things have changed a whole lot on Poshmark in the past few years I have also totally changed how I do things so I wanted to create this updated Poshmark tutorial for all of my beginners out there I'm going to be sharing 12 steps to help you get your Poshmark closet up and running making sales and getting paid these step-by-step videos are usually pretty lengthy so if you're looking for specific information check out the description I always leave time stamps down there so you know exactly where to find what you're looking for I'll be mentioning several tools products and recommending other video tutorials that expand on the topics that we'll be discussing links to all of those things that I mentioned will also be down in the description the first step you have to do to start selling on Poshmark is pretty obvious you have to download the Poshmark app and create your account this is a pretty simple process it's very self-explanatory but I do want to go over it with you just so that I can answer some very common questions I get all the time about this you can download the app pretty much on any app store and once you do download the app this is what your homepage is going to look like towards the bottom left it says sign up with email so that's what I'm going to do go ahead and input your first name last name and the email address that you intend to use with your Poshmark account just make sure whatever email address you put here it is one that you have easy access to that you're able to check on the daily basis because you are going to be getting lots of important notifications to this email account here's where you'll print out your shipping label where you get notified about sales and so many other things when you fill out that information go ahead and click that blue continue button then the very first thing on this page is to add a profile picture for your Poshmark account you can leave it blank right now if you don't have a picture that you can can use at the moment just make sure as soon as you can go back and add a decent profile picture of yourself or create a logo on a site like canva anything just to make yourself look a little bit more professional and trustworthy and people will be more inclined to look at your stuff look through your Poshmark closet and buy from you the next thing is your username by default it will kind of use your email address to come up with your username again you can leave it as is if you want and later in the future if you come up with a better username you can always email Poshmark to let them know that you'd like to change it and they will so don't get too stuck on this username part you do want something that you want to stick with but if you don't have anything at the moment thought of then just go ahead and leave it as is move on later you can change it next few things is just to create your password to tell them what country you're going to be selling from to select your gender and then it has a space for you to add a referral code if you have one if you don't have one you can use mine it is Sandra's fifth AV I will also leave it right here on the screen if you use that referral code you will get $10 in Poshmark credits you can use that to buy anything you want on the app I will also get $10 if you use my referral code so thank you in advance to anyone who decides to use mine when you are done with those things right there go ahead and click create to finalize your account from here Poshmark is just going to ask you several questions to get to know you to know what kind of Brands you like what are your sizes so they know what items to show you if you're planning on buying from Poshmark you can fill out this information if you want or you can just click continue to skip it for now I'm going to go ahead and click continue on the next few pages it also wants you to go ahead and connect your Facebook account account and your contacts just to get you connected with other people who you may know on the app if you don't want to input none of that information just go ahead and click done at the top right hand side and that is it your Poshmark account is created once you go through that process and you finish setting up your account there are two things that you are going to see happening the first thing is that you will start to get a lot of followers Poshmark is a very social app so you'll get notification letting you know that lots of people are following you and once you do start listing items they'll let you know that people are sharing your items none of those things matter you don't have to follow these people back you don't have to share other people's items either the only notifications that do matter and that will lead to sales are notifications about legit questions about your items likes on your items and offers that get sent to you and we'll discuss all of those and how to handle each of them later on in the video the second thing you may see once you start your account are scammers scammers Target new Poshmark sellers because they know that those new people may not know how things work so they're going to try all sorts of tactics to get you to communicate with them outside of the Poshmark app they're going to tell you to email them they're going to tell you they can't see the pictures right so please send them a message message don't ever do it just ignore these people or block them if you want to just whatever you do always keep the entire buying and selling process on the Poshmark app if you do that then Poshmark will always protect you they will always do right by you and make sure that your account is safe with those Basics out of the way now you can move on to step number two of the process which is to get inventory to sell on Poshmark Poshmark used to be only for women's clothing that is all you could sell on there but now they've expanded and you can sell pretty much anything all things fashion new and used you can sell clothes shoes bags jewelry you can also sell beauty stuff like makeup shampoo and other self-care products for those things though you do need to make sure they are new they don't want you selling anything that is open that is for personal use you can also sell small electronics and other HomeGoods Poshmark does have a 10B limit though so if you're shipping anything heavier than that you're not going to be allowed to use their labels so just make sure that you're not posting anything that is too boky if possible start with free inventory whether that's items of your own that you don't use anymore or any other family member in the home or even let family members outside the home know what you're doing tell them anything they don't use anymore any shoes clothes or HomeGoods you're willing to take getting started with free inventory is the best way to go as you're getting your reselling business off the ground because you're are just getting started there is going to be a learning curve and with free inventory you'll be able to start learning without so much money on the line once you post all of this free inventory or if you don't have free inventory to begin with you can go to Thrift stores to look for items to resell but to avoid costly mistakes I recommend you do this very slowly in the beginning buy enough items to post about two to three items a day once you get a better idea of how things work and you know how much to expect to make off of these items and you know what brands and styles to look for then you can start bumping up your daily listings to start learning what sells on Poshmark you are are going to have to do a lot of research and you can do this by watching Thrift hauls or what sold videos by other resellers but you can also do research right on the Poshmark app I have a video where I share six strategies that I use to learn what is selling on Poshmark at the moment after this video I suggest you go check that one out just so that you start getting up to speed and start knowing what people are looking for on Poshmark once you do have a handful of inventory on hand to sell the next step is going to be to prep these items for pictures if your items are nice and clean people are going to be more inclined to purchase from you so go ahead and do whatever you need to do to get these items looking very presentable for clothing you are going to need something to get the wrinkles out of the item if it needs it I use this large professional steamer right here I like this one because it has a large water container so I don't have to change it as often I like that it has different settings so I can also steam very delicate items I also like that it has wheels at the bottom so it's very easy to move around I purchased this steamer on Amazon I'm not sure if it's still available if it is I'll leave it linked in the description but if not there are many more that are available by different brands and the pric is range anywhere from 50 all the way to 100 and more just depending on which one you go with it is perfectly fine to use what you have to get started with I started using just the regular iron to get wrinkles out you can also use a more affordable handheld steamer you can even throw the clothes in the dryer on a high setting for a little bit to get wrinkles out it's not going to be as good as if you were to actually take the time to steam it but it will be good enough another thing you may need for items if it has stains is a stain remover this is the one I use right here it's called Grandma's secret stain remover I just add a decent amount of product where the stain is rub it a little bit let it sit for a few hours and then throw it in the wash this will usually get rid of most stains for shoes it really is going to depend on the type of shoe the material that it is what needs cleaning and What needs fixing I have a large shoe cleaning kit right here but I'm just going to go over the things that I use the most often starting with this right here it is called Goan this is great for stains for any stickers that may be on the items sometimes they will write the prices on shoes with marker at the bottom so I use this to get it off as well brushes I use these for Suede Shoes just to give them a little bit of a polish and to reduce the appearance of some of the scuffs on them Dr Martin's Wonder Blossom and this is to polish leather shoes it will disappear some light scuffs and the scuffs that are more deep in the leather it'll just make it look at least a little bit nicer and aside from that it's just these cloths that I use from Walmart just to disinfect things and if you're going to be selling a lot of shoes then you're going to need a lot of rags to do all of this cleaning if you want to see how I actually use these products and all of the rest that are in the shoe cleaning kit go watch my shoe cleaning video there I talk in more detail on how I clean all types of shoes once your items are prepped and well cleaned you are ready to move on to the next step step number four which is to take your photos for pictures you are going to need a well lit background if you have an open window that lets in enough sunlight you can use that to start with just make sure you plan to take your pictures before the sun goes down to get the best Lighting on them and when you're ready you can invest in some lights the lights that I'm currently using are these large ring lights right here from Amazon they are by a brand called new worm I've tried a lot of ring lights over the years but these are the ones that I like the best I really like these because they are easy to install when you get them it's so simple to put together they have a very long cord so that you can connect them from pretty much anywhere they have all of these knobs right here so you can adjust them in whatever angle you wish and overall they're just very durable I've had them for a while and they've never broke on me or messed up or anything I also really like that the ring light is very large so it lights up a large space for the background I really prefer not to use any sort of props like flowers or any other kind of items to decorate I think the best bet is just to use a neutral color background with nothing else around it besides the item that you are listing for sale for clothing one of the options you have when it comes to taking your pictures is doing a flatlay that is where you lay your item flat on a Surface like the floor or your carpet a table or any other flat Furniture you can also use these large trifold whiteboards they open up and give you a pretty large space for you to do your flatlay photos the pro with that method is that you have the liberty of giving your item some shape you can move it around to make it look real nice for photos but then that can also turn into a con because it can be timec consuming to be sitting sitting there finicking with items trying to make them look right that is why I prefer the hanging up method instead I purchased these hangers at Walmart I have these clear acrylic ones for tops and dresses and then I have these white ones for any type of bottoms like shorts or jeans once I have my item on a hanger then I just use a nail on the wall to hang up the item so that I can start taking my pictures before I do start taking pictures though there is one very important thing I make sure of before I get started and that is that my phone is set on a 1 by one ratio somewhere on your camera when you have it open there should be a setting that allows you to change the size of the picture right now this phone is set at full I'm going to go ahead and click on it and select one by one instead when I click one by one this will ensure that my pictures are taken in a square format and square photos do better on Poshmark it'll ensure that they don't get cut off when I upload them and it would just give the buyer a better view of the item itself so always always make sure before you start taking your pictures that you have this one by one square mode setting selected on your camera the first picture I take is always a full length photo this will be my cover photo that will be added to the front part of my listing so it is very important and I try to make sure that it is bright and clear so people can see it then I will move forward and take a close-up picture of the top half of the item then a close-up of the bottom half of the item and then I will take pictures of any details any embroidery studs rhinestones large logo patches anything like that from there I will turn the jeans around and go ahead and take another picture of the full view of the back and basically the same thing again closeup of the top closeup at the bottom and a picture of any details next we will take pictures of any tags the size tags material tags and all of that the last thing you want to do with your pictures is go ahead and record the measurements you can use a fabric measuring tape like this one or a yard stick like this for jeans I take a measurement of the waist across measurement of the rise and then we do the inseam and lastly we do the pant leg across at the bottom then I will just write those measurements on the size chart right here then we take a picture of the size chart so that I have it to upload it later with the rest of my pictures for shoes I just used use the white trifold board on top of this drawer desk thing right here and then on top of that I will just put the shoes and then the background is already white so I don't worry about that the first photo I take of shoes is the cover photo so I just put them side by side like this then I will turn them around and take a picture over the top of the shoe then I like to take a closeup of the toe box and then I go a little bit below the toe box just so that they see the condition of them down there then I turn the shoe around if it has a platform or a heel I go ahead and add this ruler right here I zoom in a little bit close and then I go ahead and snap the picture then we're going to take photos of both sides of the shoes laying flat turn them around and do the other side like this then I will just stack them on top of one another often times they will balance well like this so then I can just go ahead and take a picture of the bottoms next is the tag I zoomed my camera in a little bit because this is a little bit hidden here on the side I'll go ahead and snap a picture of that and then from here it's just any details the shoes may have so I'll take a picture of that elastic a picture of the heel and maybe a closeup of the brand down there those are the steps that I follow pretty much every single time I take pictures of clothing and of shoes over time that's the routine that I've developed and I recommend you do the same develop a consistent routine as to how you take pictures when you do something the same way every time it just speeds things up you have a total of 16 pictures that you can upload in one 15-second video on your Poshmark listings you don't have to use all 16 photos but do use as many as you need to to show the item in its entirety all aspects of it every angle and especially any flaws and do not forget your measurements those are really important on Poshmark because it lets buyers know ahead of time if the item would be a right fit for them or not I used to do the 15-second video thing when they barely rolled out that feature but it does ADD time it takes you longer to finish your photos trying to take that 15-second video so I started skipping it I don't see that it makes that much of a difference but you can try it out if you'd like once you've taken pictures of all of your items step number five is to list your items I'm going to be sharing with you how I list items on a computer because that's how I go about it I take my pictures on a phone and then I do my listings on the computer if you'd like to see a Poshmark tutorial using only a phone for the entire process go ahead and comment down below phone tutorial and I will start working on that for you but to get started listing your items on Poshmark you are going to need your phone where you took the pictures and you're going to need a USB cord so this one is the one that I use for my charger I just disconnect it from the charger box one end is going to go on the phone and the other end is going to go into my computer where it has a USB port so once your phone is connected to your computer you're going to open your file folder off to the left hand side you should see a folder or a section that has the name of your phone this is a Galaxy s23 I'm going to go ahead and click on that then we'll click on internal storage we'll click on DCI am and then here is the camera I'm going to go ahead click and hold this camera and drag it over to download basically what you're doing here is just copying these photos from your phone onto your computer while that is loading I'm going to go ahead and set up Poshmark from the home screen click on the sell on Poshmark button at the top right hand side this will open up the listing page for you go ahead and click on add photos here is the camera folder that I just moved over to my downloads I'm going to go ahead and click on that and here are all my pictures I'm going to select the ones that I want to upload to Poshmark which will be this first item right here I'm holding the control button on my keyboard clicking and holding these 12 photos and dragging them over to Poshmark I take my photos in the order that I want them uploaded onto Poshmark so I don't have to worry about rearranging these photos but if you wanted to you could click and hold these photos to move them around to change the order the most important thing is to have the cover shot right here where it shows the entire item and it's a clear bright picture that the customers will see if you click in the middle of a photo it does have a pencil icon where you can zoom in or zoom out of pictures delete or replace for your cover photo it also allows you to add a filter down here moving on down to the next part of the listing process which is the title here is the title I came up with for these pair of boots if it is a well-known brand that is one of the first things you should put in your title other things you can put in your title are distinct features about the item if the material is waterproof add that in the title if it's memory foam slip proof anything like that is important to add into the title so that customer ERS know that your item has those features right off the bat go ahead and add the size as well and the color and if you know the fashion aesthetic of the item add that in there as well for that I put these words Western and cowgirl that way if anyone is looking for that aesthetic of a boot my item will pop up since I have those words put into my title then we get to the description here's where you're going to elaborate and discuss in further detail some of the things you put in your title for example the size is eight but what width is it is it medium narrow or wide then we have the heel height it is a mid block heel if it was high heel I would add that here go ahead and elaborate further on the material of the item basically you just want to describe your item as much as possible that is all I will say about descriptions because I do have have a full tutorial I made recently where I show you where to go to know exactly what to put into your description and I show you how to create description templates so that you're not starting from scratch every time next section we get to is category the first one is going to be General so it is women's and it is shoes and then the subcategory is optional but if there is something here that describes your item go ahead and choose it this will let Poshmark know exactly where to put your item to give it the most visibility so that buyers are able to easily find it for these here I'm going to go with ankle boots and booties most of us are going to be listing quantity of one for our items but if you do happen to have multiple of the same item you can select multi item right here then we're going to let Poshmark know the condition of your item the question right here is real simple does your item have tags or not even if the item you're listing is brand new if it doesn't have the tags you're going to select no if it does have the tags attached to the item go ahead and select yes and then Poshmark is going to prompt you to answer another question and that is is your item a boutique item to have a boutique on Poshmark you have to apply just select no in this case These Boots are used so I'll go ahead and leave it has no next you're going to input the brand then we get to color you can select up to two colors the first color should be the primary color of your item and then select the second one if it applies if your item is more than two colors then just choose the two most prominent ones style tags are the same as keywords so type in here three things that describe your item that will help buyers find it the next section we get to is pricing at the very top you have to input an original price this is the MSRP of your item what did it cost brand new at store if you know this good go ahead and add it if you can ballpark it you can go ahead and add that amount here as well if you really don't know and don't want to estimate or spend the time researching this you can just add a zero and when you list your item Poshmark would just leave this as a blank on your listing then we get to the most dreaded part for some of the beginners and that is the listing price when it comes to pricing there is no exact way to know what to price your items at I am going to be sharing two methods to do research on pricing so that you're not shooting completely in the dark when you're pricing your items to sell but the bottom line is that pricing will come with time I hardly ever have to do these research strategies that I'm about to show you I just know off the top of my head what I should price an item at it's only when I'm listing something completely new or a brand I've never heard of that I have to do this research but over time the more you list the more sales you make the better you will get at pricing you'll just naturally start to get a very good idea as to what you can expect to get for certain items and certain brands the first way of doing research is to look for the exact item on Poshmark to get a general sense of what it's listed for and what it has sold for in the past to do that I'm going to minimize this window open up a new window next to this one go to a fresh Poshmark page I'm going to scroll up to where my pictures are right click on these boots and then there is an option that says search image with Google so I'm going to go ahead and click on that I'm going to drag my mouse over the boots what I'm doing here is trying to get the name of these boots sometimes the name of an item will be right on the tag like this right here where it says the material and stuff it's super easy when that is the case when the name is right on the tag then you would just search that on Poshmark right here in their search bar but since these boots didn't have the name I went with the Google search option here are the boots right at the top I'm going to go ahead and click into this Ebay listing and right here it says Lucky Brand jacle so I'm guessing that's the name of these boots I'm going to copy that portion onto this Poshmark search bar and paste it and just add the word boots at the end what I'm going to do from here is just basically analyze what other people have priced these boots for on Poshmark and to do that I just look at the first maybe two to three rows I don't want to keep scrolling and looking at all of them that's just too time consuming I just want to get a general sense a general idea so I'm going to be looking at their pricing but another very important thing to take into consideration here is the condition of their item so these for example are new with tag mine are not so I'm not going to be looking at this listing or considering it whenever I'm coming up with my pricing I'm also going to ignore these right here because they are $89 $ which is way above the price of the rest and again these right here are new so basically I'm looking at these that are 38 then we have 40 then we have 59 right here scrolling down here we have some that are 30 and 37 So based on that I'm thinking that the average listing price for these are anywhere from 35 to $37 I'm not taking out a calculator and doing math I'm just ballar marking everything here the next step I will do is scroll to the bottom to get to this filter that says sold items it's important for you to also take a look at these items that have sold in the past as well as items that are listed using both of these pages to research will give you a better idea as to what you should price your item for so I'm going to do basically the same thing as I did on the previous page look and see what the average sold price is is and ignore anything that says this nwt that stands for new with tags if my item was new with tags then I'd only be looking at those but since it's not going to look at these used ones the first pair sold for $34 second pair sold for $15 this was new without Tags I'm going to ignore that one when there are anomalies like this one that means that someone is just clearing out their closet they don't care what they get for the items they're just trying to sell their stuff out they're not doing this as a business so when something sold for very cheap I go ahead and ignore it so we have so far $34 then we have $22 down here $22 right here 36 and 20 I'm going to go with an average sold price of about $25 again just a very very general ballpark number here so so far we have an average listing price of $37 an average sold price of about $25 using that information I think I can expect to get anywhere from $25 to $27 for these boots but the thing is that you never want to list an item for the amount you expect to get for it you always want to add a little bit extra to leave enough room for discounts and offers the second way to do your pricing research if you cannot find the exact item on Google or the item doesn't have it anywhere on the tags is to look for a similar item on Poshmark instead so if I didn't know the name of these boots I would just look up the brand by itself I'll go ahead and click on the brand name right here it is a hyperlink so it's going to take me to the Brand's page and from there what we're basically going to do is narrow down our search using the filters on the side so these are women they are shoes I'm going to go with ankle booties and they are a brown color so I'll go ahead and select that down here and now I would basically go through the same process that we did before look at the first few rows and come up with an average listing price I would look at only the boots that look very similar to mine for example these are leopard print mine are not so I wouldn't take this listing into consideration but once you're done coming up with an average listing price go ahead and click on the sold items again and look at these boots and see what the average selling price is as well doing that should give you a general idea as to what you should price your item at so that you're not pricing too high or too low so with all of that said I'm going to go with the listing price of $37 for these and once I input my listing price price Poshmark will let me know what my earnings would be when this item sells if this item were to sell at $37 my earnings would be $ 2960 that is because Poshmark has a selling fee of 20% anything you sell for above $15 Poshmark will keep 20% and the rest the 80% you get to keep anything below $15 Poshmark will only keep $2.9 .95 and you keep the rest let me back up a little and talk about this portion right here that says discounted shipping later on in the video I am going to discuss in detail exactly how shipping on Poshmark works but for now I want to disclose three important things you should know the first is that Poshmark shipping is $7.97 that is a flat fee no matter what you sell it's always going to be that price the second thing is that by default the buyer will always pay the shipping and the third thing is that you do have the ability to give buyers a shipping discount if you want that is exactly what it's asking you right here do you want to give the buyer a shipping discount if they purchase this item from you you have the option of giving them a 595 discount $44.99 or free so as of now my earnings are 2960 if I were to select the 595 shipping discount now my earnings went down to 2758 that is because the buyer is going to pay 5.95 shipping and you're responsible for the rest which is 202 as it says right here and this amount came out of my earnings if I were to switch this over to free shipping the buyer would pay zero you would pay the entire amount the $7.97 and now my earnings went down even further to 2163 this shipping discount is optional so I go ahead and leave it as no discount and I do offer shipping discounts but I do it later on when I send out offers and I will explain how to do that later now we get to the very bottom of the listing page your availability is always going to be for sale the only time I mark my item as not for sale is when an item sells on on eBay but I still want to keep this item listed on Poshmark in case I have a return on eBay I can just come here and switch it for sale again then we have additional details this right here is for personal use buyers will not see this so you can use this section to add a skew number to your item so that it is easy to find when it sells you can add the cost of goods for your item right here or any other information or notes you'd like to keep track of with your item so by now you should have your closet up and running with a handful of listings up for sale now you can move on to step number six which is to maintain your closet you cannot expect to list a few items and never go back to them and build a thriving Poshmark closet that makes daily sales it does not work that way there are two very important things you need to do in order to encourage Poshmark to send send buyers your way the first important thing you have to do is to list list list think of Poshmark like an actual clothing store if you were to walk into a store and they only had one to 10 items in there you are less likely to find something that you want to buy and also you are less likely to go back to that store because they don't have that many things to choose from that is why it's very important to stay consistent with your listing give yourself a small goal to start off with list two to four items every day and then slowly bump that up to five maybe even six items and that will get your closet a lot more activity and a lot more sales the next very important thing you have to do to grow and maintain your Poshmark closet is to share often on the Poshmark app if you click on the at symbol with your username right next to it it will lead you to a menu on that menu you will see something that says my closet so go ahead and tap on that and then you will see your listed items sharing on Poshmark basically means to click that square looking icon that has like arrows going around it and Click Share to my followers which is the very first option at the very top you will see a lot of other options to share your items like to email SMS Facebook Instagram none of those things is what sharing your Poshmark closet means all you have to do is Click Share to my followers what this is going to do is rank your items higher in the search results so when someone is looking for something to buy your item will be higher if you just shared it to show you what I mean we're going to go to the shop option at the very bottom at the very top in the search bar I'm going to search for some waterproof Hunter boots here are my search results that came up and at the very top there are filters that buyers can choose to narrow down their search one of the filters is sort so they can sort their items by just in by recently priced drop high to low low to high and many other things by default Poshmark leaves that as just shared not many people are going to go in there and change their sort by filter a lot of people are just going to leave it as what Poshmark has it which is just shared so basically the more you share your items the higher up on the pages there will be where they will have more visibility and a higher chance to sell that is why it is very important to share every single one of your items on the daily basis multiple times a day when you're just starting and you don't have that many items it's very easy to go on there and click share on each of your items every day but once you start growing your closet it is going to get a bit time consuming but there are two things you can do to make this sharing process a lot easier and the first thing is right on the Poshmark app so we're going to go back again to the menu clicking that at symbol with your username on the bottom right hand corner then you will either be led to your closet or to the menu if you do go to the menu click on my closet so you're on the same page page that I am at then you're going to add two filters to your Poshmark closet so that you can start using the Poshmark bulk sharer the first filter I'm going to add is going to be just in so you're going to click the cone looking icon at the top right at the top we're going to sort by just in that way my closet is sorted from oldest to newest Poshmark is going to share your closet from bottom to top and I like my newer items to be towards the top the second filter we're going to add is again in that cone icon at the very bottom under availability we're going to select the second option which says available items that way when Poshmark does share my closet it doesn't share any items that have already sold I just want them to share my available items sold items cannot be bought anyway so they're just going to clutter up my page I don't want Poshmark to share those that's why I add that filter once you do have those two filters set in your closet now you can activate the bulk sharer tool to do that you're going to click those tool looking icons at the top very top right in the second section where it says b listing actions you're going to select the first option which says share to followers now you can select all of the listings that you want to share you want to share all of your listings multiple times a day so go ahead and select all this can be a little bit misleading because if you select all you just assume Poshmark selected all of your listings but that is not the case at the very top it says 40 listings selected you have to scroll down and load your entire closet in order for Poshmark to actually select all of them I scroll down a bit and now listing selected went up to 80 and as I keep scrolling down the items are going to continue to add up right there I have a total of about 530 items in my closet right now so I would basically scroll all the way to the bottom once I do that and all of my items are loaded then all I have to do is click that blue share to followers button and that will prompt Poshmark to start sharing your entire closet as long as you leave this page open it's just going to do it in the background for you and you can move on to do other things the second easy way to share your closet is even easier and even better and it is with using a software called Flip Flip is a Chrome extension that you add to your computer it is free to download and once you download it and connect it to your Poshmark account you'll be able to come on here and set a schedule for your sharing I have 12 time slots listed right here flip will go in and automatically share my entire closet at each of these times now we get to the most exciting part step number seven is to make sales if you've done everything right up until this point you should start seeing a lot of activity in your closet one of the things you will see is full price sales this does not happen too often on Poshmark where someone just goes to your closet and buys your item outright at the listing price that you have it at that's not how most sales happen but it will from time to time and when you do make a sale that way you'll get a push notification on your phone if you have the app installed and notifications on you will also get an email letting you know that you've made a sale the second type of activity you may start seeing in your closet are offers people will start sending offers your way when they are interested in your items this is how most sales happen in on Poshmark so this is very normal to start receiving offers on the Poshmark app under that Bell icon that is where you will find notifications about offers coincidentally I just got an offer right now for a bag it is a yellow cash looking icon and it says that this lady offered me $18 for this Tommy Bahama purse so I'm going to go ahead and click on it and you can either decline counter or accept I got this bag on dollar day at the thrift store right below the $18 it tells me my earnings would be $14.40 so that's still a decent profit for me I'm going to go ahead and click accept on this offer the third type of activity you will see is likes on your items when someone hits that heart button underneath one of your items you'll be notified that someone has just liked your item but you will also get the ability to send these likers an offer again that's the culture on posh Mark most sales are made via offers sellers are encouraged to send out offers to likers and buyers are encouraged to send offers to sellers to see your likes and send out these offers again the Bell icon where all your notifications are at the top you're going to select likes that way it only shows you your likes and it doesn't mix up all your notifications in one single feed go ahead and click on the like that you'd like to send an offer to I'm going to select these first pair of boots at the very top then you're going to click that blue offer SL price drop button at the bottom right hand side you have two options when it comes to offers you can do it privately so that only people who have liked your item will get this offer or you can do it publicly this will basically just drop the price of your item to whatever you set it to we don't want to use that feature this is for something else it's for closet clear out and other sales like that which which we'll get into in some other video some other time today we want to click that private offer to likers button next thing you want to do is put in your offer I have these boots listed at $34 my offer has to be at least 10% off of that price so you can input a custom price right here or there is a little calculator right there on the side you can click that to do 10 20 or 30% off I'm going to go with 20% off and click apply offer offer now Poshmark has added my earnings towards the bottom if she accepts this offer my earnings would be 2160 but not really because a Poshmark requires you to add a shipping discount when you're sending out offers right below the $27 it does say shipping discount in parentheses it says required so we're going to tap on that I can either give them a$ 5.95 discount $4.99 or free if I give them any of those discounts I'm going to be responsible for paying the rest of the shipping cost I'm going to go with $5.95 at the very bottom it says that the seller shipping discount is $22 click apply so now my earnings have gone down by $22 because I'm giving them that discount now it's going to come out of my earnings to finish off all you have to do is Click submit at the top right and that offer has just been sent you can send out your offers manually just throughout the day go to Poshmark check your likes and send out your offers but there is a easier way to do it and that's with the tool that I mentioned earlier called flip on flip there is also an auto offers tab right here once you have your Poshmark closet connected you'll be able to set up your settings so that flip can send out offers on autopilot all day long for you you can set how many minutes after a light you want want flip to send out the offer you can put how much of a discount you want to send out you choose your shipping discount and you can also set a minimum selling price or exclude items as well I didn't finish recording yesterday so it is now the next day for me but by now you should have a handful of items listed in your closet you should be listing on the daily basis at least one to two items every day you should be sending out those those offers to likers and hopefully by now you have made your first sale or pretty soon you will make your first sale once you do that then we're ready to move on to step number eight of the process which is to pack your item the good thing about Poshmark is that it's great for beginners because shipping is very plain and simple everything always will ship with USPS Priority Mail and the great thing about that is that USPS gives businesses Priority Mail packaging whether it's boxes or envelopes for free you can stop by any USPS office but you can also go on the website and order them and that's what I do to get to the free shipping supplies just go to usps.com click on stamps and supplies right here right from the homepage click on supplies again at the top off to the side there will be a filter you can check where it says free shipping supplies and just scroll through here and add any type of packaging you want to your cart it will ship for free right to your doorstep just a quick heads up there are also free packaging that says Priority Mail Express these are blue and white these are not the ones you want to use for Poshmark you will have to pay for these if you use these the ones you want to use are the white and red ones you can also use your own boxes if you have any extra laying around your home from any other online orders you've made it's perfectly fine to reuse those just make sure they don't have any stickers or barcodes or labels left over from the previous order I'm going to go ahead and show you the packaging that I order online from the USPS website that way when you go there you kind of know more or less what to order and you don't end up with a lot of extra packaging that you won't be using first up we have this padded flat rate envelope it has has bubble wrapped things inside so that it keeps your item protected so if you're shipping something that's semi fragile this will probably be your best bet next envelope is this one right here that says mailing envelope on it on the website it's called a tiic envelope it is pretty sturdy and waterproof too the one that I use the most of is this one right here it's called a medium flat rate it is a small rectangular box this one right here is a long rectangular box and it is called literally a shoe box so that is exactly what this one is good for now we get to the bigger packaging this one right here is called a large flat rate box and it is a squared box this right here is the biggest size box that I know of that USPS carries it is called the large mailing box or they also call it the box number seven as it says right here choose whatever of those packages best fits your item you don't want it to be too snug but you don't want it to be a lot of extra room in there either if there is a lot of extra room you can use some packing paper to fill up the space just so that it doesn't move around so much during Transit it is customary for people to put their items in something before they put it in a box or envelope you can always wrap tissue paper around a sweater or shirt or even shoes before you put it in a box but what I like to do is store all of my items in these hair poly bags so whenever it sells it's ready to ship I just literally place the item as is in this poly bag inside a box that fits it and it's ready to go I order my poly bags on Amazon and bulk and here are the three different sizes that I use once you do have your item neatly packed the next step is going to be to ship the item here's the general gist of how Poshmark Works Poshmark has a deal deal with USPS anything that is5 or below that's the item with the packaging included will ship for $7.97 you can use any Priority Mail packaging it will be that same price the price does change slightly from year to year but as of now that's what it is initially the buyer will pay that shipping price but as we talked about earlier you can always give them a shipping discount if you want to and split the shipping with them but no matter how it goes down in the end Poshmark needs $7.97 so that they can purchase the label from USPS everything happens automatically so as soon as you make a sale Poshmark will purchase the label create it and send it to you ready to use first I'm going to be showing you how to get the label on the phone app and then I'll move on to my computer and show you how I print it from there on the phone app you're going to click on the at symbol with your profile name click it again until it gets to the regular menu where you can see the option to select my sales click on any of your sales and there will be the order page where you can print your shipping label if you scroll all the way to the bottom it says download shipping label right there click download again from my downloads if I tap on that shipping label it's going to tell me to open this label with something it gives me several options here if this phone was connected to my printer via Wi-Fi then it would show my printer here then I'd be able to send it to my printer and print the label that way the second way to get your shipping label is in the email that you use to sign up for your Poshmark account every time you make a sale they will send you an email I'm going to click on this one right here this is a sale I recently made at the very bottom of these emails there will be a PDF attached to it you'll just go ahead and click on it have a Dao label printer connected to this computer so that is where this label will go I'll just go ahead and click this print button if you don't have a thermal or a paper printer you'd move on to the third option which is to use a QR code to get a QR code for yourselves click on your profile picture scroll down to my sales select the sale that you want the QR code for scroll down towards the bottom right here you can click on generate shipping QR code Poshmark will email you this you would just show that email to the clerk at the USPS office and they should be able to print the label for you so that you can ship your package while we're here let's talk about what to do if someone buys multiple items from you and you end up with a package that weighs more than5 right here under shipping your order there will be a link you can click on that says upgrade your label here you're going to select the weight of your package remember it's the Box any thank you notes you put in there any packing paper all of that together you're going to round up if your package Al together weighs 8.5 Oz you're going to have to select the 9 lb always round up just to avoid any charges later down the road whatever price it says right here will come out of your earnings so to ship a 10 lb package it's a total of $22.50 that's plus the original $7.97 that Poshmark charges and again all these prices come out of your earnings so just select whatever weight you want click next and Poshmark will email you a new label that is for the correct weight and as you can see right here on the selections the highest one one is 10 lb that is because as I said earlier that's the highest amount of weight you can ship on Poshmark anything above 10 lb There's No Label available for it so you cannot sell super bulky stuff on Poshmark step number 10 is to drop off your package there are four different options you have for getting this package to your buyer the first thing you can do is drop off the package and one of those blue mailing boxes that USPS has located all around town if you have a small envelope a tiic or a padded envelope those will fit in those boxes so you can just drop it off on your way to running errands or something if you live in a house you can also put the package in your mailbox if it fits in there the envelopes will fit in there medium flat rate boxes will also fit in there sometimes if the mailbox is big enough the other thing you can do is schedule a pickup once you start making a lot of sales and you have a lot of packages this is so convenient go to usps.com go to Quick tools and then select schedule a pickup right here go ahead and fill out all this information you will tell them when you want your packages to be picked up where you're going to leave them and what kind of packages you have at no extra cost they will pick it up during normal mail delivery times and the final thing which is what most people do is just drive to a USPS office and drop off the packages when you do drop off your package at a USPS office there's nothing else for you to do the label on that package is already paid for on Poshmark most offices will have a place where you can just walk in and drop off packages if they're ready to go you don't even have to stand in line but you can send in line if you want to they will scan the package they will see it's already paid for and they'll just give you a receipt for you to have proof that you did drop this package off at the USPS office step number 11 is to wait for your earnings as soon as USPS gets a hold of a package and they scan it it enters the Poshmark system you and the buyer will get notified your package has started tracking once it starts tracking it usually takes about 2 to 3 days to get to the buyer depending on where they live and depending on the season during Christmas time packages can take a little bit longer once the buyer does receive this package there are four possible scenarios that can happen the first and best scenario is that the buyer will get their package open it up like what they see and accept the order immediately on Poshmark and then your earnings will be released to you so that you're able to transfer them to your bank or any other account you want your money in the second thing that can happen if things don't go so so great is that the buyer will open up a return case on Poshmark Poshmark will ask the buyer to describe the reason why they want to return this item they will ask for pictures as well and review the case Poshmark does not accept returns for any other reason other than the item is not as described so if the buyer wants to return the item because it doesn't fit they're not going to accept it if they just don't like the item anymore Poshmark will not accept the return the only way Poshmark will accept it is if the item has a flaw that was not described in the description or if the buyer got the item in a different color or different size than was stated in the description or in the pictures so after reviewing the case if Poshmark sees that the item is just as described they will deny this return and your earnings will be released to you the third thing that can happen is that again the buyer opens up a return but this time Poshmark accepts it mistakes happen sometimes so if the buyer ends up receiving an item that was not the size that the title or the pictures or the description said then Poshmark is going to accept that return your earnings will not be released to you because basically the order is canceled at that point and the last thing that can happen scenario number four is that Poshmark will enforce their 3-day rule once the item is delivered to the buyer they have 3 days to go onto the posh Mark app and accept the order or open up a return case if they don't do either of those two things within those 3 days Poshmark will step in and they will automatically close down the sale and Market as complete and then your earnings will be released to you so hopefully all went well and your earnings were released to you in one of those ways and now you can move on to step number 12 which is to transfer your earnings to my knowledge there is no way of adding a payment method to your Poshmark account prior to earnings being released to you so you do have to make your first sale in order to follow along with the steps I am about to show you but I think it's still beneficial to see where to transfer your earnings so once you get to that point you know exactly how to do it on the Poshmark app again we're going to head to that menu that you can find by clicking on your profile name at the bottom right if it takes you to your closet click it one more time and then you will see this menu that I'm looking at right now scroll SC down until you see where it says my balance it's right underneath my sales right here you see all of your balance from all your different accounts on Poshmark the first one is credits if anybody ever uses your referral code and you get those $10 that will be right there at the very top of my balance then we have gift cards this is something Poshmark recently implemented if someone gives you a gift card and you add it to Poshmark the balance for that will be shown there and then we have have pending pending is the earnings that are still not released to you the customer has not received the package or the 3-day rule is not over yet so that money is still pending once it's done pending then it'll move down to the bottom where it says redeemable those are the earnings that have been released to you and that you can go ahead and transfer so once you have money there go ahead and tap on that Arrow then it will take you to this page where it gives you several different options to transfer your money to whatever page payment institution you like to use right below each one it tells you when you can expect your money and if there's any fees attached the only two that don't have any fees are Bank direct deposit and check request tap on the one you want and follow the instructions on how to connect your account so that you can seamlessly transfer your funds I'm going to go ahead and click on Bank direct deposit and since I have connected my account before it's ready to go all I have to do is click on that blue redeem button that's basically it my money should be in my account within 24 hours or so only during bank holidays it'll take a little bit longer from here it is all about rinse and repeat go through these 12 steps again and again and you will build a thriving reselling business it's really up to you where you want to take this you can either go hard and make this a solid business that can be your main job or you can just take things slowly and just use this as some extra side income it's up to you how you want to go about it in the comments down below go ahead and leave your username for your Poshmark closet I'd love to go there share your items and show you some support if you have any questions that I did not get to in this video leave a comment as well I will get back to you as soon as I can links to all of the video tutorials websites and other resources will be down in the description I wish you the best of luck thank you so much for watching till the end and and I will see you next time
