nothing with two minutes left in the first quarter [Applause] francisco across the 30-yard line for andres act his last pass picked off by gary richard that set up that scoring drive and set up the short field green hammers his way up across the 35-yard line little flare out way too high for a wide open mark green there is a real surprise braxton banks 39 checks in for the irish and out of the two-point conversion and the panthers lead the unbeaten irish 14 to nothing panthers ball at their own 43 second and 13 janella to hayward this fires a little bit too far that's all all year the rest of those points mistakes janella can't run for the first down he's got it and more out of bounds adam walker 29 checks in at wide out along with henry tooten 81 first and ten riddick former defensive back with four five speed down to the 27 and chris getz number 72 now the new right tackle dives down to the 25-yard line first and ten for the pittsburgh panthers they lead 14-0 there goes hayward and iron head bangs it down to the 20-yard line hurdles over one man and gets down to about the 17-yard line where the panthers have a commanding 14-nothing lead at the 16-yard line of notre dame it's third and one unbalanced line to the right and that's why iron man this defense with their backs up against it now look at that stat notre dame was just one first down they haven't had the ball on the post dropped at the 23 into double coverage to take advantage of the receiver as we pointed out at the top of the show always knows where he's going the defenders do not not utilizing brown to [Music] left and right a little draw goes to banks bangs his way across the 10 up near the 12. big five yards necessary for notre dame terrell wide to the top of your screen brown in the slot rice won't get it that way osaski the middle linebacker phelan will punt austin is back deep this is a line drive austin on the dead run at the 41. hammers his way to the 30 and the panthers have good field position young man gaining confidence with every snap he played a great first quarter the jury was out until sal led pittsburgh to two quick first touchdown hayward barrels around the left side down to the 23. [Applause] osbourne in motion first down for pitt they keep it on the ground line of scrimmage the 17 of notre dame frank inside the 15. williams wide to the right heard wide left down inside the 10 caliguire in the backfield hayward at the five brandy wells rode him out of bounds
