Thanks for making my day
You have to admit it.. Billy Beane did a hell of a job with almost no resources. What kind of bothers me about the whole moneyball thing, is Sandy Alderson's role is largely forgotten except by those who have really studied the topic. But that's not to say Beane doesn't deserve a lot of the praise tho.
I find this extremely crazy considering the Mariner's 2001 season and how the A's were pretty good prior to 2001 too.
It's funny seeing coco almost making a great diving catch against the A's
Another awesome video ruined by an awful and unnecessary soundtrack...
edit: it took me three tries but I made it through it, and I'm glad they left out the music for the last few games. I still think the soundtrack was unnecessary. Also, fuck yeah Scott Hatteberg.
I remember being there for the 20th win. I was with my brother as a little kid. I remember when Hatte hit that home run and they lowered the 20 sign. From that moment on, I knew I would love baseball forever. Such a beautiful moment.
Anyone who enjoyed this video, I'd recommend watching Money Ball.
I teared up when Hatteberg hit that homerun.
I fucking love baseball.
Ah, it's good to look back on these days. This was my second year of following baseball at all. Even without a world series, safe to say the A's have been consistently good for a while.
