all right we got the wheel bearing fixed and I just took the exit or just we're entering Holbrook so this is how we would have come through entering Holbrook all right down at 1882 it's DK Route [Music] 66 and this is the Eastern entrance off of uh Interstate 40 oh look at the Sahara [Music] in B of restaurant lounge oh look at that station so Interstate 40 does the dosy dough around H Brook you come in from one side then you go underneath it then you go around another side it's uh it's very exciting [Music] El Rancho restaurant oh look at the pow out Trading Post look at the P Wow Come Colonel Mustard out of an old gas station [Music] nice all right here's little sign up here historic 66 we'll make a right if we go straight that's where the bucket of blood Saloon is that we uh went to last night this is where we had dinner last night Romo Mexican food it was delicious and then we saw a movie there K of the flower Moon the only working movie theater on Route 66 Brook in love that what that sun could be and I dig this building for some reason I I know why the Mitchell's country cobbler that's badass oh here's where uh I had dinner the first night Butterfield Stage Company stick housee oh yeah love that muffler shop I think it's an old Mobile station and here we go we're going to stay in the [Music] wigwam [Applause] so there we go getting that disc worn back in with the new pads new spindle we are back on the road we'll spend the night again in Wigwam number 14 and then we're back out on the road tomorrow and uh yeah all right there's vacancy we got some stickers Wigwam Motel oh sorry man so here's the interior the lovely Sarah here and are you the the manager the owner or no I just work here you just work here okay can you tell us me a little history of the joint um pleas let see construction started in 1946 opened in 1950 okay it's on the third generation of the same family oh stop it okay really I had no idea that's fantastic yeah yeah so they're still yeah the original owners oh that's very cool same family yeah okay and uh is that Kiren kiry no no okay no she's my family but oh she is okay she and how long have you been here a few years you must enjoy it yeah it's fun yeah are you from Hull Brook I am you are okay why because that's where my family's from awesome I love it I love it it makes me sad cuz I'm driving route 66 and it's like all the stories uh this my first time going all the way through but it's like all the stories this there's not a lot of traffic here on the anymore it's no no not not since the freeway we used to be a really popular town I hear you hear yeah yeah I had to go down to the bucket of blood Saloon did you did you like it unbelievable did you the foundation is built of of petrified Rock and turquoise yeah unbelievable I mean isn't that nuts it's turquoise it's not a precious metal but it's a and what what story on the doors those came from a bank in Mexico and how do they wind up here in in Hook any idea the bank was upgrading their doors to more modern doors and so they sold those back to the man that had carved them and then the ls family on one of their trips down to Mexico actually bought them from the Carver oh very cool they're neat so third generation same owners go hello there did you see our Museum in here oh I did we got a museum we've been here for how many days and you didn't she didn't tell you at the Museum no she sling I didn't know what's in here and I don't want to just poke my nose in where I'm I'm already oh wow oh [Music] wow [Music] that's a metri five [Music] log now would be king [Music] Stone Anderson [Music] prison all right so there's your walk around the Wigwam Motel number six in Holbrook Arizona number six right yes number six H Brook AR Arizona stop on in say hi 99 bucks a night and you're uh helping us save this place keep it open for future Generations it's awesome thank you Sarah thank you all right so we're all paid up ready to go here at Wigwam motel in Hull Brook Arizona it's cold out it's chilly we going hit the road good morning good morning how are you doing never better do I uh where do I leave my key you can give it to there you are by The jono Trading Post driving into Joseph City battered in 1876 elevation 5000 all right just saw historical marker sign if we come check it out the Old [Music] Fort Daughters of Utah Pioneers wrecked in 1952 wow the Old Fort col called by Brigham Young I believe for wow all right built out of petrified wood awesome [Music] Old Brick House that's amazing oh je look at the old garage oh wow all [Music] right hopefully it's getting restored I get a picture if there was a front on it all right let me get old Route 66 garage 4467 Main Street Joseph City Arizona that's awesome so it looks like it's getting some love it was made with [Music] Adobe nice so it is getting some love and we got the Chevy flatbed the steak side all right back on the road all right we just are outside of Joseph City and Route 66 it ends up there so we've got to turn around and get back on the interstate this is howdy Hanks it's in the [Music] book wow got a garage you got a tepee old historic 66 hay sales and feed Tac livestock welding shop even and as I drove up I saw that guy up there in the awesome howd HS on Route 66 we're heading that way little oh there it is you can see it Ellis old Trading Post yeah wow all right leaving howy Hanks got Red Arrow [Music] campground [Music] L is Frontier Trading Post or what's left of it all right now we got to turn around and we're back on the super slab so this is Ella's old Frontier Trading Post there's not much left ruins on Route 66 all right again all right Route 66 dead ends behind us look at the welcome to Joseph City Sign awesome we're not going to get back on the freeway we're going over the freeway back on old Route 66 over the jack rabbit Trading Post [Music] they say it's just a frontage road but we know [Music] better all right let's [Music] go world famous Jack Rabbit Trading [Music] post there's the sign jack rabbit look at this all right I got to get a a picture with the sign then we'll check this place out all right I got my picture we're going to go check it out but it looks like it's closed closed oh no we made it the jack rabbit Lo the flat fendered Willis I love it Roadside Attraction there you go so it's official open in 1949 tourists were drawn to stop and see what here it is was all about it's their marketing campaign Place mileage signs along the highway count down the distance the oversized Jack Rabbit so there's the jack rabbit we saw one we've seen them all over the dang place well what the heck all right yeah look at [Music] me and there it [Music] is I was hoping we can get one of those mileage signs that's all right we'll get it next time back out on the road Jack Rabbit Trading Post Yeah you can see the sign there it is right up there but this is right the abandoned gas station and it's for sale barb wire fenced around the old pumps so many abandoned gas stations in this area New Mexico Arizona so [Music] sad all the minaka Trading [Music] Post looks like it's getting a little bit of love too look at that isn't it amazing around here this is built with petrified wood petrified wood good morning sir morning how are you do you know any history about this place uh no no okay it's all good thank you for taking care of is it getting restored yeah you're going to do some demo and um do uh do the whole thing are going to make a campground Campground fantastic yeah with some recreational stuff around here awesome do you mind if I huh do you mind if I walk through it's up to you thank you sir we got some don't hurt yourself exactly yeah safety to get a [Music] picture oh it's awesome welcome to Windslow such a fine sight to see oh no W yeah bed at [Music] 1880 nice is that an orbit or an astro either way I got to get a picture awesome all right you got the cool Motel Falcon restaurant know Falcon restaurant's in the book and it's packed that's awesome desert sunsh sign very cool at the old got to get a picture with this right I believe Route 66 used to be two-ways now they separated it into two one-way streets Earl 66 sleeping the motor [Music] Court best tire deal in town that's what I got with my Continental extreme contact never know what you're going to see coming through town holy mous yeah that's a wide load here it is hidden in plain sight you've heard Lieutenant Beal Beal's Wagon Road well here's the beal Wagon Road sign right here in Winslow Arizona they've even got the camel very cool Beal was one who was tasked with going from Fort Smith in Arkansas all the way out to California he made it it's very popular here in Arizona you got the be Wagon Road oh and a little p hi there buddy I'm sorry to bother you all right we're going to leave be Wagon Road part of History an Astro and an imperial both in the same town down awesome ah [Music] yeah it's either Imperial 400 or an astro I'll figure it out love that you can tell by the roofs I get it mixed up very cool love that brick Oh there's poochie Pooch see you
