hi it's me JD and welcome back to my channel this video is all about beyond clever crafting organization hacks that you might not have heard of before these hacks are what I currently use in my craft space and since they work for me I thought they might work for you guys as well before I begin be sure to hit the subscribe button below and give this video a big thumbs up if you like what you see and then we'll jump right into a first craft room organization hack if the drawers in your craft space are a mess and they contain big bulky items that take up a lot of space such as paper trimmers rulers stamping tools scoring boards then you might want to consider a solution that I found that not only reduces the clutter but it also makes these items much easier to grab enter in a bakeware organizer I saw this gadget in my kitchen cabinets and I was like why am I not using this for my craft room it's sturdy it takes up very little space and requires no hardware to install this organizer may look small but it can hold my 12-inch paper trimmer with no problem with the one I have you can move those little dividers so it can pretty much fit any width you need it too so I stamp a lot in my paper crafting and therefore I have accumulated a lot of acrylic blocks to use for stamping I have a stamping tool but for some quick stamping I like to use these acrylic blocks as well and as you can see they're kind of all over the place there's no rhyme or reason to them there's little ones here or big ones there and so I really needed to find a solution that would contain all of these blocks and make them easily accessible so I can use them more and that's when I discovered this desk organizer the advertisement said it was more used for office supplies or death supplies like pens and pencils and erasers but I thought they would be perfect to store all of my acrylic blocks I like that it doesn't take up that much space and it's see-through from the outside I can see exactly which block I want to use and I can see what drawers in it's lightweight but still sturdy with this brand you can also buy other coordinating storage cubes and then connect them for even more organization if you seen my other videos then you know I'd love to do ink blending as a crafting technique the problem is my ink blending tools are all over the place I finally found the ink blending tools in bulk so I snatched it up as quickly as I could on Amazon I'll link it down below and if you see it there for a great price you should definitely get it get it while you can because it's not in stock often but now I have these tools all over the place including with my random pair strands anyway so I needed some kind of storage or organization solution to all this that's when I discovered this essential oils organizer I know right totally random but these slots perfectly fit the tool the one I have comes in a wood color in a white color I have the white color it's this handy tray it has a total of 63 slots which is perfect for the amount of ink blending tools I have if you tend to do your crafting in different areas the tray is handy because you can just pick it up and go another handy feature of this tray is that if you don't want to use a tray this whole insert is removable so you can store it in a drawer or on top of your desk or something I currently have it in my IKEA Alex drawer and I also use the tray as even more storage for other things such as cardstock or paper so if you're going to use the insert make sure your drawers are at least three and a half inches deep then I like to lay down a piece of scrap paper or cardstock just to help protect the inside of my drawers even though they're already kind of my stuff I place the insert inside of the drawer and then I just start organizing I was so happy to finally find a cost-effective solution to organizing all of these ink blending tools I can't recommend this enough I do a lot of ink blending so it made sense to me to have a lot of these ink blending tools readily accessible on hand rather than you know switching out the foam each time plus if you have full set syndrome then this is the organizing solution for you for my paper crafts I'd love to do a lot of Payne so therefore I have a lot of stamps I've already done a video showing how I inventory and organize all of my stamps I'll link it somewhere you guys can check that video out after this one I just wanted to show you how I physically store all of my stamps to store my stamp collection I use a DVD holder these are relatively inexpensive and they come with a convenient handle if I need to move a bunch of stamps at once they're also really lightweight too so the stamp storage pockets that I use fit perfectly within one of these storage bins I also like these bins because they're narrow and they're short and I use a bookshelf to store these on they fit great on the bookshelf I have and I can easily pull one bin out without it being too heavy if I need to do to organize them I just make dividers and organize them by brand another craft supply that I reach for often are my painters tape and my thicker roll of double-sided adhesives and while they're great for crafting they're also really bulky so I try to find a solution that would decrease the clutter of these big old tape rolls I ended up using a paper towel holder it's an inexpensive and easy storage solution and it doesn't take up that much space so I just take all the bulky tape rolls I have and just pile them on this and if I needed say a particular piece of tape from the bottom well I can easily tear off a piece without having to remove the whole stack I'm just organizing it by size because I'm mostly - you like that I have quite a large marker and pen collection due to all my hand lettering and bullet journaling and card making so I needed to find a solution to get all this under control stat I like to organize my pens and markers by brand and for my fancier ie more expensive markers and pens I like to lay them and store them horizontally as I think that preserves the life of them more to accomplish this I used a makeup organizer the makeup organizer unit that I have fits perfectly in a akia calyx or exponet whatever you have and it's nice and clear and I store each drawer with a different brand of brush markers and pens I love that I can pull out the entire drawer if I needed to and bring it to my desk in order to do my crafting and PS this next tip really isn't a hack but I love this storage system so much I thought I would share it anyway I got these drawers online and they store all of my embossing powders perfectly they store glitter they store reinkers perfectly so if you have an IKEA system or a shelf like this and you want some more storage in there to maximize its potential then look into getting these kinds of drawers to hold all your little knick-knack goodies okay so if you're a Stamper like me and you're short on either money or space or both then you probably have a collection of mini inks as well mini inks are perfect when you don't have a large crafting space or a large budget because they're small and they're more cost effective the only problem was I wasn't reaching for my mini inks as often as I should because I didn't have a way to know exactly what color I was getting you know with regular ink pads you could put a swatch on the side well I didn't have that with the mini inks until I found this solution I found these removable labels I actually started using these labels way back when when I first started ink blending to do some masking and I thought they would be the perfect solution for me to swatch my mini inks and probably all of my inks they come in a full sheet size and I use my Silhouette Cameo to cut out custom sizes of swatches for all of my ink pads you could use a circle punch our scissors or metal dyes to cut these shapes out but I find that having an electronic cutting machine or just borrowing one will make this process a lot easier and you can get the custom shapes you want for example I used them to swatch my ink blending tools I did the top of the tool as well as the side of the tool with a regular label maker and since the majority of my ink pads are mini inks I thought it would be best to swatch the top of these mini ink pads I have regular size ink pads stored an ink pad you know storage systems and I obviously can only see the sides boom so that's why I swatch the sides of those these adhesive sheets have been one of my favorite crafty finds I can't recommend them enough they're so versatile you can use them for swatches or masking or just making stickers for your kids and here you can see my mini ink storage all organized in an IKEA dresser that's right by my crafting desk and this system is great for seeing my mini inks at a glance but if I wanted to see the swatches of my regular size ink pads and my mini ink pads then I use this system to organize all of my ink swatches I use a business card holder you can find these at any office supply store and they're pretty affordable this system it really helps me find an ink color I'm looking for and I swatch mine just a little bit different I use business card sizes because I like to ink blend in one corner stamp in the middle and then stamp again to see the second generation color and I do this because I like to ink blend and therefore I like to see it I like to see the colors just butted up right up against each other so I can see if they make a nice blend this system what works really well for me when I'm searching for a specific color to use the next craft organization hack just might be sitting in your closet my kids do some crafting from time to time and I used to keep all of their supplies in this bin and it worked out okay but it was one of those out-of-sight out-of-mind things where they wouldn't make crafts as often because their supplies weren't easily accessible that's when I went into the back of my cloud and found this shoe organizer this unit was really affordable and I turned it on its side and now it can hold all of my kids crafts supplies and little cubbies with this organization system I love that there's a compartment for basically everything and there's still room to grow I keep this on the floor so it's within reach for my kids to grab any craft supply that they would need it's also right next to my cardstock shelf and this is where I keep the lighter weight cardstock that they can feel free to use any time because this stuff was pretty cheap but this is the ask mommy first pile over to the right and they know that so this little corner of my craft space has become a family crafting corner which I can appreciate I think you guys will too okay so if you have a crafting desk then your top drawer might look a little like this and it's not meant to be a junk drawer but somehow it just got to that point so this system hid the mess but it didn't make things easier to find or use and that's when I found a bathroom countertop organizer normally used to organize your lotions and potions and toiletries I thought it would be perfect for the top of my crafting desk and I don't know how my kids Batman pen got in there but it did oh I'll ignore that these organizers have the perfect compartments for my craft supplies for my most used pens - my paintbrushes - scissors - adhesive - tape runners there's a little slot for everything which I love about this and the system was pretty affordable to and this next organization hack is great for any colored pencils or tall pens and markers you might have so I have a small collection of colored pencils and I used to keep them in their tin but then I realized I wasn't reaching for them often enough and so I needed some way to have them on display but still organized so they're still pleasing to the eye and that's when I found these plant pots I was lost in Ikea as usual and I stumbled across these plant pots and I thought they would be perfect for organizing my colored pencils and my really tall markers that wouldn't fit in my other marker organization and you can use any Vaz or a plant pot you find I just like these because I like the simple design and they're really sturdy like they've got some weight to them so they can hold a lot of markers if you needed them to so which of these craft organization hacks were your favorite let me know down in the comments thanks for watching guys
