Am I the only one who doesn't like noise reduction? I feel like I can hear parts of the music getting cut away when it is activated. Same reason reducing noise on old vinyl with digital restoration is usually bad? I dunno maybe I'm crazy.. but I'd rather hear all the subtleties and a noise floor than have it cut away and lose subtleties.
I'm glad VWestlife made this video about cassettes. It's just the right video I needed! I bought a CD player and a cassette deck on a thrift store the day before this video was posted. I really wanted the CD player but it should be bought along with a cassette deck which I didn't really want. I found myself contemplating if I should get into another audio format because I already got myself to CDs and records. Thanks to this video, I feel a lot happier with my newly bought audio equipment. I feel like buying used tapes soon.
Enjoyed that!
awesome vid
Man I would love to make a muxtape with all old hip hop and synths and italo and rock and roll and stuff! I'd get a Spotify premium trial, hook up a tape player to the computer, start playing it and bam!
This video of his was made around the same time when I was starting to both collect and listen to audio cassettes again starting off with my father's old General Electric/GE portable cassette with a built-in AM and FM analog radio that he gave to me when my grandparents were cleaning out their old house for the new owners as my Grandparents were pretty starting to move into a new home and as for the portable cassette player it sounded terrible but then again any portable cassette player with a built-in analog radio and/or analog TV will always sound completely garbage but I personally have moved on from old cheap Chinese made portable stereo cassette player to an amazingly sounding Sony cassette Walkman that I personally got refurbished for 60 something dollars (which that does include the shipping) from Ebay called the WM-EX36 which has Dolby B Noise Reduction and a mega bass enhancer.
