welcome to the wrap up [Applause] [Music] um welcome to arizona heat wave and monsoon weather and humidity and 114 degrees plus 60 humidity and inside the shop because we are not doing this outside today um but this is wrap-up video on todd's 52 gmc we built this truck uh and delivered it i don't know probably six months ago or so um but he was unhappy with the brakes that were supplied with the chassis that's under this truck so we just brought it back in gave it a good once over and then changed out the vacuum booster to an abs electric booster so anyway let's walk around tell you about the truck obviously by the front of this you could tell it is a gmc and not a chevrolet this is a 1952 another giveaway would be the wing windows we could nerd out on the details of these 47-53 trucks unlike the 63 to 66's i know these ones very well the emblem and the grill are factory original they don't re-pop these as well as they do things like the bumper so we sent these out to speed sport chrome out in texas had them redo these pieces but then pieces like the bumper and the headlight rings are just factory replacements the turn signals are off of like a 55 to 57 because they don't re-pop these at least i wasn't able to find them so a little bit different stuff there the splash panels we have a lot of questions about these splash panels or aprons or whatever you want to call them but these are factory pieces you can pick up any catalog for your chevrolet anyway and gmc and you can grab these pieces it fills the gap between the bumper and the grille we did tuck this one up a little bit anyway because this chassis was meant for a chevrolet and there's a few differences in the gmc one of them being the bumper mounts so we went ahead and tucked the bumper in a little bit we'll get to under the hood in a minute so we'll walk around real quick show you everything else again factory emblem's been re-chromed but then we have new aftermarket pieces like the mirrors and the wipers but uh everybody really likes this color i happen to think it's really cool color as well coming down the side you can see we've got billet door handles from ls fab um these work really nice with the altman latches so we have the altman trick latches in here thor shuts nice precision weather seal you can see kind of up in here makes a really nice seal but then it disappears in the door jam and it makes the door a nice easy closed it's also precision weather seals on all the windows james from state 48 does all of our glass so we put all that in for us going down the side of the truck there's not really a ton change the running boards are factory the filler plates or panels between the bed and the running board we tend to contour them a little bit just to make them a little bit better just because the aftermarket parts aren't great fenders are original fenders all we did on these was weld up the two rivet holes for the inner brace united pacific tail lights the license plate and taillight mounts and the buckets are all brand new one customization we did to the bed that's pretty stand out is we use these ls fab corners really cleans up the end so rather than just having a dead tube it rounds the corner comes back down and flows real nice with the tailgate speaking of tailgate this is a marque unit has a nice push lever in there shuts nice and easy inside the bed more products from market this is their standard kit for the short bed this one we actually didn't order custom or anything this is a standard red oak stained it a darker stain to kind of go with the truck i don't think like a pine or something really light would have gone good in here and then this has a boyd's tank so we've got the boyd's filler that uses a little key to turn it off so um this side's the same as that side so let's talk about interior white interior don't recommend it but it looks really good when it's done these are tmi seats this is their qr stitch pattern if you pan up to the ceiling the headliner is done in the same pattern so when we ordered the seats i ordered some extra material same with the doors so i ordered a couple extra pieces for the doors and a couple extra pieces for the headliner the interior was all done by steve at elevated design so once we had the column in and the seats mounted and everything painted it went over to him and he built the door panels and did the carpet and the center console it's got a small stereo in it obviously a seven inch screen and then on these trucks we actually use the restomod haymaker which a lot of people doesn't think fit but we make it fit in here and then we also build this little skirt even on all the other trucks we do too we tend to do this skirt underneath here so it covers up anything of the ac that you would have seen gives a little style to under the dash and then holds our resto mod ac vents center console has the controls we kind of kept everything round in here the gauges are round from the factory so vents are around controls around these are actually the billet ls fab dash panels but they're actually functioning and like i said he's had this truck for a little bit so he's got his registration and all that fun stuff in there um i hate power windows so we didn't do a power window upgrade it's hot did i mention it's hot i'm sweating this is an aftermarket chassis it was one that was brought to us by the customer it's not the one that we would normally use that being said after we modified it a little bit it's a great product it rides really nice it handles really nice but he also brought us the ridetech control so this the chassis has ridetech shockwave style bags in the front and the rear and so when he bought all that stuff he also bought the ridetech controller so this height suspension is actually just controlled by that that plugs into your cigarette lighter it's a bluetooth unit so this ecu is bluetooth taps into there and then there's an app on your phone i'll show you when we start using the suspension um i think that's it for interior of course dakota digital gauges um actually let's light up the gauges you're gonna have fun editing this one there we go so these are dakota digital gauges these are the hdx ones which is really cool because we can set the color the needle and the text and all the font um all the tick marks of the rpms the speedo and everything we can set all that to whatever color we want so this one we have one of their presets this is called blue ice but it's nice because you get the white letters but the blue dial so you can color match these gauges to the truck which is a really cool feature is the hdx so under the hood is another piece that the customer supplied himself this is a gm ls3 it's a 525 horse straight from chevrolet we have changed out the intake manifold and the valve covers to holley units and then the valve covers normally say chevrolet like uh cast into the tops but we sanded those off smoothed them out they were painted and then ron hernandez came and striped the gmc logo on there so a little custom touch under the hood the biggest thing under the hood you'll notice is the firewall so we built this firewall from scratch we built it to kind of follow over the engine we push the engine back in this thing just gives us room to have the electric fan on the inside of the engine rather than a pusher fan but when you're running an ls and you have the throttle body facing straight forward you need to get an intake around and that type of stuff you really don't have any other choice other than to push the engine back so these trucks are notorious for rust and we had to push the engine back into the firewall anyway so that meant we just build a whole new firewall for this thing simple little bead roll around it for some strength and some style all american billet black anodized hood hinges so this thing literally opens and closes really nice doesn't slam doesn't pop up i actually have to like push it up to get it to go up all these panels are all factory panels so it looks kind of custom but this is all factory stuff like i said this thing showed up the chassis was built powder coated assembled we had to change stuff for the gmc core support and the bumper mounts and the rear bumper mounts the wheelbase was off a little bit so we shifted the whole truck around too so i don't know if that's a gmc to chevrolet thing where the wheelbase is different but rounding the outside of this vehicle we have a set of detroit steel wheels with the smooth caps 20 by eight and a half front 20 by 10 rear and we did something a little bit different for us but i think it totally works on this truck we did a little thin white wall i don't know this this truck is one of those trucks that when we were building we kind of knew it was going to be pretty neat just because it wasn't our normal style i think it came out better than myself and eye candy frank even thought it would next for this truck we're going to go take it out do a photo shoot with a customer like i said he's already driven it around a little bit and we're just going over the truck today doing the new brake setup so we're gonna give it back to him and then the next few days we'll meet up again and mr brian good from grinder tv who's behind this camera we'll also be behind the camera doing a photo shoot for another magazine so thanks for watching uh roll that other footage real quick and then come back [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's gonna work [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay you're back all right so thanks for watching thanks for subscribing um numbers are kind of going up every video which is cool to watch and uh we'll see you on the next shop update video gotta get back to work sweat some more [Music] you
