all right it's Dino time with the Ford GT almost had to cancel because it's just nasty rain I think we caught a quick break in the rain for about 20 minutes so I can bring it up to the Dino shop take it to the same place we will be down on the 720's we can get comparable numbers I'm gonna run up there right now [Laughter] [Music] here we go for GT is about to be broken in at that and ready I am there we go 600 miles right on the dyno then race time [Music] all right you've just pulled up to the dyno shop we got Jimmy's McLaren mp4-12c which we're dining as well he got upgraded turbos if you don't members we did a stage one video of this car where we did fab speed exhaust and tuned picked up some good mile an hour in the trout speeds now we're on to stage two where we upgraded the turbos the internals of the turbos and a new tune and we're gonna be dying to see how much power picked up then we're gonna take it to the track for the Ford GT first I know that I've seen online I know I've seen some other people get some numbers for it at least we're at the same diner where I previously downloaded McLaren 720's so we'll get a direct comparison of four GT McLaren 720's to see just how much more power than McLaren makes there is some work to be done though that rear diffuser on the 4 GTS got to come off so we're gonna pull in the garage right now and start working on getting that diffuser off while Jimmy da knows his [Music] it's a very nice setup on here so most of the modern supercars are really a pain to dyno because they got all this arrow diffuser work on the back here so this is probably to take better 40 minutes just to get this bottom diffuser off there's some wires been in there for the backup camera completely carbon under tray that way we can strap it to the dyno [Music] so here we are under the GT with the diffuser off as you can see a lot of carbon bits here here's the standard exhaust not a titanium exhaust you can see the catalytic converters here there's actually four one here and one farther up some really cool brake ducting here for the cooling of the brakes you got an orange flex pipe there connected to this carbon fiber pipe right here cooling those brakes thinking you got some NACA ducts here as well too else we can see in here there so some of the shocks and the suspension work up in here right there got the carbon wheels of course some kind of coolers up here one on each side oil and transmission maybe these are the wires for the backup camera and rear brake light or reverse light rather that's about all we can see you can see the transmission everything's labeled by the VIN probably I swap out this exhaust this is pretty heavy you can swap it out with just a X pipe or an H pipe and drop about 25 pounds so I'm gonna look at didn't that done as well so here's a quick tour the dyno room completely enclosed and air conditioning and they got ventilation in the top as well bunch of fans up here multiple screens four wheel drive or two wheel drive hopefully we don't have to link the rollers on the Ford GT like we did in the McLaren and the clarin was panicking when it didn't see all four wheels rolling but I believe when I was at the Ford GT factory I know they dyno every car before it comes out and they were just doing the rear wheel so I don't think we have a problem what does disable traction control on the GT strap it down and should be able to put down some numbers I looked up the gear ratio the closest one to one ratio is fifth gear so this thing's moving pretty fast and this dyno spinning it pretty hard all right so we got the dyno all strapped down here it's ready to go we're gonna play some bets here on what we think it's gonna make closest without going over wins 589 589 572 572 go 589 we got write this down it's too much to remember now 89 yeah 589 you're gonna go hug me you gotta go night by night okay oh yeah oh one dollar one dollar you said 578 right 75-65 69 578 589 I want to be optimistic but I want to win I'm going 560 560 560 hi how much were you doing 100 bucks each 500 each 500 hundred each let's go yeah alright so good we've got 2,000 bucks on the line yeah show me the cash party time right now 500 bucks closest without going over who's this we got two grand we got alright so here we go we got the two grand I'm bad with the camera around that's it two thousand dollars goes to the winner of the Dino who's gonna hold it hold it there you go alright let's roll the Dino let's what where to go we got two thousand dollars on the line closest without going over I hope I win so uh we're going to do two title falls what is it we average that or just the best number the best I'll get ya the best the best peak power wins a two grand [Applause] [Music] [Music] I don't think we should be from spinning the front wheels alright so I think actually we got a problem with the dyno a little bit nevertheless number 500 not great number but I think we got a prob with that out either way the numbers the numbers maybe the two grand here we go alright so we're just about wrapped up we got the diffuser back on the car I got all the numbers which I'm going to go through later cuz it's really laid out and everybody's tired and we're all leaving so final down results wrap up in a minute alright so I want to do a wrap-up video outside the shop so out a chance to kind of go over the numbers and see what was what the initial results the car the Ford GT on that dyno it was a super flow wind dying and I was complaining a little bit trying to get the power down we had to do a couple things to get a smooth pull and actually the first pool is actually pretty low at 505 horsepower so when we made that initial bet we kind of based it off those numbers actually did make some more numbers or were higher power as you can see in the dinin video we have put a couple people with the fans and blew the air directly into the inner coolers but still a car was pretty hot and it puts out 525 wheel horsepower now that's actually pretty low I kind of expected more trying to compare it against numbers that we've already had on that same dyno Huracan put down a few horsepower less which is rated at 610 horsepower the GT is rated at 647 but still I expected some higher numbers in the 562 575 horsepower range now this ty know also has these correction factors which you can take into account so on this sheet here you can see that you know the 505 run was the first we put some more air in and made 525 and if you want to correct this to John Dynojet numbers it actually made 577 wheel horsepower so I talked to Jason Hefner and he had a GT on his Dyna which is a dyno jet as well and his dyno made about the same about 570 real wheel horsepower his does not link the rollers now if like I wanted to just run the GT in rear-wheel drive mochas it usually on the dyno at the factory it didn't complain about running in that mode because they dyno each car from the factory but when we move the GT around on the rollers on that to try and get the front wheels off it was just still pretty close and I just wasn't comfortable running the car like that so we just ran it spinning all four wheels on the dyno because they linked they linked the two rollers underneath so at the end of the day it's about 525 wheel horsepower I think that's a little low again some cars do better on dinos and they don't complain as much about the heat because there's not a lot of airflow moving over the car so the McLaren 720s is actually one car we down on there before and if you look at those numbers pretty astounding the McLaren just makes a lot more horsepower I'll be it they were on different days and was probably harder when we're in the GT still when you compare these numbers the McLaren is making a solid 160 more horsepower on the same dyno which as you can see in the graph I mean it just makes more power all around it the redline is higher up above a 8,000 rpm the GTS power starts to fall off around 6,000 rpm and red lines about 7,000 rpm but at the end of the day dyno results are just that the results usually use it to measure power and when you're making modifications to the car to see how much power you can pick up so it doesn't really reflect in the real world all the time with how the car really performs that being said we'll get some numbers on the car we got some plans to take the GT out racing I'm gonna bring the old GT out the Huracan oh no and the 720s we've got some roll races coming up in the next twenty and then in the next couple weeks and then when the weather starts to cool off we'll take it out and do some quarter mile numbers to get some you know numbers down the actual quarter-mile and I think we're also gonna hit the half mile with the Ford GT on October up in Ocala so there you go that's the results hope you enjoyed that seeing the GT on the dyno it was kind of a pain getting the diffuser on and off but the
