Wayne mated to a three-speed manual transmission 0-60 could be had 9.1 seconds theoretical top speed 106 miles per hour while achieving an average fuel economy rating of 12.3 miles to the gallon moving on to the biggest and baddest engine on offer for Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria 3.12 cubic inch displacement y-block V8 5.1 liters it could make anywhere between 215 to 225 brake horsepower 4600 RPM with a compression rating of 6.421 when mated to a four pneumatic automatic three-speed unit 0-60 could be had in 9.7 seconds theoretical top speed 111 miles per hour while achieving an average fuel economy rating of 11.8 miles to the gallon Ford for 1956 offered three transmission options the three-speed manual Ford omatic automatic which was a three-speed unit or three-speed manual with optional overdrive let's talk styling there is a lot going on a lot of Chrome on this car look at how these come up to a point housing the turn signal indicators look at the grill notice it's like the crest of a wave here it's all kind of coming out towards us over Riders as well as the bumpers how they come back here notice this piece here is separate from the bumper but it also wraps around and connects to the wheel Arch area insignia for the Thunderbird V8 look at the hoods on the headlights the hood is very smooth there isn't any lines anywhere nice hood ornament there with the Ford logo and Fairlane right below it coming around to the side get this nice Chrome piece that swoops down Crown Victoria nice and proud there lots of chrome on this car bright work stainless whatever you want to call it how it comes back this almost looks like a club Coop the way that this is how it comes back here there's a lot of Chrome on this car tons of Chrome I love Ford from this era it it's like farts Bend forward and I get it a lot in the comment section these tail lights are the same tail lights that you find on the Thunderbird they just they used it on everything look at that the exhaust gets ported out through the bumper foreign that's where the gas goes single antenna right there just wanted to show this how this comes off like this very lincoln-esque mirror there comes back and then it tapers back into the body down inside there they got this nice Chrome piece here it continues at the bottom and it goes back here to the fender skirt section also notice how this is all texturized just take a gander at all of the bright work on top also take a gander at how this drip rail is so there is a drip rail but it it starts here and it ends here but then it picks back up back here and it goes the whole way down I always thought that these were open but they're not interesting coming back to this tail section here once again I thought this was all open on this model it's not it's got these like plastic pieces in here look at how this sweeps down how this all wraps around gorgeous design and color just take a look at that door panel this was top of the line and just check out how that's all stainless very nice quality feature there I love this door panel with the two-tone teal and blue I love the Chrome to separate the color arm rest as well as door handle to pull the door shut this is the door handle to get out and this is the window crank for the big window vent window operates like this just like that take a look at this interior it's absolutely gorgeous I don't have a whole lot of space so this is how the uh window operates and it's all trimmed out coming down inside the pedal box down there is the high beam switch this is for the emergency brake handbrake clutch brake gas pedal this is for the left air vent that is right down there that opens and closes the vent nice quality shot there here is what over the hood looks like here is what first person over the hood looks like there is tons of space underneath this steering wheel and the only reason I show that is because if you don't fit in the car you can't drive the car and they're all different and um I wear a size 34 pants so if you're about the same size as me you'll fit and these steering wheel columns they don't telescop a lot of times they don't telescope or tilt and that's why I show that up above sun visors they're a bit on the Slender side there's my hand for reference nice rear view mirror there as well as another sun visor over there for the passenger ashtray is located right there on to the button switches and knobs first off I have to apologize between the color differentiations the GoPro depicted the color as more of a medium blue whereas the Cinematic Canon R6 depicted this as a more of a teal color this car was more teal than it was medium blue but anyway on to the button switches and knobs starting on the left and moving right headlights right below it is the ignition switch just to the right of that left air vent just above that oil pressure amp meter which are lights gas gauge left turn signal indicator speedometer with odometer inside of it right turn signal indicator coolant temperature clock wipers heat and ventilation settings fan speed Notice off is in the center with high above it and low below it overdrive radio on to the gold box test here's our test subject here's my hand for reference here is the glove box in question and it turns out that this one's got Vintage Air and that's where they decided to put the Vintage Air Conditioning uh unit that's what all of this is getting into the rear seat so that folds forward like that and that's how much space you have to get back there which isn't a whole lot but we're gonna get back there here's what the view looks like from the back let's take a gander at the greenhouse real quick look at all of the bright work like holy cow like it just looks so incredible in here this is the fanciest Ford I've ever been in just wow look at it it's it's nice so nice and the pillars aren't that big what's really interesting is this center pillar here is bigger than the rear pillar back here it's all it's the biggest pillar in here because if you look up there it's not that big but right there it's absolutely huge that is what the rear looks like that's what rear visibility looks like from the rear seat nice big shelf there with aftermarket stereo speakers check out that this has a center armrest which can be folded back up inside the seat if you want it to be look at how these seats are designed and how they come down right there in the center that's very interesting so Creature Comforts there is a coat hook there dome light there which is operatable from the switch everything that is found on the driver's side is also on the passenger side armrest ashtray Windows do go down coat hook foreign arm rest window oh man look at that how cool is that and it goes all the way down I never knew that is so cool the only thing is is that you can't really crank the window like normal otherwise your arm your hand gets stuck down here and it gets pinched and it doesn't feel that great but just look at that that's so cool who who would have thought putting windows up and down would be fun it it's just the engineering that goes into it they just don't do stuff like that anymore could you imagine how long it would take to engineer a window like that to make it go down and up numerous times all the time right and correct is what I look like in the rear seat I got enough Headroom now my knees that's something totally different this is this is how much knee space I have it's kind of sort of negative the person in the front would have to move the seat up a little bit better also check out the profile of the seat so the seat is very upright in the in the back goes down drastically in the back consequently leaves your knees shooting up it feels like I'm squatting in this seat like squatting to take a power poop or something I don't understand what Ford's issue was why they couldn't couldn't design nice seats in the 50s they did it in the 30s I don't understand why seats have such profile where it's just it's uncomfortable to sit in it's not uncomfortable in the front it's uncomfortable in the back coming through the under the hood section the hood release is right inside here and you pull it towards towards the left and that release is the hood isn't a second it grabbed the second catch you have to hold that that's the hard thing to do to hold that as you pick up on it that is all the higher the hood goes so we've got oil bath air cleaner Master cylinders right there non-power assisted later it's got two belts two belt pulley system heater it's got the Slender battery there on to the pros and cons we are getting all of these pros and cons from The Complete Book of collectible cars Blue Chip Auto investment 70 years from 1930 to 2000 by Richard M langworth in the auto editors of consumer guide on the positive side clean colorful styling good performance solidly built though assembly quality sometimes lags especially with the 55s has become a hot collector item over the last decade appreciation still looks good despite having a Fine Design it's generally overshadowed by the 55 and 56 Chevys generally not as fast either prices have escalated and thus they are hard to find at bargain prices now all right now it's time for Name That Tune first person to give me both the name of the song and band first one to do both
