Finally! I really miss the airport. The crowd at KLIA2 is gradually coming back. This is my first time flying Scoot and I'll have a layover in Singapore. Old Town Coffee Average per person: RM 25 White Coffee, I won't miss you 😂 Wearing light colors. This white pants are so comfortable. They'll appear frequently later on. It's on time without any delays. It's been so long since I've walked through this corridor. I'm so excited! The legroom in my seat is quite spacious. I feel like I can fully extend my legs without any issues. With Mr. Ong and our mutual good friend. The flight took off on time at 8:00pm. We arrived in Singapore just 45 minutes later. After take a walk around, I really wanted to eat wonton noodles. Pontian Average per person: S$ 7.80 Bought two flavors of sauce, black soy sauce and chili sauce. The traditional black soy sauce comes with char siu, soup, and fried wontons. I've never tried tomato sauce, so I tasted it first. It tastes good, with a light tomato flavor, but I personally prefer soy sauce. The noodles are springy, and the char siu is delicious. I recommend it! Idle, I repeatedly checked the details of our itinerary for Hokkaido. The Jewel Changi Waterfall Landscape is not in our airline terminal. We can only look at the promotional poster xD. Getting ready to sleep, see you guys in Hokkaido. Good morning! I slept with my puffer jacket for a few hours. When I woke up, the immigration card ad placed in front of me. I could already see a vast expanse of white snow. Arrived safely! I'm here in Hokkaido! Many people, but we cleared customs and picked up our luggage in 1 hour. Just to submit the Japan Visit Web application beforehand and taking a screenshot. The snow sculpture event is held every February. Unfortunately, there were no food stalls, so we left quickly. we came to buy JR Pass at the ticket counter. We were lucky to catch the new 50% discount JR Pass. This Pass is particularly useful as it can be used on all JR trains in Hokkaido. We stayed one night at this slightly retro Japanese business hotel. 41 00:03:43,066 --> 00:03:48,366 A very simple room. We went out for dinner, hungry all day. Google Maps led us to this exit. We were deterred by the long staircase, haha. We promptly choose the exit with an elevator xD. Tanukikoji Street Come have sukiyaki for dinner. Didn't expect it to be fully booked, so we had to reserve a table for 8pm on the spot. We decided went to the Tanukikoji shopping street to grab something to eat. 📍SAPPORO餃子製造所 I've eaten at this dumpling restaurant before. super-sized dumplings is their famous menu. And also my favorite deep-fried boneless chicken cutlet. Mr. Ong had the dumpling and fried chicken set meal. Sapporo饺子制造所 Average per person: ¥ 1016 I was so hungry, I had to think about what to eat first. I fell in love with fried chicken with mayonnaise when I ate it here before. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a mouthful of chicken flavor. This looks like homemade vinegar from restaurant. When the food was served, the staff recommended dipping the dumplings with vinegar. The dumplings are indeed much larger than usual 🥟. I took a pretty big bite. The filling has a bit of soup and goes well with the mild sour and sweet taste of the vinegar. It tastes refreshing and not greasy. I'm still savoring it now. 📍ゼン (禅)(zen)Minami We were assigned a table in a large room. The hot towel warmed my hands and my heart in the winter 😉. The restaurant offers both à la carte and all-you-can-eat options. There are also several price options for wagyu beef. 禅(zen) Average per person: ¥ 2970 In the first round, the waiter will prepare the food for us. This is my first time eating sukiyaki in Japan. The online reviews for the service of all-you-can-eat option don't seem to be very good. But the reviews for the quality of the wagyu beef are quite high. Raw egg is essential for sukiyaki. The first meat cooked was Hokkaido Tokachi Wagyu beef. I actually forgot to stir the eggs first. I hope that stirring them later won't affect the taste too much. The meat is incredibly tender and melts in your mouth. It's good enough that made me feel like I can eat sukiyaki without egg. In the 2nd and 3rd rounds, I tried some Hokkaido domestic beef and pork. And added a plate of Kuroge wagyu beef. I didn't expect the slices of Kuroge wagyu to be so big. Ice World's ice sculpture exhibition at Susukino. Is that a frozen king crab? The hot corn and purple sweet potatoes look delicious. Sapporo is snowing in the morning. We going to the nearby Jozankei Onsen hot spring. The bus was full and we had to stand with our luggage throughout the journey. Put our luggage at hotel. Surprisingly, there were no tourists on the road. 📍Kokorono-sato We came to "Kokorono-sato" to enjoy footbath and the lounge. As soon as stepped into the courtyard will be attracted by the scenery. The courtyard covered in snow as tall as me Kokorono-sato footbath Average per person: ¥ 1500 The footbath area in the courtyard was covered in snow. It was so beautiful. Visitors could take any of the desserts and snacks offered. There was also coffee, tea, and water. 'Hot Coffee' and 'American-style' made me think for a moment. Mr. Ong took the 2-person portion of snacks. They didn't offer traditional Japanese desserts and snacks but rather more Western-style cakes, which tasted good. The body was warm, now I can go outside to enjoy the footbath. I have to bring a small towel and a blanket. I think body still felt cold at outdoor without wearing puffer jacket. I can feel that the floor was very cold. Snow is all over the ground I think move closer to the water outlet, the water will be hotter It's really comfortable to soak your feet in the hot spring water Drinking an iced coffee now 😂 Let's refill our drinks after footbath This time I chose American coffee I prefer 'hot coffee' with a light roast flavor Also got some garlic toast and red bean cake The red bean cake has a dense texture and is not too sweet The toast is very crispy and delicious I feel like I could have another plate The vintage cabin decor is really charming Introduction to MeiQuan, who is the discoverer of Jōzankei hot spring Let's take a leisurely walk to the Jōzankei Bridge before sunset The winter sky always seems so blue Is the snow covered on the road really that high? 📍Jozankeio Bridge From the bridge, you can see the Toyohira River Tina, someone loving you silently Go to the convenience store to buy drinks for the night Baby-level yogurt flavor, low-alcohol sweet wine The hot spring hotel we will stay at tonight 📍Hotel Shika no Yu Check-in completed The luggage is too heavy, it's hard to carry 😤 Hotel + dinner & breakfast Average per person: ¥ 7250 The room is bigger than expected It's a Japanese-Western style room a tea set There are also complimentary snacks The bathroom and toilet are separate In a hot spring hotel, the bathtub is not needed I really like the color of this yukata,it's beautiful Let's go onsen! The bathhouse has been renovated and is very clean I feel the hot spring water very hot, especially the outdoor one Now let's choose what to drink, hmmm Try Suntory's sparkling water Drinking sparkling water after onsen bath feels very refreshing Take a seat in the lounge and wait for dinner. Buffet dinner. Take a look around. Tempura looks very delicious. Soup. Fried food! They all look delicious. There's smoked duck. Many people are getting that. There's really a wide variety of dishes for this buffet I also got two servings of chawanmushi. itadakimasu~~ Take the first bite with the vegetables. The shrimp is fried really crispy. It must be eaten with mayonnaise. Let's try the chawanmushi. After all, I got two servings. The egg is steamed well, and the crab meat enhances the overall flavor. This is my first time eating this kind of raw sweet shrimp. I'm struggling with peeling the shrimp. The taste is indeed sweet. Pork belly and glass noodles. If it's delicious, I'll get a bowl of rice to go with it. Haha. Took a bite and immediately make it happen. This last red bean soup is too sweet. It's been a long time since I've been to an amusement centre. Let's have some fun. so easy It's speeding up now. I only got 60 points 😳😳 Have a look at souvenir shop on G floor. Kappa is the mascot of Jōzankei Onsen. Super cute. I bought several of them last time I was here. The most popular "Long-tailed Rosefinch" in Hokkaido is super cute. These wooden utensils look nice. I chose a set to take home. Everyone took one home. Why does it seem a bit funny? 😂 I'm happy to have bought souvenirs. I took photos in the room for too long and only made it to the onsen at breakfast time. I'm the only one in here. The hot spring isn't outdoors, but you can still see a lot of snow. There's only 30 minutes left until breakfast is over. I had a Japanese-style hot spring egg for the first time. It's so smooth and tender. Reserved the Kappa Bus for 12:45 pm the day before Now, I can take a stroll around the area There is a free footbath at the hot spring park The statue of the "MeiQuan" The hot spring water is super hot Kappa statue 📍Jozankei Shrine The snow lantern festival that just ended a few days ago left many small snow towers Preparing to return to the hotel and find a newly opened restaurant Searching for it back and forth on the same road It took 15 minutes to finally find it 📍定山渓ぷりんhonohono Finally found the pudding 🍮 I wanted to eat The egg-shaped pudding is so cute, isn't it? I originally wanted to take it to go since time was tight But the staff kindly took us to a seat At this moment, I just wanted to place my order quickly The restaurant is very beautiful I'll come back to enjoy it next time I'm in Jozankei. The real thing looks even cuter, I'm curious what the egg yolk flavor is like honohono pudding Average per person: ¥ 440 I don't want to poke it just yet. 🤩 Its taste is different from the typical Japanese pudding. There is no caramel taste. The yolk in the middle is actually mango and orange flavored? The overall taste is very refreshing, without being overly sweet. Can someone who understands Japanese help translate what flavor the jelly in the middle is? Highly recommended pudding! The cream inside the croquette is still hot, and it looks very tempting. The outer layer is crispy and the inside is soft. Try it with tartar sauce. It's even better with tartar sauce! This family-run diner create a warm vibe, just like a Japanese drama. The boss and his family members are very nice. Even the uncle in the next seat kept chatting with us. It's a great travel experience. Try the fried Hokke fish. It's even more surprising in taste. It's a bit like fish and chips, but the taste is fresher. We asked the boss for some extra tartar sauce. The boss came over personally and added a large spoonful. He's really nice 😍 📍yoshinori coffee Eating breakfast at the coffee shop downstairs from the hotel. Today's sunshine and the coffee shop's large glass window are stunning. It happens to be an outdoor itinerary today - Asahiyama Zoo. When they don't go out for a walk, they all stay together. It's just like a pillow. Goodbye~~~ We're going to eat the famous Aoba Ramen in Asahikawa. 📍Asahikawa Ramen Aoba-honten This place is famous for its Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen 🍜. This old shop has a 70-year history and is now run by the 3rd generation. Shoyu Ramen Average per person: ¥ 1,000 This is definitely the best shoyu ramen I have ever had, no question. The broth is rich with a perfect balance of saltiness and not so oily. The noodles are very chewy and delicious. The thickness of the char siu pork is also just right. I give this meal a perfect score of 💯. After returning to the hotel, it started snowing outside. We are now going to Asahikawa Snow Festival. Taking the bus to "Tokiwa Park" Arrived at the venue, but the snow is getting heavier. We arrived before 7 pm. There will be a performance later. A 10-minute light show. Feels like Disneyland show. There are several giant dogs, they looks pretty. My favorite Totoro Stopped by "Tokiwa Rotary" to take a picture before taking the bus. One of the filming locations for the Japanese drama "First Love" I coincidentally captured a taxi passing by, haha. Saw many people buying the "Ryugetsu" layered cake. But I wanted to try their cream strawberry cake. It's not a heavy cream cake, and it tastes pretty good. Today, we're going to Biei. We made an appointment with a tour guide, we are going to meet at "Bibaushi" station. Someone brought Shiba Inu out to play in the snow. It doesn't seem to be bothered by the cold at all. This is an unmanned station. Once you get off, you're in the snow, and there are no ticket gates. The snow scenery at this station is stunning. Now I understand why Junpei is hugely popular. The fried shrimp is really delicious. The texture of the meat is similar to lobster, thick and It was very crunchy. Because of the sauce, even the rice has a delicious shrimp flavor. Two shrimps are definitely not enough. I find the cutlet rather ordinary. We ordered tempura fried shrimp à la carte. It's delicious, but it would be even better with sauce, like the shrimp served with rice. A cute Beetle car as a decoration at the entrance. Every time I visit Biei, I fall in love with its beauty. 📍Biei Shrine Heavy snowfall. There's still 1km left to the station. 😰 Remember the corn soup the male lead gave to the female lead in "First Love"? It's hot. Definitely have to try it. Today, we went to Furano's Fairy Tale Forest Terrace. The weather is super nice. Biei Station is so beautiful. The movie "First Love" was also filmed here. I was surprised with how they deal with accumulated snow. Dozens of trucks are lined up to transport the snow. 📍Shiki no To (Four Seasons Tower), Biei Although it's not very high, it's enough to overlook the entire town of Biei. If we're lucky, we might see a continuous range of snow-covered mountains.
