18. The Cleansing of the Two Temples by Akeem James - Last Generation Theology

[Music] welcome once again to the symposium that has been transpiring for the past few days and it's been a huge blessing to be here and i pray that those of you who are looking and tuning in online that it has been a blessing to you as well today we're going to be touching on a very interesting subject and i've titled it the cleansing of the two temples the cleansing of the two temples it's a very interesting topic but probably some of you know where we are going in light of that title and so as we commence today i just wanted to have a word of prayer and then we will start father in heaven strengthen our minds and our hearts as we look at your word illuminate our hearts oh lord shine the light of the cross in there as we look at this powerful subject i pray o lord that you would forgive my sins my shortcomings and lord use me as an instrumentality to convey your heart and your mind to the people that are watching father not for my sake but for christ's sake i pray and i ask these things in jesus christ's name amen amen so today we're going to be talking about the cleansing of the two temples as we look at the subject of the sanctuary in relation to god's people on earth some say that there is no connection between the two especially as it relates to the sanctuary's cleansing what we are going to see today is that there is a major connection between jesus's work and his final work in the heavenly sanctuary and the cleansing of sin from the lives of his people here on earth as we look at the history of the seventh-day adventist movement we see that one of its unique contributions to christianity is the doctrine of the sanctuary the bible tells us of the love of god toward israel of old when he instructed moses to have israel make him a sanctuary that he could dwell among them the bible tells us concerning this in exodus chapter 25 and verse 8 and let them make me a sanctuary that i may dwell among them an interesting point to note is that moses was to make this replica of a sanctuary after the heavenly reality for in verse 9 he tells moses to build the earthly sanctuary get this according to all that i shoot thee after the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all the instruments thereof even so shall ye make it this reveals that there was a sanctuary in heaven as the priests were to officiate in the earthly sanctuary so christ later on in history would begin officiating in the heavenly hence we are told by paul concerning the location of christ in hebrews chapter 8 and verse 1 verses 1 and 2. now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum meaning as we take into consideration chapter 1 of hebrews all the way to chapter 8 this is the summation of what paul is saying we have such an high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of the majesty in the heavens a minister of the true sanctuary and the true tabernacle which the lord pitched and not man jesus during the period when paul wrote this statement was in the holy place of the heavenly sanctuary he was there get this from the time of his ascension around 80 31 all the way to the year 1844. can you imagine that friends the son of god was doing a grand work there for just about 1813 years but exactly what he was doing there is a sermon for another time as we look at this subject now we're going to look at and take into consideration jesus's final work in the heavenly sanctuary there was a transition that took place after those 1813 years transpired and this is what we're going to look at from the context and perspective of revelation chapter 10 and 11. as we look through our history as a movement we understand the year 1844 to be a time of transition for christ from the holy to the most holy place in the minds of god's people october 22nd 1844 became the year when jesus transitioned into the final phase of his mediatorial ministry but october 22nd while it should have been a day of joy was a time of sadness and disappointment this disappointment led to a few things it led to division fragmentation apostasy but it also led to the formation of a movement of destiny and so in light of this that movement understood exactly what happened as they continued to study after 1844. revelation 10 depicts the experience of the millerites and a small group of people within that movement who went through this disappointment but still pressed on it depicts their experience through the person of john the revelator by saying and i took the little book out of the angel's hand this is taken from revelation chapter 10 and verse 10. i took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it up and it was in my mouth sweet as honey and as soon as i had eaten it my belly was bitter in other words the message of what they thought would be the soon return of christ was sweet when they ingested it but bitter when the day came and they finally digested the reality that jesus was not coming their calculation of the date october 22nd 1844 was right but the prediction of the event was misplaced or wrong god knowing this discouragement would follow comforted his people by giving them more light those who chose to go back and search sincerely the bible again saw the missing link this is why the angel stated in revelation chapter 10 and verse 11 thou must prophesy again before many peoples and nations and tongues and kings why why were they to prophesy again it was due to the fact that more light was to be revealed specifically friends the light of the heavenly sanctuary or the temple of god in heaven this is why revelation chapter 11 and verse 1 is actually a continuation of revelation chapter 10 for it tells us the message the people of god were to bear by saying and there was given me a reed like unto a rod and the angel stood saying rise and measure the temple of god and the altar and them that worship therein remember if the experience of john in these verses concerning the disappointment is actually the experience of the church then the call of the angel is for the church following 1844 contextually to take a read and measure the temple of god this the specifications as to which part of the temple should be measured is contextually revealed at the end of chapter 11 where it states plainly what compartment we are in by saying and this is revelation chapter 11 and verse 19 it states there and the temple of god was opened in heaven and there was seen in his temple get this the ark of his testament that is to say the ark of the covenant and there were lightnings and voices and thunderings and an earthquake and great hail by the very mention of the ark of the covenant we realize that we are talking here about the most holy place of the sanctuary for this is where the ark of the covenant resided in the old testament in the early sanctuary it was into this final compartment that jesus our great high priest entered on october 22nd 1844 to do his final work of intercession speaking of the reed that was given to measure this part of the heavenly sanctuary the greek translation of this word is kana from which we get the english word canon a canon is a rule of law or a standard by which something is judged or examined now the question is what is the rule of law or standard for the christian it is none other than the law of god and the extrapolation of that law the laying out of that law even the word of god ecclesiastes chapter 12 verses 13 and 14 tells us let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter fear god and keep his commandments why because or for this is the whole duty of men for god shall bring every work into judgment with every secret thing whether it be good or whether it be evil and isaiah when summarizing the old testament states in isaiah chapter 8 and verse 20 to the law that is to defi the first five books of moses and to the testimony meaning the testimony of the prophets the rest of the old testament and to us the entire bible if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them in other words everything must be examined judged and tested by the kana aka the canon of the bible now how are we to examine or investigate the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary through the lens of god's word it is by studying the types and services of the heavenly sanctuary which is but a replica of the heavenly the earthly sanctuary which is but a replica of the heavenly when through the old testament we study the portions of scripture relating to the most holy place we realize that the high priest entered that compartment of the early sanctuary but once a year on what was known as the day of atonement his intercession his work of intercession in that specific location of the sanctuary was connected to a work the people were to be doing outside of the sanctuary for the high priest was making intercession for the people hence the bible tells us in leviticus chapter 23 or 20 23 verses 27 and 29 also on the tenth day of the seventh month there shall be a day of atonement it shall be unholy convocation unto you and you shall afflict your souls for whatsoever soul now get this if someone chose not to afflict their souls what was the penalty this is how serious this thing is for whatsoever so it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day he shall be cut off from among his people that's intense friends and then it states in leviticus chapter 16 and verse 30 for on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you to cleanse you that you may be clean from all your sins before the lord so we are noticing a few things here one the work of the high priest on the day of atonement was seen as an atoning work his intercessory work in the most holy place was seen as making atonement for the church in the wilderness at that time two while the high priest was doing this work of final atonement in the jewish year the people of god on the outside of the sanctuary were to afflict their souls they were to make sure that their lives were right with god what does this mean for us since 1844 jesus has been in the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary doing that which according to the old testament is atonement it is no wonder then that we say that we are living in the anti-typical day of atonement the abolition of the earthly sanctuary and its services opened the way into the heavenly sanctuary where christ is now doing his final work of intercession for us the major thing to remember is that while the high priest was interceding in light of the sins of israel the people themselves were to turn away from sin the work of the high priest and the work of the people therefore were connected the work of the high priest was to cleanse the sanctuary from sin but this could only be done get this if the people ceased from sin the reason that daniel 8 14 states unto 2 and 300 days which brings us to 1844 october 22nd then shall the sanctuary be cleansed is due to the reality that the confessed sins of israel had been accumulating in the sanctuary throughout the jewish year it needed cleansing as it was in type so it is in the antitype our savior is now seeking to cleanse the confessed sins of his people from the heavenly sanctuary this is why we are told in great controversy page 425 while the investigative judgment is going forward in heaven that's in 1844 while the sins of penitent believers are to be removed from the sanctuary there is to be a special work of purification of putting a way of sin among god's people upon the earth another statement from review and herald june 21st 1890 states we are in the day of atonement and we are to work in harmony with christ's work of cleansing the sanctuary from the sins of the people let no man who desires to be found with the wedding garment on resist our lord in the office of his work as he is so will his followers be in this world we must now set before the people the work which by faith we see our great high priest accomplishing in the heavenly sanctuary those who do not sympathize you remember in the old testament those who didn't sympathize with that work were cut off listen to what is said here those who do not sympathize with jesus in his work in the heavenly courts who do not cleanse the soul temple of every defilement but who engage in some enterprise not in harmony with this work are joining with the enemy of god and man in leading minds away from the truth and work for this time maranatha page 249 christ and angels work in the hearts of the children of men the church above here it is united with the church below in warring the good warfare upon the earth there must be a purifying of the soul here upon the earth in harmony with christ's cleansing of the sanctuary in heaven through these statements we see that the work of christ in the sanctuary above is connected with the work of purification in the lives of his people here below now in light of this we're gonna then compare we we've begun seeing the comparisons between the heavenly sanctuary and god's people on earth but do you know god's people on earth are also referred to as his temple so there is a connection between the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary the heavenly temple and the temple of god on earth his people and so we're going to continue studying to see this do you remember what we saw concerning the revelation of the most holy place of christ as it concerns revelation chapter 11. we saw that the temple in heaven especially as it concerns the most holy place was to be measured by the reed or measuring rod of god's law or his word however it was not only the temple of god in heaven that was to be measured let us look at the passage again in light of all that we have seen revelation chapter 11 and verse 1. and there was given me a read that is the word of god like unto a rod and the angel stood saying arise and with that word measure the temple of god and the altar and then that worship therein notice that those who worship in that temple were also to be measured by the standard of god's word that is speaking of the church how can this be however seeing that the church is on earth right because in this scene we're entering into the most holy place in the heavens so how then can god's people be there and measured we're going to see this the bible states that by faith christ's church follows him wherever he goes now if christ now dwells get this in heavenly places moving from one place in the heavenly sanctuary to another then that is where his church will be by faith for it is written ephesians chapter 2 verses 4 through 6. many of you know this text but god who is rich in mercy for his great love wherewith he had loved us even when we were dead in sins hath quickened us meaning made us alive together with christ hath quickened us together with christ by grace we are saved and hath raised us up together and made us sit together we're in heavenly places in christ jesus this idea of being with christ where he is by faith is further delineated in early writings friends this statement that we're about to see is so powerful speaking of the transition of christ from the holy place to the most holy place early writings points out that there were was a group who followed christ as far as they could while he was making this transition they did not enter the fullness of the holy of holies but they eagerly awaited the savior just outside of that compartment fully cognizant of what jesus was doing in there the statement reads as follows this is very powerful friends and this is found in early writings page 55 paragraph one it says i saw the father now at this moment jesus and the father are in the holy place all right so this is prior this is just around the time of 1844 prior to october 22nd i saw the father rise from the throne and in a flaming chariot go into the holy of holies within the veil and sit down then jesus rose up so the father rose up he made his transition around the time of october 22 1844 at that same time who also rose up jesus rose up from the throne and the most of those who bowed down our rolls with him so what were they doing they were following the son of god where he was going i did not see one ray of light however pass from jesus to the careless multitude after he arose and they were left sadly in perfect darkness those who arose when jesus did kept their eyes fixed on him as he left the throne and led them out a little way so they followed him right up to that point where he entered the most holy place and then what happened he raised his right arm and we heard his lovely voice saying wait here i am going to my father to receive the kingdom keep your garments here's what our work is keep your garments spotless and in a little while i will return from the wedding and receive you to myself then a cloudy chariot with wheels like flaming fire surrounded by angels came to where jesus was he stepped into the chariot and was born to the holiest where the father sat there i beheld now jesus a great high priest standing before the father on the hem of his garment was a bell and a pomegranate a bell and a pomegranate those who rose up with jesus would send up their faith to him in the holiest and pray my father give us thy spirit then jesus would breathe upon them the holy spirit the holy ghost and in that breath oh my friends this is what we want in that breath was light power and much love and joy and in a world that is mentally suffering so much mentally he gave them peace in that breath early writings page 55 and paragraph one do you see what happens if we study this subject of the of the transition of christ into the most holy place and the work that he is doing there it will give us love joy light power and much peace oh my friends may we study this reality to be with jesus where he is therefore means to be fully aware of his placement and work in the sanctuary above it is to have full faith that not only is he doing a work but he is doing his final work so deep must be our faith in that final work that it impacts how we live we allow jesus to bring us into a deeper union with him we turn from that which separates us from him even sin we are daily measuring our lives by the read of his word even our time in prayer is measured by that word do you know that for revelation 11 1 states that the altar that is to say the altar of incense the altar that is just before the holy of holies was also measured what does the altar of incense represent them revelation chapter 8 and verse 3 gives us the answer by saying and another angel came and stood at the altar having a golden censer and there was given unto him much incense that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne the altar of incense represents or symbolizes the prayers of god's people touched and mingled with the incense of christ's righteousness that it might be acceptable to god this means if the altar of instance is being measured is as it is a symbol revealing the reality that our prayer lives are also being examined do we spend time not only measuring our lives in light of the scriptures but do we also spend daily time with god in prayer as the patriarchs and prophets of all did are we calling out to jesus by faith to give us the victory over every besetmint over every sin the grand judgment is taking place and has been going on for some time now the lord says this is in manuscript 4 1888 now the lord says measure the temple and the worshipers thereof and here are these solemn powerful statements remember when you are walking the streets about your business god is measuring you when you are attending your household duties when you engage in conversation god is measuring you when we are doing our work remember there is one that is watching the spirit in which we are doing it shall we not bring the savior into our every everyday lives into our remember this secular work and domestic duties then in the name of god we want to leave behind everything that is not necessary all gossiping or unprofitable visiting and present ourselves as servants of the living god now i wanted to stop and touch on something here friends because this is so powerful it's so potent the statement states shall we not bring the savior into our everyday lives into our secular and domestic duties i've heard even some among god's people say that you know i'm one person as it concerns my religious life but when it comes to my secular job you know anything dealing with the religious aspect of my life i don't bring there but my friends i want to tell you the truth jesus has come to reveal to us that the religious sphere of our lives must permeate every sphere of our lives god wants us to be witnesses where we are in our secular jobs to be a saver of life unto life god wants to inspire others to follow him through the instrumentality of those who claim to serve him that's you and i friends may we take our religious life even into the workplace i'm not saying go in there and try to turn over everything right but what i am saying is to be a witness like daniel working in a secular atmosphere but at the same time being a powerful witness so powerful we are told was his witness along with the witness of his three friends that when nebuchadnezzar saw that angel stand with shadrach meshach and abednego hananiah michelle and azariah in the fire nicodemus was able to recognize the son of god why because those who were in the fire had represented him well may we do the same work may we do the same work what we are seeing here is that while jesus is in the temple in heaven his work is connected to the temple on earth no not the physical structure of the old testament but rather the temple of the church the apostle paul puts it this way in first corinthians chapter 3 verses 16 and 17 know ye not that you are the temple of god and that the spirit of god dwells in you if any man defile the temple of god him shall god destroy for the temple of god is holy which temple ye are this is powerful because the consummation of christ's work of interceding for sin in the holy of holies is inextricably tied to the eradication of sin in his holy temple even his church on earth hence we read these two jaw-dropping statements as we seek as are we seeking for his fullness ever pressing toward the marks set before us and what is that mark the perfection of his character when the lord's people reach this mark they will be sealed in their foreheads filled with his spirit they will be complete in christ and when that completion comes look at what happens and the recording angel will declare it is finished sda bible commentary volume 6 page 1118 what is finished however is the question we want to ask now look at this the text the next statement gives us our answer and this is taken from great controversy page 613 when the third angel message closes mercy no longer pleads for the guilty inhabitants of the earth then jesus ceases his intercession in the sanctuary above he lifts his hands and with a loud voice says it is done and all the angelic hosts lay off their crowns as he makes the solemn announcement and so friends what we're seeing here before we finish this text is that when does jesus say it is done when god's people are sealed in their foreheads and that work finishes it is at that same time jesus said it is done as it concerns his heavenly intercession so what are we seeing here we're seeing a serious point that we need to keep in mind jesus christ when he says it is done two things happen synonymously the people of god are sealed the world has made its decision to either follow the lamb or to follow the enemy of the lamb and the enemy of man which is satan and so as the world is polarized into these two groups a sealing happens in both cases one receives the seal of the living god the other receives the seal or the mark of the beast and so as that sealing takes place the polarization happens men make their decision for or against god sealing themselves in that habit what happens in heaven christ responds by saying it is done and he finishes his intercession so never should we have in mind that christ just one day he just says you know what i'm tired and he just closes the door of the heavenly sanctuary no friends when christ this is the love of god when christ closes his work in the heavenly sanctuary it is in response to the decisions of men in this world it is when mankind says i will be sealed in this place and i will be sealed on this side that then jesus respects that decision and closes his intercessory work because what has happened the world has sealed themselves either in righteousness or in wickedness and christ respects that decision once men are sealed this is what the statement continues by saying he lifts his hands and with a loud voice says it is done and an angelic voice an angelic host lay off their crowns as he makes the solemn announcement now here it is here's how we know it he that is unjust let him let him be unjust still do you see it the aspect of choice as men decide christ respects that decision and he that is filthy let him let him be filthy still but the antithesis of this is also true he that is righteous let him be righteous still and he that is holy let him be holy still revelation 22 and verse 11 jesus's mediatorial work ceases he declares it is done when by the grace of that same jesus his church reaches the mark of perfection which is something only he will know that mark according to the previous statements is the perfection of his character in us a character that reaches the point of taking here it is an eternal fast from sin itself and this just makes sense for if we continually need to ask for the forgiveness of sins then that sin is continually being transferred to the sanctuary above polluting it hence the intercession of christ friends continues to this day it is when sin ceases in us the temple below that christ can bring an end to his intercessory work in the temple above this is not to say that once jesus consummates his work that we stand on our own rather the same savior who brought us to that point of perfection will continue to sustain us in that perfectly sealed state by his holy spirit while the enabling and restraining power of the spirit is withdrawn from the world it will not be withdrawn from the saints we will continue to live sealed lives until the savior comes the conclusion that we are now arriving at is is where we will see a few points one and the earthly sanctuary was a replica patterned after the heavenly sanctuary which was activated at christ's while the sanctuary too while the sanctuary truth was known in paul's day as it concerns jesus being in the holy place it was lost sight of it was raised up again however during the years that followed the great disappointment hence we find the messages of revelation chapter 11 and verse 1 measure the temple of god in reference to the most holy place three not only was the sanctuary message revealed in october 22 1844 but the transition of christ into his final phase of ministry in the holy place was also revealed and four in light of this god's people like the hebrews of old were to now put away the sins in their lives that as sin ceased with them it would cease to pollute the sanctuary above thus ending christ's final atoning work may we choose friends to therefore come close to jesus may we spend time with him in the word and prayer and may we demonstrate that we have been with him in how we treat others our church has been given the responsibility to proclaim the reality that we have an advocate with the father a great high priest whose priestly ministry upholds the world in mercy and gives people the opportunity to be transformed eternally the same jesus who died for us now intercedes for us and will one day soon come again for us now i wanted to share a story in light of this in light of showing that if we copy that perfect pattern friends what will happen is that as we live our lives in harmony with that pattern it will bring an end to the work in heaven in this in the sense of intercession i remember one day i i woke up in the morning and i was studying desire of ages to give you an illustration of this point i was studying desire of ages the chapter entitled the days of conflict and as i was studying jesus's life as a child and as a teenager i saw some powerful points concerning his life potent points significant realities that show us how we must live in our world today if sin will cease in our lives jesus christ was one who while loving god revealed his love for god in how he treated his fellow man and this is something crucial for us in our lives today so i got up and i read that chapter and as i was reading that chapter i saw that jesus did something amazing every time him and his brothers were hungry and they took a break from their work and they would go away from their work to get something to eat as they came back from getting that meal they would then actually at times see people on the streets people that were poor and hungry and while his brothers would brush them off christ would see that soul as one whom he would die for and so what did he do he would take his meal inspiration says even at the point of his own starvation he would take that meal and he would give it to the individual that was starving now friends i want you to think about this that day i i finished reading the story and there's another point of the story that i'll bring out at the end but as i went forth on that day i was so inspired and i said lord i i want to be like jesus i want to live like him that is so amazing what he did he was so selfless in ministry towards others aggressive ministry by the way and so as i went forth i was looking for someone and i had i had some some tracks that i wanted to hand out to people i said i'm going to go out and hand out tracks which already shows you i started missing the point of the story not that tracks are bad we must we must spread them as far and wide as we can but you'll see the context as i explained the story so i went i went around doing my errands looking for someone to minister minister to as christ minister to people and so i came across this gentleman as i was walking around the streets of silver spring maryland and i saw this gentleman and before i even came close to him i could smell him i smelled the alcohol on his very person and he was sitting there and you could tell that he was half drunk and so friends i looked at this man and i said lord i want a witness to this man and so you know what i did i took out the tract and i gave it to him i was i was i extended out my hand to give it to him and that man he took his hand and he waved it in anger against the tract and against my hand now friends when i saw that i was shocked i was like how could this guy reject this piece of literature that i'm trying to give him i'm trying to give him the truth and so as he did that he yelled out at me he says man that's not what i need and so i pulled my hand back in and i was so frustrated and so as he became more and more angry it finally says okay sir i'll i respect that and i walked away and i went back to my vehicle i sat down in the vehicle and as i was there you know what i was thinking rather than thinking lord what was what went wrong i said in my own mind the audacity of this man to reject the truth that i was trying to give him and friends you know what the spirit of god convicted me of said akim do you remember what i told you this morning in devotion the example that i gave you what this man needs at this very present moment may not be a track it might be food and so i said oh lord forgive me i was so interested in giving him the spiritual theory of the truth by the way that i missed out on meeting his practical needs and friends this is the beauty of jesus christ because the way that christ found a way to give men the spiritual truth of the word was that he first met their needs and it opened the way it was an entering wedge to give them the spiritual truth that he wanted to communicate and so you know what it says at the end of that story it actually says in desire of ages what jesus would do he was brilliant we have an infinitely brilliant savior friends he would take the food even at his own starvation he would take the food and as he's giving it to the individual you can read this in days of conflict as he's giving it to the individual you know what he would do while doing this he would quote scripture and as he quote escorted a scripture of encouragement to the individual it says because the truth of the word was connected with an act of love it forever riveted in that person's mind the word of truth and so i said whoa lord this is what you're trying to show me and so i went back to the man and i said to him sir would you like something to eat and he looked at me friends with longing in his eyes and he says yes please and so i went and i got him something to eat and so i said i am going lord to copy the perfect pattern the son of god i'm going to put your word and inspire writings to the test and so i got the food and friends as i'm giving it to the man i test it i'm giving it to him and i quote to him at that very moment jeremiah 29 and verse 11. i said friend the lord has a word for you today as he's extending his hand to get the bag of food and i say to him i know the thoughts that i have towards you says the lord thoughts of peace of good and not of evil to give you a hope and a future and friends as i quoted that text while giving that man that food he began to weep bitterly because you see friends there are many within this world who have no hope and so as i did this friends friends his heart opened up so much that then i was able to leave him with the tract and a message of hope of the second coming i sat down right beside him and it began to delineate to him that soon jesus would come and burst the sky with glory to save his people friends that man looked at the heavens as though he was in a dream as though he can see it friends what i realized that day is as we do aggressive service we are told in inspiration that this is one of the greatest ways along with studying the word of god to overcome you see when we are busy living the life of jesus immersed in that life consumed with becoming more like him what ends up happening is that we have no time for sin we have no time for playing around because we are busy emulating the life of our savior and so friends as we emulate that life continually i wondered as i left that man lord what if i live like this every moment then friends i would have no time for sin and if sin ceases in us then what happens in the heavenly temple it ceases there as well that's what we want as we copy the perfect pattern it will bring such perfect success that sin will then cease in the life of the individual following the son of god our religion is not one only of theory of the truth or intellectual assent to the truth but also the practical demonstration of that same truth it is a demonstration of the love of god that the world needs at this time and so as we as we close in this study of the two the cleansing of the two temples i want us to remember that that friends god is seeking to cleanse our soul temple and as he can cleanse this soul temple he can finish his work in cleansing the sanctuary above the heavenly temple one temple in heaven is connected to your temple on earth christ wants to finish the work in you that he can finish the work on high if this made sense with you to you and you desire that that work might end in you that christ can perfect his will concerning you and perfect his character within you that he might finish the work on earth and in the heavens if that is your desire then i ask you to buy your heads with me as we close father in heaven we thank you so much for your goodness toward us and for revealing to us in jesus's life the work that you desire to do in our lives all that perfect example the holy son of god giving us a holy example that if we emulate that example by the power of your grace by the power of your holy spirit that it will bring true success the finishing of the perfecting of your character in us that lord you might cease that heavenly work that you are doing right now lord finish the work in our lives lord eradicate sin from us may we be consumed and may the flesh be consumed crucified as we behold him who die for us ever lives to make intercession for us and will soon one day return to take us to be with him forever this is what we
