[Music] hey it's megan welcome back to another dollar store video this time i'm sharing my best ever top 20 from this year what makes a best ever to me it's a diy that doesn't look like a diy i can proudly display it in my home and it doesn't look cheap and with all that said we're getting started right now this first diy is really cool because it's a technique that can be used on many other diys from trash to treasure or revamping an old vase lamp vessel that you have on hand that you want to give a makeover all you need is some caulk from dollar tree or dollar general they both carry it for about one dollar and just wipe that all over your plant base vessel lamp whatever you're making over then snatch up some of dollar tree sand sprinkle that all over your planter we're making a planter someone refer to it as a planter and just swipe that back and forth after that dries you can paint it the color of your toys i always prefer spray painting but you can definitely hand paint if you prefer hand painting and you could totally stop right there go no further it looks great painted just as is the texture alone looks amazing but if you want to take it up a level or make it match your stone you have outside or make it look more like an aged stone statue look almost that's what it reminds me of you can just take two to three acrylic colors sponge it all over the planter and this really really shows off the texture i love the way this turned out not just the planter the technique itself is so cool there's so many things that you could do with this and the cool thing is because this caulking interior exterior you can put this outside y'all and it holds up just fine and we're on to the next one where all you need to do is snatch up two matching bowls they don't have to be the same color just the same style from dollar tree or walmart walmart's probably cheaper but you know if it's uh closer to go dollar tree no big deal go to dollar tree you can snatch them up there glue your bowls together butt to butt using a permanent or stronghold glue i used gel super glue and then you can hand paint or spray paint the bowls the color of your choice grab some wicks dollar tree sells a candle making kit but i like to buy my wicks from michaels i'll use a coupon and get six wicks for like two dollars then round up all of your almost burnt down candles and melt those on medium to low heat for about 35 to 45 minutes after that's done all you got to do is pour your wax into your candle and that's it easy peasy lemon squeezy you got yourself a really nice candle now when i originally made these i tried putting some lemon and eucalyptus incense in there because i heard it would repel bugs i didn't really see a difference i had these outside but either way i love these candles they smelled amazing and the cool thing is after they're done you can clean it out and then just reuse them so i made them over for fall by just painting the tops brown and orange and then using some textured spray paint by rust-oleum this looked really cool too so the great thing about this diy is it's customizable you can use it all year long revamp it and it's so budget-friendly and it's a great way to use up your almost burnt down candles for number three all you need is a three to four of these larger signs from dollar tree now if you couldn't find these in dollar tree no worries my friend home depot all you gotta do go there snatch up one eight foot long strip for less than two dollars have them cut it down for you that's actually cheaper especially now that dollar tree has raised their prices so whether you are using home depot's wood or some dollar tree signs use gel super glue or wood glue to attach all four of your boards together now i went a step further because i'm using this as an actual working tray and used a staple gun to attach my boards together but that's really not necessary because wood glue and gel super glue do have a stronger hold but like i said i wanted to use this as a working tray like pick it up move it around so that's what i did then you can just paint it the color of your choice i used heirloom white by rust-oleum it's one of the spray paint colors i always have on hand but once again you can always just hand paint this just the same then you just need some of dollar trees at faux leather ribbon and some push pins i just pulled these off of my cork board but i'm 99 sure i actually bought these from dollar tree and you can push it into the side of the board i could probably push it all the way in with my finger if i tried but it was just easier to take a hammer and just nail it right in and that's it we got ourselves a nice little working tray i ended up putting corkboard on the bottom of mine i originally had this outside but soon after i made it i actually moved it to the living room because it's the perfect size for the little side table where we can put our remotes and our coasters it looks nice this is a great diy to me because it doesn't look like a diy it doesn't look like a dollar tree diy and whether you use the real wood from home depot or these larger chunky signs from dollar tree it's gonna look great and we're on to the next one you just need two plastic buckets from dollar tree that are the same size duct tape those bad boys together and then we have a few options my friend so one really cool way to make this over is just to snatch up a summer dollar tree's polyrope you get 50 feet for a dollar which is a really good deal now their real nautical rope they've been taken down the amount they've been selling for a dollar for a long time and even before they change the prices i no longer thought it was a great deal so i'm gonna have two rope stores i bought from amazon in the past linked in the description now these places do change their prices but they're not always going up they're going up they're going down so if the first one isn't the same as what i showed on the screen try the next one or wait a few days seriously they change by the day then all you gotta do is just wrap up your two bins with rope and call it a day and that is it get yourself a nice little stool this would look great indoors or outdoors use it as a plant stand to put your lemonade on when you're outside just chilling by the fire for the summer and i do have a modification for this diy though so if you are gonna put this outside and just keep it outside like i did about a month later it started to lift on the top and i've never had that happen with hot glue before but to fix this i just went back with some caulk and applied to that underneath the rope pushed it down and then it's been great ever since so if i were to redo this diy i would probably from the start add caulking and hot glue to make it last longer so here it is two day you know nine months later it's going strong it's faded a little bit but it's been outside the entire time i love the way this turned out to be a great way to revamp any old bucket you have laying around the house or old planters too you don't need to go out to dollar tree to buy anything new and we are on to number five where all you need to do is grab a smaller glass bowl from dollar tree or anywhere really and then one of dollar tree's garden dishes use hot glue and gel super glue or some type of stronghold glue permanent stronghold glue to attach the two bowls together and then you can spray paint it or hand paint it the color of your choice now if you're going to use like chalk paint you're going to hand paint i would suggest using mod podge to paint it first to help your paint stay and stick last longer or mod podge over top of it to kind of seal in whatever paint color you chose and that's it this is great for just decor but the way we use it is we use it for oranges or bananas on the kitchen counter now number five goes perfectly with this diy all you need is some shatterproof ornaments you're not using anymore dollar tree sells these but i think most of us probably have some type of ornament or toy ball we aren't using all you got to do is hot glue some dollar tree potpourri all over your decorative balls now depending on what color your balls are you may need to paint the balls first so you don't have like glittery green gold yellow silver whatever shiny through but super simple to do and this is such an easy diy and it makes a really nice decor piece now keep in mind any ball that you hot glue the potpourri to almost double in size so this makes really nice size decorative balls but you can do so many other things with the ornaments for example i think it'd be really cool to do what the latina next door did by just wrapping some balls up in rope because this looks super nice but i also want to clarify something so in a previous video i mentioned hey this diy is inspired by the latina next door and a lot of people in the comments that i was talking about my next door neighbor no it's actually a youtube channel it's my girl yami and actually she's also uploading like 21 of her best ever diys today so i'll have her channel linked in the description definitely check her out if you haven't already for number seven you just need three to four packs of the value size tumbling tower game from dollar tree now even after dollar tree changes its prices up to 125. i still think these are a great deal in fact i had to order i had a project in mind and i had to order a box of the value pack so i paid for shipping i had to ship it to my house and i ended up paying like a dollar fifty per box and i still think it's a great deal now optional you can coffee stain your blocks i love to coffee stain i like the way it looks and i also coffee stained half the batch twice so we can get more dimension and contrast then you just need some wood glue and some type of wood plank now dollar tree sells wood planks so you can totally use that but i just get free wood off of facebook market it's really easy to do i wish i would have known about this a lot sooner and all you got to do is take your wood glue and glue your jingle blocks to your wood piece like these are real wood blocks give that time to totally dry and then your wood pieces will not match up totally 100 so up close you see what it looks like that's okay it's such an easy fix all you have to do is take a little bit more wood glue put that in the cracks lightly rub it into the cracks like a damp paper towel and then go back and just lightly sand the sanding uh dust i guess turns in to almost like a wood filler the same stain that the blocks are and you can't even tell you can't see the cracks are gone and it works so great then i got these handles from habitat for humanity restore but chuck dollar tree they'll have handles on clearance or yard sales i mean people will throw away dressers with handles all the time too and this is a real working tray i love the way this looks this is such a cool tray i ended up sealing it with just some clear spray paint kept it outside and this thing is awesome it's going strong one of my all-time favorite diys ever for number eight all you need is a thicker frame from dollar tree or a thrift store really any any frame that is has a deeper back remove the backing and then hot glue the glass into place then you just need some pressed a flowers press dried flowers if you don't have any you can just go on a walk pick some flowers put some paper towels in a book and wait about two weeks and you got yourself some pressed flowers that's what i did this is a really great way to preserve flowers that you have from a wedding or a funeral and then all you got to do is just hot glue your flowers in place and if you have itty bitty little petals like i did you can use some spray adhesive just lightly spray it and when it dries it dries enough where you really can't see it especially once we put the second frame on top glue that into place hang it with some rope where i just use a garden chain from dollar tree and that is it so these are actually from my my dad passed away earlier this year and i just think it's a really pretty way to hold on to flowers just a little bit longer and they really do look the same the day that i made this so they're going strong it's held up really great for about five months now and for number nine all you need is two door mats from dollar tree it doesn't matter the style or even if they match duct tape them together and then use something like i used a dollar tree hula hoop but you can use a large trash can or you can just freehand it and trace out a half circle cut one side down then i found it easier instead of just trying to cut exactly even i flipped it over and then mocked that on the opposite side then all you got to do is just snatch up some of a dollar tree's nautical ivory rope two to three packs and this rope is really chunky i still think it's a good deal for a dollar 25 honestly and you're gonna pull it apart so you're gonna have one single strand and then the two strands can easily be twisted back together to make a rope another rope look so you're gonna take your two strands we just twisted back together hot glue that all the way around i was able to go twice so pretty much two times and then with your one single strand you're going to cut that down as many times as you would like and tie it over into little kind of like ghost heads you can pick out the bottom strings at the bottom it looks like a tassel it's a really easy way to make a tassel then you can hot glue that to the side of your rug i just use some fishing line and a larger upholstery needle to attach this to my rug it didn't take long at all and then you got a few options my friend now i already mentioned how dollar tree's really been like taking up the prices of the rope here's another rope store and this time it's 10.95 for only 200 feet which is such a great deal so if you're gonna make this 100 dollar tree which is fine your prerogative your diy you would need about 15 to 17 packs of rope depending on what length of rope you got then all you gotta do is just keep a wrapping and rolling and changing out from white to the nautical rope as many times as you want and i'm not cutting at the bottom each time i'm folding over and if i do have to cut i just tie that off so it stays in place and so for ten dollars and we're like 11 i still have a lot of rope left over from the amazon store so for a total of i used let's just go ahead and say the whole ten dollars and for fifteen dollars i have a really nice looking rug like i love the way this turned out i have it in my kitchen you could definitely use this outside too but this is the perfect rug i need it for my kitchen and then i just went back and hot glued a no slip rug on the bottom and it stays in place just fine for this next one you just need a hanging wire garden basket and some more poly robe the poly rope comes in white and black the white poly rope comes when 25 feet but it's a lot thicker than dollar tree's black poly rope originally i spray painted the wire basket white totally not necessary i didn't realize that till after i was done because we are wrapping the rope in between each one of the bars on the wire basket by the time you are done wrapping over and under over and under you can't see any of the wire basket except the very bottom hole you see the very bottom ring where there's a hole and i don't think that matters very much on the top i just wrapped it just wrap it around no special technique and then i used some leftover rope i pulled off of an old diy instead of the garden chains that this basket comes with to hang my planter and now dollar tree sold one dollar plant liners which is such a good deal i didn't even see them until last year i wish i would have stocked up over the summer when it was still one dollar but oh well i think a dollar 25 is probably still a good deal unless someone knows of a better deal out there let me know but here's my elephant bush it looks great and if you're wondering this is what the planter looks like today so december 2021 planter pretty much yeah it still looks the same that white polyrope it doesn't fade the other ropes faded a little bit but that's no big deal walmart sells cent waste baskets dollar tree also has about the same size either one of these will work for this diy the waste basket i'm using is actually from dollar tree but it's gonna be really busted and just messed up looking it's a diy i made a few years ago and so i'm taking that apart and reusing the wastebasket and actually the brown nautical rope is the rope i just used on the last diy to hang that bad boy up anyways all you need is a larger bowl and you can get these from dollar tree just the same and you're going to poke drainage holes because we're making a planter now if you're not a rope fan then hey this diy's for you we are not using rope in this diy my friend then all you got to do is hot glue your bowl and planter together and we're making a planter so from now on i'm going to refer to this as a planter then we're going to use our caulking and sand trick again but we're going to have a little bit of a twist on it and i think this is a really cool diy one i was able to see just how well this technique works and how really it covers up any type of imperfections but two it gave me a chance to experiment with different coloring and texturing of this so apply the sand in the caulking just like we did on the first diy and just don't forget to poke out your drainage holes then you can paint it the color your choice and originally i thought i wanted it to be matte black but i really wasn't digging the way that looked when it got done so i went back with some hammered copper spray paint and i just gave it a very light dusting now i told you that i spray painted it black first and then went back and spray painted it copper next because if you want the exact same look you will need to spray paint black and then go copper and then i also made a smaller planter just using a 50 cent bowl from walmart and a 50 cent cup all the steps were the same the only difference is um the plastic was really thick so i had to use a drill to drill the drainage holes in the cup and in the bowl everything else is the same i did the sand and caulk technique painted black spray painted gold and that was it i'm really in love i know i say that like all the time about all my diys but i really loved these because i was really impressed with the technique and how this just transformed the planters especially the larger planter because i didn't pick off any of that rope that was still left in hot glue like the rope buzz and the hot glue that was left on the planter before applying the caulking and sand and that really covered that up and if you're wondering what these look like today they look the exact same like i said rust-oleum spray paint is great it's interior exterior caulking is interior and exterior too just the same for number 12 this is so simple and easy maybe one of the easiest diys you just need a bubble vase from dollar tree walmart or dollar general they all sell them and some 3d pop-up stickers stick those all over your face and to really give it a cool look to make these in pairs you can get a smaller size bubble base and these smaller size stickers and then just spray paint them now i use these same i pretty much use like the same five paint colors i keep those on hand but as always you can of course you can spray paint these i really love the hammered metal look though because of the way the paint dries it kind of bunches up to give that hammered metal look so when this candle is lit at night it looks so cool i love the way both of these candles look i think the smaller sticker look is actually more my favorite so if i were to do it over i might just do all smaller stickers on both bubble bases and now here's a quick and easy diy that looks so high-end does not look dollar tree at all you just need two to three of these small little wooden crates and then some scrap wood or if you're lucky enough to find wood at your dollar tree use that just the same or another idea would be you can go to home depot lowe's they'll sell scrap wood sometimes they'll just give it away for free and if you do buy it it's like less than a dollar they'll even cut the wood down for you for free now i coffee stained my wooden crates because my scrap wood was a little bit darker than the very light wood the crates were i didn't touch my scrap wood that i got and all i gotta do is just take some wood glue and i do recommend wood glue for this make sure your wood glue is interior exterior if you are putting this outside and apply your crates to your scrap wood or dollar tree bop wood whatever wood you're using now i do want to say i did put a little bit of wood glue in the corners of the crate 2 to keep it in place and now we have a few more options my friend you can use one of these metal letters or words that dollar tree sells for spring and easter or christmas you can stencil a name on there or letters on there i made this for a neighbor so she gave me some house numbers that she already had so that's what i added to this and then to hang this you can just get some mug cups dollar general sells these for just one dollar and then i used part of the plant hanger that came with the hanging plant wire basket we did in a diy beauty eyes wise back and that's how i hung this or that's how she hung this and then she didn't put the flowers directly into the wood she put little planter cups in there and this is held up really cool it looks great like i'm really impressed i told her i wasn't 100 for sure that the wood crates would stay together but they have and it still looks good today number 14 so quick and easy you just need one plate from dollar tree this is not a super large plate i would say a smaller to medium size and one of their smaller metal tins hot glue those together and then do the same thing with dollar tree's charger plate and one of their larger metal garden tins for longevity use a stronghold glow glow for longevity use the stronghold glue like gel super glue you can use these 6000 i'm not an e6000 gal i know they make odorless but it gives me a headache even if i can't smell it i don't know what it is i like the way gel super glue works and then you can just spray paint these or i say that spray paint or hand paint just know it's pretty much interchangeable unless i say otherwise you can always spray paint or hand paint i love these because you can use these indoors serving for dinner or i just use them outside for planters on my porch and we are on to the next one this is so many things that dollar tree fit perfectly together like these cloches clutches i'm still not sure which way to say it i've heard it said both ways the cloches slash clashes and this cement feel or cement look i'm not sure exactly what material it is probably ceramic candle holder those two fit perfectly together how how this looks so high-end to me it's just a cool way to display stuff now you can do anything with this i got this to display some dried flowers that i have and i have this by my bed i love the way it looks it kind of almost reminds me of like a beauty and the beast type feel but i made another one because i don't know it's just a cool little just a little extra up i think to give your decor a little bit of extra snazz and i also use this outdoors for the matches and the candles last summer to put them in so when it rained they wouldn't get wet now when i originally made this video i had two different wreaths in here and i took one out because i think i'm the only like wreath fanatic i i know people don't get as excited about wreaths as i do but i'm telling you you can still make some really nice wreaths from dollar tree you just need five flowers you know different sizes and different colors and then you can pick up five eucalyptus picks from walmart and this is only 97 cents so in total so far including the wreath form we have spent 11. now in order to use just five of the eucalyptus picks you want to make sure you spread them and fluff them out you're not just stabbing them in and leaving they're all stiff you want to fluff it out then add your larger flowers and go back and add your smaller flowers and this looks great as is you got to fluff it out to hide those bald spots you know kind of like your hair sometimes i have really thin hair but game time decision i went back and added some baby's breath although this didn't make it more full so you could totally omit that so i took this from an 11 wreath to a 12 wreath and i love love love this wreath i kind of wish i would have used a different larger size flower well no i don't wish that i want to make another one but i use this right after christmas and i'll use it all the way through spring i actually use this for summer and i kept meaning to make a different one with more summer-like flowers but i love the way that wreath looks now one deal that i think is still a good deal for a dollar 25 at dollar tree will be their wall stickers some of them like this jumbo wall map now this is not 100 accurate and we'll get into that later but you could also use two of dollar trees mdf board signs like their home signs but where signs whatever you have and glue those together like the most of this video i'm using scrap wood just because it lasts longer it's free and in my opinion it it looks better sometimes and i just stuck the stickers on now like i said it wasn't totally accurate so i i just cut out some pieces to kind of it's not accurate but like something's going to be there instead of nothing you know what i'm saying and then just painted over that to hang this the scrap wood i used was super lightweight and i just used command strips on the back so this is totally decorative this is not totally accurate but i love the way this looks i put this in my son's room so but i think this would look really cool in an office a kid's room um a living room it just you know if you have like a wonderlust travel style in one of your if that's just your whole style this would look great too or just a sophisticated look in a classroom number 18 i originally planned to give as a gift and it's just such a cool diy you can use pumpkin spice or cinnamon any nice smelling spice and one of dollar trees glass cups but by the way i did see the same glass cups at walmart for 94 cents also just the same and then you just need some candles preferably white at least one of them needs to be white you're going to melt them down but do not fill up your cup all the way okay then you're going to go back with your leftover wax add as much or as little spice as you'd like enough to make it a darker brown and pour that on the top of the candle before this is all the way dry what really almost the sprinkles on the top the icing or the cherry on the top sprinkle some more of the pumpkin spice or cinnamon or whatever spice you're using and it makes it look just like a cappuccino it also smells really really nice too and if you're wondering what it looks like when it burns down this i mean it burns fine it still looks cool from the outside as it burns down it doesn't smell as good i would say once it gets to or the smell isn't as strong once it gets to the white part but it works just fine and for number 19 you just need two door mats we're making an outside door mat so we're not using any rope and the door mats do need to match for this one flip them over so the words or the design is on the back duct tape them and then use some hot glue to add some shelf liner or you can use a non slip rug underlayment but you know what the shelf liners in my opinion actually works better and it's cheaper by the roll so either one works though then tape it off and then just spray paint it i used white so this could be used year-round and that's it it's done then you can layer this up i used a dollar general five dollar welcome mat for fall and then i use this for christmas too if you're wondering how long this will last a long time so if you go back to last year's video last year's my top 20 video i shared a different door mat that i made so two years ago and i'm still using that and after christmas that's what i'll switch back to i just wanted a darker style for fall and christmas like the spray paint doesn't fade at spray paint have you ever accidentally spray painted a shoe or something or your clothes it really doesn't come off and we are on to the very last one where you just need some of dollar tree's pop-up stickers and any tray you can use a dollar tree tray but check out walmart's clearance section y'all you can find some really cool diy hidden gems there all you gotta do is just put the stickers all over your tray and this is something else that would work really cool on a planter we've done that i'm on candles you could do it on a lamp decorative balls even i bet this would look really cool if you did this on decorative balls and then go back and spray paint now the cool thing about the spray painting is because i wasn't for sure how how well it was going to look after spray painting if you could just tell that it was stickers since these stickers came in lines but you can't and the cool thing about the spray paint is it kind of coats it and really seals it in so the stickers are not popping off or sticking off like it almost molds it to the tray it looks like just one big piece and by the way those coasters and that cross was in last year's top 20 video just like the rug i was talking about now this diy didn't make the list because it was in a video that i was really just showing things that you could do with dollar tree and the complete diy i didn't use all dollar tree just the top of the bench which we also did very very similar to the tray we made except i did not stain the jingle pieces first so to finish this you have to have table legs and that's why i can't really like fairly put it in a dollar store diy because you can't get table legs or substitute it for anything at a comparable price for a dollar but i love the way this bench turned out by the way total price 23 23. under 23. that includes the table legs love the way this turned out hey that is it thank you so much for watching my friend and i will catch you next time
