1972 Skyline Hakosuka Transformation

wait without a bumper what do you think i like it yeah i wish the lip was still on there though yeah yeah welcome back to another vlog we are as you can see project hakosuka has begun so we are taken apart motors coming out um once the motor is out we're shaving tucking the engine bay and already well you know extra shave extra tuck and get this girl looking the way i want her to be going in the body shop and um yeah what'd you say what what do you say [Music] wait what'd you say all right well yeah we're gonna be uh obviously doing a complete uh transfer transformation on this car we'll be showing you guys the step-by-step process in the shop and everything we're doing our turbo my turbo yeah yeah 57-57 look at that turbo triple plated chrome yeah baby but anyway yes we just started taking it all apart a lot more work here that we're doing big man right here taking care of this gtr got a lot of work to this yeah i'm excited for this it's gonna be nice you can tell you guys can tell this car shoots a flame or two this is all like discoloration here fire that's like the edge of your bumper as your bumper charcoal from the fireballs he shoots out of that thing now so all right yeah all right let's get this thing uh let's get it going there and get all the fluids out we can get this motor out of here what what nothing he panicked i was like nesto's in here we're moving stuff already i set up yesterday got a lot of the cleaning done so they can get everything cut out so we can get everything of course situated [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] day three officially has begun we got our friend matt here he's uh he's in charge of day three later on nestor will be back so we can do the rest of the stuff but um what are you doing today bud uh so we're getting all the original fuel lines and brake lines off then we're also removing the entire front suspension so we can clean and paint it cool sweet yeah everything's going everything's going smooth to this point so far so i'm not going to jinx myself everything's been going all right we've had no uh no issues no problems everything's been great the car's overall in in good shape i mean uh looking at everything but with removing everything and and really going over it i'm actually very happy with what i see to this point but you know we're going to keep digging away and keep doing what we're doing get her ready so yeah we'll uh we'll be doing a time lapse of today's work as well so that way you guys can see uh in depth like what we're what we're dealing with here and what we're going to be doing matt's going to be tackling this uh entire suspension and the whole whatever's left of the engine bay getting everything removed so that way we can get everything of course welded and cleaned out today so that's what i'm looking forward to so welcome back everybody day four of project takasuka as you guys see the subframe is back up and not installed back to the car we pretty much we're pretty much done as far as the prep work is concerned i mean all the holes are patched up everything we need to do what we're doing here tomorrow i mean you guys can see we cleaned everything up the holes are patched yeah all the holes are done all except for the necessary ones of course to show you guys something odd this is all factory never ever been touched and we weren't too thrilled about how this looks um huh well that whole see the line here you know that whole thing i'm not too crazy about that even though this side's a little tighter like the separation the separation so what we're doing tomorrow is we're we're actually going to be dropping a bead again across that whole thing we're gonna clean it all up um really make it all like one piece so it looks really clean especially when the bodywork is gonna be completed so we're um slowly but surely moving um we're getting there where we want to be we're a couple days away from getting the bay um prepped right mr nesto yeah yeah couple days or so mesto our buddy from you guys have seen in other videos from backyard bodywork backyard body yeah backyard bodyworks backyard bodies backyard bodies what the i messed up on that one yeah backyard bodies you know um as always has been helping us uh with everything we do here so we're very happy about that but yeah we'll um we'll give you guys another update tomorrow let you know where we're at uh inside of course it's a disaster area we have gold everything we have pulled everything so we're um you know we're almost there we're almost there so after days of prepping we are finally at the point where we are laying down the primer it's not look really really good can't wait to see what this thing's going to look like when it's all primered up nesto working his magic here man so clean it's going to look awesome once it's all done the sun's kind of killing us right now but we'll push it back in and show you once it's all finalized what it looks like the man right there working his magic [Music] oh [Music] we are getting the brake line lines run and done matt here is uh working his magic uh we're going to be waiting for nesto again later to come back so that he can touch up the bay but as you guys can see it's coming along slowly but surely um matt what'd you what'd you do today man uh so we got the 6am fuel line ran from the back to the front uh we're getting ready to start working on all those lines getting them all straightened and set up uh we have done the brake lines today so we custom then to all the brake lines for the front we have some firewall pass-throughs that we custom got from summit racing so we've bent the lines put all those in this brake line used to run up and across the firewall and now he's gonna have it hidden underneath the motor um same with the distribution block used to be up here now we've got everything nice and clean down here uh re-ran a new brake line to the back as well so just getting it all set up cool cool yeah and then we said uh you're doing some mods on the uh the uh the block too the engine right uh with the fuel with the cars and yeah i'll show you yeah cool cool yeah i'll show everybody what that's going to look like but yeah everything's uh you know just all new lines everything even uh even here you guys it's even in the slave cylinder we got all custom lines made up this is courtesy of bats here in sarasota we want to thank those guys a shout out to them eric at bats has helped us out a great deal with a lot of the stuff we need but um yeah matt's uh coming up with some pretty good ideas here on how to kind of customize everything and make it look a lot more uh prettier so to speak i guess pretty is a good word custom yeah but yeah we got all this going on here so really we're going to look basically kind of like this [Music] we're making our own custom fuel rail here so we're going to have another one we'll have another one right here okay and then we're making two custom lines one here and then one here with a 90 degree that comes out sweet and then off of here we'll have another 90 that's going to come around to our fuel pressure regulator yeah that'll look pretty cool it'll look really good once it's done yeah excellent excellent so yeah we wanted to give everybody an update every day i tell everybody how far we're getting but we're moving right along cars should be ready to go uh in in for paint well obviously for prep and paint i would hope uh this weekend uh that's what we're hoping for so uh yeah we'll keep everybody updated hope you guys uh like what you see uh let us know uh your give us your thoughts your comments uh we always uh i mean it doesn't mean we use them but we always take them yeah and that's going there fuel regulators going right there okay sweet it's gonna look good it's gonna look good all right over and out for right now another update in a little while okay well something is missing from here cars all loaded up we're now getting ready to bring it to the shop we're dropping it off with my buddy miguel's we got to unload uh this this girl from it and we're getting ready to take off right now yeah so you know we're uh gonna show you guys uh a bunch of clips anyway when we're at the body shop while the pr while it's progressing and then this one's next as well this one's going to be leaving uh in a day or two to to head out so that way she can get uh pampered and uh treated the way she should be of course so yeah right what do you think thank you sturge [Music] for me personally i set a standard with this car yeah and it got to that point and everything that could go wrong went wrong the motor the paint well you know what she'll be fixed just like we fixed a million other things give everybody an update too on the l28 the l28 i'm actually doing if you guys could see we're doing hard lines of course for the uh carburetors so we're actually doing all a en fittings it's gonna look pretty cool uh cleaned everything up while it was out new water pump we'll pump all that stuff we changed everything up um i mean what better time to do it than now while it's just sitting here but um gonna get everything else touched up cleaned up so yeah progress progress we are three not even we're about 19 days away from our deadline uh for our buddies uh showdown at the raymond james stadium at uh clash of kings five so that's where the car is going to be introduced uh and shown so off to the uh off to the body shop so we'll we'll uh we'll have you guys tag along with us all right so we just got to the body shop this is my friend miguel mcr enterprise he painted my gtr as well a while back there she is sitting here nice and comfy waiting her turn we got a brand new balance that was uh shipped over uh this balance came in from japan it's going to replace the one in the front it doesn't necessarily need it but we have it so we're going to do this now while we can engine bay is all set ready to go they're going to add whatever whatever other finishing touches so yeah they got a really cool fast pack there as well as that the mustang uh nice maserati in the background also these guys do a lot of great work clean work i've been very very happy with everything with him in the past or you know we'll continue to work with him but uh yeah everything is good to go we're here dropping her off so see ya see ya so we're leaving her and color color guys wait do you see the video we're probably gonna stop the video here after the um i'll show you some initial process of some of the prep work and everything like that but before the color is laid on the car we're gonna pause the video and then do a whole new introduction video so anybody that wants to guess here's your time right now to guess so i can almost guarantee you so the process has begun the stripping down is started hopefully by the end of this day the car will be all stripped down based on what was said getting her ready and prepped up that looks so funny without the flares [Music] the good thing is everything's gonna be stripped we got all of the rubbers everything here rear seals all that so it's gonna be stripped down to nothing so we can make sure we hit every single spot getting ready [Music] what do you think bud will she be all stripped down by the end of the day oh yeah yeah all right this is our friend johnny he's gonna be handling the car the car is definitely in good hands so we're very happy of course to say that and can't wait to see this thing all stripped prepped ready we'll be following through we'll be giving you guys updates on the channel you'll see the the whole process actually through this entire video and then of course uh when the car is all done you'll see the finishing product as well but as i said the stripping has begun so you know i don't know man mixed emotions this is crazy i can't wait can't wait all right well signing out for right now we'll give you guys an update tomorrow once we come back i don't want to be too much of a nuisance to these guys too because i mean they got work to do but everything is getting prepped up so we should be good to go [Music] so uh cut to the chase we don't hide here well no we don't hide anything man i mean this is this is what the the master over here just uncovered i mean you guys can see i mean the car definitely needs attention man and disclaimer i mean everything's chassis of the car no rust frame rails pixels all that but it's just important yeah i mean the car when you have it up on the lift you look at the chassis i mean you look at it it's fine but then you look at some of these parts down here another door right on the doors on the bottom i mean yes it's a 50 year old car i get it it needs the love and attention but they're gonna go through the whole car right now we're gonna make sure that everything is properly and correctly and of course uh done so you know i guess we'll just have to to see this is day two of the stripping down and preparation work so uh i figured we'd share this with you guys so you guys can see it too like i said we're not hiding anything we want to make sure you guys see everything that's wrong with this car we want to disclose everything a brand new uh panel is going in here this is the valance right like a front balance this was shipped this is all going to be of course replaced but um yeah i thought we'd share at least to where we are at this point [Music] in the past but let me tell you man i don't know who had this car previously but they take that on this roof on this car looks like look at all that extra coming off unreal it's like was just caked on here to be honest but the good thing is everybody everything's being worked on everything's going to be fixed it's going to look amazing when it's all done and that's what we're waiting for to see the final product so to speak [Music] so so we're pretty much in the final stage of preparation as you guys can see everything's off doors hoods windshields have been taking off now uh final preparations done to everything fenders all that stuff so that they can get it in hopefully uh this wednesday it's gonna go in for paint let me tell you a lot a lot of work went into this car we did not expect to have that much work done but at the end of the day with all the work being done the car is going to be exactly how i want it to be so uh it kills me that these wheels are still on and i know people are going to be like oh my god but you know we're bringing in a set of wheels to uh throw on before it goes into the paint booth but yeah as you guys can see here a whole shitload of repairs were done everything was uh touched up everything was cleaned up i gotta give these guys a lot of credit man a lot of uh not a lot of work went into this it looks depressing right now but it'll be okay hopefully primer you said tonight today yeah so today it should be primered so yeah so just thought i would check in with everybody you guys can take a peek at the car and like i said i'll be here once we've gotten primers and everything so we can take uh another quick video and an update [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right so it is kind of loud in here because the air is on but the moment of truth here the car is in the booth officially all taped up all ready to go she should be painted today and hopefully hopefully um looking sexy so everything's off glass everything's off as you can see so um i can't wait man this is gonna be so awesome so awesome so yeah give you guys another update this is the final update right now so the next time you guys see this car we will be um assembling it revealing the new color all of that and i hope you guys really like it so thought i would share all right so to all of our viewers we're gonna explain you guys i'm gonna let the owner here mr miguel he's gonna explain the process because this is a four stage paint so miguel what do you think man yeah we're gonna use the pre-step which is the gray color for the 46b uh mazda color which is red metallic pearl so this is the first step it's a great sealer okay cool gray sealer great sealer that's a big gray because you put another uh kind of sealer or uh brown color as the color is gonna change so it has to be kind of specific it's going to be a specific dark gray okay then after this one we're going to use the step number two which is just the color oh baby it looks like orange but after you put that one you're gonna jump to the step three okay which is just just a candy color it just looks watery but this yeah yeah it's just wow okay after this one we're gonna jump to the critical uh step but that's the one that's gonna make uh shiny if you're good on the clear because you got it buddy awesome man i can't wait you guys this is where i had my gtr painted as well uh this gentleman is amazing uh he's not only not good at what he does but honest to god this car was stripped repaired set up prepared everything in a matter of days i'm just very happy he knew that i was trying to meet a deadline and he's really nice enough to get me to uh to meet that deadline so um can't wait the next video will have the car in its color so i am so excited one last photo one last video shot right there it's in the booth getting ready and i'm really excited miguel i want to thank you sir very very much for everything uh you guys uh let us know what you think of this paint and color code leave us your comments and um we'll be checking them so give everybody a quick update it's the next morning i'm like absolutely blown the away when i see this the color is just amazing you can see the pearl and everything that sticks out from the color when it hits the sun it's just unbelievable uh miguel and his crew here have gone above and beyond so far my expectations i can't wait to see this car all assembled and everything and cleaned up uh wow so it's amazing i'll show you guys the doors in the back of the hood here that just everything's just sitting here baking away but you know you can see when the sun hit look at that when the sun hits it oh my dear god it's just amazing but um yeah this is probably my next to final update the last update will be tomorrow when i come back they should have the car assembled we have to let it sit and in about another couple weeks or so we're going to then get it wet sanded and buffed and then of course it'll even more so then it'll bring out the color even better than what it even is right now so so yeah that's it for this for this uh update i hope you guys like what you see i can't wait to show you guys the car when it's fully assembled uh and all put together the engine bay is gonna look awesome too everything's nice and uh clearing and prepped and just everything's gonna be all tucked away so looking good looking good i'm really happy so far i'm very very happy so all right so we just picked up the car even though we thought we would do a separate video we just can't we just have to show you guys the outcome of this so we're going to unload it right now what do you think of the outcome [Music] yeah but walk around on it because uh we gotta get to work we gotta get this car ready uh we got to get it prepped we got to get the engine in it and do what we need to do to get it rolling again so uh i'll sign out just for a moment and then once we have her off the trailer we'll have you guys check it out again so here we are cars off the trailer there's no sun so actually this is kind of cool because fashion to accommodate our needs so i mean i'm very very happy but we got a lot of work to do we got a lot of work to do so videos being cut short here um we'll show you guys when we drop the engine in and from there on of course we will uh we'll do a whole a whole video of the car and everything i hope you guys enjoy it so uh over and out for right now the team here has to help me uh i depend on new oil pump starter tries to do awesome decorative pieces just to clean it all up we're doing all am fittings on the carbs so uh yeah i gotta get off this phone right now so somebody else is gonna be guys these guys can do anything to just pick it up well and this is going to be in a little while he's just going to he's going to just pick it up with both arms and just kind of throw it in there but right in uh can't wait to start bolting up everything else i mean it's pretty cool we got something else to bolt up the um think about it radiator yeah the water neck and just mat to do the wiring and then sleep yep slave cylinder got a brand new master cylinder actually can you grab that i'm gonna show everybody grab that um that thing that's wrapped right there yeah no right there on the shelf okay look at my hand where i'm pointing kendrick the bubble wrap thing crap yeah right there yeah we've got a courtesy of a california datsun we have a brand new master cylinder as well chrome master cylinder yeah it's going to be awesome we'll probably just throw that on the booster right now uh but yeah really excited everything went smooth as possible uh man we didn't even touch anything i mean it just like it went right in it was so awesome that yeah well the sling is very helpful of course but but anyway uh all right we're moving right along moving right along it's getting there it's getting there car will be done in two days easily if matt as quick as matt works like this car can theoretical he's saying he's doing it tomorrow he said tomorrow he's going to be done running and driving tuesday yeah probably all right excellent so we'll um we'll pause for the moment and we'll be back in a bit [Music] so i couldn't be happier finishing touches to this very long project which we managed to do in such a short time i hope you guys like what you see um it took a lot of work a lot of time a hell of a lot of effort to get where we are right now but this is it the color's amazing we also of course touched everything up i'll even show you guys the engine bay if you want to do a quick walk around i'll pop the hood so everybody can see the color get an idea the engine bay in my opinion came out amazing a lot of work and time again into that as well but um this is exactly what i wanted so everything was repaired everything is just the car right now in my opinion is perfect so i'll give you guys an engine bay shot you guys can clearly see everything is just like absolutely spotless there's nothing no holes everything has been wire tucked and put away so um this
