I don't see David ever stopping playing ball I see her committed I see her going to the Collegiate level I see her possibly in the professional world in the future I don't think I've had anyone as Elite come in like that we kind of just build athletes here they don't come in at her calendar play I'm excited for it she leaves it all out here hi my name is David Crawford I'm 12 years old and I play softball and this is no days off [Music] [Music] I first got introduced to softball when I was about three years old my dad got me a pink foam bat for Christmas after that my dad started throwing me foam balls and I was actually hitting it the moment I realized I loved it was when I got a base hit I was six years old and that's when I realized I was hooked all right B skip up now make sure to drive drive that foot right underneath you after school I go to phase one and I train with my trainers coach Mike and Coach Alicia beautiful I think what makes Savannah Stand Out is her hard work her work ethic every time she comes in here it's it's never questioning what I'm having her do she puts in everything she leaves it all out here [Music] today's training routine is so much different than any other girl or 12 year old her age because a lot of things that she does is football based I mean she's a softball player but you know like being an outfielder is just like playing DB [Music] [Music] some of my strengths on the softball field is that I'm fast I cover a lot of ground and I'm strong naturally she's an athlete but just the overall drive and push that she has in the warmth I mean it just makes her that much better than girls at her age one of my favorite memories from softball we were in bracket play I believe and we were down by a couple runs this girl hit a base hit right in between me and I dove and I made the play [Music] I'm probably gonna be her biggest critic so I encourage her but I'll also let her know I don't never want her to get a big hit one thing about it is we're going to have a million successes but we're going to also have a million failures but you got to learn from anything that you feel in so I push her to be the best and I encourage her to do everything that she's worked on you know her routines her all the training that she does during the week those are the things that makes her better when I get to the batter's box I do my routine I take a couple swings and then I do this little twirly thing every time David is on the field is memorable because she will lay out for you at any given time she'll die for you any given time she's totally 150 committed we're in a world now where you know women empowerment is big and that's one thing that I preach and I instill in her like again you can be better than the boys quite frankly the way that she works and the things that she does she shows that she can't day in and day out my athlete I look up to is Ken Griffey Jr he's the best center fielder I've ever seen play on my birthday after I opened all my gifts my dad told me to come over and he took my phone he was doing something I couldn't see it was just a FaceTime call I was like hmm who is that when the person answered I realized it's Ken Griffey Jr oh my gosh I was so shocked I was not expecting that you could be anything you want that's the thing that I tell her most you want to be the president one day hey go for it so my confidence comes from when my dad tells me that I could be the best David off the field to the people who know her is so funny I mean people that don't know her they might think she's shy or quiet but this girl runs her mouth she thinks she's a rapper she thinks she's a boxer I mean just everything the way is just me all over again one of my biggest goals is to be a D1 athlete I want to play D1 softball at Oregon UCLA or Florida State and one day I want to go to the Olympics one thing that I may do with the video she's ever in the slump or not feeling like who she is I'll remind her remember who you are remember all the work that you put in she goes gets extra swings if she needs to we go in the garage and hit a little bit until she feels like okay you know what I got this because you know you can't get a hit if you don't keep swinging outside of softball I like to box and also like to collect sneakers my favorite pair of sneakers that I own are probably my Jordan fours military black my goals for today long term is just to be a successful woman but um you know without the grades and things like that softball is not going to matter so I always push for her to get good grades so that you can go to college [Music]
