what's going on guys will commit to Mountain motor swords this time in Roswell for the first ride of the 2017 GSXR 1000 brand new model that just came out this one should be really good let's get aside [Music] all righty ladies and gents the long awaited I've been early slowed this year to get the first revs up but I'm finally getting on the 2017 GSXR 1000 this is not a double our model as a regular model and it does have what is that a Yoshi pipe so things to note so I did like a spec breakdown of this bike it didn't have a battery in it but this is what the tach looks like now let's get this thing cranked though real quick because [Music] oh oh I'm excited okay so we're starting in C mode lowest mode traction control we going to mode button I just press up aw it's okay fair enough what can I go down to good god 10 traction control modes 11 if you consider being off I think you can go off yep so that's so 11 traction control mode Jesus Christ overkill okay we'll stay in C mode how do you wait how do you change the main mode do you just hold the mode button okay you hold the mode button and then you can go ABC will turn that off okay cool see this thing going bom-bom-bom so as far as I got to be honest I'm leaned over a lot more than I kind of then I'm kind of used to on a dickster typically dick sirs aren't you know they don't have as aggressive as a body position as some like an r6 or a CBR does but this would be pretty aggressive you still do have that stereotypical dick sirs you sit lower lower into the seat that stays common here I want to see how oh my god that break sucks ass so as far as height my legs are slightly bent and I cannot I can flat foot it quite easily it's all the good things about the Dickson's that are a super sport that you can that you can flat foot so now is it a five-pin like me and it helps out a lot oh I know that that break is better than that why is it so it's so squishy that almost feels like there's like air in the line or something it because look how much it travels before it engages that's the same I don't remember if earlier jigs or models have it but you know when I rode the 2015 r1 it was like it's got an IMU and all these measuring things that make sure you it calculates how far over you're leaning and all this kind of stuff the dick sirs are now caught up to all that so it should be it's a pretty technologically advanced Viking this I guess not advanced it advanced from last year one very interesting thing that this thing has an easy start assist now if you saw my spec breakdown of this bike I'm like you put easy start assist on a 1000 like why all right so I'll test it when I'm not in traffic is that sounds like a terrible idea but easy start assist basically makes it so it's harder to stall now what easy started says basically is is hey we know you might have a problem stalling the bike so we're going to go ahead and help you with that so hypothetically the bike should be harder to stall it's also very hard to break which is not a good thing I'm happy note the bike is very easy to get into neutral the mirrors are easily adjusted and I think I think they took off the indicators on the meters oh they did they down there that is unfortunate I always like dicks or mirrors because they had like that integrated and now they don't have it anymore I'm sad I let's start off slow because we don't know how to ride oh you helped me paint so one of the things I read on my spec breakdown about this bike is uzuki say that it has more mid-range and low-end torque till I get you going and then obviously has a expected high end torque like all super sports do but I'm interested to get a thing in a different mode and see like when I get on the highway I'm definitely interested in taking that out and if I get another red light I swear to God so I feel like they brake is solid but you just got a it's got a big cushion hey while we're stomp let's get the mode changed we'll put it in B mode [Music] okay BMO significantly different than our fee mode you guys are wondering that is Luke if you're a fan of the wreck bike rebuild series you probably know who Luke is both of them b-mode now feels like a mode so I'm really interested at what a mode is going to feel like I will go ahead and let you guys know don't expect me to change the texture control my first rides are for like your daily use they're not for track use and I really don't think I'm going to be able to feel the different levels of traction control I can complete oh my god what the hell is that whoo I will say that Yoshi pipe is a little it's going to sound terrible as a motorcycle if it's a little too loud for me I kind of grown out of the loud pipes situation I would rather have a like a low deep pipe that makes sense I don't know if it does so in C mode when I started going I didn't really feel like it had that you know new upgraded low-end and mid-range Tori but I put that thing into B mode and I get shocked you know halfway through on the acceleration we're not gonna we're not going to full throttle or anything I just want to get on it a little bit kind of get a feel for it [Music] I were chillin easy start mode okay YUM yeah okay I give that's impressive it's so weird I you know you ride these bikes in and if you ride super sports for long enough you kind of have this kind of expectation where when you're low in the revs you're going to have to you're gonna have to feed it a little bit feed it some gas and eventually the internal it will pick up and start taking you somewhere this is ruin food and I'm in B mode so oh I am excited for a mode in the highway because that should be glorious I really if I get a red light again because I have got to change this into a mode before we get into the highway a little odd that saying is the the blinker it's a little sound weird it's a little too easy to flick it there's not a lot of resistance alright let's get this thing into a mode because we're test it's only for testing I'm a journalist I'm a video journalist that is just trying to remember this motorcycle for everything it can possibly be holy watch I passed the Rev oh my goodness I got to admit man when I first saw the diction alia that looks that looks better than the old ones the more I look at this bike the more I'm camera I don't want to say I'm falling for it but the more I'm getting ok with it I am let down about the mirrors I'm not going to lie I that's kind of a letdown that's one of the things I really liked about dick sirs and what's odd is the r6 just put that on our six has just added the integrated mirrors so it's like Yamaha picked it up and Suzuki dropped it off I don't really I don't really know why they would do that is this adjustable at all no okay so the screen is not adjustable I'm obviously spoiled by the Triumph Street Triple because I think is adjustable and full-color and all that kind of stuff so you can get a catch up my name oh here we go sweet tee' mini Christmas please Jesus Christ don't go please leave me pie thank you sitting in an intersection on his home my goodness hi ladies and gentlemen 2017 jigsaw 1000 are not the double are just a single or calm to get on the highway I'm going to intentionally get really close so I have some room for acceleration best-case scenario I get the yellow light best-case scenario I'm now going to get the yellow light okay that's fine it's fine we'll slow down for the turn don't you do it don't you do it thank you Oh Hyundai Oh Hyundai what are you doing you can't person oh my god dude you can see at a control I was just like oh my god so great it's just calling it one pan like nothing's happening [Music] possession of my I can't do it bro I can't do it that's not a good idea pop hey pop holy and 110 is like so like it was going freaking I don't know 60 in its prime rev range Wow you know I've got my camera now gonna turn here let's hit it all the way off and sig and I want to see what it's like kind of cruising on highways like me this is time of year I'm going down the highway and probably go into work or something like that I don't know if you wouldn't be in a mode probably but I do want to see if I can change the modes while I'm on the fly holding the mode button change it into B mode Oh a hold on I got to hold it probably let go of the throttle hit the throttle on I've done nice ok so it's only a throttle on throttle off by situation here the mode changed on the fly it's necessary man if you can't change the modes on the fly then I really don't think the modes are they have a point you know what I mean like if I can't change them ongoing wins do you think I'm going to change sowhat's plug it into like - pretty good I like to talk in situation our it's not quite as good as that artist a flood that r6 was absolutely in sanity when you touch down there's no air you can kind of feel it a little bit but it isn't me no so when I look like an emote I kind of get that feeling like I got with the Ponte gali the bike does not like chillin when you're in those modes when you're in the faster modes it feels real twitchy and you know if you're at a track it be phenomenal I don't know if it's audible on the GoPro but can you guys hear that like it it's almost like a turbo wine or something like that is a glue it's awesome it's absolutely phenomenal yeah when you're in a mode and you're not getting on it the bike has a real like kind of twitchy like if you let off all the throttle it really hard engine breaks if you give up a lot of really hard accelerates when you're in a B mode it's kind of like the average kinda just riding around doing whatever you can still go balls to the wall but it's really toned down but then I don't know all of this makes sense in describing the power delivery of a bike but when you're in amo you're either on or off and if you're off it doesn't feel good if you're puttering it feels terrible it's pretty interesting because you guys hear me say a lot you know for the majority of how I feel like a bike needs a or B mode it just needs one when you add three a lot of manufacturers the middle modes is kind of I think I can confidently say this is probably the first bike that I've written that I really feel a B mode has a point I feel like I would probably use B mode everywhere except for if it was raining out you see and then I would reserve a mode for mountain and track writing weight-wise is pretty light got to be honest time feels like a 600 does not die repeat does not feel like 1000 1000 again tiny these days though man you gotta watch them they're gonna be tinier than 600 soon because you know science yeah real comfortable going over record without their I'll say this if you're really good at writing a most probably phenomenal I'm not as good of a writer as I need to be to have this like in a mode so I'm going to go ahead and put it in B mode so okay what a B mode I as a writer I press B mode much better than I do the same mode now somebody that I'm excited to see what Rises like I'm not sure of you guys like how much motorcycling stuff you watch but if you're a fan of this bike there's a guy here on YouTube he just always made phenomenal content his name is Medus or mad I don't know it's not like medicine I'll put a link in the description because he just had some big reveal when he got one of these he is one of these foreign guys they have beautiful roads over there and they just ride the out of their motorcycles so if you're looking at this like obviously you're a fan of it you got to check that guy out he's the type of person that will take this thing in hey mood and just a bust crazy highly recommended I'm a big fan babe it's been a big fan of his for a really long time so oh also we got the follow car so what do you guys think about that so I think a lot of you guys know that I'm always trying to upgrade my content and having a follow car with me during a first ride was kind of inevitable and I'm working towards better production value for you guys and keeping a small small group I got my wife dressed at the follow car today but if you gotta play the follow car make sure they destroy that like button and I will try to do my best think indeed always have a follow car during first I select back to the jig just kidding about men I'm not met is so as far as leaning back and forth and you know again this is like kind of daily riding these kind of concern so we're not talking here fans in the mountains or anything but the bike does feel a little heavy getting into a turn good we have push it over but once you get a pushover so solid there is a stability factor that the bike has on the turn so obviously you don't you know it's not ideal for a bike to be hard to turn that's not what a super flickable bikes back and forth but good news about that is when you do lean the bike into a turn you feel stable you feel like it's not going anywhere and I think I would expect that to lead to a more confidence-inspiring ride for me personally that's I feel like that's what would happen you know I look at this red light the mirrors aren't too bad you do uh if you want to see directly behind you've got a chicken wing a little bit I mean they're not that big but I just appreciate that they're easily adjustable so you were to bemoan out I can just chill with one hand on the throttle I let off the throttle no big engine braking I let on the throttle you know it's just like a smooth curve straight into power that's a real rideable mode I like the highlight B mode a lot the a bar just toot with you man way too twitchy would or you do don't know what the hell that was but uh okay you know as I'm writing you're noticing I'm getting used to the break there it still has a lot of play in it but you know I guess you kind of get used to that you can adjust that kind of stuff so not that big of a deal I really like the feeling of this bike in a turn you just you feel like you're not going anywhere you feel like you're on a race track not a race right but you feel like you're on a roller coaster where it's just going to do what it wants to do with your okay you're locked in you know pretty much the best way I could describe that feeling we're on daily rider mode we're not on track mode dismiss man this would be such a good track like oh my gosh all the traction control and if you can have a mode for what it is so as far as the seat does he feels fine you know I don't really have any if the seats kind of neutral to me it's not super soft it's not super hard it's kind of in a good position there's no uncomfortable spots but now the ditch there's always been a more comfortable side of the Supersport because I don't think anybody buys a Super Sport for comfort that would be weird like that just now with those are made for I will note that I'm in 3rd going 40 in B mode and there is a lot of vibration in my throttle hand right now like we're talking like KTM vibrations and you guys can see that in the in the mirrors just really vibrating if I'm throttling up no vibration I wonder if I'm just at like an optimum gear for this like makes it vibrate I wonder what go on to see mode would do Oh wild vibrations even worse goddamn I'm just in a bag yearly throttle up Wow I gave it I'm in a now at a higher Rev I'm going same speed in second gear there is a last vibration about first and just even less vibration interesting okay hold on let's go to third yeah if you've all just biked down it just vibrates a lot I guess that's what it is the hell is that so weird man you know it's nice about a low seating position of a Super Sport on top of being able to fly for the ground I can put my hand on the throttle and I can put my back up right in my hand my arm can actually reach high enough where I can sit upright on the flight because when I'm on the highway I'm often in this position I'm kind of got one hand on the throttle you know I'm headed to the mountains that's two or so hours away and I'm just kind of chilling for a while on the highway it being able to sit upright it's really helpful especially for those long rides I guess 20:17 Suzuki GSXR 1000 we've got the red one here they have a standard model this is the one with ABS and just to note that bike does not come with a Yoshi pipe on it that's aftermarket that mountain load of sorts put on this bike as far as it looks I'm a big fan I think these bikes are going in the right direction I wasn't that big of a fan of a huge front headlight and I'm not a big fan of these I kind of wish they went back old-school too you know the integrated one I love the red obviously we got Brembo brakes up front we got show a big piston front forks we've got a nice shock we got some good stuff the bike has solid stuff and I'm surprised the Brembos don't feel more grabby if the ring kind of reminds me of a Honda or something like that you know it's got the the keyhole here now see this kind of good job Suzuki you know you you have this little pattern then you put this little fake plastic pattern here I mean it's all cheap plastic but like I appreciate just the mental thought that have like some cohesion in there that would make me want to keep that seat so if you're trying to sell seat cows that's probably not a good idea overall looks pretty solid I will say the stock one you guys can look it up online the stock can is an absolute joke the things like about about that big house that wide absolutely terrible obviously you got to get those those blinkers off super quick but it's good to have these little divot in because you can put a blinker inside of there and make it look real slick but yeah guys that's the 2017 GSXR 1000 this thing is interesting you don't see many of these little pipes on on this side on the outside that's pretty cool okay let's get this thing cranked up real quick and before I do I like to always remind you guys if you want to see some hi-def photos here the bike as it actually sounds with a good recorder I do a blog post for every single first ride and some nice sound and I kind of rate the bikes on there so if you want to take that out click the links but for now I'm going to rev the bike up and you'll be able to hear it on a little GoPro audio what the hell was that okay so that was pretty cool I can't laughs I want to have it in the reason I don't mean to keep turning it on and off I wanted in a mode so I can piss this church off as much as possible okay we're in neutral we're not going to touch anything and just nice it basically auto start there's no degree and then again this is the Yoshi exhaust it's not stop one [Music] my god that is like ear-piercing Li loud holy alright guys so that's the rib I'm going to give this any back in vivo day because I do not want it in a mode I am NOT interested in that at all so I guess abs is just always on which it could be a good or a bad thing it depends how bad you want stop alright guys let's get this first render stuff try to lock the rear up oh it's slid a little bit it's lit a lot what that baby is does not work alright so guys final thoughts on the 2017 GSXR 1000 I think mode wise it nails the most a mode is for the track B mode is for your everyday and then C motive if you want to just stay chill or if you want to if it's raining or something like that which absolutely probably the best set of modes of paint on a bike so far so what else the engine feels insanely powerful and that whole like Suzuki modifying the bike to give it more low and mid-range 100% true I can actually feel that like it it kicks in way before I would expect it to you know in writing a super sport and having an expectation for winners should kick in which is solid it makes it makes a super sport more rideable you don't have to ride the out of it to actually feel the power of the bike comfort wise is a pretty if prefer a Super Sport it's pretty comfortable you know it's not going to be something like a naked comfortable but you know it's pretty good I don't I wouldn't mind riding for an extended period of time with this thing it's a little sluggish to get in a turn but once you get in that turn it feels really solid and I'm a really big fan dude I think this is a phenomenal freaking machine on my little five point pixel helmet scale if they give to seem like a 4.5 it's I mean it's up there you know what I mean it's really usable day-to-day it has an insane mode for you know if you are that good of a writer and it just feels like a solid pack it's the only thing I don't like about it is it it feels a little twitchy and vibrating I'm not a I'm not a big fan of that but other than that it's a solid freaking package Oh easy storage this bike does so many things where just doesn't for you it's easy turn on easy start assist it's got abs in case you lock your brakes up they are making this bike ready for any kind of inexperienced rider good on you Suzuki good on you man so the question is who is the bike good for I mean if you're looking for a super sport that's going to be good in a more general sense I would really consider this bike I feel like the type of power it has and the comfort it has it's going to be probably one of your better all-around errs for the Supersport typically I tell you guys if you if you're looking for a Super Sport you either you better do track days or just ride hard on the weekends but this one of those Supersport is I feel like you can actually have this as your only bike and really get by with no problems so I feel like this is a really good like all-rounder bike and guys before I get out of here got to say a massive shout out to my guys over at Mountain Motorsports and Roswell there's the dealer here in North Georgia lets me basically ride whatever motorcycle I want to tell you guys how it is riding it for the first time because a lot of you guys aren't able to you know go out just ride what everybody you want and that way you can kind of help your purchasing decision if you guys enjoyed
