I feel like they had to know that the other was at least slightly acting. Pretending like they weren't totally sure was over the top. Especially given the way they handled the pieces, I feel like someone who's THAT much of a noob would be a lot less delicate and quick fingered than they were. I, for one, slapped the hell out of the buzzer the one time my friend made me play him in timed chess.

The way they both moved their pieces made it seem like they knew what they were doing. the flick of the wrist to move the pieces looked like something they had done thousands of times.
