What could be done to make the final 40 seconds more interesting? Obviously an 'onside kick' wouldn't exactly work but it seems like there are virtually no options for a team down 1 with under a minute left to get the disc back in an entertaining way

[Music] the three time a UDL champion Polk Kittredge two time a UDL MVP getting ready to step on the field against Toronto here in Montreal the the rush should have the hometown support Tampa Bay the Toronto has struggled against the Bay Area teams in the past when they have collided Toronto losing to San Jose and Polk Kitteridge in 2014 and 2015 on the Toronto side this rush team enters Chuck with plenty of confidence after what they did to Dallas last night they fell behind by four goals in the first half and then really seized control in your mind how they do it well I think you know they just kept playing their game they didn't beat themselves I saw a team that was that was had good energy that was mentally focused and you know essentially just went out and played their game that you didn't see any pressure on them maybe that's because they were the underdog everybody thought Dallas was gonna win but whatever they did I think coach Coach Reyna has them in a space where they're out there they're in the moment they're ready to play and they're having fun and that's where they really perform their best [Music] marc lloyd will be on defense primarily at the outset today he had three DS in yesterday's game for Toronto but the rush will begin on offense Harris Carol Adrienne Earwood met Burrell Darren Lewis chaplain Quist on the line for saturator San Francisco flamethrowers countering with Lou Dallman Cox Kurt Davis Rasmussen and poet we've wondered since last night what the matchups would be we're about to find out yeah there's so much talent on on these lines today and just so much at stake this is the finals Toronto has been waiting for this moment for years to get another crack at it in front of a Canadian crowd what a moment our game day live show Cassady Rasmussen has matched up with Andrew Carroll a bunch in the past but it was Carroll on defense and Rasmus sent on offense today it's the reverse with Cassidy playing D trying to contain Carroll and cam Harris's first throw easily intercepted by Byron lieu miscommunication with Burrell downfield Burrell going for the deep Harris think it is coming under both of these teams got off the sluggish starts yesterday we'll see if San Francisco could take advantage of the early mistake Dolman wants Kearns and he's got on what a catch by Eli Kern's in an opening break just 35 seconds in [Music] so big statement right off the bat by San Francisco they didn't really earn that turnover but they capitalized there I mean that's a throw that it's easy when it goes up you know Eli doesn't have great size he's got a defender on his back but he stays focused hits it at the peak of his jump and seals the disk off with his back really well played here Lucas Dolman will be one of the primary quarterbacks for San Francisco after a turnover and just giving his playmaker a chance to rise up that's right I mean you know you got the short stall count in the a UDL and if you don't have an obvious reset the stalls at five you might as well just get it to the end zone Eli Kearns initially said he wasn't gonna play the EDL this year but the blender is recruited at midseason Vikernes is one one a udl title bo Kittredge of course has won three and there are five guys on the San Francisco team that are all going for their third titles today Nashville enjoy Marcelo Sanchez Cassidy Rasmussen Greg Cohen and Kevin Cox this is mark Lloyd helped the rush cap a perfect season in their inaugural 2013 campaign Toronto roster today has seven guys who are on that team and Jason Irwin one of the 20 year old fee Tom's easy and powerful march down the wheels a little bit a hairy for a second because take advantage of the fact that Lloyd had the disc in a hostile situation and this is the advantage here of having mark Lloyd on the defensive side if your office is broken you're not entertaining put the defensive group on the field keeping the o-line fresh and ready to go sawed Jeff Powell the mark Lloyd both on the trainer's table during the game yesterday Nelson saw Breton tan married off the veal but so far so good for the rush defense that was experiencing some injuries yesterday and we were excited here at the start of the game to figure out the matchups but there's just so many weapons on the San Francisco side so it might be a possibility that you're gonna see a lot of different changes throughout the game but early on we said egg mask le on beau Kittredge Jackie house on grant Linsley bids for the fake doc to throw one up Linsley then overshoots Sanchez and McKenzie picks it off marci marking Lloyd resets near the sideline he was out of bounds we saw that yesterday almost in the same spot but a foul called interference Jarrett Marin acknowledging the foul good integrity they're starting seven for the San Francisco offense like yesterday Ashland joy soldier lock in Jordan Marcy the three handlers with Mac Taylor Marcelo Sanchez beau Kittredge and grant Lindsley downfield Taylor throws high Marcie keeps it alive and a bad ball into the end zone for Taylor tough catch near the pylon Taylor's an exciting player partially because he puts virtually no touch on any of his throws and also because it's tough letting you can make a play like this one just a bizarre situation he keeps his toes in and somersaults out of bounds heck of a play for Mac you'd have a lot of trust in her receiver to throw it the way Marcie did in that type of space with the velocity well it's just important it's one of those unseen things that goes on all these players throw very hard is really going to turn over but you have to train that way you can't be throwing soft and practice and letting your players just get used to these soft tosses is something that has to be deliberate it's especially important for windy games cut that on the boots ahead of the pylon Mack Taylor with a great grab the San Francisco defense yesterday against Madison struggled in the first half to convert they had so many chances especially early in the game in the first half yesterday the RIC the flamethrowers were over eight on break Kansas the difference in the game was the fact in the second half there were five for five there one for one so far today it's such an interesting team you just never know you just never know what you're gonna get with San Francisco they could they could blow this team out or they could lose by five coreldraw some Huson AHS from the crowd this is bent Burrell he had four goals and four assists yesterday was named Toronto's MVP for the game but an inauspicious start Greg going all alone great cone all alone deep the disc is definitely popping up a little bit I don't know if there's a crosswind or what's causing that Kearns goes over the top and Cox juggles and drops breaks a streak of six straight defensive conversions by the San Francisco d-line but yeah there's some kind of cross breeze seems like a pleasant day but uncharacteristic drop from Harris and then this throw sized up by Antoine Davis Cox throws it turns to the end zone Davis wide open I think the wind is swirling a little bit also there's some nerves out here both these teams really want to win they've been ramping up all year for this game and yeah when you see cam Harris dropping under you know something's going on something's in the water that guy doesn't drop well then we had the mistake early on by Burrell and he's being harassed yesterday he talked about how you didn't think that the other team knew who he was so he wasn't getting a great matchup I remove is a premier handler defender guys gonna be harassing him all day long this is the test we talked about it yesterday can toronto maintain their confidence we Davis house positioning there on that hatch but to make a better effort to get inside Davis there in the course of harder catch contact San Francisco prides itself on having an army of defensive athletes and see Devin Williams Sam canner Mike spear Sawyer Thompson all on the field now with Lucas Dolman Lee or Duvall so another miscommunication downfield Martin able to somehow still make the catch against pressure from Williams I don't think Toronto faces pressure yesterday and they need to adjust sometimes it's hard to calibrate and that's why they're down a couple of breaks stall count was rising Loyd first forced to fire in at Dolman who deflects it away and then it's kept alive but aren't strong dishes to win to the goal [Applause] [Music] so the gods are smiling on Canada right now San Francisco is always hung their hat on their defense you mentioned it even on the old line the bar for speed has gotten so high in San Francisco that pretty much everybody out there is gonna be able to play hard Mandy in the land you see them get get the block they wanted on that play but just great awareness and drunk apoplexy this awesome tomahawk pluck I sent it to where he thought nobody was but Connor Armstrong who himself just turned 20 years old was the 2016 ultimate Canada male athlete of the year captain and Canada - a silver medal at Junior Worlds Conor on the spot here's okay trich marked by Lloyd Linsley harassed by Ian McKenzie there was a pic downfield which will cost an Francisco 10 worth mentioning guys that these two teams did earlier this season on June 17th the final game of the cross coast challenge which was a four-game series of interdivisional play between the top two teams from each division a year ago San Francisco went to Toronto with a short-handed roster and the rush after trailing 9 to 8 at the end of the first quarter took a 16 15 lead into the half and pulled away to win 33 27 Toronto's playing good defense on this possession but San Francisco staying very patient fighting through the double teams all this hassle enjoys break to Bowl Kitteridge that opened it up for Brant Leslie for the easy break sidecut and the score it's just so tough to defend in this case because as a downfield defender you want to trust the mark and you want to have an area to guard you can choose one side appeal the other but when the throws just can go anywhere in the field at any time you don't know where you should be and you start to lose that trust and then on top of that you have all these weapons that are just great even without the normal throwers loose leads incredibly class watch it clock it has a great first step and we all know about bow either Kitteridge nor Lindsley nor cassidy Rasmussen we're in Toronto and when these two teams an attached Audrina basically said look you can throw that game out at me Nene yoke our oka said well we do have familiarity with some of what they want to do yeah I think the big takeaway from that game from San Francisco were one we know we can beat this team because they were able to keep it close without a lot of their best players and two we need to figure out who this Carroll guy is those are the big takeaways Carroll was unbelievable and he was relatively unknown to these San Francisco where's Terrell going deep on Rasmussen and he read it perfectly [Applause] Erol needs a reset and he'll get one with the end zone hammer thompson McKnight Andrew Carroll had six goals and eight assists on June 7th evening in San Francisco he's on the board with time number one here in the finals and look at that he's clap catching it alone totally unbalanced Cassidy Rasmussen not even in the frame and you might think oh well that's because pass me misread it not really that's because of how well Andrew Carroll played that set it up force Cassidy to commit up high and it just you know it's a thrower when you see that you say to yourself alright if he's got a step team next time I'm putting it up and that is exactly what you want to as such a high percentage option Brian you competed against Toronto both you and college club and have walked in through Carroll developed over the past five years how has he grown from four five years ago to now well one of the best offenders in the world - now one of the premier offensive talents that there is and just that speed eventually translated and he just he's so smart he picks really good spaces to go to rent and very nearly got the under Neath Dion Lindsley Tam is really good at guarding the greatest cutters in the entire sport for some reason I mean he gets a clean Dion Dillon for each of them that looked like it should have been in the Honor under to grant Lindsley not a lot of guys getting D's on the under to grant Leslie all goodness Toronto's switching defense may have confused San Francisco just enough now Massa Kelly smooths it for Martin a stall called on Martin and Toronto with their first break opportunity of the day unable to capitalize so delay of game call you may have set his pivot foot in the wrong spot bow Kittredge like Ashlyn and Ashford wants both get rich hang into the air bow elevates it scores four straight years in the championship game we see folk entry to do that three different jerseys San Jose and 2014-2015 last year with Dallas now with the flamethrowers usually beau is known for making typical catches but Martin's nowhere here and as soon as Ashlee joy has this desk it boasts even at all with Martin nobody else in the picture no help defense this is going up yeah I think you know it's fun to see on that turnover you see beau who is not a thrower go pick up the disk quickly and throw it to Ashlyn and then start running towards the end time and that is that is the mentality of a goal scorer that's the mentality folk kitchen says hey there's nobody in front of us where's Ashley here take this I'm gonna go over there these are guys who knows our know each other so well and Ashlyn I mean as a receiver Ashlyn makes you look so good so often puts it right on the spot with touch Toronto back on offense Thompson McKnight was the Russia's leading pastor yesterday but only with 25 completions and it showed Toronto's deaf Brian they had 12 different guys that had at least 10 completions in the game San Francisco are at the Dallas on the other hand only had seven guys with 10 plus completions and it was Kirk Gibson led the Roughnecks with 77 completions Thompson been in Toronto would tell you well historically it just it's it's amazing to look at this Toronto squad because McKnight was the centerpiece of all those set plays he'd be kind of the anchor handler that would help direct traffic and just it shows you the trust they put in to everybody else it's incredibly important like we've talked about so much it helps put Lloyd on defense Isaiah Kelly on defense and those are two big guys that can take away big threats so they put Devin Williams on Andrew Carroll a little more size big athletic bits going away they're gonna try as much as possible San Francisco to solve that puzzle and Burrell shakes three against Pat Bayless Adrian year we found him Burrell had that early mistake and I was really wondering because sometimes you get these these young bucks and they're really confident and you can you feel like they might not be shaken then you had that throwaway right off the bat a couple of good place here he has a hunker Carol for a year yeah I've always felt like when you're you know when there are nerves and I'm not true if there are I'm sure they're a little bit but when there are nerves it's it's always fun to play D or get out run you know the hardest thing to do is like throw difficult great throw against pressure now when your nerves are on [Music] yesterday meanwhile Toronto's backing up San Francisco's walking forward it's like another delay of game the rush not getting set quickly enough hey we've got corporate sponsors here and we need to keep this game moving Jarrett Marin initiates the point Marcy will duck the pain quite a performance from Jordan Marcy there he's a limbo contest extraordinaire yeah he's he's a guy you lookin at me looks you know he looks like he's in high school or something he roasts you in every facet of the game high school kids today a pretty impressive yeah you got a smart mouth on him I'll tell you that Stanford taught Ashland joy over to Marcelo Sanchez there's kids read sure handed marked by massive Kelly now to Lindsley and so the experience and the double-team some kind of sneaks the backhand through to Kittredge - well time double bye Massa Kelly and they are really bothering grant Leslie he's a guy is used to more or less getting what he wants on offense Lindsley throws it cash locket picked off by Mike McKenzie and I think this defense is in grant Leslie's head he's not getting the easy under as he likes but he gets the disc he's looking flustered with all the pressure the last goal possession San Francisco Aaron shooting it for Mike McKenzie accelerating away from Sanchez [Applause] [Music] that was a pretty bro that was outside in really didn't float much put it great where he needed it Marcelo cheese is very fast had a good read on it really only needed to close a couple steps but just throw it too good watch it just drop right in see how good of a scientist in Toronto that Aaron Mackenzie is in early connection oh I was just about to say that San Francisco has brought the defense when they had the turnover and that was you could see it on a couple of great chances earlier that Toronto had and so we're starting to fear that maybe that San Francisco's all I was just gonna computer the whole than finally hear this patented safety cat I the safety release valve yeah Garrett Marin he's a guy you do eat here not enough about he's great with his polls and then on a turnover when you have a lefty that throw it that long it's so tough it really is it just changes it's changed the game by just a little bit defense is a little bit harder it makes it much easier to get the turnover and then the score Marin in his fourth a UDL sees that he joined the team right after they won the title in 2013 it's been a championship weekend every single year as joy again looks for Kitteridge and he'll beat mark deep for the second time to the quarter [Music] hey real quick coach Reina you might want us to switch someone else onto both pitchers justify well they had massive Kelly on them in the last possession the partners getting toasted and this is just too easy this is kind of like game planning 101 for a team with both joy and Kitteridge enjoy get the disk you're scared scan the field we're gonna help off and we're kittredges especially on the opening section of the bowl like it's easy sport why Dallas they're stars well I think they did for early on but they were throwing these goofy non flop passes that were a the receivers were miss reading and B sometimes they just weren't like good and after a while kind of everybody shuts down it looked like in Mikkel who's normally gonna continue to take those sub chances stopped because he had lloyd on him boy just put a really good Margaret big guy yeah you know we talked about that mark did a great job bothering Nichols throws but also he had three throws that went up they weren't great throws but his receivers didn't come down with any of them you know it's like hey help me out here you want to throw to you next time or not like go get that Geist some of that onus is on the receivers we're gonna give you the ball we need you to make a play as someone who is a primary handler it's always the receivers always the receivers well especially the older you get yes they're younger than you they better catch it if they want to see the dish the game is home pick call down field to Auto retreats ten young from kasi back on Carroll here now they switch with Cohen chasing Carol from behind I think you need a little size on Carol a guy like Cohen kind of makes sense but he's got he's got some length Armstrong struggle to get the reset but beat the stall back to McKnight it's Burrell double-team comes on Yearwood reset for link list break Mandy downfield so far from San Francisco nice break there's link was just moving the disc around and releasing it whenever it's appropriate and camp Harris with another error not sure Yearwood knew that was to him looked like he thought maybe there was a receiver in the in the background there you like currents quarterbacks the D lines possession under a minute to play in the opening quarter : launching currents chased by your would Eli's got another one two goals one assists in the first quarter for you like current title game Eli's is one of those who's those natural towns I mean look at how relaxed this guy looks he always looks that way he always looked I mean even this year he's like I got a play now I probably won't play I guess I'll play you like joins midseason and I was one of the best players in the finals and that's you know it just all comes so easy to him I remember seeing him when he was in high school in Alameda County and he's grown every part of his physique has grown except for his ears he really grew into his ears but even back then he was just a guy had all the skills he was it like a junior in high school great brakes really good head on his horse great cuts was really discipline learning the game I mean he was he was a sponge he would ask you all these questions how do you setup this how do you get your breaks up when I'm cutting loose maybe looking at and all that work has paid off he's just one of those guys that puts it together flawlessly and this weekend it looks like he's just kind of loving the game being play and really loose throwing hammers all over the place it's just so dynamic it's a game changer on the defensive line and Francisco has a two goal lead and the flan throwers will receive to start the second quarter and they've got another chance to break after Brenton tans throwing error 25 seconds to go Dolman end zone got it Lior jabal makes it 85 San Francisco 21 seconds in the quarter the tan had the right idea here on the turnover he's got the space to throw it it's just an easy throw away and then from right off the start this is the trouble with goal line defense everybody kind of comes up and they get beat by the aisle pass that quick leg is should I get worried about on the bar you gotta trust your down to reset to take away that shot you can't give up the easy around it's like thrown up and throw it at ease dump her goal yeah if you're gonna get beat might as well be 50 mile-per-hour I up the middle it's they've been you know compared to yesterday when they were over eight in the first half it's a whole different story now great poll with just 20 seconds to go for Toronto Lloyd to Armstrong with 14 Lindquist nobody throws leg linguistic he's unique in that for sure link whist with three seconds gets it off Carroll surrounded by white jerseys and it floats over everybody [Applause] nobody throws like linguist I love the shape of that mrs. Weatherly gives his receivers a nice look at it this come this is something we talked about a lot of teams don't practice these situations that often but you don't want both guys going up and that's what San Francisco did two guys right in the area they both try to catch it and you need to play it as a team you need one guy to go up in one guy to seal off the backside I think you can see Cohan and Bo it's the right way you got to have the trail on any Hospital path there any Hail Mary attempt somebody in offenses defender read the play and Chuck's right that's the flow and opportunity there it's a free is a free point Francisco will get the disk start the second San Francisco with four breaks in the first but the rush was the positive vibes as Pharrell catches one and two buzzer eighty-six done with one in Montreal early recognition is critical in just middle school PE classes about Ultimate Frisbee and cancer symptom Elias we're a registered nonprofit that advocates for an active healthy lifestyle body awareness and speaking up as something is wrong skills and when it comes to cancer can help save a life ultimate is a fast-paced team support as self refereed non-contact not in your area yet we'll save you our clinic antibiotics or we give you the resources to run your own and we want to work with you and your school [Music] we have an important and impressive streak Toronto has scored the final goal in all five quarters they have played they had four goals to close out the quarters yesterday Bryan won the game by three and that's some Dallas really lamented after the game it's one of those things that well it only happens four times game so let's not worry about it too much but it's an important part of the game plan it's like the special team see revolts meant you have to be ready for it and not enough teams put enough stock into it ironically Sachin Rana said we could always terrible with buzzer beaters and yet for championship weekend against some of the best buzzer beating genius Malik Alice in San Francisco in the rush have done a fantastic job and yet they trail by 2 this is the the deficit they had early in the second quarter yesterday they were down seven four after one and they got the first goal to begin the second to make it 75 San Francisco back on offense Joyce Lockett Marcie Taylor Kittredge Linsley and Sanchez lloyd come in a double forcing the dump just trying to get it out of Ashland's hands smart move you have to do that that's just 101 against the team with Ashland it's make somebody else beat you Mike McKenzie got his hand on the disk no call from the officials Martin another throw away for Jonathan Martin lay out deep the flocking man Marcellus inches not happy about that no call there it's an interesting situation he's kind of throwing into the defender it's never 100% clear on when that contact becomes a foul one thing we've seen San Francisco do well is stro fakes me whether it's grant or Ashlyn or Mac Taylor they wind up you think it's going up then they holster here's one that's going up from joy Taylor on the receiving end pretty hey they are torching Jonathan another tough day in the office for him when they see that matchup I mean the problem is he's guarding Bo and he's guarding Mac Taylor these are these are guys you cannot play even with her under especially not with drawers like like Ashlyn when Ashlyn sees that matchup sees the whites of the eyes of Mac Taylor just says all right we're going third assist for Ashlyn joy who was the MVP of the title being two years ago for the spiders maybe in Toronto in the semies that year and then got the better of Madison the final you got to go straight us to in that throw you know one of the things when you play a San Francisco team you cannot afford to go with a standard force you have to go flat until they're out of hucking range or rather closer to the end zone and just you're giving them free money why Harris wants Carroll he accelerates away from Rasmussen and milk it into the end zone Burrell Deerwood [Applause] thanks Toronto 21 seconds to respond so the only matchup I've seen that I suppose break cone did all right but you know the only match I've ever seen that has bothered Carol a little bit as is Devin Williams so far he seems very comfortable and the deep shot has just been with a guy like cam Harris he steps around the markets a nice look at that down the line and easy completion suppose to muzzle that Cisco has not solved incredibly still be in it and the more they hang around the more the confidence of the young guys is going to pick up but they have to get that first break they have to get that exciting play that they've already gotten one of them but it just hasn't looked great they haven't been able to work it down the field offensively cam Harris has been shaky I saw Ben Burrell with the early throw away and San Francisco has taken advantage a great percentage on their break chances Kittridge just a cross midfield to Linsley and the offense looks so smooth right now from San Francisco these seven got plenty of reps yesterday and certainly you're gaining confidence Linsley shoppers in that whole point nobody probably helped a district more than two or three seconds that's what happens when you start reacting you hit a couple of those hey you think about the difference between that and you know the game San Francisco had against Madison yesterday they weren't hitting the deep shot Madison's defense is kind of designed to stifle anyway and just slowly gets shallower and shallower and shallower until so every reset is a nightmare all year around there's poachers in the lanes there's nothing to look at start hitting those over the tops and those deep shots put some beer in the hearts of the defenders first score of the game for Seoul I mean Joe Lockett go socket I like that [Music] as pressure from Williams on Carroll that time in the end zone prevented the quick look and now they're sending Burrell Paulus defensively lingering and it's Parral that rises up for the catch Wow Carol delink twist we're gonna grab by morale yeah but malice Bayless plates so well the under his defense like bourbon using positions the deeps I'm in a mist setting my god do everything right the game is Morello I didn't think I thought he was done I thought they'd laugh at me there's a guy coming up the backside of Morel does a great job of locks me out maintaining position this is good defense this is very good defense everything but the block hey what's the money got a hand on at the same time to member else were 38 goals last year playing with a bang Cooper Riptide out of the University of Victoria making up catches around the Enzo one of his riptide coaches last year said that Morel reminded them of a young and columns for the viewers who's Andy Collins is a strong receiver and Vancouver for a long time of course one of the fiercest players to come out of that old school thank you to program not the smoothest possession but it ends up with Marcelo Sanchez opened by 20 yards and 16 seconds San Francisco strikes I think the last two points have been a good illustration of how hard it is to generate turns on defense you know I mean both of these points for the defensive team is kind of set up well they've gotten the kind of pressure in the kind of looks and near deeds that you want and even still the offense ends up scoring that's just so hard to get a block it makes you appreciate it even more when you see those situations where you're nervous is he to open right are my shoes tight right now eleven eight and five goals in the first three minutes here in the second quarter obviously was a high-scoring game of these two teams been true they combined for 16 score on TOEIC and at midfield after San Francisco which will further the offsides cassadee continuing to take the Carroll matchup downfield Dallman on cam Harris Hawks on linked lists byron lose on Ben Burrell no Darrin woahhh on the field right now for Toronto Oh your would reason why Davis whistled for the foul Morel snatched another hassled by one of the top handler defenders in the game Byron Lou forcing McKnight to make the sliding grab now Lindquist nice cut by McKnight Moses to the pylon [Music] the resets Pharrell's really helping out in that kind of that area just can't get that you see Bayless trying to do a great job of morale that's really important for Toronto because otherwise it's just when you get that the reset sir your offense is going to be inconsistent their offense finally starting to look better than before shaky in the first quarter and a couple of Huck's and just like it did for San Francisco's offense it opens up the underneath I love that throw from linkless he's so good at that throwing the wrong-footed flick to the goal that sets up a backhand stance and then just without even pivoting releases a quick break there guys in the NBA that specialize in making difficult shots not necessarily the best players but you know the Jamal Crawford's of the world that make the most impossible shots link whist is one of those guys in ultimate good boat for Toronto but San Francisco quickly out of the end zone seeking Sanchez over his head Toronto takes over Boyd near the sideline when inbounds tan Darrin Wow playing more defense today for the rush Brenton tan fumbles it away missed opportunity for Toronto see if San Francisco can punch it in flock it has Taylor that seems really easy deflating possession there for Toronto and they've had the one Reagan say something fitted a really early hockey they haven't been able to get it through drop by a man it just you have to start to wonder if Toronto feeling the pressure of the fact of the do they feel like they need to get breaks because there's a big difference than when you're just enjoying the game playing for fun being in the moment and then when you feel like okay the office is struggling a little bit I need to go ahead and put us on the scoreboard feeling it and then obviously this mistake here which feel like an ordinary mistake but then it can wear on a team's mentality as well Russia had a couple of chances but that's seven consecutive holds from the two teams to start the second quarter great crowd on hand here at clawed roba yard Stadium in Montreal the Royale played here in 2017 Paris sending Burrell Bayless trailing again into the run [Music] yeah so it's so tough when they get that immediate break off the front of the stack of ham Harrison he gets the quick shot off so fast with so much power come find me Liz does a great job in closing but he really doesn't have the kind of size to go over the top there it's a beautiful place love it Knicks 30 guys who are so quick in smaller toughness you usually hadn't put a small guy on it because you're worried about him doing damage they anticipate but as soon as you do they can go deep and I mean that that initial break to cam Harris is just it's a killer once that happens when you got a guy like cam Harrison is whoever wants to goes and catches a goal and that's exactly how Iran Oh scripted that point to go they do dangerous stuff for their pole plays it's really hard to stop but if you're San Francisco I'm still thinking I'm gonna live with that for a while and maybe in the second half we change things up but you're getting so many good chances at a block every time Burrell's beaten you it's been by inches it's gone his way so far but you're in a great defensive position Sanchez - Taylor - got it that's a pretty throw one more yard of float tailors out the back and not easy to not into the throat you can't flatten it out but doctor space there's not enough field to do it so he puts an edge on it and drops it right in five yards inside the back of the backbone it's such a luxury to have receivers like Mac Taylor a guy with great size and length and also just just outstanding top speed and that's why those those brake chances are really looming large in Toronto you're not going to get too many opportunities fourth goal of the game for Mac Taylor teammate of Bo Kittredge and they were in college at the University of Colorado won a national title back in 2004 we thought we'd see them go against another former mama bird champ Jimmy Mick holder and to Carol and the rest of the rush prevent that from happening polls are coming fast and furious down bellow that one took just 13 seconds well once again this time doing it with his gross this guy is fast quickly building a box out and gets a deep shot on top of that he's a lefty would throw to the beat it's gonna be a scary player for a long time Carol with a handful of assists that's his first goal of the game and Ferrell continues to be in the mix of pretty much everything offensive Lee for the rush you were talking about Matt Taylor speaking of backed out he pick a better name for an ultimate player with the word Mac during his his Callahan videos when he was in college for being MVP there is speculation that he was a made up player and that wasn't his real name his his real name is Macpherson so Mac actually makes sense in the ultimate world is just Mack leftie backhand from Linsley to Kittredge two of the seven males that represented USA and Poland at the World Games winning gold locket landed on the line so Lindsley will get the goal there was a travel called oh and you saw me foul and joy collide and they're exchanging some words right now now Martin comes in and shoves Ashe with joy Kelly plays the role of peacemaker it looked like initially their legs just got tied up and the war of words began and Martin is still heated yeah it might be a little bit of frustration the party he's been having a tough day off setting unsportsmanlike calls giving Ashland joy and Jonathan Martin in each one unsportsmanlike now they get a second there done excellent particularly needs to be careful for San Francisco as he would be a gargantuan loss just woke up this morning talking about the possibility of Ashland joy getting thrown out of the game for two hun sportsman like calls Taylor Blazers it for Marcy perhaps that'll ratchet up the intensity a little bit both ways you know what I mean San Francisco I don't think it's a team that plays great when they're angry you know they tend to just have fun stay light you know be athletic make exciting plays and celebrate their wins you know but Toronto that's the kind of weight of Toronto could get on ride a little bit we'll see if they do we saw yesterday and Harris called for the 20 yard on sports Malec penalty and it really was a turning point the game in a good way for the rush thinking for some players it's just take a look at what was going on getting a pals face about it barn trying to break it up but when that angle looked like he was breaking up but partner came in and kind of shoved joy out of the way it wasn't like he was a diplomatic well in the ring used to be what you would see in the ultimate scene especially with some other guys older guys out of Vancouver they were known for that all of a sudden they beat down by three and then there'd be a foul call if you get chippy and it played right into their favor Kurdistan has been Raleigh's reputation for a long time - it has been but lately Raleigh's really been a different team at the best record in the a UDL in the regular season 2017 but knocked off by Dallas that's a beautiful throw from Aunt Ruth Carroll to Ben Ferrell these two guys have both taken a huge temple they're keeping the rush in the game you know it's funny I mean even though san francisco's ahead they look very comfortable if there's just there's two guys to stand out of this game and they keep throwing to each other Ferrell and Carol are putting on a show like hey if I throw - you'll throw to me yeah sure wide open unbelievable recognition that the defender Swift and Morrell just took off I'd love to see Cassidy Rasmussen go on Morel for a while a little Carol's been she's still threatening but Burrell has been I think what has been five or six times and consisted or scored in the last points right here in the second quarter you really want to just upset some rhythm here this is not a good trend to allow to continue and said that member L surprises opponents with his speed and I think we've seen that in his first half today both rolled out of bounds so Toronto will initiate their defense on the sidelines Ashland joy with the disc Marcee Kittridge was on stage down field but the reset to schlock it now feel you've got tan on Linsley Massa Kelly on Taylor Mike McKenzie on Sanchez I'd like to seeing Lloyd on Taylor they're just basically saying you're not gonna catch goals anymore another opportunity here for the rush and a timeout called by Lloyd 450 on the clock we've had 11 make it 12 execve hold so far here in the second quarter the rush looking for the second quarters first break when we come back [Music] it's a tremendous crowd on hand this city has done an incredible job putting on this premiere events great setting great signage just an incredible electricity in the air about an hour before things even got goin yesterday there were people coming through the gates by the hundreds over two thousand people here yesterday it feels like the crowd is significantly larger than it was yesterday and it would be a thing to see you know if Canadian team was not in the final you know how much of an impact that would have definitely the crowd is here they're excited to see if than any team in the final of the a video in Toronto warmed up yesterday and today and montreal expos t-shirts that they put yesterday here at Montreal to try to curry some favor from the home fans it used to be in the rivals of the Royale Paris near the sidelines makes the catch and the rock for them it's a really impressive game right now because I think San Francisco's playing very good defense in Toronto swing just a little better on offense to where you're seeing these throws the tight windows executed at high level and this is what what happens when you get two teams that are cohesive with the talent that they have it's so much fun to watch yeah there's not much room bake this throw no there isn't I'm not you know I'm a big believer to that a lot of times you know you'll you'll be close all during the first half you may get one break you might not but you're kind of putting it in the bank you're saying just so you know but the rest of this game everything you do is gonna have to be perfect so congrats on your going keep going in and eventually mentally or physically you start to wear down you make a little mistake you get in your head and that's all it takes like sometimes what you're doing on D is you're applying pressure over time pressure over time is what generates turns you talk about that pressure and it's gonna mount mentally and there's so much so many cliches about being in the moment and everything but it's so important in such a hard battle it's part of the game is how do you keep focus for four quarters travel called on Kitteridge press your time and a little rock hammer that's all that you need I think the referees are on to Bo keep that left foot stationary sometimes starting to get the whistle blown it's called for I mean three travels yesterday maskull enjoy choses hops and then rips one but he didn't see the poach defender and this is an easy block interception for Brett and tan that's one of those conservation of greatness moments where Ashland makes a very athletic play up in the air and then immediately boots it so here you've got San Francisco's old line playing D and well how about sach and Reina using his second and final timeout of this moment you've got San Fran still on the run a little bit and that's what happens too is you can play can look like for a while you're struggling to generate turnovers you're struggling to generate breaks and then you get one and it turns into oil said okay we can do this we we have a little bit more confidence and it becomes easier to play defense the other team also starts hesitating just a little bit more and you've got a guy like Ashland joining speaking of applying pressure over time he's been the focal point of a lot of pressure around the disc and he's been managing it well but then the altercation with Martin pressure on that throw and then all of a sudden you see him make make a very uncharacteristic throw to the end zone easily caught by Toronto so I think they're doing a good job on him they've got him out of his comfort zone salute you want to do never let a shuttle is it reminds me of times when you're coaching in college you're trying to or get a tease anybody was in college you better do this where it's hard to phrase I'm playing a team that's really good highly ranked and you're trying to just be can't stop when you play tomorrow to won a national championship the mantra is just get one place what's the morning defenses and after that it becomes easier easier to do that over and over again but so many teams get overwhelmed by oh my goodness how we gonna stop to all these weapons and it just has to be a battle of what time let's do it once keep doing it again after that Sachin Ranas had the right touch in terms of Colin time out so far this weekend we'll see if it works out here they're looking for it all to Carroll he's got the disc in the red zone no timeouts Carroll gets it off San Francisco defenders wondering where the count was that sure seemed like seven look at that tie game by the year would bid in the Russian sideline [Music] know how much history this david engineer would has been battling against these bay area players for a long time and he's a gamer start his career on defense and in fact the 2012 semi-final for the world championships here was tasked with bar depot the entirety of the game that was his job and you kind of forget about him sometimes about be such a great thrower he has the athleticism and here providing those recesses of the office this game furtively important and vital for toronto you could see in his body language that big pain mentality hampshire oh yeah he's a guy that's got swagger and i remember when i first started covering the a vdl i wasn't as familiar with some of the faces on toronto and i talked to to some of my friends in the bay area and the first name that dutchy mentioned that a lot of these guys mentioned was your what they said oh yeah we know him and we know when he quits those are the guys were afraid of they're still here they're still making plays Lindquist a Yearwood for the tying score at 14 all similar flavor to yesterday for toronto they fell behind by four yesterday the deficit was three today now they're back even with a two and a half remaining in the opening half Powell on Ashland Powell's the guy that usually Ashley got in the altercation with [Music] marci the Kitteridge over-the-top Linsley is their Serrano is forced to display so much switching defense and put dyes into the lane that's leaving bodies opens and I don't blame them in this strategy it's so tough to stop the throwers because they're so good at breaking the mark and so they're just run get it out of whoever has this get it out of their hands and make them move into a different location little passage the wide open players and you never talk about bow as a thrower but he's a guy who knows how to says if I do this I know I can control it so it might not be the prettiest stroke because it quite follow through whatever it is you care you ever cared about how Stroh's look they're very effective decisions - yeah I just think when you're around the end zone there's certain guys that are so motivated by the end zone so motivated by goals he's one of them vertical stack here from Toronto good job by San Francisco being irony was being very physical with morale downfield not let him go deep keep calling on Toronto the rush will retreat 10 yards I've chatted with yo Cal Oaxaca San Francisco's head coach before the game and he said Toronto basically has three pole plays that they are really really good at and it's our job to identify which one they're gonna run and adjust accordingly it's not necessarily about winning a matchup by anticipating a cut it's about poaching into a lane changing a bar what a shot from Jeff Flake whist puts it on a platter for camaronera news [Music] surprise a little bit of bass came out of the choice of the blady hot liquid put it up mustard on it that a little problem I don't know it's opens back to the middle of the field but this is a bad decision executed flawlessly like a Japanese throw good point yeah as a defender downfield your since I'm in perfect position I'm ready just goes up no plan talked about it earlier Evan some guys specialize in hitting those hard shots linkless is one of them he is maddening over the years I have had the game plan brilliant over and over again and you get everybody into a perfect position and then link whist as something that's just so unorthodox you have to game plan for the player and not the system do you try to force him down field to make him be a cutter more than a thrower if that's possible I think as he's gotten older that that's got to be the case but he's become so dangerous as a thrower it's it's hard to stop someone from getting the disc even if it's for a two-foot pass and after that so dangerous with the high releases actual joy fires a blade to bokeh turrets to respond when that decision deserves another ass enjoy Towson a blade over the stack perfect an absolute joy left a book in truth abandon city next question it's something you wouldn't as a coach you wouldn't teach people to throw this throw but yeah it's almost never a bad decision I secure just that bo is so dangerous you saw massive Kellyanne earlier possession giving bo the under and that's a difficulty because here you get bo the under it's a twenty yard games in so massive Kelly asses back turn trying to take away the underneath hoping that the mark will do a great job checking away the throw sooner so that goes up at the ball we got a great game on our hand 16 15 66 seconds remaining in the first half Toronto trying to keep its streak of score at the end of quarters alive and we might have three more scores before the final buzzer taking us to halftime Carol with the disc is a good start at the half stay with us Megan tore me and our gameday crew down on the set patio here amidst the fans multi-world editor charlie Eisen hood will join the crew and there's a mistake from Toronto a door opening for San Francisco and Lukas Dolman has two timeouts left so why not take one here with 35 seconds on the clock what happened there the Toronto office Brian just um this execution trying to hit your wood and this is like a cheater would just made it earlier in the endzone thought he would come up with it I'm surprised by the quick timeout call here you had Toronto not a great magician defend you could move it quickly you like currents has done a phenomenal job and put punching and brakes the issue hasn't been converting on the turnovers it's in the second quarter it's been getting the turnovers out of Toronto because now now also in the situation you've got 30 seconds ago you can set up your buzzer beater your enter the half defense which should be a little bit more practice and this is the conversation that goes on at ultimate all the time the NBA all the time about do you take the timeout what do you do in the situation it's hard to argue though when you have go - Latoya no hats up it so line back out there went and Powell double joy 30 seconds for the flame throwers Sanchez pretty good downfield defense from Toronto lead to a turnover and the rush have no timeouts Powell juggles but hangs on under 10 seconds for Toronto Lloyd you want it in his hands he goes with the scoober and it works [Applause] [Music] why not Boyd the Powell over the top with two seconds to go I've seen some pretty humorous about one of them but it works so well there's one happen this could take and I was thinking maybe be a hammer over the top 10 he was in the back of the endzone but better get on the cones just enjoy the moment that's a good golf shot right there you can see the set up just too much pressure a great sequence of reset pressure from Toronto and then ya mean Boyd is a lot like boat just not care what it looks like he just wants to get the goal that looked like roger federer at the neck no why didn't throw it back in there but maybe he got it off now trying to get the length of the field get it off but there's Cameron Harris [Music] [Music] [Music] early recognition is critical teaches middle school PE classes Ultimate Frisbee cancer symptom all right thank you so much for joining us we are halftime at the 2017 a UDL championship finals where the Toronto rush is holding the San Francisco flamethrowers even at 16 and I am joined with some of the best in the a UDL we have Dave Weisman and Kevin Pettit scantling from the Madison radicals and Chris Mazur from the Dallas Roughnecks gentlemen I'm so sorry that your spectating today but you still have a lot to be proud of from your performances yesterday and let's take a minute to review them now and Chris I want to start with you because I think that was the more shocking and game out of the two of them tell us just a little bit about what it was like at the at the end of the first quarter when when Toronto started to amount to come back yeah I think the end of the quarter is the most important thing to mention they scored last in all four quarters they won by three there's no surprise there well what the end and the game ends up as if they score last four quarters and that's for free breaks that they didn't have to get a break on all I had to do was score last we didn't execute at the end of the first they've had a drop in the corner on a weird little blade from Jimmy and probably should have caught it and that just gave the momentum some confidence and then they started playing much tighter on defense they played pretty loose in the first quarter and then played really tight for three quarters after that yeah and you were in the exact same situation as the San Francisco flame throws right now had a little bit of a lead and then found yourself even with them at halftime what was the discussion at half time with the score very similar to what we see right now yeah great question Dillon talked a lot in halftime along with along with Pat and the discussion was a lot about maintaining energy we had seen lols throughout the season where we had played selfishly at times liked hadn't played for each other and the idea was let's keep an energy together as opposed to going out and trying to make individual plays we felt we were in the right mindset but frankly and Toronto came out with more pressure than we had seen all season I mean in two seasons really they played tight on every single body throughout the entire second half now let's toss it over to the Madison side to hear your experience about the San Francisco flamethrowers and I think the interesting point about your game was that your defense nearly brought San Francisco to a standstill offensively and KPS you're a stalwart on the defensive side so I want you to explain a little bit about what you were doing what your goals were were and what it was like to maintain that kind of pressure throughout the game well we had talked about this pretty extensively coming into this weekend when our strategies we're gonna be and we knew that if San Francisco was able to bring it all the way to the goal line that we were gonna transition into somewhat of a zone because if we're going one-on-one with them in the end zone and they're gonna score on us so we played really tight pressure on the marks to draw a foul so get to get into our zone when we're in the end zone and it tend to work they took eight to nine passes to score rather than one just around to the ISO so that was a strategy we just executed that so I think that was a big advantage going into this game executed it really well I mean it didn't always lead to a break but you definitely slowed the momentum and then of course then our offense had to hop out on the line Dave what was it like to know that there was so much pressure riding on your shoulder since the defense while fantastic didn't generate as many breaks as it typically does so you guys had to play more perfectly yeah has level of execution in the conversion rates that you see you're not gonna get a whole lot of opportunities to school and so that pushes a little bit of that burden over into the offensive line to ensure that when the defense does convert the whole line isn't giving those breaks back right so it did like we did have a lot of we knew going into it that we couldn't give up we only had a certain budget afraid we didn't talk about a specific number per se but we knew that we were just going to focus on those basic fundamentals of the game to ensure that we had the right spacing we're making the right decisions and ultimately that will translate into just like better conversion better success well as you noticed we've been joined by Charlie Eisen hood the editor of ulti world and nowhere of all things ultimate so Charlie I want to toss it to you and just ask is this what you predicted going into this game well I was I was talking with Nathan Jetson our a UDL editor before the game and we were talking about what we expected to happen and I I think both of us felt like you could really go either way that we could see a really tight game and I think that's what we've seen here I'm impressed by how well Toronto has played especially in the second quarter you look at their offense they only have one turnover in the entire quarter and it does feel a lot like you were talking about at the start I'm sorry I was late it was such it was such a close game I was taking notes all the way up until the buzzer you were talking about how this game feels similar to the game yesterday against Dallas and I think that's true because you saw them get off to a little bit of slow start but then come back and make that run in the second quarter and it feels like Toronto's playing better right now and they have had more opportunities on D to get breaks and they started turning those into points I think the other thing that I found particularly interesting is how well Toronto has done in kind of the special team situations they call a timeout they get a break they call another timeout they get another break they win the buzzer beaters I've been doing that really well all weekend now you mentioned that it was like getting free breaks because they were getting sports at the ends of quarters and I think that's happened here as well they've kind of taken advantage of those little in-game moments where you can generate an edge and they've done that better than San Francisco you made a really interesting point after our halftime show yesterday about Toronto looking completely unafraid of Dallas who was the favorite going into that game do you have a sense of their their mental attitude today well you know I talked to their head coach Sachin Raina after the game yesterday and and he said that they were much better prepared to go down and to be behind and play from behind whereas last year against the Roughnecks as you well know Chris they crumbled fell apart and really never got back into the game and I think you saw that again here they you know again against an opponent that a lot of people are gonna expect them to lose to they go down early things are really not going their way in the first quarter and yet you see them come out with some fire come out bring their defensive pressure and you know see the like unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and kind of the little chip eNOS they're not afraid of San Francisco and they've played these players before they've beaten these players before in big situations there's a really interesting cumulative effect of Toronto's offense having on San Francisco's offense which sounds kind of strange but Toronto's offense is scoring so quickly that San Francisco's offense is spending way more time on the field at least in the second quarter here and the cumulative effect of that in the second half might take a toll it certainly took a toll on us yesterday you saw our best seven players on the field a lot and then when it came into the fourth quarter and we said hey we got to we need you guys to play both ways you're world-class you're the top of the game we weren't getting it done right and that's a two point edge that's the edge you need against world-class players so that might come into effect if their offense scores in two to three passes that might actually hurt san Francisco's offense that's an excellent point it can be very fatiguing to play offense simply because you have to be more mentally acute where defense you know it's just great Brittan legs but to wrap this up i want to presume for a moment that you're like me and if you lose to a team you then cheer for that team so that you lose to the best so under that presumption Madison what advice do you have for San Francisco to win this game so I'd say for San Francisco continue to move the disc and be aware of where Toronto is is double teaming like Toronto has been doing a good job of creating a couple of higher pressure scenarios and San Francisco by and large has executed and getting out but there have been a couple turns where you know Sam Toronto goes to to set up the double team and they got one out of Sanchez right so Toronto I think has done a little bit more of that and so being aware of that from San Francisco and just taking that extra second to make sure like yep this is the one that I want to get and not expecting to necessarily get a call from the ref if you know there's a little bit of contact but yeah I'd say just like take that extra second make sure that that that's look you want to get and be aware that there that other team is looking to be aggressive with those doubles KPS do you have anything to add to that go rush I'm cheerful rush I think they've got a ton of momentum and then the underdogs here and I really like mark Lloyd I like Ashton joy I like Greg : but I think Toronto is really proving it they're out here to win I'd like to see them take it sometimes it's not a matter of liking individuals on the team but rather the ethos of the team at work so I appreciate that response well then at Chris I open it up just a little bit more do you have advice for the team you would like to win for the team I'd like to win yeah because I absolutely want to see triangle get crushed in I hate Toronto like I couldn't hate it team or quite frankly like everyone hates teams that they don't like playing against I hate playing against Toronto from playing in time in New York playing guys like totally who that please in here like I hate playing against those guys they're awful they besides mark away I'll give him yeah he's go get mark because he's the sweetest dude in the world I don't know how he deals with the rest of them anyway San Francisco is filled with just like stand-up dudes from Lucas Ptolemy and II like her and saw them they worked so hard they work together they play the game the right way in a lot of ways so I think if they just trust each other don't try to play hero ball they're gonna do just fine they can get into weird moments right where they say like no they've got all of the other players that are great if they don't play hero ball they're gonna be fine all right well that wraps it up for us we will send it back to the booth because the second half of the championship weekend is underway soon so for Dave Weisman Kevin Pettit Scanlan Charlie Eisen hood of ulti world and Chris Mazur i'm meghan torjussen of the 2017 championship weekend will soon reveal themselves [Music] third quarter about 90 seconds away we welcome you back upstairs with Chuck kindred and Brian Jones I am haven't left floor 16 all score at the break and both teams had their fair share highlights a high-flying first half jump yeah lots lots of play making you know this is the kind of game that San Francisco likes to play high scoring lots of action lots of deep cuts and it's been kind of incredible to see them a open up their offense get some big plays and then also to see Toronto go tit for tat on a shootout for San Francisco's offense tack on the field with very little rest we'll see if that impacts things to the second half UI currents play great for the D line and have number one Ryan the Toronto side of things these guys fell behind early for the second day in a row and then rally back that scoober to end the first half from Loida Powell was nuts it was incredible and that they're hitting in such tight windows right now and this is an exciting sight to see because when you get players with talent laying really well this is what Ultimates all about I it looked like a carbon copy of yesterday's game it looked like the Toronto was having some troubles early on then Pharrell animators think I thought he might falter under the pressure of today but he's picked it up a nice Pacific huge contributor Brett and tan finally getting that block he was close early on Lloyd Powell to get it tied up at the end of the half gonna be a sensational second half and Pharrell already with so far in the game for Toronto see the rush no line back out there they're receiving here with a chance to take their first lead of the day they were broken early after Burrell's mistake when Eli Kern's caught Lukas dolmens break just 35 seconds into the game Antoine Davis marking Thompson McKnight turns on Yearwood asthma since days with Carroll Cox on linguist the hammer Cohen read it but have shred it better oh goodness that's been the story of this game this great defense by San Francisco and no panic what's up so so ever from cam Harris this goes up it's not a particularly great throw in Cohen's coming hard very good defender in the air and just a really confident patient well-read catch by cam Harris and then he throws this throw now what is that throw it's just it's a nightmare coaching but then some of these players have captive-bred Masuka is kind of the most famous example of where he can throw continuously with an air bounce and it's a weapon that you can get two receivers in certain situations every throw has an application there goes grant Linsley he's hard to catch that's what Mike that's what Mac Taylor likes to do and get the disc in the middle of field and see somebody going deep just such a big frame you know straight up mark its kind of what you want even gets out on this quick but it really doesn't matter Mac is used in to used to throwing against elite marks it's got such a quick step out and delivery and you know he's interesting guy to he's played a lot of mixed ultimate like he's a guy who doesn't put a ton of float on his disks but he completes passes to women to men it's all short in the wind no wind whatever he's figured out how to make really really accurate deep shots and that's just one more round scored 31 seconds San Francisco responded at 14 seconds now it's the Russia's turn again and how about that defensive breakdown Aris wide open Lindquist cross the field through the traffic to Burrell and then Burrell had it intercepted by Bayless and they're gonna give it to Thompson McKnight Wow I was a quick call saying that McKnight got at first Bayless arguing that he had it let's see yeah Bayless is in front I'm not sure he got it first though and Bayless we can do it again when I just put it put his hand up rocked it respectful conversation the officials overturn their call and ignite seems to agree so palest will get credit for the D oh oh and it deflected by your wood yeah I think your wood knows that move he said hey that's one of mine Carol can't make the tough catch you know we said pressure over time produces turnovers we might be seeing some of that right here and that's a catch that I'm sure why Carol didn't make Toronto had one turnover in the second quarter that's two on this point and the deep shot caught by Tanner San Francisco secures the bring to retake balloon that's a pretty nice Petra with Sam Harris coming on the backside he's got such great Laettner speed he was in the frame and Cantor does what he needs to make this catch you know who floats this one doesn't need to be as floaty but just enough you can suck you can kind of see on that throw how hard it is to be running full-speed and then get up and here's the drop by Carroll certainly not an easy catch I don't mean to imply this that that was a given that he should have caught that you know watch camp Harris close here he has to exert so much speed that it's hard to get height on his jump he's still accelerating forward and if you give those two guys in 50/50 I think cam Harris comes down with that eight out of ten times didn't get their line on the field quickly and up in position so a delay of game penalty for seven 10 years back tan Lloyd whoo Quinn Martin Massa Kelly and Powell on this 0.4 the rush they called the delay a game in Toronto but San Francisco had eight players on the field joy was write it off on the sidelines after the call was made that's Kelly you've seen him become much more of a thrower this year Boyd bump by Kanter an ERISA player that usually brings the pressure on defense against handlers and known for the physicality he's lawyered rips it there's some players too you know if you're a coach you got got some young guys coming in you teach them hey look downfield for a couple counts and then lock in on the reset and there's other guys like Marc Lloyd who downfield you think that's already at four he's probably gonna just look to dumping you you know maybe you look away or look to see what's going on in the other side of the field but he's the guy who literally sees the whole field all the time is always facing the mark he's always ready to break either direction and stall five stall six he still still look at the end zone the coach that set the tower then one point he let the guys who are your world breakers you superstars just let him play and it's a fine line San Francisco had Mac Taylor up there on t last point he's still out there on oh boy harassed by the double team gets it down field for Linsley Kittredge taking off here the sideline PO Kittredge got it that's a pretty throw from grant Lindsley he was working hard in the lanes lot H had a really nice D on him finally collects it on the under and sees bow even with Isaiah master Kelly no certainly you have confidence to throw over to throw into moe are you trying to hook it around I say it massive Kelly it's a little nerve-racking he does a good job of just putting some float on this turning it into a footrace and letting bow win the footrace this is not the high arcing throw that you would throw to another receiver but a lot of trust here as soon as you see Bo is even in someone he still has that reputation go ahead and put it two gold medalists from the world games in Poland connected to make it 1918 still early here in the third what team was massive Kelly playing on NASA Kelly was on Russia from beach worlds I was talking mentally in Kitteridge my fault USA and Poland that's right Harris rips it referee has his hand up Toronto will continue but Noah picked was called pretty high you kind of knew when the stall was rising and there was no reset at least I was thinking cam Harris is about to step around and bomber thick and sure enough so where does this all come in then let's say it was it well they just announced it's coming at six coming in at six you have one second to release the time out there with one left great game on our hands 1918 San Francisco 831 in the third [Music] [Music] [Music] with Chuck kindred Brian Jones Evan left fuller along with you the APL championship game from Montreal 1918 San Francisco leads and the rush heard the timeout because the stalling I think so it's a way to pretty much take away almost a guaranteed turnover you'd are going to have and the way to the college game to and then taking that into account the refs have been very on top of making I would even say borderline ticky tack calls McKnight eats a reset finds Carroll there's Harris and Harris taken out from behind by resolution I think maybe cam Harris remembers yesterday when he got fouled and it wasn't called so they puts on a little acting job to make sure that was so close this time Harris can't get there so two mistakes from Carol early here and that might be the pressure of the moment mounting oh there's Harris getting it right back to the rush that he was crazy how did he not foul he was so low to the ground and took an angle of the disc which gave him a path I don't know too many guys you could get that deep save that one for the highlight reel for sure and now tamping and Adrian year would get stalled out and Kern's rifles at down Eli currents didn't wait for the whistle after a stall you gotta wait for the whistle so how does that work if guys are running you're losing position but you're not allowed to throw the disc I make sure them to team up debris you're know you're free to move but you're not free to throw it another pick down did look like Dolman took advantage of the traffic in the middle of the field and now yo Cal oka [Music] both teams burned time outs it's still early here in the third and while it's important to let's watch this block what in the world that is an unbelievable block he's totally out of positions almost completely behind Greg Kona somehow reaches around it gets a clean block I've never attempted indeed like that let alone got it impressive quick [Music] that's a negative [Music] big spot for Toronto's no question [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you know another thing that's impressive about that bit is that's a set up where if you're behind the guy in your fitting if you miss or if your momentum is a little bit off you can really hurt the guy you can land right on his legs so it's really important that you make precise bid and not only does he not injure anybody hit anybody he doesn't even foul just unbelievable body control from cam Harris tan on joy Powell joins the mark forcing it to rasmussen who's out there with this old line interesting Sam Tanner stays out there as well Leslie Sanchez Kittredge and Marcy Powell's bid each really gets there Wow nice cut from our Seles inches mr. window to find him though now Rasmussen wants Winsley and he beat mark once again [Music] so we saw San Francisco in the first half with a two score lead but there's the second break for the flamethrowers here at the third quarter go back up by multiple scores eventually we knew that pressure would result some turnovers and then you have passier Asmussen this is just too easy they put them over kind of on both sides of the disc in the second half they're not waiting cassie is so skilled as an offensive player you see very fast hard to guard frankly it all kind of had its weight with him so far in the first half [Music] [Music] yesterday it's worth noting the rush after coming back to tie it up with Dallas did fall back behind by two on multiple occasions before finally taking the lead at the very end of the third quarter we've seen the same exact script from Toronto this weekend until the crowd is wanting Toronto to score and they're ready to erupt breaking away from pyrin Lou [Applause] [Music] Carroll [Music] good solid offensive possession in Toronto for a while the pressures of 70 over 40 minutes of really high saw situations one thing I've noticed you're early on is that you have Lou on Burrell and you just haven't seen the same Gulf story that we saw at the end of the first half realizing but touching the district much and that matchup is a pretty consistent and that's a defender sometimes you need that half you need that quarter to just adjust to what the guy does you don't know them you haven't played against him before to be really tough to play against young guys like that out of bounds poles San Francisco from the brick mark just cross the midway point of this third quarter we've seen Toronto double Ashland joy a lot early to try to get discs out of his hands and I think that's a smart move the other the other adjustment here is that we've seen a lot of other guys on beau Kittredge Massa Kelly but here he is on Mac Taylor and Lloyd is is now on that Kittredge matchup Jackie how down field on Linsley and Ashland boy throws loosely opened grant obliges with an outrageous horizontal bid lose all that yardage by jumping back 20 yards to Kittredge [Music] Rasmussen to Linsley got it [Applause] okay you know that's why sometimes it's nice to just make a plaque throw out into space then if there's a miscue at least should you and your receiver an opportunity to make an adjustment I just run it down there you know if that's an outside and if that's got a little bend on it it doesn't sit up long enough for grant to do this which is just a spectacular play yeah looks funded and cassadee in the middle of field I mean usually sometimes you forget what an elite thrower is catches immediately sees the downfield opening just so accurate to put it up over a defender can throw a tight one to space to hit the cone whatever you need to do he's been doing it forever I remember seeing him at UC Santa Cruz just saying how did this guy get so good at throwing third goal of the quarter for Linsley fifth to the game Rasmussen throwing the last two assists for Toronto for San Francisco Carol's taken off Paris lets it fly Cohen peeled off defensively and caro86 pitch anyway [Applause] such an impressive display know when it's coming in there could be physical contact though it looks like he's got the positioning and Carol gets over just enough basically almost for Fitz's it's the ability to catch this easily but keeps tone FA yeah the great players do that it looked the way it's set up it just look like Oh Cohen got him did just seemed like a foregone conclusion and then all of a sudden it's sticking to Karos hands a little bit of Bend there right at the end this turns over from up here it looks much closer buddy Carroll doesn't take the optimum path the distance that he's going for : he's doing the Box out right almost it almost work out for him [Music] [Applause] back to a once floor came Toronto on Dean Cohen and Bayliss to guys for San Francisco that have been very close to some D's tonight on the dumped by McKenzie Lloyd [Applause] what do you know arg1 does the exact right thing and throws a goal to an open receiver he's the guy's a coach he's gonna be so happy to have him on your team you know whatever he does is gonna be the right thing helps here that tan is wide open to go back to that block Toronto has really used the double team I was pretty critical of them early on because they were to let national enjoy just throw it keep and here a lot of times you know teams of utilize you double through the middle field but when you go back to the history of the udl when the double team was first introduced we thought it might be used on the sideline a lot more for traps and certainly done that but your Toronto is just using it to bot down the pole place it's working Sachin rayna's dial it up a game plan Raina will coach the Canadian u24 team and Perth Australia this January late for the rush each of the last four years the aptl inexperienced perhaps starting to bubble up with grant Linsley never rush other person go from mark Lloyd and that pressure around the dish really makes you appreciate a little bit you know ashland joy and how he's been able to continually solve that double-team when you see the two times in a row they got grant lindsay with that double-team it's harder than it looks at you know in the middle of the field it's hard to generate pressure you've got every single direction available to you somehow there's nothing that's really some elite defense well i think you're in toronto did a good job it doesn't help that bow kind of just stood there in the back field and said hey give me the disc because there were two handlers right in the same area makes it really easy to the deepest snap that cover multiple areas in bogus moves one direction or the other away from the defense that's probably not going to happen three goals in a row from toronto a lot of flat marks from Toronto every time several school catches that on one side they're gonna see a body in front of them not only downfield but much lower they're just too dangerous here to open throws [Music] Rasmussen up there instead of schlock it for the San Francisco lowlife flocking getting looked at by the flamethrowers athletic trainer pollen hey Anderson on the sidelines [Music] and smart tonight the up line for Kittredge and Taylor breaks free Linsley and Kittredge close enough to get rich to get the call so we're tied yet again 22 apiece [Music] that's just what the doctor ordered from your San Francisco we've had some problems in the last no possession with the double-team no man to do is just move this record saw Lindsley really try to live you down the field for a long time Josh lock it looked at by the athletic trainer doesn't look like he's totally comfortable I've just been impressed all weekend with Toronto I mean they're playing out standing ultimate both sides of the disc their mental game they just keep playing even after a mistake you talked about that early in the game yesterday you like their body language you like their energy yeah when you flash back to the last time you know Ashland was quarterbacking against this team in the finals in Toronto I mean they laid an egg they checked out they did not play their best they were not ready to compete and what a difference very different Toronto team had been Burrell Darren whoo the young core of tan Armstrong when Andrew Carroll's a different player now but there's Kevin Cox flying through the air for the D to many players of Toronto going to the same space yet linked lists and Yearwood and your wood is shaken up and the whistle will stop the clock with 154 to go here in the third as Yearwood takes the sub Kevin Cox goes to the sidelines as well Ashland joy replacing him currents marked by link West's great clothes and Lloyd valve joy two guys have a friendly history competing against one another boy just trying to set the mark there as quickly as he can Joey get the 10 yards sizzling throated almond and then to loo a break for the flamethrowers the seesaw second half continues [Music] it's always tough when you get into a hectic situation in the end zone offense because you have a turnover on the other side you can't bite on the Ashland joists shimmy or some people call it the wheel it opens up too many options third ring in the last four points we get a string in the first half where we had 12 consecutive holes how the defense is starting to take advantage perhaps of the o-line fatigue perhaps they're learning a little bit more about their matchup so after Toronto gets broken Lloyd out there and he'll rip one Massa Kelly chased by canner San Francisco's defense knocks it away that's a heck of a play by Sam canner Massa Kelly was space in that size Tanner has made some big plays this weekend no by the way rules [Music] Sawyer Thompson trips 1 Devin Williams versus Brett and tan Masek Kelly trailing o tan over the shoulder of Williams what just happened [Music] Martin another Jerry chance Lloyd versed Owen I'm not looking Williams get it back after a difficult interaction when I'm in the field he runs all the way to the end zone it's the second ever deep it's a Lloyd and Cohen looking at each other they just shook hands I seen like they both miss played it pretty badly otherwise it seemed like it probably would've been a foul timeout call by San Francisco the flamethrowers by 1 29 seconds left with a bird Petersen play [Music] [Applause] [Music] as best they can Ocala oka just took his final time out of the final important situation 29 seconds on the clock to end the third we want to get your old line on the field to take advantage here San Francisco will receive to start the fourth so a chance to go a little double score here and try to put this thing away with execution he like turns out they're on offense after the turnover and he turns it over that's incredible so much pressure they can't even reset it let alone get the ball moving downfield Toronto's taking its time but there's 10 seconds on the clock and it's still ticking Lloyd scoober intercepted Rasmussen knocked it down and the rush for the first time this weekend will not score the final goal of a quarter that honor belongs to Byron Lou at San Francisco and it's a one goal game ahead of the board yeah I think that D by C that's a big deal that looked like a done deal you got heart Lloyd looking to advance to this one inch unable to do it so good heart by San Francisco after a pretty embarrassing sequence [Music] yeah just in that case I need to rush to the desk handle on that block I didn't think he had a chance at it came back up as we said a tailor both nearby it was a deflection on an interception but we still have a one score game as we take the turn for home to the fourth quarter in the EU DL title match San Francisco leads Toronto by one early recognition is critical teaches middle school PE classes about Ultimate Frisbee in cancer symptom awareness we're a your school san Francisco's offense throughout the season has been initiated by number six dogs flocking one of the top goal scoring cutters versatile throwers in the sport and while he hasn't taken office please Chuck can appears he's done for the day as we start this fourth quarter yeah he was very gingerly walking to the huddle and I wouldn't be surprised if he shut down I mean looks like he might you know in a pinch he might come out there but you know almost rather see I'm not trying to play it through whatever's going on this is kind of getting to the fourth quarter in these moments when you have the talent that San Francisco does what would expect them to kind of take all that learning for the first three quarters apply here then potentially even run away with the game but Toronto has been so oppressive with their mentality just come back over and over again offsides you know I've been thinking about this it seems like it's always the team on that side of the field that is getting penalized I think there's been four calls it's always that end zone where the team is getting penalized there must be bad juju down there for what it's worth that as I watched that live I thought Toronto went offside okay look good play good call joy Marci Sanchez Kittridge Linsley Taylor and Rasmussen Taylor to Marcy in 30 seconds they only had to go half the field but it was still a quick strike to throw the opening punt to the fourth you just see Toronto so worried about the guy closest to the disc all the time and they're switching and coming off coaches a date massive Kelly's trying to get in the lane and sometimes it does well you get the block and it could be worth the risk it makes things so easy for San Francisco when they know it's coming and they can just move the disc quickly if I'm game planning for this fourth quarter it's just about moving the disc over and over again getting it national choice hands don't need to overthink it yoke a local looking on trying to pilot the flamethrower is a team he captained in their inaugural season 2014 as a player now is the head coach for the first time mukbang takes a shot Ben Burrell who's been quiet at third quarter away men to start the board for the Toronto offense McKnight that's for a long time in the center handler for Toronto crews does a great job executing on the pole plays very steady and every once in a while they'll get back to what he used to do really well which grip the desk this was so easy as a coach she tried to tell all of your players on offense you have the ability to hit a 95 to 100 percent shot so I had to take that if that's what you're looking at we're all got steps wide-open really hard to not execute on an easy throw good decision by the night [Music] two goals in about 30 seconds to start the fourth yeah here we go what's the scoring record for you Nate a vdl final that would be kind of interesting because this is these are the kind of teams playing at the kind of pace or you could see a record fall today last year's final I believe was 33 27 so they scored 60 in the finals last year Dallas over Seattle Lindsley looking for Kitteridge Daren Wu trailing Kitteridge near the back of the end zone gets the foot down for the goal [Music] who's known for his exciting plays athletic grabs but going up against the master that's a little intimidating Bo's Bo's got some height armies also gotten to some size got to do a better job in this mark you cannot let Lindsley have that free throw it's just in motion and stride with Motown feel and looks like a possession they've practiced 150 times without any defense on the field the defense didn't really do very much three goals in 55 seconds to start the fourth and an onside spool ladies and gentlemen we knew this day would come I was by the way the sixth goal of the game for Boca Trish Carroll gets it to Harris looks off Burrell back to the handler McKnight Carroll there's a good around break Armstrong - link ooh - Harris floating it up there Yearwood sustains possession through the contact it was Lee or guffaw who was so close to the D and now Yearwood grows it too low to the ground and goodness oh my L shaken up looks like he just got his hamstring clawed at the last moments hopefully just a cramp tough mistake for Yearwood he had lots of pressure Sam Ken are coming hard I think he saw that setting up and oh jeez hamstring right there on the sprint that's not a good sign Burrell has been so critical but downfield cutter for Toronto Miura championship weekend now we'll foul bailiffs on the throw mark Lloyd by the way came on the field to replacement Ferrell Harold foul Bayless again seven more of these and his n Francisco Wilkie all the way down the field right yeah Carroll's so close on these arounds but he keeps missing by by an inch or two joy it's a trademark shimmy the swing-off Cantor's hand and then on the second effort Cantor hauls it in this is Michael spear Boyd so close to a D so good at making cleanbid's like that Bayless needed a reset Croft field for Devin Williams looking in zone law I got a piece of this one but it's Sawyer Thompson on the deflection and then Thompson over the top it worked out Cohen in the end zone and the flame throwers match their largest lead of the day and Al good a smart boy - spectacular bids not cha not sure how they didn't come away with it is not at least one of those but San Francisco hangs in there a couple second attempt catches one of the ugliest looking hammers I've ever seen the goal I mean it wasn't poke it you're juggling some confusion here the line has not been called here for Toronto and this is a dangerous time Morrell has gone down you have to figure things out maybe they're just wait Toronto is taking its last timeout with 905 to go trailing by three they've been so resilient through this weekend but it's so tough we've got a close game through three quarters and this is a dangerous moment and it comes down to a lot of belief they got a call on they could get out there and score this one I got to figure out who's gonna take Burrell's place 100 B they'd want mark Lloyd and or Massa Kelly out there maybe that's why they burned a time out yeah to give void below the same time you take Boyd away from the defense you got to you have to score and you have to get brace that's right yeah the recipe yesterday would let the young guys sport boy trouble he certainly doing Harrison the classic belly [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] championship weekends a good time San Francisco B Madison 2390 game number one yesterday MN Terrano upset Dallas 24 21 overcoming an early for goal gap to do it this game has been high-flying offense from the very start massive Kelly's going deep [Applause] he misread it sandwich by San Francisco defenders and Antoine Davis is slow to get up for San Francisco and kind of a floaty disc here let's see what happens Davis clear clearly into the back of Massa Kelly scary moment seeing Lukas Dolman hovering above Massa Kelly trying to find a place to land Chuck even so on top of the body language thing right now I'm looking at the sidelines and seeing a lot of hands on hips for Toronto what are you seeing well yeah I think I think they're tired I think that's primarily what's going on it's been a long weekend the Sun you know we're playing in the middle of the day today there's some injuries there's some fatigue dehydration you got guys cramping one of your best players goes out with a hamstring I think they're just running out of energy possibly I don't see them doubting themselves necessarily though but you know it's getting late in the day here eight and a half minutes we're down three you got it you got to get on a roll current through the disc but his catch with Dallman Dallman back to Kurs near the sideline and he'll rip one can are in pursuit Sam tanner that would have been the play of the day yeah there's a guy with no quick critical offensive possession here for the rush I mean it's almost a must score that you could you could give this one up but it's not likely that you can't give this one up and win this game there was certainly contacted Kearns fouled your wood though it looked like your wood had the first one touch so foul on the throat I see so link was the spout on the throw the reception about 26 23 seven and a half minutes in the fourth quarter of the finals $20,000 on the line and Kevin Cox said yeah I found you but clearly the refs weren't going to make that call spear the game intact your wood and so like we can see with the door shuts it down to retrieve all he was shoving away to what and he's having some fun I think he sees that you know they need to find that last push you need to lighten up have some fun and McKenzie trying to be that spark plug for his team I mean they're so close they are so close to having one of the greatest probably the greatest weekend we've ever seen from a team of the age I mean they knocked out that bed by Sam Cantor they knock out Dallas the juggernaut the defending champs but maybe the three best players of this tournament knocked them out and then roll in here in front of their home crowd against the team that on paper they're not supposed to be able to play with tied at half time even attached the whole game and you know this crowd wants to carry them the rest of the way they just got to give him that give him that reason I don't know why Mark Floyd pulling it's not getting loft on it it's not going very far is there something wrong with his back end we don't know about Oh tough grab by Taylor both wrote kept alive by Sanchez and there's Cassidy Rasmussen doing the rest it has been a tough day for Jonathan Martin but I can't think of how many goals now we've seen his guy catching in the end zone a deep shot if you want to trust him he's had such a great career but I mean these are goals that are coming from there you're wide open [Music] he's just playing even with guys that he can't play even with so you have to respect Cassidy's ability to explode deep you guys been surprised that we haven't seen Karen woo on offense for Toronto today he's been primarily on deep I thought he's played very well for them and maybe they fought with blue they can get he's also got that big game mentality yeah it's a great point I mean I think oline is always about just like really really solid chemistry and guys that have played together for years and he's a new guy this year and that might be part of it Mike Witts getting up the body to keep it alive beat the stall count by one second pressure is stifling right now from San Francisco and down field I mean there's not a lot happening these guys look tired here's Carol under Devin Williams on the mark nasan Kelly for McKnight I wouldn't be surprised sooner or later if you just see a shot go up just because the offense man they just looked tired this is still a good defensive possession you're taking time off the clock first San Francisco providing that pressure your wood to McKnight hello sleepy perhaps not thinking that night it would make that gun [Music] [Applause] [Music] who's gonna be that spark Toronto they need it now here one hand the big boy mistake through the goal line but he has come back to throw the last two goals before the rush they're right there two point game with half a quarter to go plenty of time if you get a turnover though you gotta capitalize on it great handler defense by paola forcing it over the top and Lloyd comes up for the day sending Paolo to the end zone into one goal game [Applause] [Music] [Applause] just a guy who recognizes the moment been the biggest moments of the biggest games are Cloyd just would you know it winds up in the right place and then after he gets to be the perfect he just got ice water two spades this guy knows when to do the right thing I mean I think back to that time he through the infield greatest at the end of the quarter just you think yourself I've never seen anyone try that before and he recognized the moment it made the perfect place just unbelievable [Music] now we see the back end hole from Boyd that's the pull of a champion right there we'll find out and Kitteridge lingering in the handler space Rasmussen looking for Linsley and defending Lin's Lee's got it they say he had a foot outside of the end zone I thought he was in well he gets the assist rather than the goal his leave marks and the official Lindsley not happy I don't blame them but I think it was pretty clear that he was in [Music] Toronto's making the argument that if he wasn't in then he should have set the pivot foot parallel to where you landed at the end zone outside not close to the sideline I mean that is clear as day I don't know how could be clear standing right there well you see I'm trying to set the bar he's got he's got a point justice is probably a San Francisco goal Taylor from Leslie right happened in 22 seconds what a throw from Cassie by the way I mean that was a tight window to throw until you've got poachers in the air you've got to get it over the top of any help defenders drop it in there and hit grant Lindsley and stride because Tim's coming hard I'm so impressed with Cassidy throwing Darin who is out there on offense still no sign of met Burrell suffered the apparent hamstring injury here in the second half Burrell was Toronto's MVP in the semifinal game against Dallas yesterday and barely squeaked over Dallman and woo - Harris goes for Toronto counters nice response by Toronto you know just erase that last point let's come out let's forgo the massive Kelly taps it is you can see something he likes those are the type of missed opportunities that want you right and you know Lucas had one like that right at the beginning of the game remember he had that tomahawk D that was caught on the deflection it's hard to do those ones that are coming really fast right over here had hard to locate the can if it's hard to get your arm up from the right position to make McNab sure to make the flock and if you don't understand why that sorry just talk to Lucas boy the back camp pull angles it to the sideline landing in rolling out San Francisco with 440 to go up by one $20,000 and perhaps even more importantly the championship prestige on the line a little bit of a zone luck with tans hanging out deep and Marcy seemingly shaken up the Sun Sun beating down on players they're getting a little dehydrated they're getting fatigued at the end of the game just seeing seeing calf start to cramp up hamstring start from pool we've talked so much about Toronto nerves the young guys I mean let's play the game of count the world champions on the field right now let's go they have played in so many tight games he like curves just winning recently with me to Ashland Roy has won with Team USA World Games Bo Kittredge oursel Jan Sanchez's 1 and club Mac Taylor grant Leslie pretty much everybody it's true I mean do you think it's hard for them to get up for this game I don't think so I think they live for these games these guys love to be tested they love to come out and compete and of course come out on top Troy stumbled and they won't fall on the foul and kind of unfortunate certainly unintentional don't like it they're clearly behind Toronto now the referees are going to talk about it here that's that's tough it's always the worst nightmare of any defender is to get tangled up in the feet and it affects the place the right ball joy marked by win big by Mackenzie Rasmussen appears to be okay Toronto will have possession down by one Cassidy appealing to Mackenzie Mackenzie just runs away and says now that was clean both teams are out of timeouts we can't call on the sub of fresh 7n canceling the Huq from Powell on the spot now the other way Taylor in pursuit got it Wow what a sequence of events Taylor lands right on that shoulder hopefully he's all right and there's a little discussion going on in the center of the field you know it's interesting Cassidy thought he got fouled on the D referees did not agree Mackenzie did not agree and they played on and then the huge the huge block so here's the play I mean obviously this is incidental it's not on purpose but it affected Ashland Joy's ability to go up and here's the D under Neath a lot to digest here that one was clear I thought Eli had made a great play but it turns out Powell I just giving it to him and here this is this is the white layout form is so important just on the shoulder oof damn they're still down the back of the end zone over there but a huge goal with 329 to go when it looked like the rush were in position to tie it up no Carroll on the field for the offense they're looking to hold here and put Carroll on the D line which you're gonna have to do when you're down cam harris going deep I'll come back for the under looking for wound another majestic shot from Harris whoo beat the Thompson to the spot Toronto needs 17 seconds to make it a walk go damn again hon you called it I mean they put Darren Wu on the o-line get cam Harris out in the lane and goal just like that I mean cam Harris has got to be one of my favorite players to watch when he's down field working and he starts moving at full speed you just pick your poison do you want to do you want to push him under and then get humiliated by his throwing or do you want to try to bait the deep throw and then get out run or sky those are your options Thompson was closed and the put needed to be perfect and as usual with cam hair as it was you spend a lot of times on defense forbearing goals and the final goal is usually if the throw isn't perfect at the block but there's been so many perfect throws in this game you see so many main windows head there's something about the way Ken Harris steps out and just somehow it makes his throws higher percentage I don't know I mean that's a tough throw for anybody but you swear when you watch him throw it it looks routine so later on here in the game we have Dallman out an offense also with Eli Kern's in the backfield Carroll matched up with Kearns and McKenzie once again in Rasmussen Martin chasing Sanchez [Music] Lloyd and Kitteridge one-on-one [Music] Kittridge continues to hang out the handler set maybe is to keep mark blow it away from poaching downfield [Applause] it's also one of those situations beau is so good at dumping the disk and then taking off deep and Lloyd you see him as soon as Beau's releasing that he's trying to get downfield [Music] San Francisco already trying to looks like run out the clock content to move backwards [Music] I can't seize bid unsuccessful I can't see shaken up mark like Mackenzie the younger brother of the end who's been on the rush the past couple of years Mike a rush rookie played 13 games this year though 22 goals 21 DS Errol's also coming out Mackenzie's having himself a game today big bids almost got the D on Brent Linsley and I thought he got to clean me on Cassie on the prior possession hopefully he's alright Carol a little shake up off the sidelines reaching to his groin whose hamstring the trainers coming over tough spot to be on the sidelines San Francisco by one under two minutes to play mark Lloyd's so we're ready to get another coach D Toronto has to be a little bit more aggressive they don't have time as Miss sent to Sanchez San Francisco by two with 81 seconds left [Music] whereas openiy of the goals it quickly [Music] convert well if it was intentional here is a great possession you're just willing to move at some point they lost him was 30 yards go into the backfield they didn't take unnecessary risks and Cassidy's been on fire in the second half the move over the offense the great one after socket of the injury another weapon after all the game planning for joy for Lin's leave her bow over Eli for everybody else gasps he comes over and he goes he acts out here San Francisco reaches the 30 gold plateau for the seventh time this season tops among the final 14 Toronto can't dilly-dally yeah I need to get the D back out on the field here Darrin whoo trying to get a deep look whoa claim more or less centerfield here he knows they're gonna have to just jack it at some point lane twists caris under a minute Antoine Davis on Isaiah maziq Kelly the clock doesn't stop until there's 30 seconds to go so by walking it that bleeds time yeah they really need to get this to the end zone they may not get the look they're hoping for McKnight takes a shot your wood makes the catch 38 seconds left so tricky possession coming up here I mean Toronto really needs to get down and they can't allow any recess they need to bother every throw [Music] mark Lloyd on the left with the disc will be watch you down beside well just drop it there's the time start after the first yet well I was doubting the flick polls earlier with that's a fantastic one downfield immediate double-team San Francisco 506 completions away from clinching a title but if they turn in here it's Rachel wobbly one occurred it's only a one-point game San Francisco does not have a timeout Toronto needs a turnover Dallman back to Kittredge in the end zone to Joy and that should do it Linsley watches the time tick away and for the fourth year in a row both kittredges the champ this year in San Francisco as the flamethrowers win it all in 2017 [Music] 36:29 championship classic and then they made that last point well Toronto put a lot of pressure on San Francisco that's tough reset some near bobbles and misses and you just gotta tip your cap San Francisco's a great team they get what they needed to do down the stretch and hats off to Toronto I'm so impressed with the rush we thought this might be a blowout in San Francisco played their best in Toronto after even after yesterday's win over Dallas I want it now coming into the repeat performance ferrell goes down murano keeps on rolling they look like they're out of sync keep on rolling they fought to the very end gave us a classic of the game so many guys just showed their strength this weekend cam Harris incredible Burrell Harold just the dynamic all-around player guys like link was putting in you know just a great performance in the second half I thought he really came on but the star power that's huge catch for Mac Taylor I mean he's been a real difference maker I know early in the season before the season started rather beau was really intent on trying to recruit Mac Taylor she's a guy who hasn't been playing open lately but those who have played with them know what a special talent is important we're incredible rosters look at these guys any thoughts on who is the MVP today for the flame throwers Cassidy Rasmussen comes over in the second half makes all the difference in the world at a one-point game you saw Lindsley starting to make mistakes you saw joy they were taking it out of his hands they needed somebody else to be that thrower ended up being Cassidy yeah I love the job Byron Lou did on defense and I thought the first half he liked her and so impressive so many different plays just a lot of fun to watch [Music] there'll be a lot of moments when we go back and look at this game little things that could have gone differently in the last time Toronto had the dish with a chance to tie was when Jeff Powell threw it into the arms to be like currency said I think you really stood out it was one of those guys a lot like kasi all-around player he does everything well he beats you down hill they can beat you with the distance great on the very aware great field sense these are the kind of players that that we've come to see the AUD own in the professional level you know it used to be there were specialists used to be just have guys who were tall or fast guys that could throw it now you're getting these superb all around guys like cam Harris like ashlynn joy you could really do anything talk about those hidden plays and kind examinee back one of them that kind of I already think about it Sam Tanner a guy we weren't talking about the beginning and he's an inspiring handler defender whoever gets I say a massive Kelley feet and he gets the best of that matchup yeah that's that's a gut check right there no foul ouka is little damp ice water gatorade spat you know nice job I am - he came in and hair did this scene this is a team that under Foreman his playoffs last year did not make it out of the West and now there's a chance [Music] there's a lot we get the fresh championship gear that's gotta be good Felix [Music] Toronto rush other Italian effort ingested an impressive weekend where they earn a ton of respect to beat Dallas by 3 to hang within one of San Francisco and frankly loving the type of game San Francisco wanted to play with 59 goals 1 goal fewer that we had last year and you know whatever marc lloyd wants to do with his life it's up to him and i wish him the best but i sure hope he's back what a player just has a generational talent he makes the game better this is why we come out to July being you of the looking at games for a long time get excited for a game like this from the Toronto rush the end him he in this game was number 73 [Applause] negatory presenting Toronto's heavy pea awarded Ben Burrell you have to wonder if he doesn't get shaken up leading the game how big of a difference that might have made he was such a huge part of this weekend and then really the deserving MVP for Toronto on the offensive side [Music] it's always tough to go down to I'm sure he would want to finish out that game [Music] [Music] trophy presentation still the comic [Music] the 60s of 2017 AUL champions [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and now you're defending champions you win their strength before the Commissioner of the other medialis or network [Applause] [Music] Bonjour guru three unreal [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I also xx I know but you have a disability right here [Music] these mosquitos here [Applause] [Music] final rush they've won at once and they've been here twice where they didn't quite get it done I know they're extremely disappointed but great team put a great showing on and we're very proud to see what you guys did I hope you're proud of yourselves can I have the captain's come up guys in the in the ADL the the runner up team gets a check for $5,000 which I'd like to present now with the regulations guys that leaves us with the San Francisco flamethrowers [Applause] before getting to the team itself I want to congratulate the leadership team of San Francisco a group of guys that are very passionate about ultimate put a lot of time and effort in and it showed with the team that you put together and then the result that you had so congratulations [Applause] I've got to presentation to make to San Francisco if I could have the captain's first as I just mentioned with Toronto they get a check for 5,000 the winning team gets a check for 20,000 [Music] [Applause] [Music] and now if I can still have the captain's ready to crown the 2017 ADL championship team congratulations guys [Applause] [Applause] gonna mean a lot to Lukas Dolman who has been a flame thrower from the very beginning and everybody merci thank you it's been a great season thanks so much for all that you've done Thank You San Jose spiders tried to pull him into that fold he refrained wanted to build something with the ownership in San Francisco and today they reach the peak San Francisco the a UDL champions [Music] Brian Chuck your final thoughts on a classic can't be achieved in just a lot of fun to watch this game is two teams that both came to play really powerful opposite great defensive pressure the whole game on both sides it was hard to pick the winner so much talent from San Francisco in the end it was too much but incredible heart determination from Toronto they kept chugging along after point after point when they could go down and fault they never did just one point short we'll have continuing postgame coverage on the AUD LTV / line of the udl Facebook page clinics interviews with the champions but for now we say so long a great championship game a privilege to bring it to you Brian tire fulcrum media crew for Megan tormak and Chuck kindred Fran John's Evan Leffler here saying congratulations to the flamethrowers the 2017 a udl champions [Music] you you you
