foreign [Music] this is the end of my first season the longest way back home this long journey took altogether 161 days after leaving Switzerland I started in turkey and then to Georgia Armenia Iran the Emirates Kurdistan Oman Nepal Malaysia I transit in Hong Kong and then Hangzhou and finally back home so it's the final concluding episode and it's going to be quite long [Music] thank you [Music] thank you foreign this is my first long trip when I started I was a bit nervous I never had long trips before my longest record was five months but traveling with a group and this time it's just me and it will be much longer but I was even more excited to discover the speak world the moment I landed in Turkey I'm telling myself from this moment on it's going to be me my second hand gears my baby YouTube channel was one subscriber and I'm going to have an amazing trip my first first name turkey I didn't plan much for turkey but I know I want to see more beyond popular places of Istanbul and kabadokia so I went straight South to Antarctica and from there I turned East to chaleta Martin ramazan Khan cars and then to stop and cross the border to Georgia first stop in Turkey first stop on my longest journey back home and today there is something very special antacia was absolutely a great kickoff for the trip and it still tops my favorite places in Turkey the food is amazing wow [Music] apart from the Turkish dishes with the Arab influence it has perhaps the best hummus and can never in Turkey slowly slowly they cooking [Applause] the local influencers and was invited by them to try 100 different kinds of food on the street and including the spiciest chili pepper foreign foreign foreign but to be frank making videos is not easy in the beginning I always felt like an idiot talking to the camera I don't know what to say and I can hardly speak one complete sentence but yeah I've got their attention yes yes I actually don't understand but I think we are asking for my YouTube channel so say hi to the camera [Music] if you want one traveling advice from me that is once you get out of the most touristic area you will experience the real Turkish Hospitality I had received a lot of kindness from Turkish people unlike Chinese they are not shy at all I couldn't count how many times I was invited for dinner for tea and they always helped me I want to go to the bus station to Adana bus station which bus started 105 105 105. five so he told me it's a 100. [Music] he told me it's 100 2017 and 105 sir Maxi Maxi uh Allah thank you yeah we try to hitchhike to order our second try be careful yeah [Music] be careful okay yes I'll be careful maybe see you in turkey and welcome to China I hope cooler he even helped me with my back and here it's the bus station in Woodrow Turkish people also love gifting when I was in Turkey I got all kinds of small gifts thanks a gift you don't take off don't take off till morning she's asking is it okay scarf bracelet books small wallet fruits sometime in very random occasions once I was walking on the street in Uva and a man came from the other direction with a plastic bag and that he suddenly stopped in front of me and pulled a handful of cherry another time I was on a bus and then the woman on the other side was smiling to me in the beginning and then took out a germ Stone from the wallet and gave it to me for most people their favorite area in Turkey is the Eastern blue Seaside or the northern Black Sea but the journey across the South and the West took me to many less known but extraordinary places ancient cities rocked mountains and sung extreme for Thailand [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] turkey from the Northwestern corner and entered the Caucasus Georgia and Armenia are two small countries which share heavy culture and history together both are Christian countries both have unique languages that are not built on Indo-European bays and those have very proud people I started with Batumi and now went North to the mountain area of svenatti then Tbilisi the capital kahati the wine region and now and back to tibilisi from there I took the train to yellowvan Armenia after a short rest in Batumi I hopped on a mashutka to svenatti the highest inhabited region can I sit in the front please oh after some relaxants he said yes the road was pompy and our driver was Fearless halfway there we stopped for some food we tried the famous cook Dali a beef bread in a spanati region together with Georgia's second national drink a strong liquor called cha-cha cool hot videos I think it's alcohol alcohol drink drink yeah good mm-hmm you drive he can't yeah we drink coffee [Music] [Laughter] I finished this finish this very good after one small shop I'm already quite drunk here I met at Old Trend Tatiana who joined me for a few days we started together 10 years ago and it's always nice to see old friends [Music] fanaticals the most beautiful mountain landscape and some people call it Little Switzerland but I'd say it's Second To None it has this rustic flavor it has snow-capped mountains glaciers aged Stone towers and a very lonely Church it felt like the edge of the world [Music] Sven Towers dot the landscape I've never seen this type of structure elsewhere and this is very unique to the region they are defensive towers built in the Georgian golden age and here almost every house has a tower and we are actually staying a hostile of a traditional house look at this that's the tower belonged to the family excuse me is it possible to visit one the tower yes okay come so I'm following this little keyboard to look at the tower there you go from right here [Music] oh we are going on the roof oh okay [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] maybe you don't know but wine was invented in Georgia about 8 000 years ago Georgians use the unique quavery method this process gives a wine an unpredictable taste completely different from the European wines this is the first Winery that we're going to visit what's the name of this one lumisi and let's go further here at the Cavalry the secret place of George and wine buried under this is The Clay Pot that is called clevery here there's a small one look at this this is one of the smallest size and cocoa he just told me in Georgia there is there isn't a biggest clevery there is only bigger ones unlike the wine making in Europe in France Georgian wines are fermented in clay pots like this I'm not an expert but this one is quite good yes yes it smells really good and it's not sweet it's more dry [Music] the temperature some sugar sediments everything to happen in nature during this I told you the cubic two or three weeks and they always will rewind is a drug so this is a wine tunnel of 80 kilometers it's freezing inside we are just automatically closing it and leave it right inside we don't put it it takes much longer time someone months in total six months for white wine if you start mine less time of course but what happens skin and seats are separating by themselves all the sediments of wine are coming down from the publicity I took the overnight train staying in the train was Grace a Indonesian girl I met in Cincinnati and for the first time I passed the border control in a tree they even stamped my passport in a tree [Music] ride was slow but comfortable the next morning when I opened my eyes again I saw the beautiful mountain Ararat I was so close to it only two weeks ago and last time it was from the Turkish side in ramazan Khan a small village right next to Armenia border foreign [Music] was only 20 kilometers away [Music] Armenia has a tough history largely as a result of the first world war today more Armenians live outside their motherland all over the world Armenia also has to hostile neighbors Azerbaijan and turkey and until now it's impossible to enter Armenia by land for either country border conflicts occurs from time to time on the western side the where you can still see some area without clearly marked borderline and bunkers abandoned churches and houses Armenia is the first country in the world that accepts Christian as its National religion so this this church it's the very first church that was built after Armenia claims to be a Christian country and from here that is a beautiful Mount Ararat and I want to show you this it's called hashka which means um hash means cross and Ka means the stones so this is a tombstones which is very typical in Armenia Christianality has left a big Legacy on this land many oldest Apostolic churches and hashkas dotting around the beautiful Sivan Lake and mountains an Ararat is believed to be the resting place of Noah's Ark so Ararat is Holy to Armenia a clear day you can see this beautiful view over Ararat a views that all Armenians want from their windows [Music] I happened to arrive in yellow van during badawa a festival when people drench each other with water it's gonna be okay it's gonna be feeling good okay it's fine it's good actually right why are you pouring water onto us it is really it fits no one cares that much it is the funniest Festival um it happens every time on Sundays yeah Sunday uh and um like unlike Merry Christmas everyone congratulates each other like even very like in during new year you will say people like this is strange like not no one congratulates you but this you're speaking with everyone yeah is the most dangerous day in yalaban once you get out of the room it's almost impossible to come back dry water will come from every corner unexpectedly [Music] I went out with grace to join this big party hello see me and grace too oh my God please [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] after four days in Armenia I'm ready for Iran when I reached the bus stop in yellow bun we started chatting to them peppers [Music] [Laughter] yes single toys yes it will be a long ride the bus went through the rugged mountains in South Armenia but I was never bored oh because I stopped after three or four hours drive and I wanted through this landscape of Armenia foreign because you will have a wonderful road trip with amazing overview [Music] foreign [Music] ceremonial we got off the bus and walked across a bridge to Iran I was a bit nervous about the Drone but other Iranians assured me that Saints will be fine but this border crossing is kind of exciting and now we are in the Armenia side the second country and we're going to cross up River on the other side it's Iran to put my heat up and I hope all my electronics will be fine so let's see I have safely across the border this is the Iranian flag can you see that and this is the border control so everything went quite smoothly and I showed my passport and because for Chinese citizen passport is Visa free So I entered without any problem I was a little bit worried about my Quadcopter in my luggage but in the end nothing happened so I'm I'm now very happy and I'm looking forward so much for my coming months in Europe it's my second time here and since my last visit Iran has become one of my favorite destinations global view of Iran is overwhelmingly negative but many have never been to this country our views about Iran have been very partial shaped by the media around its politics but if you have a chance to visit you will see Iran for real in my opinion it's the most misunderstood country because the regime and people are two different things Iran has the kindest people and Incredibly Rich history and culture among all the countries I stayed in Iran's longest so I can tell a more detailed story we tend to think of Iran as just tethered but its landscape is more interesting than we thought the western part is covered by ragged Zagros Mountains we are crashing oh no boom the Eastern region is covered by a Barren salty desert desert camping is one of the nicest way to experience the vastness and whiteness of the Iranian landscape just ice [Music] in the northern part near the Caspian Sea it's green and Lush all year round here it produces most of Iran's rice tea and fruits my friends took me to visit the countryside it's so green and it feels like I am back in my hometown in southern part of China thank you [Music] [Music] also facing heavy criticism by Iranians Iran remains one of the few Theocratic countries in the world Shia Islam is an inseparate element of politics an Islamic law is strictly enforced so religion is a big thing and there are many religious festivals I arrived year round during muharan the second important religious festival for the Shia Muslims a time to offer condolences to Iman Hossein this is how I dress myself today completely in Black because this Festival is meant to memorize Jose and the color black symbolized to memorize or to express the sadness and everyone's dressing in Black ceremony [Music] we come from all directions to the center square and then the exits on the way here you can see there are already lots of people and their placements foreign [Music] Grand carnivore and feasts are hosted sunshia Muslims even traveled to Iraq Kabbalah for muhara or Hussein IBA Ali was defeated and massacred and Warehouse the grandest event this was a jar dropping thing especially for me so I'm from a country that is officially racist and some mosques they are free food prepared for everyone and they kindly let me in and showed me what's going on [Music] I'm afraid you just be fat foreign population have a heavy traffic I saw the traffic of Shanghai another so from here you might think Iranians are religious and conservative but this is not entirely true the tight restrictions and harsh penalties have left a very bad image of religion among Iran's young adults and the iranian's population is overwhelmingly young 70 of population is under 35. [Music] many don't identify themselves as religious they love the internet social media really maxism and many other masters of wine making at home Iran's Glory has always been its culture and Persian Kingdom has left Salah the oldest richest and most influential art heritages in the world in many Medias including architecture carving weaving Pottery metal working Etc carpet woven is one of the most valuable skills that each region has their Specialties in tabbers Bazaar I saw the hidden secret of carpet making huh so you can find the whole production chain in the bazaar from coloring the fabric from coloring the wool and silk to making the carpet work so in this place they bring the Rope whether it's wool or silk and then they color it so those are the workers we have been working here for almost 50 years this is the place where they cook the water and then they put the fabric inside I'm gonna do like a red or that that's that is the yellow one we are going to wave the carpet it's not so easy to find because it's underground even if you visit alarm you are unlikely to find this place and without the heat I would never be able to see that Salam [Music] wow yeah take one of the warp and under under the work and next warp and make another make a knot wow the carpet one of the our traditional things one of the our part of Earth part of the history of Iran Iranian people love art yeah because the some of artists not left and they sit on the loom horizontal Loom and leaving the one year two year the card is like a Showcase of Persian art so I spent a day with my friend Mohammed trying to document some of the interesting handicrafts this is kalamzani keeping suits most of the rich people using them to keep in sweets or something yes traditional Salon Suite and yeah for example like that yeah drinking the chai or coffee in Iran yeah and but most of the rich people can buy this because it's so expensive certificate yeah Western Central Asia program leaded corporate in both of us [Music] it's a piece of skateboard yeah on the wooden part of the skateboard yeah some they are a shop that order these two skateboards wow that must be very expensive oh yeah this is [Music] another one is that industrial pens they are using this to retain the silver metal on anything else two of them ordered by Dubai ruler yeah so it turns to some instrument that using for drinking water or keeping the water but he's making this and give it to a person who uh using with color and uh he's working for about 50 years 50 years on this yeah and he said because he loves his work and there is nothing affected on him [Music] foreign copper and then she told me that it's all of her creativity because she craved all those patterns and it's very specific to East how long have you been working 15 years 15 years do you like it foreign it's impossible to show you them all because there are so many and Iranians have a love for art your onions also bring their creativity and Sensibility into buildings mosques Royal palaces Gardens traditional Courtyards and Persian architecture has influenced the world this is one of the oldest ways you can say it's the first puzzle it is 1 200 years old and you can find this kind of art from China until Spain when you come to Islamic countries it's more difficult it's way more ankles and there are like thousand pieces and this is very similar to the art that you will find in Spain and Italy and this goes back to the time when they're in Andalucia for example the Arabs came there and the Muslim art also has influenced the peninsula of there I was also Amazed by how they adapt to the harsh climate they use cannot the underground tunnel system to catch water we built wind catchers as a natural ventilation system and that is the Wind Tower [Music] there's one room of the Wind Tower it's very cool inside it this is I'm literally standing under the under the wet Tower you can see that that's a place where the wind comes in they're all together four sections one two three four and in this way the wind can come from all four directions under the Wind Tower I can sell I can feel the wind is blowing if any country can beat turkey on Hospitality that's Iran I was often adopted by Iranians and I had been taking extremely care of by my friends I had to fight really hard to pay for the bills but I seldom win because they said it's a rule that the guests don't pay um diverse the common elements include meat rice herb and spices traditional Iranian food comes often in beautifully carved tray with fresh herbs [Music] Iranians love meat especially keep up and that's a must-have for picnics roasted tomato grapes pepper and rice in the morning it's easy to see people walking around with a huge piece of bread called sungak it is packed in an oven with small stones like that in Turkey they drink black tea and they like to sweeten it with nabat a crystallized sugar with saffron flavor another popular drink is to a naturally carbonated drink made from fermented yogurt it's a bit like cheese stinky cheese but in a liquid form they are similar to China Iranians have a medical Theory to divide food into hot and cold do you really believe in your own that's it all kinds of the foods have a special nature for example the nature of the tea is cold but the nature of the saffron and nabot is very hot and let's make a balance to do not make a problem for your digestive system yeah for example tobacco or dead are too cold have a cold nature but it controls yeah we can try it together I had an amazing one month started with tabbers and then went West to mazandarin then Isfahan Kurdistan kermanshah Shiraz and then went South to bandalanga while a century Iran is strongly Persian the very south started to have an Arab taste people speak Arabic wear long rope and from there I took the ferry across the Red Sea to Dubai and finally meet my boyfriend Flo we had a short rest in Dubai and then set off for Kurdistan today I am going to have a surprise for you I am traveling with my boyfriend Flo hello and we are going to the oldest civil Kurdish is a very touched subject even mentioning Kurdistan or Iraqi Kurdistan cake ignite a lot of people now Kurdistan falls under Iraqi Constitution but it has high level of self-determination I wouldn't say it's extremely safe to travel in Kurdistan because there are still strikes on the turkey and Iran Border but Iraqi Kurdistan is far removed from the dominant Narrative of War terrorism and religious fanaticism that we are fed in the media it's known as the safest region in Iraq when we started moving around the first thing we've noticed is that this region is heavily guarded by the Armed Forces of peshmerga and there are many checkpoints on the way okay okay Kurdistan has a burgeon economy we saw very busy traffic in the urban area and booming constructions in many big cities the capital Albia has a bustling Market with a beautiful mass of colors and flavors [Music] [Music] I found Kurdish people in the streets and they are a little bit shy compared with Turkish we are staring at you but they don't come up and talk to you unless you make the first move [Music] [Music] Iraqi Kurdistan shares a lot of similarity with the Kurdish region in Iran and turkey the stepped houses costumes class shoes food Etc [Music] [Music] not a big surprise they are of the same origin Kurdish people are some of the friendliest I've crossed whether in Turkey Iran or in Kurdistan entering the village we were invited by the hospitable yazidis for kabukti and to have a drink with them and then relax and enjoy this K-pop dance [Music] Kurdistan is small but religiously diverse in Albia we visited some beautiful mosques and now we drove to lalis the holy place of yazidis foreign we have to wear long pants and also we have to go barefoot because otherwise the shoes will make this holy Place dirty every yes it is they are expected to pay at least once in their life a six day pilgrimage in this holy place not far from lalish is alcoch it is ethnically Assyria and the only Christian stronghold in a country that survived Isis we were so amazed at that we got up because I have never seen a tongue with so so much elements of Christian there are lots of paintings on the wall crosses on the door and there are a lot of statues Christian statues or some some Mary's statues in this town so all everyone in our courses Christian there's no other other no no no we are pure Christian okay can we attacked us when ice will be only one hand while we are reunited okay our coaches before the bourbon Babylon yeah before the syrians yeah the best time to visit Kurdistan is in Spring while melting snow transforms the land into green grasslands and the Sea of flowers in Middle summer it is extremely dry and hot and the landscape was rough Limitless but something is [Music] but there are a few places we can find the refreshing mineral water and enjoy the coolness [Music] we are now at the backyard waterfalls actually the whole region consists of many waterfalls so you can find many many different attractions there's also a great canyon just not far away it's an authentic touristic experience yeah it's actually super touristy I think I'm here but it's understandable if I look at this it's it's so funny everybody is shooting around with these water water guns hi [Music] [Music] after Kurdistan we went back to Dubai and drove a car to Oman if you want hardcore Arab culture then Oman is a place it has a modern face an Asian saw and breathtaking nature thank you the first day was a long drive so we just made it to Oman so we started early in the morning and drove late Into the Night we arrived in salalawa monsoon season ends we just stopped over at some little Bay on our way to the yemeni Border it's still quite cloudy and foggy but now the Sun go through a little bit and well I'm gonna walk up here while there are other tourists as well taking pictures green and cloudy exactly so from Wisconsin and then it's super sunny local people here they like it because they suffer in that because of people too Gathering will be too much yeah everything will be expensive yeah we continue the drive along the coast to Yemen border [Music] Dover region has countless camels and they are the favorite animals of our world raised for transport raising meat and milk [Music] thank you thanks man now we're going to their little farm you want the milk yeah you drink it yeah they are very good okay then you've got I've never signed a little bit you're gonna like like the camera you have to buy one I have to buy one they are so cute but very expensive huh how much one thousands one thousand Rios foreign [Music] uh no problem yes yes Oman has impressive landscape wind-blown desert pristine Coast spectacular Mountain scenery and turquoise blue water gorges [Music] Dove also produces oman's most precious commodity frankincense an ancient aromatic tree reason traded along the Silk Road thousands of years it has been burned as an incense frankincense are actually surprisingly not that pretty salon those are the frankincense they look like tiny Stones this is how frankincense is burned in a small small pot like this and if you ask me what's the smell of it I could say it smells like church because Frankie Sands is the common sense fragrance that is used in many churches frankincense is harvested from the boswelli trees and they grow widely and abundantly in between the mountains and deserts sad to have the best quality frankincense to harvest it first of all you have to cut onto the skin and then the liquids the sap will ooze out from the skin and then after several weeks those tiny drops were hardened and then you can collect them and sell them [Music] thank you the omanis remain traditional in their beliefs the majorities practice a branch of Islam called ibadism known for its tolerance and peace as the oldest Arab Nation omanis take pride in their identity and carefully preserve their culture now I am in Mitzvah in Oman and today this morning I woke up extra early because there is something interesting happening here that is the animal Market it doesn't look like a gold market because we are trading the guns what a surprise maybe I am at the wrong place those are so nice [Music] from what I've read online before seven it's a spectator time you go around and have a look at the animals which one you want to buy and starting from seven people will line up and start feeding so I think in five minutes the beating time will start most of the animals are the girls foreign [Music] [Music] thank you this short reunion soon came to end Flo went back to Switzerland and I continued my journey to Nepal um if it were not because of the current restrictions I could enter China by taking the Friendship highway but this time the land border is closed Nepal is a peaceful country that have good relations with almost all the countries in the world including two giant neighbors China and India with Mount Everest standing back Nepal is one of the most spectacular countries in the world so I'm going to do whatever tourist does going hiking I've just got my tracking permit and let me show you how this works so you come to the migration office you need to fill in this form there are so many different kind of tracks that you can chose those are all the different tracking mods I'm going to take a very small hike somewhere near here and it will take me about three or four days when I told flowers that I am going for a long hike he suggested that I should sink twice but I was too confident so our hike started I got this from the hotel I was bored for three days um and I was a bit worried because my luggage is quite heavy but they told me it's going to be an easy hike and I will enjoy it do that is a mountain Fort we registered ourselves before hiking from China now nobody progress is not coming so that yes yeah because of the coffee yeah before number one decision this is for China yeah Chinese food others are from Switzerland and Austria countries famous for hardcore and into the Aztec hikers we run into many herds of mountain goats and a Yama explained this to me in Mountain Lutheran we have grassland yeah best land and people do animal husbandry there they bring in cities especially in our main Festival is coming yeah so they are bringing these goods for those so they bring all the goats from the mountain area by walking how many days 10 yeah 10 to build is donkeys yeah cable cars called the capital of wheat yeah I'm hiking we found some marijuana tree very soon I realized this was a bad decision finally I have arrived I am so dead right now I don't know smelly dirty I want nothing but just sitting in this chair and later take a shower don't laugh at me but I gave my three day hike a big discount and returned the next morning I stayed in bed the whole day to recover and I found the easier way to go to the mountains I took a local bus to the Mountain Village of County is a guru Village Guru people is one ethnic group that predominantly live around the annapura region sure [Music] you speak the sign of Tibetan word language and practice bone religion alongside Tibetan Buddhism and Hinduism [Music] in a bus I met daily gurum who just came back from IPO Malaysia and he kindly gave me a tour I remember thank you yeah look this is one thing you can see yeah this is alcohol look that's in the temple the girl I don't know I I think you just stay with us [Music] foreign [Music] of colors and sounds of the daishan festival foreign [Music] people are going to make sacrifices to bring food and then finally they put a flower on their head or make a Tikka on their forehead and then Ring The Spill tashai is the most auspicious Festival in Nepal Prouds gathered in Dubai Square to worship the numerous Gods each has its respective role this is even confusing for Nepali which God is this one yeah what's his power no it's just everyone wants to watch a movie yes there's a long story behind this so we also don't know there's one Goddess that is real she is also the world's only living God is called Kumari a girl who is burning up with this family is worshiped as an international goddess so many friends he always represents the sake community and see the Buddhist girl but he is worshiped as an incarnation of Hindu goddess he is a little kid confined in the building and has a little contact outside the world [Music] festivals he's observed by thousands of Hindu and Buddhist people all across the street and [Music] stopped being goddess when she has her period but there was an exception one Kumari never had period and she chose to continue her cloistered life and helping people reaching God this one can I just go inside thanks [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] coming to Malaysia was a last minute decision when I found out that Vietnam did not give tourist visa to Chinese passport at the moment flow said go to Malaysia it's a beautiful country so I came [Music] my first impression is a very modern airport was very good facilities many of the signs are also written in Chinese and Japanese so it was very convenient for me and I just got my SIM card and I paid with Ali payment which is a Chinese Mobile payment system so I can imagine that the coming trip will be very convenient and when I wasn't sure which way to take a lady spoke to me in Mandarin mama it's hard to describe that feeling I had been on the road for months now and for the first time I feel as if I were home traveling in Malaysia is so easy language barrier hardly exists because English and Mandarin are widely spoken Thailand moving around is effortless because major places are all well connected by public transport good Paradise I've never seen a country with such an exotic combination of Asia cuisines can I have one portion of this Cuba cooling uh famous food do you see the bamboo the bamboo this is the bamboo chicken and you see it's always so fresh with fresh materials freshly made cooked on a spot there are also plenties of interesting fruits and vegetables so there are some other interesting mushrooms pumpkin leaves pumpkin green banana spinach jungle Foods flowers orange looks quite interesting [Music] looks like a lychee very easy you like that you see inside very sweet very nice and let's see this this fruit looks like a snake how to eat this grow or you can cook Chinese Chinese people Malaysia Malaysia yeah very like this one okay ah thanks you try try um [Applause] Malaysia is home to people of different culture Roots they all have maintained distinct cultural characters [Music] phenomena welcome to Malaysia thanks ah this is a little India District yeah and that's why I saw the Indian shops they're selling closest to um foreign the difference is the area or the the territory where they live and very obvious is the dialect the Italian you speak we speak totally completely different darling if I were to talk to them they don't understand what I'm what I'm talking but they all have one thing in common they love Malaysia and they are so proud of their home country [Music] as a main lender I was impressed by the strong presence of Chinese Heritage in many Malaysian cities the earliest Chinese immigrants have assimilated indigenous Malay cultures and formed distinct sub-ethnic groups of perenicans in parenthe convention you can catch a glimpse of their lifestyle everything in this Mansion is extremely decorative those are the beautiful carvings on the door the wooden carvings and even on the chairs there is seashell England now to the back of the Mansion here is the ancestral hole the whole structure whole layout of this Mansion follows the traditional Chinese architecture style and in the middle of the ancestral holes those are the nameplates of the past members of this family more recent immigrants have maintained their Chinese Heritage their diverse mother tone and the traditional building techniques in Penang I've seen many temples and historical ancestral Halls they keep the architecture style of Southern Chinese provinces with a slice of influence from the northern Chinese Imperial palaces [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] tropical jungle many times and with my sandals so soft and I discovered so many interesting plants and animals there are a lot of surprises in the jungles look at this this is this this oh looks like some kind of a red corals but those looks like flowers I have a new discovery a tropical plant this bag is so big and it's very beautiful foreign [Music] monkeys in this area because I was told that the animals tend to gather around in areas near the coast there is enough shells small fishes crabs there is plenty of vegetation and this means there will be enough food for the animals after one long day finally I see one monkey hiding behind this rock [Music] oh too much [Music] foreign [Music] for my last trip I dived deep into Borneo to the bountain high National Reserve after driving for two hours we've reached the batangai lake this lake is a big hydroelectric Lake and from here we have to take a motorized Long Boat to cross the reservoir to the other side foreign [Music] beautiful boat ride on the lake we have batangai is the oldest even settlement in Sarawak today they are still living a simple Collective life in a long houses surrounded by large Forest it's not connected by Road and Longboat is the only way out foreign [Music] go fishing sometimes they hunt small animals so it's more like a self-sufficient way of living we went hiking and this time with the possibility of saying the largest tree living mammal orangutan meaning person of the forest our hike starts from here is about a two-hour hike to the waterfall and in this jungle we might see our Uncle Tom but we are not sure the oroguta make a new nest every day and here we saw a old nest made by aurogutan there on that big tree the very obvious differences the monkey with the tail you see Apes like chimpanzee gorilla bonobod without tail Apes don't jump from trees to another but this by the swing monkeys they jump because of the tails to balance themselves when they jump from tree to another the trees is like shaking I saw some moving branches so that might be the orangutan and now we're trying to look for it [Music] foreign [Music] so I left Malaysia and after a short transition in Hong Kong I finally boarded the plane to Hangzhou foreign [Music] I keep thinking which province is at my fault the mountains the cities the color everything felt so familiar I found every place has a specific smell as a sample of its culture activity I used to land in Shanghai and it smells like a tropical Asian Megapolis the mix of high humidity and a massive amount of food and traffic I was wondering how hungry smells perhaps the osmentus trees or maybe parcels and it turned out to be disinfectant [Music] thank you I spent eight days in the hotel the room was spacious and cozy and I had a good rest the food was in big portion so I gained a few kilos after completing strict quarantine and covet tests I was finally released there are new changes since last time I was home life has become even more digitalized everything involves mobile phones entering the Metro paying for the bill as well as endless QR code scanning in the train station there is even a futuristic face scanning Tito ATM we went here for three seconds and automatic paper out some tissues by scanning my face and for the first time I'm taking a high-speed train to my city [Music] foreign I didn't tell my mom but I saw her now so that's it it was my first long trip and also the end of season one many people asked me if I was afraid of traveling alone to be honest I had doubts in the beginning I was worried that I might feel lonely feel tired get bored but I was way more excited to see this world ahead of me I wrote in the beginning of the video that I am traveling solo but that's not 100 accurate during my long trip I had always been meeting new friends or old friends I have received so much kindness from the strangers and I seldom feel alone and this trip helps me to realize a small part of a bigger dream that is to be a human geographer that travels through this amazing planet and show others how beautiful the world and people are so it's not an end but the start of a brand new beginning thanks a lot for supporting me part of the fun is to read all those comments I feel that I am meeting new people and make new friends with people all over the world and it has been a lot of fun also I am starting a new season about mainland China but probably I would take a very short break before I start the new season I need some time to plan for the coming trips and also to spend time with my family but if you are interested in China in Chinese culture please keep an eye on my channel and for the next I will probably give a very short introduction to my plans and then continue with my trips so that's it thanks for watching and see you
