 195 however that still bothers Chris Paul he says something for the broad about these high-level guys super competitive team bowling time right now this is going to be the Bolero all-stars mookie betts TL and a DM Logan Harvey to youth bowlers and Sean rash against all Houston athletes witty Professional Bowlers Dino Castillo and DJ Archer he lives very close to the arc home house here today handle the team masters u13 division winner in the Logan was runner-up in you 13 to park your boat son Brandon was competing in Malaysia so off we go a Trevor a reason to get things started just a little bit light before secure Rockets player the goal is keep those pins like they're LA Clippers Trevor's been around a long time in the NBA that's a tribute to mentioned the Masters bowlers here is one of them Hannity Floridian and the keymaster CD girls champion only 13 years old was the youngest forward ever both 300 or Houston strong he's got two of the best trash talkers on their team and Dino Castillo and DJ Archer there will be no trash talked by Dino on after that 12 year professional bowler and he'll just try to take a couple here he'll be back he'll get his chance in the ninth frame again every Boulder gets two frames to bowl in a Baker format which you frequently see if not frequently you see all the time in the collegiate level and we mentioned another team masters participant here is the boys runner-up to the junior varsity 14 and under Logan Harvey's in Titusville Florida and he too has game breaking up a 710 so a little bit of the future of the sport on display here with diem and Harvey those two astronaut hi there on the east coast of Florida and Titusville and he actually had that 7/10 stayed there Randy he's made it before in his life only 14 he has covered a 710 before not gonna have to worry about it here [Applause] now here he is dancing DJ Archer we'll see if you go back to the team competition in Portland expert Randy Peters who is sharing his bowling inside and help a polling ban by sharing a tip the help his or her game person with none other that t/o Randy thanks Dave do you know I've watched your game mature over the years and I thought would be I just thought it would be appropriate if if you would allow me to critique your game in front of a national audience what he said I need all the help that I can get okay let's take a look you don't need a lot of help out so well today yeah but that's okay that's just the way you're playing the lanes but I really love everything you did great swing direction your hands in a beautiful spot and the only thing that I've ever saw when you make mistake it's right there your hand gets around the side of the ball a little earlier than I would like to see okay you can stay and work the inside part of the ball a little bit longer before you rotate around the side your ball is gonna roll better it's gonna read the lane better and it's actually gonna hook a little bit more but it's gonna be a controllable hook because it's gonna read properly that's it today some of those shots that that actually scooted and went a little bit farther right than you wanted that's where your hand gets around the side a little early that's the only thing I see you're obviously a great athlete and you're a great bowler you were keeping your hand underneath it you you rock and we were in practice and we could not none of us were getting a striking he said that's alright when they turn lanes on I'll show up I said me too so here we go well you know what he
