1978 KZ650 Walk Around, Cold Start, and Test Ride

i'm going to walk you around this kz 650 this was a restoration of frame off restoration that was done in 2020 it has anything on here that was you know worn or rusty was replaced with very few exceptions and they even did plating you can see the plating on these that bolt is not new that's the bolt that was on and the nut and you can see that they did the touches of the little yellow paint and so forth but it's extremely clean and it really runs well i mean it just it just purrs the chain is new the sprockets are new these have all been re-replated a lot of time and care was taken on this they even found the really nice seat cover the paint is a base coat clear coat and this is really really a dead nuts match for original and this is uh the original striping package that comes out of canada and it was done in a theme that you would have if you were back in the day 1978 they did the foam grips and they lowered the bars they put the pods and then a four into one exhaust and as you can see the fork seals were replaced the the front fork legs were taken off disassembled completely polished and they were polished in a way to look factory not so shiny that it looks like chrome anything that was old or rusty was fixed and it was re released with new spokes oh this stuff all is either new or replated and you can just look inside it's you know really clean there's not a speck of dirt there is a little imperfection in the striping and i think that's where the painter might have had to re-apply one or more of the stripes and they they really aren't a big deal but there's that and if i had to pick other things out there's a a little you know the exhaust pipe is a little worn it's actually a little dusty it's been sitting this is a boot mark and all of the badges were hand done and redone so now let's do a cold startup all right it's showing like 80 84 84 degrees the ground is 95 degrees [Music] so let's give it a start little choke needs a little more joke so uh and it's a little cold-blooded is all the kz 650 so there is the cold start there you go okay now it's warmed up i'm gonna take it and run it down through the gears and back so you know everything works [Music] [Music] me [Music] so and there you go
