field crushed by a man to the 40 he angles right touchdown baby they fake it and they go right [Applause] just seen it all in this game and from Jacksonville the rivalry does continue Home Depot SEC on CBS brings us the number three team in the country the undefeated Bulldogs of Georgia against the Gators of Florida the smells the tastes the sights and the sounds of the world's largest outdoor reception [Applause] [Music] as we take a look at the SEC standings as those two guys fight it out Georgia controls its own destiny they're perfect at four no Florida having lost two straight at the swamp this could be a season Sabre if they can pick off Georgia this afternoon and we welcome to everybody Brad Nessler along with gary Danielson partner you've seen this one a lot we've seen this story a lot it's a 50-50 crowd it's a border war they don't like each other they've done it 95 times before they can't even agree on the series record you got it it's a unique first game and you got yours the two fan bases our guys sum it up nerves okay Georgia's going oh my god we're not going to blow this and we're not going to blow it to Florida I mean it can't happen this year and the nerves over at Florida is wait a second I how did they get so good we just beat them three years in a row I'm envious of what they're doing both teams are looking at this game as one of those games they want to win back well you know Florida has rained on the Georgia picnic a whole bunch of times the last 25 years can they do it again today and if so if they do it they're gonna have to use the same formula they used a year ago in this football game true freshman starter and it was the defensive line in fact the same for starting defensive linemen for Florida Jefferson sanaya Brian and Clark who totally destroyed this Georgia offense basically in this football game if Georgia can't block him it may look a lot alike last year it was surprising that Georgia couldn't run the football last year now here they are with a freshman quarterback they got to help out Jake from and that was the story going into last year and two guys two special football players that a team that only rushed for 21 yards Nick Chubb and Sony Michelle did not have their type of game came back for this football game can they run it for more can they help out this year's freshman quarterback that's the story of the game Georgia and Florida getting set to do battle it has been another unique week around Florida's football program but more on that third member of our team Allie LaForce Allie there's been a lot of distraction and confusion around this Florida program this week starting on Monday when coach McIlwain said that him his family his coaching staff and the players received death threats the university met with him and he provided no further detail and he has yet to expand on the situation and when he was asked about it later in the week he simply said he regretted bringing up the threats and it was quote a teachable moment on top of that this morning rumors started the squirrel that there was talks of a contract buyout now athletic director scott strickland firmly denied that and I can confirm that Strickland met with McIlwain before the game to assure him that with no conversations between him and McIlwain agent jimmy sexton now we asked coach point-blank we said has this affected the preparation of your team leading into this week and guys he simply said we have to wait to see till kick to figure that out that kick his moments away George you won the toss and deferred Florida will have the football first card or as they'd like to say another Saturday in the SEC it's just like a soap opera this is what we do here Georgia leads the all-time series with the last three and 21 in the last 27 have gone to the Gators what a big guy this is your game this is one that you've never done right can't wait you got it enjoy it all right hot rod let's get it going this one won't be returned out of the back of the end zone so Florida will bring it out to the 25-yard line as we check the chick-fil-a starting lineups and it all starts with Felipe Franks who's had a tough year it's been a struggle Gary just on some of the normal throw and catch type pitch and catch throws you know I visited with Gus Meyer his offensive coordinator on the field before the game I said duck come on what's up why is he gonna take the next step and he said he has to get his feet and his eyes working together he said his feet are going one way and his eyes are going the other way until he figures that out he's gonna struggle there's his offensive corner Gary's talking about Tyree Cleveland back and healthy ciate Luis had a big game a year ago against Georgia including a key touchdown catch first and 15 that's Lewis in motion out of the backfield big data here just stretches it out he goes down John Atkins makes the tackle after a gain of about a yard as we look at the Georgia Bulldog defense Trent Thompson back and he can create some havoc on the defensive front for the dogs [Applause] didn't play a week ago back in there on that front wall we'll check the rest for you on a second down at 13 [Applause] Frank's plenty of times we're always getting out of the hands of his intended receiver right fit for Sun a play that was known to be short of a first down you've got third and long you're making about a six yard pass and you're sticking it in between coverages that's not a lot of reward for a huge risk about a huge risk on that throw Reggie Carter the linebackers a guy that broke it up and apps third and 13 Florida 33% of their third down conversions this year and they hadn't been great especially in long yardage situations like this Frank's got a break on that when that ball could have popped up and gone anywhere [Applause] Frank's pockets collapsing down he goes back at the 15-yard line a Tesla Renzo Carter not a good three and out for the Gators that's for sure you got to tie the coverage to the sack and Georgia's secondary did a great job of not allowing Frank's to look at any clean blue jersey in the secondary anything there no nothing there and then with Trent Thompson now helping on that pass rush Georgia finally scores a sac 32 to Miko Hardman try to weave his way and does for a pretty nice return and it's gonna be great starting field position for Georgia with their offense for the first time today as we take a look at the chick-fil-a starting lot of football dogs and it all starts with their true freshman quarterback Jake Fromm he's been pretty special and you know Brett I just think he's gonna yawn through this game because this stage is not going to be too big for him you play at Notre Dame you come into this game and say listen this Florida defense may be good but I'm not going to be intimidated by this place I played a night game in South Penn I'm just gonna go out here in fall and you saw in that Tennessee game that we did he added the ground game to his repertoire with a couple of touchdown runs first down from the 47 so it slowed the box with a safety twenty yards deep Nick Chubb listen go setback for Georgia [Applause] to carry he's gonna have to really push to get two yards as we look at the rest of the offense for Georgia Javon whims has become a big play wide receiver half of his catches this year been 20 yards or more second down and eight from the forty nine [Applause] blazevich the tight end over on a wing he's gonna be the lead blocker for chapter this time that gets it into Florida territory gonna be third down and about two is Marco Wilson made the stop defensively for the Gators and their defense looks like this the guy that Kirby smart says he was really concerned about was Taemin Briony and a huge game had a huge season really he's a clogging up middle Garrett he actually destroyed the Texas A&M run game and if you turn on the tape from a year ago he did the same thing to the offensive guards for Georgia a year ago deandre Swift's in the dogs backfield first question is this a one dog down here for Georgia in this situation they're led to found throw grow out of the flat to Swift deandre swept down the side add bless his way past one tackler and he's got first in ball Georgia boy what a pretty throw is from crime here pressure right in his face and he fades away watch Chubb capped it off from six yards out return it either bring it out to the 25 for the second offensive possession for the Gators their first snap was a penalty that backed him up set him in the third game they get a three and out they get a sack they're less than the SEC in the sack they get great field position and then on a short throw they get a big gain and that run defense that is old familiar one the best in the country second in this conference just behind Allen stops them again they allow only 82 yards a game on the ground second down an aisle empty backfield philippe francs with four receivers trying to find just one and he's having trouble locating one [Applause] well for Georgia fans these fans they're going okay great coverage not a lot of pass rush but if you're a Florida football player and you're Felipe Franks you're again looking downfield and seeing a discipline zone defense combo unit I mean this is what they do and there's look give you the look of the zone and then they play matchup zone and you take a little shot from David Marshall at the end least he threw it away he's been eating those four sacks earlier in the year another third long for Florida 39 [Applause] play-action Frank's flushed out of the pocket again throws high incomplete intended for Swain in Georgia yes Dominick Sanders he just passed his head coach a couple weeks ago with his 14th career interception mega number 15 on the ricochet well play-action pass on third and long in Georgia had no part of it getting inside was Ledbetter number 13 and in the overthrow thank you very much those safeties have their eyes on the ball a little bit of a tip play Kirby smart used to have interceptions with tip plays like that but it was Ledbetter who got inside of JaJuan Taylor place for Dominic now the all-time interception list up cuts outside nice moves push down and more still on his feet all the way to the 12 I think Florida thought they had him down they didn't yeah they might have had last year's version of Nick Chubb down but not this year's version this guy's got strong legs and he runs through arm tackles they spotted just inside the 14 Chuck gets a breather selling Michelle now one on one all three guys outside no safety help his first carry is going to be a loss nice job by the defensive front of the Gators total blitz looked from Florida had no free safety in the middle of the field at all they were playing man-to-man coverage across the board there's no safety on the field look at that the umpire is the deepest guy in his defense Sonne Michelle hill only had two yards on three carries last year who loses yardage here might have got away facemask they don't call that though and it's second down at 14 [Applause] fires left side gotta catch spawn after is good we told you when we set the lineups Javon whims has had big catches almost half of his catches over 20 yards this year that one was only 17 but it was sensational three play drive in 29 yards covered 121 is all it took for this this one's almost as good as Godwin's catch against Notre Dame Georgia by two touchdown where it's 14 de nodding Georgia [Applause] having played six minutes Gary this is not how Florida want to turn their season around right here well they knew they were playing a better football team there's no doubt you turn on the tape and you watch Georgia play this year from a year ago it looks like a completely different franchise and I thought Florida felt you know we can stop the run here pressure the quarterback and we'll be okay [Applause] already reports when last year the back of the endzone again sir Lord is still looking for a first down here early in the game [Applause] Malik Davis was in the backfield now goes out of the slot to the right his flanks comes back Brandon Powell got hammered by Reggie Carter soon as got his hands on the ball or hammered is the word actually they lost a yard car number 45 looks like obviously a tunnel screen coming back inside nobody even comes close to blocking the linebacker Florida is just floundering trying to find some place to move the ball second and 11 back to the ground game Davis bounces off gets a decent game out of the 30 it's been early miscues by the Gators a false start let a sack on third down and then a turnover on a third or third down pass they are dead with third down and you know that's another story about this Florida team this is their 18th consecutive possession in their own end of the field they are not getting any field position Georgia comes with a blitz access to throw on the run and drops foul and his hands on it couldn't hold it nice job by Felipe Franks he felt the pressure went to the right through a good ball that time Brandon Powell could have helped the team out made that catch it looked a lot more difficult than I think it was Dominic Sanders was not did his hand on it that ball could have been first down could have been a big play nothing big for Florida so far he called hard move back away it's a beauty at the 20 man missed put two three and four degrees nice coverage Donovan Steiner down there the special teams to make the stop [Applause] so this will be the worst starting field position for Georgia Felipe Frank's not having a good opening quarter and Sony Michelle would like to earn something against Florida in three games 15 rushes for 47 total yards he's been shut down by this floor to defense we lost yardage on his first carry [Applause] 74 yards so you're frustrated you've been nicked against these guys there have been no holes you come back for one more year to show Florida what you got and you give them what you got right there what a run what a well blocked play flag football he gains 25 yards let me recalibrate his stats a lot better now yes that one got him close to 3,000 for his career as well think about that 15 447 and three games prior no touchdowns against the Gators and then a 1 well block play we saw with Sony Michelle can do Blankenship's extra point is good the roommates the best friends different kind of cats well in this case dogs but they can both really play 74 yards 11 seconds handled wimbush and Fitzgerald from Mississippi State Notre Dame well with the spread attack so far they decided not to go to here's a quick drill out in the plant hilarious Joey he's one of their young weapons does a nice job to pick up about eight [Applause] Aliza here was a starter at Notre Dame before Kaiser took over after he was injured but he did some nice things like this but so far we haven't seen him play much since the open era against Michigan to Florida [Applause] here's the complete bait Frank's the slit slanted out here in the Wildcat and Tony will take it and go straight to that sideline your quarterbacks gonna throw a block for you out there that's why I wonder why not use ire out there okay because if he played sire and quarterback witches were glorified Wildcat you get Tony as a wide receiver instead of philippe franks and in this offense even though Kundera Stoney played quarterback all spring for Florida and and frankly when we talked to Jim McElwain he said I'm more comfortable with Tony at Wildcat than zyre that's what he told us right yep [Applause] he's gonna get there first first down out at the 39 yard line Malik is number one among freshmen tailbacks in the conference in rushing well interesting look from Georgia that time they brought two secondary players on a blitz from off the slot and that kind of opened up the play they were thinking pass all the way there was Georgia all Georgia end of one in Jacksonville the dogs 21 Gators nothing will return to Jacksonville after this message and a word from your local station [Music] salivating over that first quarter and he had some Gator bites there in that first 15 minutes most against Florida since 1942 in the first quarter as we start quarter number two incomplete intended forked areas Tony is back to start the second quarter partner we've been in this situation we've had zero on one side of the score too many times this year you see some pretty good teams named Alabama and Georgia that's right yeah you know it's a worst-case scenario for Florida they came to this game saying can we get the lead and try to pressure the young quarterback but Florida's only scored 16 first quarter points all year and they put another goose egg in the first quarter now playing from behind the confidence over there on this Georgia team it's gonna be a tough chore for floor to get back in the game and Georgia has had the luxury for the most part all season longer playing with the lead and boy do they have a lead here second down to ten that happen [Applause] and then we talked about the big play and that's impressive you know 80 yards but if you look at the rest of the second half for the Florida offense they ran 26 other plays for 60 63 yards and they only had three first down to the second half it's a struggling offense they need to find a big play who can produce a big play see georgia with 134 yards and two touchdowns on the ground one from Chubb one from Michelle thanks boys Fitzroy good catch for the first down dream Asti so is Gary sip FLOTUS drinking some first hands together and you know look at Philippe Frank's step into that drum step into the rush and of those crazy rules that you can ice the half away without running a plywood but all the plays that were positive in the first half belong to the Georgia Bulldogs they are officially the road team for 34 yards and Georgia 13 times for 19 yards look at the rushing 167 for Georgia and 118 for floor just a completely different football game than it was here at both Nick Chubb and Sheldon Michelle have rushed four touchdowns Jake from only completed two passes but one was a 39 yard swing pass that got him down to first and goal and then threw a touchdown but they only threw four right I mean one of the plans for Florida was could we put some pressure on their young quarterback no they did it last year to Jacob Eason but not even close this year [Applause] kicked off way out of the back of Michelle and chub a big part of it each with a touchdown Felipe Franks again intercepted sacked a couple of times first time shutting out Florida the first half since 1988 and coach Dooley was a head coach and 88 his final year at Georgia spent some time with the coach at the College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday nights and gets it first down to a shot at the end but he picked up about 12 this is what we saw him do against Tennessee gear yeah but this is part of the offense and yes it is a weapon there's no doubt about it and they use it especially in plus territory or on third down scrambles but I your Jim Chaney in Georgia you are thinking you could just run the ball you've proven you could in the first quarter to reality have to resort to trickery or use you your quarterback has to be disappointing to the Georgia offense now back to Chubb pick up the ball David Reese is the first guy there and ends illega a loss of yard this is what I looked at from the floor to defense really block what a complete back I think he reminds me a little bit about the Erie Alvin Kamara had a Tennessee and how well he's doing in the NFL with the Saints [Applause] like a Chips kick Georgia in the first half of the season has had the play of the year and I believe they have the coach of the year in Kirby smart I think I know what the play of the year is for you that was the Notre Dame dish sure because it was so consequential turned that game around the third down one handed catch think about that if that was a field goal that could be Notre Dame undefeated Georgia one loss
