[Music] hey guys welcome back to my channel today i am doing a daily routine for my 18 month old and i'm just gonna go over with you what we do in our day what our montessori days look like so lucas usually wakes up around 8 a.m and i go and i get him out of his room and we usually spend some time snuggling he is a mama's boy and he is just my little snuggler so we spend a few minutes just snuggling and talking and i'll take off his wearable blanket and then he usually finds a book that he wants to read he always goes straight for the books in the morning then it's time to choose his clothes for the day so i usually lay out two options for him and he'll pick uh which one he wants to wear so this day he picked the fire trucks and we will get that on and then he will put his pajamas into the hamper here you can see he went to go grab his book again this find fergus book has been his favorite lately and he wants to read it all the time so he wanted to read it again and then we head downstairs to go get some breakfast and lucas has been experimenting with going down the stairs forward facing so you can see here he's kind of trying to decide if he wants to try it forward-facing usually i'll hold his hand but then he just decided to go down his normal way [Music] he went straight to go play in the playroom this morning and he is playing with some of the lacing beads i have these set up for my three-year-old but it's something that he likes to try to do as well he hasn't quite figured it out completely but he's working on it every day and then we head to the kitchen to make breakfast lucas loves helping to cook and help helping to make breakfast and he's really at that stage where he is practical life work is just where he's at what he wants to be helping in any way that he can so i let him pour the oats for our oatmeal and here you can see he's kind of trying to clean it up this asia is so great because they recognize when things need to be cleaned and they like to point it out so i'm giving him a yogurt to hold him over because he can get a little bit hangry and now he's going to help me mix the oatmeal [Music] next i get him set up in his high chair to eat breakfast sometimes he will eat at the weaning table for breakfast with my three-year-old but this morning we decided to all eat together at the kitchen table so you can see here he's doing really well with his utensil usage lately and um yeah he's just he's a great eater then i kind of signaled that it was time to wipe our hands down and i didn't really show this but he was really he didn't want to get it done so here i am imitating what i'm going to do i'm going to wipe our face it always helps if you have a child that doesn't like to get their hands wiped or doesn't want to wipe their own if you imitate on yourself that you're doing it it tends to help them like reassure them and you're not just aggressively attacking them with the washcloth and on this day we had music class so we went to go get our shoes on and lucas has been sitting in this spot in front of the door to put his shoes on lately because if you can see my three-year-old is over there on the stool and we only have one stool for them to sit on so lucas goes and gets his shoes and sits by the door and i help him to put them on this day i didn't have socks for him so i decided to put sandals on him normally i would let him pick out his shoes but he doesn't really mind at this age what shoes he's wearing he's just happy to get shoes on and happy to be going outside and like i said we had music class this day so we're so lucky that we have this outdoor music class that we can go to it's been really nice to get outside and get moving and we really really love it we are back from music class and it is time to take off our shoes so lucas comes and he sits in the same spot and i always encourage him to put his shoes back in the cubby normally he is right on top of this and instantly wants to put his shoes back in the cubby but today i think he saw lincoln run off to play with something and he wanted to follow along but he did put his shoes back in the cubby and then got a little distracted with something else oh his blanket that you see here he found his blanket and we always wash our hands when we get inside so we are going straight to the sink to wash our hands both of the boys have been loving this new foaming soap that i got and that's helped to encourage hand washing lucas has been getting really good at it and then the next thing we have is lunch so today we are having mac and cheese and then i had a side of some fruit in the bowl next to him and he is feeding himself again [Music] after lunch time we have a little bit of time to play in the playroom lucas has chosen another one of his brother's activities to do and this is just a little magnet activity and he kind of alternates um around the room really playing with different toys so this is just what he's playing with at the moment and we needed a quick diaper change so i always try to make it seem like a fun thing that we're doing when we need a diaper change and get him involved with helping him having him pick a diaper or something like that having him hold something because diaper changes can just be no fun and we tried the stand-up diaper changes and those just did not work for us instead he does much better just coming to this spot and having somewhere on the ground low to him that we can do diaper changes and we haven't started potty learning with him yet i'm not sure when we're going to start that maybe after we move for right now we're still doing diapers and he enjoys helping to throw away the diaper and open and close the diaper pail i've just noticed that when i have him help and be involved in the diaper changing process in some way it helps the whole process go so much smoother and if you know anything about 18 month olds they have no interest in getting their diaper changed so anyway we're back upstairs now and we are getting ready for nap time he has his wearable blanket on and he is picking out a book to read so we'll read our book and we'll snuggle and then he will go down for his afternoon nap this is usually around one o'clock [Music] lucas usually naps for about two hours so usually waking up around the three o'clock mark again he's back for the same find fergus book when he wakes up he always wants to read a book and he loves finding fergus in this book it is so cute i could read this with him every all day every day because i just love seeing him find fergus and point it out it's adorable [Music] and we're done reading that book and one thing that we also do is we put away our passy back in the crib when he's done with nap time i've been trying to get into that habit so that we only have the posse at bedtime and nap time sometimes i forget and he does bring it downstairs but most of the time he's pretty good about putting it back in he knows that's where it's supposed to be and again we're going down the stairs and he's experimenting with going face forward in this day i created little snack trays for the boys lincoln had already had his but i saved lucas his for when he woke up and so he brought his little snack tray over to the weaning table and he is going to eat his snack there after he finished his snack he came over to help me with the dishwasher i was just loading it up and like i said earlier he's really into all of the practical life activities anything that i'm doing he is right here to help me so you can see him helping me load up the dishwasher [Music] and then we were wiping down the table after our snack and lucas wanted to have a try at using the spray bottle so i let him have a turn at trying to use the spray bottle and it started raining so the boys wanted to go out and see the rain so we opened the front door and we went outside and watched the rain for a little bit and the lucas is always looking for bugs so i think here he found like a really tiny little ant so they're just watching the ant and then lincoln begged to go play in the rain so i said okay and we got some shoes on and it was a pretty warm rainy day so we went outside and i just let them get soaking wet and play in the rain so after that we came inside and we had bath time and after bath we got our pajamas on and the boys played in our loft area for a little bit which has a lot of our gross motor activities like our pickler triangle and that sort of thing so they play here for a little [Music] bit and i forgot to get it on film but we also did eat dinner and then after dinner we came up to do our night routine brush our teeth and get ready for bed so here i am brushing lucas's teeth i had to keep this clip in because it was so cute lucas put the little fire truck on top of the big stuffed fire truck and this is a fire truck that lincoln has in his bed and he sleeps with but lucas is always trying to take it and bring it into his room he wants one too um i can't find another one of these but i just think this is so cute that he was putting the little fire truck on top of the big fire truck and at the end of the night we like to read a book together so i usually have both of the boys pick out a book and we'll usually read two books and then i will go to put lucas to bed he's got his little blanket he loves that thing and then we'll put on his wearable blanket and he'll get his passy and then we will snuggle for a little bit while i rock him and sing him a song and then he will go to sleep for the night and he sleeps through the night thank you guys so much for watching today's video if you liked it please give it a thumbs up and consider subscribing if you are not
